O Maidens in Your Savage Season

O Maidens in Your Savage Season

Introduction

When they were little kids laughing and playing together, Izumi Norimoto and Kazusa Onodera were like siblings. But as their bodies matured into middle school, Kazusa began seeing him as something different; unfortunately for her, so did the other girls. Ostracized, Kazusa had no choice but to distance herself from him going into high school. After joining the literature club, however, she finds friends that keep her mind occupied. Known throughout the school for reading aloud sex scenes in literature novels, the club's reputation has kept all teachers from accepting the task of being their adviser. During a discussion about what they would put on their bucket list, one of the girls says one thing: sex. This single word sends ripples throughout the five girls, as the thought of sex begins taking over their daily lives. And, after walking in on Izumi during a very private moment, Kazusa is sent into a spiral of emotion that forces her to face her true feelings for him. Now, with their hearts racing and the literature club facing immediate disbandment, the five girls must work hard to keep both their sanities and their club alive. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

# Review This is the **second most mentally disturbing anime** I have ever watched. The beginning and especially the ending left me mentally disturbed, emotionally drained, and deeply unsettled. I will give credit where it's deserved. The middle portion of the story was genuinely interesting and kept me invested in what would happen next. For a while, I thought the anime was building toward a meaningful conclusion. The mystery and character interactions made me believe the payoff would justify the journey. Unfortunately, everything fell apart near the end. The conclusion completely ruined the experience and erased most of the goodwill the middle had built. This anime constantly pushes its relationships toward darker and more uncomfortable territory. At first, that direction felt intri…

Really not my usual fare; a coming of age about young high school girls with some very minor elements for boys. I am not usually a fan of high school settings, I am not a girl, nor am I Japanese; so I am experiencing this story largely as an outsider but can still appreciate the universal emotional elements this story is conveying, and for me at least I think it did it really well and in a digestable way. It also felt like it approached the topic in a way that felt a little more 'real' or true to life overall than some other works I have seen in the past. The premise is easy to understand, you generally know what you are getting - an exploration of early sexuality and how people come to terms with new feelings and interpretations. The series had a surprisingly good balance between light…

I admit but this anime is cringe in fact I warn you it will be cringe but as I continued to watch it it grew and became more wholesome and I generally like the characters the end was a mess imo especially the last 2 episodes but it was still a decent words it is relatable and i recommend it. The story was certainly refreshing. The plot to me felt like a new take to the romance genre. The fact that not every character got what they wanted but in the end they understood their feelings made me satisfied with the outcome. Can be branded melodramatic and pervy since the first 4-6 episodes sexualised everything but I believe that this should not be a determining factor.

Trains Are Metaphors For Something. o maidens in your savage season Is a drama full sex comedy about five maidens finding out what is between their legs and what they feel for our men. It starts smallly with some books with some metaphors that are a bit juicy and a bit horny, but before or later the tidal wave cannot be held back, and everybody has to figure out what they're feeling. And they do it in a fun way. every girl has a unique shell, They have to figure out. they have a good chemistry with each other and males in the show, it is a really fun and romantic sex comedy. the sexual drama feels sincere it doesn't feel like it's there for sex appeal. it can really be felt that it's a woman that is written it, because seksuality is done in a tasteful way, but still very funny. The sh…

So recently, I decided to watch every single Crunchyroll AOTY candidate over the years and the first random draw I got was this. This is, like, one of maybe three anime I hadn't heard of prior to looking at the list so I was curious if it'd stick out as a hidden gem or something deservedly lost to time or what. I thought it was solid but not spectacular. I like the art style, it's pretty and well-animated. It's not a visual masterclass but for what it sets out to do, it does it well. I liked the more textured feel you could see on stuff like Hongou's hair. For what it's worth, I thought this was going to lean into a Shimoneta-style of show where it'd be focused on sexual humor and thankfully, that's not what it's like (...I say, having Shimoneta rated higher than this), it's more of a c…

