It entered the 21st century still showing why it’s arguably the biggest anime that has ever existed, with a consolidated fanbase eager to see the franchise triumph worldwide once again. Unfortunately, that return started on the wrong foot.
Here, transformations lost their meaning. In Super, almost every arc introduces a new one, many of them lacking real impact and quickly discarded afterward. The focus is clearly commercial first, with the story coming second. Dragon Ball also lost much of its narrative weight, as characters feel either retired or irrelevant. Goku and Vegeta often come across as puppets of Beerus and Whis, while the villains feel weak, lacking presence or real threat—far from the iconic antagonists like Cell, Buu, or Frieza.
And there’s no point even diving deep into th…

Dragon Ball Super was one of the classics i cant lie,i liked it even more than db and dbz and even if i am not a dragonball fan like everyone,i really liked the dragonball frenchise and Dragon Ball Super was the best in my opinion despite the other previous two that they are.
The animation i swear in this season was much greater than dbz and db,well because it appeared like it wasnt old animation as before so i really enjoyed the animations.
The story its nice,it is just the continuation from the Dragonball z and it was alright.
So overall Dragonball Super i liked it because it had more enemies and more beautiful fights than Dragonball Z and Dragonball and from me it has a score of a perfect 10/10 i cant say anything else.

DBS is okay. It’s fun for the most part and the fights can get epic, but the animation band the writing was definitely lacking, I’m not sure if it’s because it’s been a while when it released but they were definitely Rusty. Goku is still the same as before but way more cartoonish, I guess they were going for a more comedic route with the characters but it doesn’t work as well when the previous entry was so serious, they went from saving the world 3 times and dying more than once to Goku acting like he’s in middle school. Each arc varied in quality but the tournament of power was the best, the pacing was slow but compared to Z this is nothing. The animation improves a lot in that arc and the characters feel more in tune with how they are usually portrayed, it’s a much more even balance of c…

Dragon Ball Super is basically the "Boruto" of Dragon Ball (only a little better).
I started watching this sequel already aware that I would need to overlook several things established in DBZ, DBGT, and even DB Daima. So, the plot holes didn't surprise me; I was already mentally prepared for them.
Story:
The beginning is interesting. The Bills saga is definitely very good: it expands the Dragon Ball universe, introduces new concepts, and opens up several narrative possibilities. The problem comes right after, with the Frieza's return saga, which is simply awful. To this day I don't understand the need to bring this villain back. He had already fulfilled his role a long time ago, and this saga sounds like a tired repetition of what we've already seen before—boring and totally dispensable…

Dragon Ball Super was a fun anime, but it lacked the excitement of Dragon Ball and Z.
The only real dip in animation quality was when Goku first meets Beerus and Whis. You've probably seen clips of it online, if you follow Dragon Ball. I enjoyed the series over the movies for the beginning of the anime. The series adds much more content and Episode #1 is awesome with Mr. Satan.
I really enjoyed all of Dragon Ball Super except for the tournament arc. If I watch it again I may skip the whole Tournament Arc, I feel that strongly about it. The battles seemed to drag on forever and the end result of the Tournament was very predictable. That's the problem with it there was no real purpose other than watch how strong I am and I'm stronger. The tournament arc does have some merit, such as Godl…

Dragon ball has been, is and will continue to be a pillar of anime,as the grandfather of shounen and father of the "Big 3". A series that shaped a large portion of people's childhood and got them into anime ,as a whole, is now in a period of Crisis.
The direct continuation of Dragon ball Z , Dragon ball Super, follows the events of the Buu Saga's end. A presumably peaceful era ,overturned ,once again, by powerful entities ,giving us insights into the cosmological scale of the Dragon ball multiverse and the order of the cosmos, on which Dragon ball operates.
As much as I love Dragon ball Z ,which I grew up on, I hate the blasphemous sequel even more ,for it's character assassinations , bland filler episodes , inconsistent powerscaling, goofiness , soulless reappearances of older character…

