This is honestly my absolute favorite anime and I’m not even exaggerating. From the very first episode, I couldn’t put it down. It grabbed me instantly with its atmosphere, characters, and that perfect mix of mystery, action, and emotional chaos. And when I finally finished the series… I had to take a whole week off just to calm down. I was way too excited, and the idea that the anime might end ( only for a new season to suddenly appear) completely destroyed me in the best way. What really surprised me is how the story keeps going. There were moments where it genuinely felt like everything was wrapping up, like we were heading toward the final conclusion… and then BAM. an unexpected twist, a new arc, a new season, and suddenly I’m screaming into the void again. The plot just refuses to slo…

The second season of Bungo Stray Dogs takes a brief departure from the overarching conflict to deliver a short backstory on Dazai before returning to the main narrative. This decision was a welcomed one, as it touches on the information given previously and establishes future payoff. Each arc has been given the appropriate amount of time to resolve and fulfill expectations, and the greatly expanded cast had time to develop and feel relevant despite quick pacing. Atsushi, Kyouka, and Akutagawa had noticeably compelling character growth. This addition to the series was a significant improvement both in a more serious tone and interest in the story.

Bungo Stray Dogs 2nd Season is an extremely solid follow-up to the first season and a worthy contender.
Before I say anything else, this season is easily better than the first, Much more action packed and the arcs are alot more fleshed out. The plot of the anime is actually really thick this season, especially with the First Arc containing alot of lore for Dazai and on the Port Mafia itself. The character development throughout this season is really neat aswell there are some noticeable changes in behavior in some characters so be on the lookout for that because it can be really cool to see. Some moments are also really wholesome with the banter between characters and the non action or dramatic moments being really chill to watch.
The animation this season is noticeably better. Not with…

After watching Bungo Stray Dogs 2, I have nothing but praise for this series. So many mysteries and questions about Dazai's past that were left unexplained in season one have come to light. It has been exciting to see the chemistry between Dazai and Akutagawa when they were still in the same organization back then. And now, we also get a chance to see some new chemistry between Akutagawa and Atsushi. It was a joy to finally see some improvements and positive actions coming from Atsushi at last. In my opinion, Akutagawa is the star of this season; the first impression I had of this character from season one has been totally wiped, and now I think he is a great character.
The artwork and music were all very fitting with the show. All in all, I have tremendously enjoyed this series.

Bungou Stray Dogs 2nd Season follows the battle between the 3 main gangs that were introduced previously on the 1st season , the Detective Agency , Port Mafia and finally The Guild . In all honesty , this season felt that had quite an interesting pacing regarding the action and the character development .
First and foremost , the 4 starting episodes revolve around Dazai's past and how he became to be a Detective Agency's executive and it was ALRIGHT to say the least , very cliche stuff that is oftenly used in development . In order to not spoil anything , I will highlight only that Dazai became a " good citizen " just because he was forced to by ethical means and for his will of being a good friend .
Secondly , the rest of the season continues at the present where it was left of . If I…

This season is sadly my last favoritte seasons of the whole anime.
I mean, they explain some back story of the characters which is perfekt and just how I like it, but there was something about the main story that just felt slow, at least in the beginning. It picks itself up and become better and more interesting towards and end.
I belive maybe they fokus on the backstory of New character each season and this season was not the characters i was interested in. So maybe you like it.
Either way if u liked season 1 i actually do recommand you watch this season and just bear with it, cause it will be better towards the end and the story and informtion given in this anime is making it easier to understand what is happening In the 3rd season which i also recommand watching, but u can read tha…

English: First let me congratulate you on this wonderful season
The first arc about the past of daizai was great, I like this model of explains well the past of the character, at the end of the season we see that the past is much deeper still
The guild arc left me very neutral, it was neither good nor bad, it can be said that the anime did the basics the right way.
The development of the protagonist is kind of dubious yet but I have nothing to complain about
Anime super recommended but would not get into my favorites, Anime 8/10
PT-BR: Primeiro deixe-me parabeniza-los pela essa temporada maravilhosa
O primeiro arco sobre o passado de daizai foi otimo, gosto desse modelo de explica bem o passado do personagem, ao final…

