Baki

Introduction

After emerging victorious from a brutal underground tournament, Baki Hanma continues on his path to defeat his father, Yuujirou, the strongest man in the world. However, he gets no time to rest when the tournament runner, Tokugawa Mitsunari, visits him at school. He reveals to Baki that five incredibly dangerous death row inmates from around the world—all skilled in martial arts—have simultaneously escaped confinement and are heading to Tokyo, each wishing to finally know the taste of defeat. Tokugawa warns that, due to his well-known strength, Baki is bound to encounter them sooner or later, and he will not be their only target. Adapting the first saga of the second manga series, Baki centers on the all-out war between the esteemed martial artists of Japan and those of the dark underground world. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This anime makes me question who I should root for because of how interesting the characters are, it doesn't matter if it's a crazy psychopath, he's awesome and I want him to win. Once again, Baki proves to be a super creative and captivating work; all the episodes are exciting and dramatic. Ridiculous anatomy? Impossible moves? Immortal people? Baki has it all and it's amazing. The art style isn't just bizarre, it's the soul of the anime; it works so well with the characters' personalities and abilities. Everyone is incredibly quirky and makes crazy faces. They are wild animals, they NEED to be bizarre. If your nickname is OGRE, I don't expect you to be human anyway.

I think Baki gets overlooked because most people don’t really know how to approach it... It's pretty extreme and often makes no sense. And while that’s true, that’s also kind of the point. Everything is exaggerated to the point of absurdity. Human anatomy, dialogue, expressions. The fights are ridiculous and the character designs look illegal. The dialogue constantly escalates like it’s daring itself to go further, with that being its sole purpose. Sometimes things get so ridiculously aggressive that it's just funny. There’s a certain fight involving 99999999 punches that ends with a single decisive hit. That for me is the embodiment of this series. Best fight in the anime imo, made me LMAO harder than I probably should have There aren't many anime I watch just "for the fights" but with…

English. A pretty interesting first part, in my opinion. If you've already seen the previous anime about this protagonist, you'll love this new one. It has the same aesthetic of strength and martial arts that many will love, along with a bit of a crazy and unreal story that fans of the series will love. Now, if you want to start with this anime, watching Baki isn't a bad idea. All the fighters are explained, and while you won't understand many things, it's not entirely necessary. The plot here is one where different fighters from around the world go to Japan to lose something they've never experienced, each with different abilities that will help them. A story that, in my opinion, has a lot of potential, and here they were able to demonstrate it. We see all the criminals, and specifically…

It's a wild show. They got the most ridiculous things happening, and straight up lies about physics/science to try and back it up. It's quite entertaining, but a lot of fights kinda just drag. It's basically taking turns basically killing the other person, then they retreat and do it all again a few more times. During the show, I felt like I was supposed to know a lot of these characters already. I admit, I never saw the previous Baki series, and I suffered for it it seems. New characters are contently coming up, and it feels like we're supposed to already know them from the previous show. So maybe it would be better to watch that first. Even with the ridiculous fights, the show overall did drag a bit, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get through the next part, but we'll see.

Baki is an adrenaline-fueled martial arts anime that dives headfirst into a world where strength is everything. The series follows Baki Hanma's relentless quest to surpass his legendary father and become the world's strongest fighter. Strengths: Action Packed: Jaw-dropping fight scenes and bone-crunching combat maneuvers keep viewers engaged throughout. Character Dynamics: A diverse cast of formidable opponents with unique fighting styles adds depth and intensity to each battle. Themes of Resilience: Explores themes of determination and the relentless pursuit of strength, making each victory resonate. Considerations: Hyper-Violent: May not appeal to all audiences due to its intense violence and focus on spectacle over narrative depth. Emphasis on Action: While character backstories are…

The first season, (have only watched this one so far) feels like a super high quality shitpost. I love it in every ways, it's so absurd, so violent, just satiates my primal masculine urges. Everything is possible if you imagine hard enough. High entertainment value, might not be as well written but I got a good laugh out of the show,(I mean it in the most loving way). The story feels legitimately unique, it starts off in a very interesting way. Characters are well written I think and some interactions were interesting (great character development for some). The plot might not be the best written though but the absurdity is what I love about the show. I loved this show, and will consume other seasons soon :) . (edit) wording

