The downfall of the Naruto franchise didn't start with Boruto; it began the exact moment Black Zetsu backstabbed Uchiha Madara in the Fourth Shinobi World War. That single, infamous retcon replaced a meticulously built, ideologically driven villain with alien deities (the Otsutsuki). However, while Naruto Shippuden managed to limp across the finish line on the backs of pure nostalgia and emotional payoffs, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations takes those narrative flaws and amplifies them into a complete disaster.
A. The Things I Criticize:
1. The Death of Shinobi Identity
What made Naruto legendary was its tactical combat. I loved the hand signs, the elemental counters, the shadow clone deceptions, and the raw emotional weight behind the fights. Boruto completely butchers this identity. The s…

Boruto as an anime is so messed up. I read the manga and liked it so I went on to the internet and people hated it. I followed the guide from internet and watched only those. It's just a 7 out of 10 anime. The manga content episodes were good but the rest is just trash. I would say the family moments from the fillers are really wholesome but you can watch those on YouTube. This should have been a seasonal anime instead of weekly release. The timeskip should be a seasonal anime without 70 percent fillers bs. Addition of Kawaki is the best part. I really liked the new villans like Code and Jigen. Code might be my favorite character of this series. Their character designs are really good.

💫 In the Shadow of a Legend: Boruto and the Lost Soul
Spoiler Warning: Contains light spoilers for Naruto, Shippuden, and Boruto Part 1.
Naruto was never just an anime — it was a journey we all shared.
We grew up with him, cried with him, and refused to give up with him.
Every character — Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Jiraiya — carried a piece of our own hearts.
Every power gained came with sacrifice, loss, and growth.
Jiraiya’s wisdom, Itachi’s tragedy, Madara and Obito’s pain — they shaped not only the story, but us as viewers. Then came Boruto.
A sequel born from a legend, but without the same soul.
The world became more technological, the characters more shallow, and power was earned not through effort, but convenience.
No one truly suffers anymore.
No one pays the price that on…

In this review, I'll talk about Boruto's visit to the Mist Village.
The plan to assassinate Boruto during the visit to the Mist Village had a profound impact on me; it was an attack on the very peace that united the ninja nations.
Killing the Hokage's son within the Mist Village would have reignited the hatred between the Mist and the Leaf Village, destroying years of alliance and trust between villages that were once enemies.
It was an attempt to bring hatred into an era of peace.
But what makes this arc so interesting is how Boruto reacts.
Even though he's the target of a conspiracy, he remains calm and acts with surprising maturity.
Boruto resolves the situation intelligently, preventing the information from leaking and preventing the incident from becoming a reason for war between…

Yea, i love the Boruto manga, but the anime is a slop.
Horrible pacing, inconsistent animation, and atrocious filler arcs. Read the manga if you genuinely want to enjoy the peak that Boruto has to offer, but you will not find that from the manga.
A lot of people had high hopes for the Boruto anime, but unfortunately it fell victim to Studio Pierrot and their money grab of weekly episodes. Genuinely would have been far better had it been a seasonal anime and not just a load of filler crap.
Pros:
- Has enjoyable characters with some development from them, especially Boruto
- Is more upbeat, so if you've read the manga, it could be enjoyable to watch the filler. Also if you're really young or have kids, they might like the continuation of Naruto
- Naruto is in it... so if you're nostalg…

Is Boruto a good sequel to Naruto?
When I started Boruto back in 2022, I kept hearing everywhere that Boruto was a disgrace, a stain on the masterpiece that was Naruto. But knowing how people love to exaggerate, I jumped in with good intentions, convinced that Boruto couldn’t possibly be that bad of a sequel. And honestly, that very first intro scene — with Kawaki and Boruto facing off in a ruined Konoha, with powers and visuals still unknown to us — got me super hyped!
After that, we get introduced to Boruto’s world: the technological advancements of the ninja world, the new mentality of the aspiring ninjas. Whereas Naruto’s generation (and those before) grew up with rivalries and the constant threat of war, Boruto’s generation grows up in a world of peace. And I’ve got to say, during t…