It's a solid improvement on the first season with a couple of strong emotional through lines. It all felt very surface level in S2, and while not everyone has evolved beyond that, there's been some genuine progression for more than a few characters, including a great deal from Dazai who stole the show in the first arc. The final fight works well enough to get your blood pumping in the usual Shonen way while adding something a little extra for our characters to get over. The use of gifts has also gotten more interesting and impactful. With an MC who still seems pretty basic and arcs that are, in the end, pretty toothless though, I can only say that this series has improved, not yet evolved.

This season is awesome. We get to see a lot more interactions between the mafia and the ADA and they're gold. As usual, the art is beautiful; the coloring and sharpness are so pleasing to watch. Akutagawa has a cute little simping moment in the end. It's cute. This anime is just really good in every aspect. The build-ups and pacing are great. The action scenes are well-crafted and there is no unnecessary, braindead, monologues. Thank god! Plus, you'll come to love more characters, and guess what. All their actions make sense. Hooray! It's a good sequel to the first season. No let downs. Just more good moments~

Self pity, the anime.
A show where every single cast member seems to have a tragic history that lead them down the spiral of extreme self pity until they ran into some mentor figure and learned to pity themselves in secret.
Animation / Art / General Visuals - 8/10
-----------------------------------------------
I would say it's a small upgrade over Season 1. All in all very enjoyable. Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10
------------------------------------------
Quality remains high from Season 1. No complaints.
Story - 8/10
-------------
Season 2 of this anime took a very different turn for the first few episodes, where we were graced with one of the better flash-back mini-arcs in recent history. Dark, gloomy, tragic. I would say it was the high point of the season.

Here is where, if you were on the fence about Bungo Stray Dogs S1, you’ll be rewarded for your watching efforts.
BSD S2 is a fun, exciting, and wacky action romp, with enough dark moments to keep to an edgy aesthetic and occasionally question the nature of humanity. The art, animation, and score all get an upgrade this season, while the amazing work by both seiyuu and dub actors remains at a high level. While the mysteries of this so-called mystery series remain relatively lackluster, the overall plot becomes more complex and exciting, with a three-way gang war and more. At the same time, if you grew to like the episodic and character-driven nature of the first season, there are still hints of that there; characters grow more complex as they’re thrown into…

Bungou Stray Dogs 2nd Season reviews :
Each character has its own depth, very good. I think Dazai should be the only main character here in this season because 3/4 of the episode talk about Dazai only.
It's the first anime that I've seen so powerful and it's also the first time that both the protagonist and the villain have won together. A lot of sence are very humor, goood laugh.
Art : 10/10
Even the first season is goood already.
Sound : 10/10
Love both op and ed. Story : 10/10
This anime shows Dazai in the past and his partner and how he becomes a detective by now.
Enjoyment : 10/10
Laugh, tear then laugh again !
Overall : 10/10
I'm a simple man, i laugh, i rate it high

This season was a whole lot of fun!
Starting off I was confused as hell. If you go DIRECTLY from S1 to here, it feels like a very sudden shift. It took me like half of the first episode to understand what was going on. Despite that, this season was great. A lot of great backstory for some of the characters, and the introduction of the new characters was FANTASTIC. I was gripping the edge of my seat.
I also would recommend watching dub for this arc and honestly the whole show. All I'm gonna say is accents can be hard to pick up if characters are speaking in a language you don't know.