Oh yeah, BIG MEN DOING MAN SHIT is back and better than ever. After 17 hears, the story continues, this time with decent animation and a better budget. It's more man than ever! If you don't watch this, you're missing out! So give it a watch so you can grow some hair on your chest and then some testicles from the hair and then more hair on the testicles. You know, there's this awesome line I remember from the iconic 80's action movie Commando with Schwarzenegger that I believe perfectly describes Baki as a whole: "I can't believe this macho bullshit!" That sums it up best if you ask me. Speaking of 80's action films, Baki really reminds me of those in the best of ways. The story is simple and straightforward, nothing too overwhelming to tax your mind. The meat and even more meat is in th…

Fans of “Baki” already know what to expect. Where the show becomes more interested in establishing a strange and improbable situation between fights, rather than martial arts, logic, sense of coherence and explanations or intense battles. One would wonder how it is possible that even serious injuries, which could be facial wounds or severed hands, can easily be handled if only using simple means like band aids and stitches. The show is not about blood loss or even death because here, there is a divine doctor who can even resurrect people from the threshold of death. The fights themselves, however are not all that inspiring and can be slow-paced, the CGI in some episodes leaves a lot to be desired. The dialogue can also be weird. However, if these eccentricities don't bother you, you may en…

Right then, this one was a shame. It's started with much promise, lost its way and finished in a little bit of a mess. That's the summary here is a little breakdown. What really does shine in this show is the music. It's excellent. Less of a score and more of a series of bangers that appear at the perfect moments. Even the intro music is great. It add a great deal of excitement to fights that honestly, the further you get into the show, are really anything but exciting. The music at times really keeps the show afloat. Animation wise, it seems to be in line with all 'Netflix Original Anime' (NOA), it's ok, bit of a cheap copy of Jo Jo style. Seems every NOA has the same weird look to it. Everything is over the top and I'm not sure it is in a good way. Not quite as good damn awful as Recor…

This is the worst anime I've ever seen. It's about people fighting against each other except when their spine gets broken into pieces, they not only survive, but start walking the next day like nothing happened. Also, they all refuse to kill each other, which backfires every single time and it just pisses you off as a viewer. Overall, it's not entertaining at all...Let's be honest, It's trash. Just because I say that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. It's trash but in a good way. If your looking for a action anime with good plot/story and animation, this is not it. Its worth watching because it funny and entertaining, not because it's good. Baki is not good. It starts out with five criminals escaping and coming after Baki, our main character. After most of a season, Baki hasn't fought…

Baki is a Japanese anime series that follows the story of Baki Hanma, a young martial artist who seeks to become the strongest fighter in the world. The show is a mix of action, martial arts, and drama, with a cast of colorful and eccentric characters. From the very first episode, I was immediately drawn into the intense and brutal world of Baki. The animation quality is top-notch, with incredibly detailed fight scenes that are both thrilling and satisfying to watch. The characters are equally impressive, with their unique fighting styles and backstories adding depth to the overall narrative. One of the show's strengths is its exploration of the human body and its limits. The series delves into the physiology of fighting and the mechanics of how a fighter can become stronger. It also exp…

The first season of the Netflix Baki anime has a fantastic plot that kept me engaged from start to finish. The animation, while not the best, is still good enough to be enjoyable. The art style is not my favorite, but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. The characters in this anime are well-developed and have their own unique personalities and backgrounds. The English voice acting is top-notch and really brings the characters to life. One of the strong points of this anime is its diversity. It features a wide range of characters from different countries and backgrounds, which helps to create a more interesting and dynamic world. Unfortunately, the enjoyment factor was not as high as I would have liked. The pacing can be a bit slow at times and the story-telling could be im…

Baki is a very unusual show. The story is that 5 of the most dangerous criminals, all on death row, decide to go to Tokyo in search of someone who can defeat them. It's a very interesting hook for a story, but it has a lot of issues that start becoming more apparent the further into the show you get. The main problem I'd say the show has is a bloated cast of characters with no main focus on any one of them. More characters get introduced faster than others are defeated, causing even more bloat later on. Baki is not only not the main focus, despite the show being named after him, but most of his little screen time tends to be uninteresting and feels like it is the worst part of the season. There was also a handful of uses of CGI that looks mostly unremarkable and messes up the momentum of t…