Actually, anime is primarily made for a Japanese audience. If a series reaches 293 episodes, it’s because it is successful and well-received in Japan. Many of the references in Naruto and Boruto come from traditional Japanese culture. While many people around the world watch and enjoy the story itself, the deeper “magic” often lies in cultural elements that only Japanese viewers or those familiar with Japanese culture can fully appreciate.
What I mean is that the story is good, but it resonates more strongly with Japanese people, since audiences in other countries are used to different styles of comedy and drama in movies or TV shows. Because of this, international viewers might not fully understand or enjoy everything in the same way. In the end, it’s important to remember that the main…

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations carries the difficult responsibility of continuing the legacy of Naruto while telling a story about a completely different generation. Instead of beginning in a world defined by war, tragedy, and survival, the story opens during an era of peace. The shinobi world has already endured its greatest conflicts, and the villages now exist in a time of diplomacy, technology, and modernization. This shift immediately changes the tone of the narrative. The struggle is no longer about surviving constant war, but about discovering purpose in a world that believes the worst battles are already over. At the center of this new era stands Boruto Uzumaki, the son of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. Unlike the lonely childhood Naruto endured, Boruto grows up surrounded by…

Honestly, I don’t get the hate. People keep comparing Boruto to Naruto, but this is not Naruto’s story. It’s the next generation. Why would we expect them to be worse off in terms of skills? That’s not how progress works lols we’re literally in the AI era now.
The anime-canon episodes are quite important for character development. You get to know main and side characters better, and it gives the story more heart beyond just big fights. Also, seeing the old gen as parents is lowkey wholesome. ❤️
If you go into Boruto expecting Naruto 2.0, you’ll be disappointed. However, if you watch it for what it is — the growth of a new generation in a different era — you’ll find it’s actually a meaningful continuation. Give it a real chance. Just skip the obvious fillers 😄

The depressing, unnecessary sequel.
Is Boruto bad? Yes, but there are many reasons for that. However, before I point out the points that make me think this, I would like to describe my first impression of the anime:
The first episode was simply cinematic, with Konoha completely destroyed even with Naruto as Hokage and only Boruto left to face the powerful threat that Kawaki represented at that moment, both with a stunning and imposing look. It was a great start to the anime. At the time this was happening, many things were going through my head, such as what happened to Konoha and its ninjas? What are Kawaki's powers and what is Karma? Above all, the question everyone asked themselves was, what happened to Naruto?
Well, it was a very impressive first impression right away, but it's a sh…

If you love anything about OG Naruto and Shippuden, try everything possible to skip this disaster it’ll ruin everything for you and you gain nothing except hate the OG Naruto. There’s nothing worth watching in this show, skip it please!
QUICK SPOILER:
Kurama was used as a plot device that did nothing but ridicule the growth we seen him go through from Naruto to Shippuden killed off for a 5 min power up that couldn’t even finish off Isshiki. The provocative part is there were so many alternative they could have used not to mentioned how nerfed they were in that fight to begin with.
All the promising kids from OG Naruto amount to nothing but fat fucks that eat dirt from a single punch (this applies to Naruto and Sasuke as well) everytime. There’s a sudden surge of overpowered alien char…

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is hands down one of the most overhated yet underrated anime out there, especially considering how it gets lumped in with the "overhyped sequel" criticism. Sure, I get that it’s not Naruto, but it's still got a ton of potential and fun moments that often get overshadowed by all the negativity. The plot focuses on Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto's son, who's trying to find his own way in the world of ninjas without being in his dad's shadow. There are definitely moments when it feels like the show is trying to recapture the magic of the original Naruto series, but it also carves out its own identity with some fresh ideas and a new generation of characters.
Despite the criticism, Boruto is a show that has its heart in the right place. It takes the foundation laid by N…

After finishing Naruto, I decided to give Boruto a shot. I’d heard a lot of people call it terrible, but I figured, for the sake of Naruto, I’d give it a chance. Big mistake. I regret that decision for the rest of my life.
Let’s get one thing straight: Boruto is not like Naruto. While Naruto had a lot of filler, at least some of it was fun or added something to the characters. Boruto’s anime, on the other hand, is just... bad. The fact that nearly 0% of it is considered filler makes it even worse because you’re stuck watching canon episodes that feel pointless or poorly written. It drags the legacy of Naruto through the mud, and that hurts as someone who grew up loving the original series.
Here’s the thing—the manga is actually pretty good. It’s not perfect, but it’s way more focused and…