Tbh the first season was an absolute disappointment in my opinion with respect to the hype. I am the kind of person who doesn't continue a series if its not worth it and it took me around 6 months to finish s1 which only had 12 eps . The story for first season was fast paced , the world and character building was not up to mark . I often found myself trying to complete it just for the sake of completing it. After abandoning the series for good I saw trailer for season 4 and it piqued my interest. So I decided to watch season 2 and it was good.
The anime basically saved itself in season 2 . The first 4 eps was a a good arc gave me a shit ton of emotions and the dark eerie feeling was absolutely something to die for . The anime did a great job of not overwhelming the audience as it did in s…

This season is definitely better than the first one with the amazing adaptation of Dazai's mafia past and the conflict between three organizations.
STORY [7/10]:
The story doesn't pick up where season 1 left. The first four episodes of season 2 revolve around Dazai's past from the perspective of his friend Odasaku (which is the adaptation of the second light novel) and everything after that takes place after season 1.
I read the novel before watching this season and already loved the story and the newly introduced characters there. They did a beautiful job adapting it. The tone of the first four episodes is different from the rest of the anime and it is much more of a crime mystery/thriller, but that just makes it more intriguing.
The rest of the season is about the three-way conflict bet…

I enjoyed the first season well enough, but this second season has been difficult.
I'm sure others will disagree with me on this, but season two is essentially a heavy focus on the Port Mafia. And for that reason - I couldn't continue.
I'm typically the type of person that enjoys broadening backgrounds and character development, but I really couldn't care enough about it this time around. Mainly because I really didn't care all that much about the mafia in the first place, and all of its subordinates. Thus, making the transition of character perspectives frustrating.
It also is beginning to get jumbled in plot lines, now adding another group of people into the mix.
I really enjoyed the original story arch, but they've gone so far from that. It's too bad.

If you like good shows with awesome characters, “Bungou Stray Dogs”, one of the most popular shows in the genre, might be worth to waste a little time on. It is a manga adaptation with powerhouse studio Bones at the helm of animation.
As one might expect from the name alone, Bones did an amazing work with this adaptation. From the design of the characters and scenes to the powers each of them have, it is all very well executed and done. The fights are good and exciting and have a good flow and balance to them. It is not a Bones masterclass, like shows such as “Mob Psycho 100” but still is a noteworthy show, animation wise.
The plot is actually well written and despite being, specially at the beginning, isolated cases that change every few e…

it seems i am the only one who is not enjoying it to the fullest but i will say my opinion even if one one agrees with me :
i love the god tier music, openings, action and detailed characters on every side. i also love how book names like moby dick , and author names are used + everything was badass this season especially. the plot is easily 9+/10 imo but things like disconnected story + not killing bad guys in season 2 since ep7 has been troubling me...
best way to describe this season as of now (first watch and not my rewatch) is : going on a journey where the destination is heaven and the route and experience is the best possible but the brides connecting the roads are filled with holes and make you nauseous.

Ahhh man, I feel bad for the people who watched the first season and gave up.
(Minor spoilers ahead...)
I almost gave up on this series myself because of how mediocre the first season was. Full of stupid jokes and weird episodes but somehow I managed to finish it and then came the second season which blew me away! Especially the first 4 episodes where we get to learn more about Dazai's past and his reasons for leaving the Port Mafia. Those 4 episodes were so good that it made me fall in love with the series. Oda and Ango are two characters faaar more interesting than any member of the Armed Detective Agency and it was nice to take a break from those guys. But still, even after we move past that story, the plot gets better, more serious, with less stupid jokes.
The artwork is amazing and t…

Overall, it's just as well made as the first season, but the two arcs in this season are much more interesting than anything offered in the first season.
I really like the dark era arc that encompasses the first four episodes of this season, it's notably more serious than anything else in the first two seasons which makes it stand out to me. While the first half of this arc is unremarkable, the second half is absolutely fantastic and still hurt my feelings even though I already knew what would happen in the end. This arc also had to have a few minor changes from the novel's source material to make it work in a television format, almost all of these changes are for the worse in my opinion but most of it was unavoidable given the differences between the two mediums. What bugs me the most th…