Baki - 2018 Anyone who knows Baki or has read the manga knows what they are getting into. The story of Baki is not about martial arts, rationality, logic, explanations, or good fights. It's all about the silliest and most bizarre scenario possible that you can write while making a fight. That's about how Baki can be put into words. Is your face gone? Don't worry, band-aids will take care of it. Your hand is gone? Let's stitch it up! Did you lose 40 liters of blood? Don't worry, just a drop! Have you suffered a fatal injury or are you even dead? Your doctor is your friend and Son of God, he will help you. Combine that with relatively unambitious combat, slow pacing, and at the beginning horrible CGI (EP 5-12) and some of the dumbest dialogue around? Then you have BAKI. If this still doe…

I'm going to be one of those guys who say, please, watch the OG Baki Anime. Baki is a weird case of an identity crisis. The show has been in the dark for decades before a continuation was announced, yes, you heard it, this is a sequel to a two seasons series from the early 2000s, the dated animation might scare some people away, but please, give it a chance before proceeding to watch this season. That aside, if you just wanna jump in to get a better grasp of the memes, then knock yourself out, this show is a minefield for memes, almost every line of dialogue mocks common sense in all sorts of metrics until you realize you're watching Baki, a show that invites you to open your head, grab your brain out, seat it next to you and shares a bowl of popcorn over a streamline of episodes, it is t…

Before I make a review I'm reviewing for both the netflix baki shows baki hanma and baki not the previous ones. The story was cool it is very simplistic but I needed the break from complicated storyline from anime so it was good. I know many stuff doesn't make sense and it doesn't need to be. The manga is crazier but I won't touch on that. Even if you haven't watched the past animes you will still understand the plot and anyways I like the story. The art is cool quite unique but I don't like some cgi parts but in the later seasons they haven't used it much, so they have improved and most stuff looks pretty natural so it's cool. The sounds is one of my favorite parts even if they reuse it a lot I love the soundtracks they totally match the theme the VA's did a good job voicing the chara…

Don't let these other fuck heads deter you from watchin this show, it's a masterpiece when it comes to this particular genre. (and no, it's not an anime directed towards homos) that's like sayin boxing and mma are directed towards gays. (no malice towards the other side of the court, what you do in you're life is a-ok in my book, power to you my homo and lesbo readers) im just reassuring that this anime is badass no matter what other people think about it. if you want a show purely about the worlds strongest mothafucka, this is the show for you. 10/10 added bonus----if you like this show check out Kengan Ashure and records of Ragnarök.

I want to start with a back story: I first watched Baki when it came out in 2018 and I didn't like it at all and I thought that it is a garbage anime. Four years later I visited my friend and he offered that we watch the first episode of Baki again and I was very skeptical but I gave it a shot and I found it quite surprising that I liked it a lot. Back in 2018 I searched deep plot on every anime that I watched and searched for logic explanations in bizzare scenes and when I didn't found an explanation I claimed that the anime is shit. As the years past I learned to let go my mind and taught myself to just watch and enjoy the anime whether it's logical or not and that is why when I rewatched Baki again in 2022 I looked it in a positive way. The plot of Baki is not deep with twistis and…

This was one of the best animes I have watched and probably the best martial arts, fighting, hand-to-hand combat type anime. If you love those types of animes which has an overpowered character, you will love this anime. There are so many characters in this that have the capacity to become your favorite. There's not much of a plot for this. But every character has a background story and good ones. It has every type of martial arts included as well as some weaponry. Filled with passionate hand-to-hand combat. If you love hand-to-hand combat with overpowered beings, with someone who can be called "Strongest Creature on Earth", or with a convict who has enough power to go in and out of the safest prison whenever he wants, or with someone who can tear a chunk from a deck of cards effortless…

Full Disclaimer: This is review is about the series as a whole from S1-S3. The beginning really had me hooked, badass fights with badass fighters. I gradually lost interest when I began to think about how the fights happened and how the story was going in-between fights. that really took a toll on me but I pushed through and wanted Baki to achieve his goal. The ending of the 3rd season is what really did it for me. I felt like it was such a huge waste of my time. So much so, I turned on my computer and signed into my account just to make this review. I took great displeasure on how the story ended. If I was asked if I would recommend this show to others, the only way id recommend it is if they watch its purely for the fights and not to care about the rest of the story. The story is bad b…