Disclaimer: This article solely reflects the author's personal opinions. If you have any questions or disagreements, feel free to express them. O Maidens in Your Savage Season reflects issues related to social problems, curiosity about sex, and sexual confusion during adolescence. In other words, this anime places significant emphasis on the theme of sexual relationships. When viewed in the context of its time (2019), it presents a refreshingly bold and novel approach to such topics. Regarding the storyline, the author believes that the anime unfolds smoothly and stands out in how it conveys the emotions of the characters. Although the author feels that the plot slightly "goes off track" towards the end, it does not negatively affect the overall quality of the anime. As for the visuals…

We all grow up from children to adults—it’s a natural and beautiful journey. But in between, there’s that chaotic teenage phase where we start to understand the world in ways we never did before. It’s messy, confusing, awkward, and often embarrassing. Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo. captures that transition in a way that feels incredibly real. It’s about love, crushes, heartbreak, guilt, curiosity, and all the feelings we struggle to put into words at that age. The story revolves around five girls from a literature club, each with their own personalities and experiences. Nina is effortlessly charming and confident, Kazusa is a bit childish but has a kind heart, Hitoha is that internet-savvy girl who has trouble dealing with real-life interactions, Rika is the strict literature club pres…

I wanted to like this show. The topic is interesting, but usually poorly done and this was no exception. Almost all the characters behave unrealistically, despite the show trying to portray realistic emotions. Not in a unpredictable teenager kind of way, but in a no-one-would-ever-behave-like-that kind of way. When confronted by problems the cast comes off as easily brushing them aside, incredibly dumb, or malicious for no reason. The build up is very poor and a lot of the drama comes on too fast or seemingly without cause. Without spoilers I will say the ending was super forced and everything wraps up immediately. The complicated ideas the show brings up are done in a shallow way, maybe because there are too many. I cannot tell if these topics were fumbled or if morally deficient or quest…

I watched this over a bet/trade of sinister 6 of animes with two friends. Basically, this show sucks. I did not like it anything about this show in any metric, and No I really don’t care to go in depth review on this like with someone of my other reviews. Cons: •its boring •it’s terribly executed themes/concepts •nina •hongou or whatever her name was •the forgotten 1d gay one that did nothing the whole show •the pedophile •the plot •the ending •the characters •the mc whatever tf her name was = drywall Pros: •Sonozaki • Amagi • Gyaru • Gyarus boyfriend • Gyarus baby •the little reference of The Little Prince (also mentioned when sonozaki and the gyaru were on screen who barely do) (As u can see, I tried to find the flower in the field of dog shi)

This has truly been an unexpected experience as how it started and how it rolled things into a much heavier tone. With the genre of romance/drama in mind, I believe that they have done very well to use this as the main element to move the story forward. With the level of execution of its drama, I can easily put it in between Nisekoi and Toradora, and if we were to scale it, I'd put oregairu at number one and this anime to number five. It seems to have used the same formula as Toradora did but with fewer episodes to go with and the first half done in moderation. A lot of people dropped Toradora due to Taiga's extreme behavior, ending up with viewers having to bear it until it became interesting. In Araburu, the first half wasn't all that bad, I really thought I was watching cute girls doi…

I'm on the lookout for anime that don't deserve their rating. This one isn't it. My main issue is that none of the characters are relatable. Maybe I'm just too old for this kind of stuff, or maybe because I'm a man, but I could not connect or cheer for any of the characters here. They all have good moments, but just when it gets good, it feels like another one of our main cast steps on the foot of the character we're focused on. Heck, there are like 2 or 3 moments where the suspense is actually tangible, but then they drop a cliché interruption that just ruins the moment. The first few episodes do actually have a good hook. It's something new that we don't see in generic high-school anime. But, for me, as the story progressed, I felt like I could not stand most of the main cast. As contr…

This show is awesome, but not many people will agree with me. I think the main reason I enjoyed the show as much as I have, is because I watched it at the perfect time, the time where I was also thinking about such things. I really love how the characters change a lot about their views and personalities over the span of the anime, and I don't understand why people call this an inconsistency in character. People change, they always have, and always will. This show is also incredibly unpredictable in a good way. You could never know what was gonna happen, how the characters were gonna act in a certain situation and it really encourages you to want to know more about them, as weird as it sounds. The more you watch the show, the more you understand their actions and thoughts and root for t…