8.5/10...THAT ENDING SLAPS
I watched this without having watched Naruto or Naruto shippuden and I am glad because I knew that watching it after would just have made me compare the two side by side, and without Naruto's influence this anime is a solid 8.5/10...Boruto is such a raw character, nothing like his father but at the same time so much like him? I loved the fact that he was not written just to please the audience and was made into something unique!
I can see why people aren't very enthusiastic about it...Naruto for them is peak as well as nostalgia BUT as I said watching Boruto without having watched Naruto first really made my opinion differ so much from others.
Every character has their own demons to fight, being the child of a famous personality isn't always sunshine and rainbo…

Do you think Naruto is a complete character(whose story is complete)?
If you only consider until the point when he became Hokage, then Yes.
But that's not true. He became Hokage at the age around 30. It means more than Half of his life is still remaining(Considering 70-80 to be Average life time).
In Boruto, He Became Hokage then we see him being tired and exhausted all the time. If someone like Naruto who have Insane amount of Chakra get exhausted with Hokage's work then I wonder how previous Hokages managed to do it so. We also don't see him making Shadow Clones to do Paper Work, of all the explanation I read on Internet, Only one which seems convincing is: Writers wanted to create some ridiculous Problem for Boruto.
We also saw in Boruto How badly Naruto is Nerfed. Naruto has vast am…

Well, if you are expecting to watch this series as some sort of naruto's sequel you're getting it kinda wrong. If I were you I'd stop at naruto and that's it. There is just way too much new technology-based stuff that really doesn't relate with the original content.
I'd honestly prefer to play ninja outside and to hit the gym than watch this one. Just get an extra set of muscles. In my opinion this is only worth to watch under one scenario. If you want to impress someone in a bar about how to do sign language and you somehow manage to trick them into thinking that your jutsu signs are really amazing then you might just get laid, take advantage of that!
Now in a more serious way, if you have a bunch of free time you can just watch it but between watching this or cooking pasta let's just s…

Honestly didn't even properly watch it all, watched all the manga canon episodes, some filler/anime canon episodes that I read the summary for and thought I would enjoy. this show would easily be an 8 or higher if they didn't fill it with unnecessary filler and boring plot to allow the manga to get ahead. A lot of this boring plot is what they call "anime canon" which doesn't happen in the manga but adds to the story. It really just adds plot holes and confusion and are some of the most boring episodes I have ever watched. Looking at the imdb ratings alone and noticing that manga canon episodes get more than 8.0/10 sometimes even 9-10/10, while filler episodes get as low as 4.0/10 just tells you enough about this anime. I just had to vent my frustrations after realizing the potential this…

The rating of boruto is just exaggerated. The show is not bad. It has perfect blend of old and new characters. I was hesitant while watching this after seeing the hate on the internet. People follow the trend of hate. This show is just the level of Naruto classic iif you only see the manga eps. The storytelling is also great. You wil feel nostaligic if you are a naruto fan. ik fillers are a headache bc there is nothing seperating canon and fillers. You can only watch these eps and you will not miss anything and you will be saved from the fillers Ep 1,19-23,39,53-66,148-151,181-189,193-208,212-220,287-293
and also watch ep 13 and 14 bc there is a backstory of an important character in there

My principle take is as follows - Boruto is no worse than the original title
Boruto's plot is no worse than Naruto's plot. In many ways, it follows the tropes of the original, but at the same time, Boruto's story literally makes you believe in a certain plot twist... I'm talking about the main conflict that makes you wonder whether the main character is actually a good guy
the action has always been questionable with the franchise, but now it's not a lot of ninja techniques, of which there were so many in the original that it made for stupid moments when the author himself no longer remembered what worked. In Boruto, there is usually one special technique for a character, and the entire action is an attempt to figure it out. Literally did fights with JoJo.
The only downside is that we l…

Before I begin kind of small SPOILER alert ( that is why I marked it as Spoiler warning NO so don't worry), I am not going to talk about specifics but you can get some of idea of the plot, kind of... ( it will not impact your watching experience you will just get little pieces from the story from here and there and will not spoil any of the plot)
So lets start of easy the sound track like in the original is like an 8/10-9/10 at times. Animation has been improved since Naruto so ill give it a 7/10 (that is compared to stuff that madhouse and Ufotable have been making in the same year as it came out and giving it some points because its mass produced and you cant compare a 12-24 ep anime to a 250+ one )
Getting all that out of the way I come to the plot: I have never seen such "random bul…