I'm just going to be upfront—if I were to take pure subjectivity into this review, I think Dragon Ball Super is just as good as Dragon Ball Z, maybe even better in some ways. At the very least, I consider it a way better sequel than Dragon Ball GT.
However, even I can admit that objectively, Dragon Ball Super is very flawed, and there's a reason it's probably the most controversial Dragon Ball media of all time. GT is mostly disliked, with a handful of people who heavily defend it, while Super seems to have just as many loud fans as it does loud detractors, plus a bunch of people who are mixed on its execution.
That said, this is my review, so I'm going to start with what I personally love about it.
I really enjoy the tone correction that Toriyama and the writers continued from the Buu…

the definition of trash truly, bad planning shying away from manga which led to confusing plots, no story what so ever boring shaky screen fights with the worst impact visuals ive seen in anime history. i dont blame toriyama but man he can do better even in the manga the new sagas are just alt senarios from og dbz making something diffrent, i gave it 2 cuz they gave some characthers some value in the show other than that its a big ol ZERO for me, also transformations and power lvl is a joke in super no ltrly they didnt bother to make them feel unique at all save your time and read the manga if you really wanna know whats happening or watch a summary on youtube its better that way

It is really mediocre, It drags several of the problems that Z had and makes them worse, it changes many elements of the lore also unnecessarily and sometimes even ruins them like the continuation of Trunk's future in the black Goku saga that only ruins what Z built. The characters act in a Flanderized way even though fans argue against it. The villains are horrible and even if Z's villains weren't the greates thing either, at least they had much more charisma and better dynamics. Besides, Goku had never felt more Gary stu than in this series. The new elements are full of plot holes and bad writing it also feel really scare of changing anything.
I would not recomend it if you Dragon ball z Was not your childhood

What went wrong?...Everything.
Absolutely everything you could think of went wrong.
The animation is bad. The writing is god awful. Most of the new characters, especially from the other universes, suck ass and a vast majority of the action is just plain uninteresting to follow. I'm already not the biggest fan of fight scenes that stretch on and on and on but some of these were dissapointing on base levels such as emotional investment of who should win and who should lose.
The first two arcs are a slog to sit through as they are just extended recaps of the movies. If you haven't watched the movies, you'll likely not mind it, but if you do you can't help but compare each and every scene that is recreated in a typically much worse way.
When finally, FINALLY, there is some new stuff reveal…

IMO Dragon ball super was a downgrade from Dragon ball z & felt like an unnecessary series. However I'm glad that it was made because there are still many great parts of this show & badass moments. This series pivoted more into the Vegeta vs Goku rivalry while in DBZ Goku was stronger than Vegeta since after the saiyan saga. Ultra instinct was definetely the most hype bit about the series & some of those scenes were amazing in the TOP. However the TOP arc was filled with 20+ episodes of fights with random fighters that nobody actually cared about. It felt like they just reskinned the colours of 50 fighter & said their job was done. It would have been cool if they had put more effort into some of the designs but it was worth it for ultra instinct. Overall I enjoyed this show but it's not my…

This TV show is what happens when you don't involve the original creator as deeply as you should, make bullshit transformations and bait fights to sell toys (thanks a lot Bandai Namco) and try to do it "better than the manga" and fail miserably at it because none of the writing makes any sense.
Toei Animation used to be good at fillers because it was limited to the original manga. And now, having been given this much freedom to mess around with the story and characters to their full capacity, one can see what happens when a money hungry organisation can't get enough. A beloved franchise is turned into a joke.
Not to mention the dog shit character designs and the awful soundtracks by Sumitomo who clearly peaked at the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F movies.

Dragonball Super has its up's and downs. It starts off bad, picks up steam in Universe 6 v/s Universe 7 and the Zamasu saga, then spends too much time in filler before ending on a high with the Tournament of Power.
Animation: 7/10 Really bad in Battle of Gods and the Golden Frieza Saga. Some amazing episodes in Tournament of Power as if finally Toei Animation decided to get serious.
Forms: 8/10 Some great new forms such as Super Saiyan God and Ultra Instinct and some rather mediocre ones like Super Saiyan blue.
Story: 6/10: Not much in terms of storytelling, the Zamasu arc was definitely the most unique.
Music: 10/10 Music in this anime is amazing specially the Tournament of Power and Zamasu saga.
Fight scenes: 9/10 Hit v/s Goku, Goku vs Jiren, Goku vs Kefla and Vegeta v/s Top wer…