Oh wow, just finished this anime and didn't expect to love it so much. It is very obvious that the source material is written by a women, for young women. I wouldn't have accepted it's premise otherwise. It deals, in a rather blunt, sometimes shockingly honest way, with coming of age female sexuality, understanding romantic relationships and coping with all its pain. It encourages young women to fight back against the old fashioned and misguided mindset that women are not pure if they have sexual feelings. Against the idea that women should essentially either remain girls forever, or be labeled as sluts. Characters: Features a group of five girls in a literary club, just as hormones start to kick in hard. They use the books they read in order to help them understand what they're going th…

A story about awkward adolescent girls' expectations of sex, what it makes them do, what their perceptions of how people view them are and how it all makes them feel. If this sounds simplistic, it's because that's what the premise of the show is. Out of the three genres, 'comedy, drama, romance' the emphasis is mostly on drama. Neither the 'comedy' or 'romance' are particularly present or memorable. It is entertaining and interesting, an enjoyable show for sure, but to me this is feminine self-indulgence and validations of insecurity and the rationalizations put behind questionable behaviour being presented as reasonable. Praising this would be the equivalent of praising a boy peeking at the women's outdoor bath and calling it character development. You understand why this happens,…

I hope you like teenage angst. If you're familiar with the works of Oshimi Shuzo (Aku no Hana, Okaeri Alice, etc.), you'll feel right at home. You'll feel gross and dirty like you were reading someone's diary, or peering directly into their soul. In this case, high school students at their most hormonal. Except here, the art is nice and easy on the eyes. Also, there are (legitimately pretty funny) gags thrown all over the place to break the pace (admittedly, sometimes at weird, inappropriate times). Not recommended if you don't like melodrama, or if you're wanting to engage with a serious drama show. Would recommend if you're looking for angst-flavored character comedy.

O Maidens in Your Savage Season: Yet another one of those romance anime that seeks to be a little bit of a shocker. However, unlike many before it, this really does deliver in most of the right notes. One thing leads to another as our main cast of girls try and discover what it means to be in love feels like. When we’re young, love and sex seem larger than life—it is the most embarrassing thing imaginable. Maidens of the Savage Season captures all those emotions in the most melodramatic way possible. It skips all of that pesky build-up, the characters are stereotyped, it’s oftentimes predictable, and so what? Who cares about all that crap when it’s so damn entertaining? Melodrama is what Mari Okada is known for, Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo is no different. Anything she writes that isn’t edited heavily by a director will surely be overflowing with melodrama. She’s an ambitious writer, however, she stuffed far too many ideas into this show. Sex, love, jealousy, homosexuality, social commentary, pedophilia, netorare, the list goes on and on. As someone who loves analyzing themes and the aut…

This anime is a very tricky subject. Anime is loved by all types of people from all walks of life, so often times the desires of the viewer can vary greatly. Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo is not like a typical shoujo anime. This show covers some seriously heavy subject material, so viewer discretion is heavily advised. That being said, for those who are open to a rather dark, intense look at the reality of the struggles of human adolescence will find one of the greatest stories ever told on the matter. This show is definitely not for everyone, but it has stories to tell that deeply reflect some of the most beautiful and most evil parts of our world. And that's not to say that this show lacks an uplifting message. As this anime shows the stories of the struggles of each of its characte…

O Maidens in your Savage Season I think is a hard show to describe, I don't think it is bad but I did not find it that enjoyable of a watch. If I had to describe the show in a sentence, it captures a lot of the messy and hypocritical feelings when exploring the topic of romance and sex but it is also frustrating and bloated. Every character in the series contradicts themselves quite a bit, but I don't think that is a bad thing at all, I think it does capture how insanely unsure the characters are at this point in their lives. They say a lot of things they would probably regret, are unsure of how to describe their feelings and ultimately find it hard to even openly discuss their turbulent emotions. This adds a nice amount of realism to their emotions but it is frustrating to watch as a vie…