My rating would've been just 7/10, but I'm giving full because of the exaggeration of how bad it is from 1/10 reviewers. I share some of your frustrations too.
I'll start with what I disliked. The way they presented the different power levels was questionable. To state a quick example, one moment a certain form beats the shit out of this fella, the next saga, it became questionably weak. Some fights are also annoyingly painful to watch too. Too much dialogue in the middle of battles, but I suppose nothing beats how draggy mid-battle dialogues were in DBZ. Chichi barely got ANY screentime aside from being a patient wife and mother. She's the main character's wife yet Bulma gets the best lines lol (no hate, I adore Bulma and its understandable BUT) all the anime did was to make her look and…

Dragon Ball is an iconic anime series that has captivated audiences for decades. However, despite its popularity, the series has been criticized for having a mediocre storyline. The main issue with the story is its lack of depth and originality. The plot often revolves around the main character, Goku, engaging in battles with various villains, with little character development or exploration of themes beyond the surface level.
Additionally, the series tends to rely heavily on tropes and cliches of the shonen genre, such as power-ups, training arcs, and over-the-top action sequences, without adding anything new or innovative to the formula. The lack of nuance in the storytelling can make the series feel repetitive and predictable.
While Dragon Ball has its strengths, including memorable c…

favourite. Why!!!!!???
Becoz it has everything in as short episodes as possible and creator didn't stretch this one as
they did with some episodes in DBZ. GOKU and LUFFY are most SIMILAR characters I've seen and I like them Both including Zoro, VEGETA, FRIEZA these are BADASS characters. I must recommend to watch atleast DBS who is new Here and definitely Watch ONE PIECE WHOLE FROM START ATLEAST ONCE IN LIFE. Who saw some shorts before or some saga here , I'd say try Dragon Ball first then DBZ. Trust me they all worth to watch if you like shonen, action ANIME.

Dragon Ball Super might be the best anime I have watched so far. It requires a bit of investment to get to the good part but that is usual for any good anime like the original Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto and Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
If you haven't seen Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball GT, don't worry, that isn't required to enjoy the amazing story that awaits you. Dragon Ball Super is about Goku and Vegeta finding out about the realm of the gods by obtaining God Ki and the show pretty much is about them getting used and evolve using that power. For example, Goku has a form called Super Saiyan where his hair spike up, turn blond and is covered in a wild golden aura. With God Ki mixed with his regular ki, his hair turns turn blue instead and a tranquil blue aura surrounds…

I just finished DBS, this season was really so awesome, I never expected DB to have this much change, like the for the first time in DBS you actually try to think and predict, who is this, who is that, what are they gonna do, how and what. so many unpredictable outcomes and surprises, the addition of awesome characters like beerus, whis and several others, vegeta now prioritize his fam over fighting tsk tsk not like a certain someone saying ( But I was dead when Goten came to life ), getting to know other universes and the existence of a god, angel above them, then the supreme angel and xeno was really so incredible to watch.
as Great as ever 9 / 10.

What can I say about Dragon Ball Super? God, don't let it be your introduction to Dragon Ball lmao. This is a show to watch if you are a person that can't get enough Dragon Ball and you don't care how it comes to you. It's easy to hate because, well, it's bad, really bad. If you're comparing it to what spawned it, its a pretty embarrassing exploitation. If you compare it to other battle shounen coming out around Super's time, it's utter garbage and wins in no category. Its first OP is good and can stand up against others, but that's a negligible pro.
Story (4/10)
Its story is bad by any standard, DB or just in general - for the longest time you'd swear they were just doing whatever is necessary to make all their old characters show up again (I guess for merch-selling purposes). The story…

**This review contains MINOR SPOILERS**
First of all I want to say that this is my opinion on this anime and I don't want to get hated by you. I will review each arc one by one
Battle of Gods arc
This arc was OK and I mean it l. It had bad animation in many scenes, which is one of the reasons that Dragon Ball Super gets hated on by a lot of anime watchers. The story was pretty boring, much plot armor, only focused on goku and bad pacing.
6/10
Resurrection F arc This arc has every bad thing from Battle of Gods arc, but worse. It had terrible animation in some episodes, so much plot armor, characters pretty boring, bad story etc.
5/10
Universe 6 arc
This arc was kinda better than the other two arcs. It had better animation (KK x10)
Better pacing, better fights, better sound effects and…
