I felt that this movie did not respect the original show. The characters, to me at least, sounded less sincere than they did in the show and more dramatic or performative. No character development occurred during the movie. The plot was not interesting: the villains were shallow, defeated quickly/easily, and it felt repetitive if you have watched the previous parts of the series. It feels like a long "filler" episode.
Ultimately it felt like the creators did not care about the story and just wanted to monetize the brand. The only thing I liked about it was the appearance of CC & Lelouch together, but their relationship didn't change or develop.

As the title should imply, this resurrects the classical iconic anime and its classical iconic protagonist, Lelouch, stemming seemingly divergent from the ending. If you thought that Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch, Part 2 was the absolute end, I do not blame you, it was supposed to be, and for the next 8 years it ended, it left a lasting impression on the viewer and fans, creating its own genre of anime endings
As for what actually transpires in this anime, it is fresh breath of Lelouch doing what he had done in the previous seasons of Code Geass, working meticulously by his traits to solve a problem with a society, for the next time after his shelf life had ended canonically from the main series
Recommendation is a prime watch for those who desire to see an extension of the ending, one…

The good thing about failed sequels is that they help you understand why the original was good in the first place. When comparing with the sequel’s flaws, the qualities of the original series become quite clear. Yep, that’s pretty much the only redeeming quality that I could find in the long awaited Code Geass sequel that is Fukkatsu no Lelouch. By comparing this movie to the original series, I will explain how it failed to capture the essence of what made Code Geass a masterpiece.
If one had to describe what the Code Geass series was about, the first thing that would come to the mind would surely be mech battles, cool superpowers, mind games, a protagonist constantly farming aura for the hell of it, and maybe waifus. But that’s not what Code Geass was at its core. Mech battles and mind…

Becoming a puppet for Disney or Amazon is simply horrible. I'm doing the 'just forget' series that continues after R2.
This is just like Terminator 2 after movie Terminator Dark Fate, Starship Troopers - Starship Troopers 2, Saw 1 - Saw 3D, Karate Kid 1984 - Karate Kid 2014...
They just screwed I don't have any hope now for next Code Geass Series I closed. Locked I ended up all series after R2
Needs to give veteran medal to who watched this
Supposedly set in the future but new writers needs to know something about Science. Incredibly stupid, have lots of can't happen in future things
and why they still using Iron cooking pot in this movie can be use holographic cooking pot instead wow future thing

As far as anime movie continuations to a full series (yeah, I know this is supposed to follow the movie versions of Code Geass, but come on now...) I was both impressed and surprised at how much I enjoyed it. While not a perfect continuation - there simply isnt time to address all the aspects you might be interested in with the rest of the plot happening - the amount of history that was addressed was great.
The plot may be confusing to some at first, deals heavily with C's World and the repercussions of actions taken in the series, but on re-watches I felt it is more manageable. The antagonists are interesting and the challenge to the main characters is significant. Many of the included characters get their moments to shine. Highly recommended for the fans of Code Geass.
As for the TV Se…

This review assumes the reader has already watched either the original two seasons of Code Geass, or the recap movie trilogy, as this particular movie, Lelouch of the Resurrection, follows on from the trilogy (which created its own timeline).
Something just felt so off with this movie to me, that it did not feel sincere at all. Like, literally every single character from the previous two seasons of the original show / movie trilogy are all somehow ok with Lelouch now, a guy who had angered both sides of the conflict between Japan and Britannia, a guy who had ordered the deaths of thousands of people, brain-raped everyone around him, and literally massacred children.
It's just bizarre and contrived to suddenly surround him with people who are totally fine with being in his presence. The…

After the ending of season 2 of "Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch" it's comunity felt divided on the ending, whilst many didn't like it others said it was perfectly written. This movie, from my perspective, is above anything a way to fulfill the wishes of the fans that didn't like the ending of season 2 as this movie isn't canon, it is a filler alternative ending. This movie also serves as extra content for those who loved "Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch" and specially it's cast. If you watched the two season and didn't particularly like it then this movie won't do much for you and as it is technically a filler and you can just skip it but if you, just like me, absolutely loved the main show then I would wholeheartedly recommend this movie it will be two more hours of this exquisite cast(o…

Ahh... Code Geass has returned. If you are a fan of Code Geass, but you wanted to see a "more" happy ending, this is for you, though admitdly, the story isn't as good as the main series (though it is part of a alternative "movie" timeline) but, you really cannot expect the same depth that the series provided, since Afterall, this is a single movie.
The Animation has vastly improved (since it has been a decade Afterall) and the scenes are much much more fluid, and I welcome the fan-service, seeing Lelouch and the whole gang back together is heart-warming, and I more then anything base my scores on my enjoyment then anything else, and let me tell you...I REALLY enjoyed this.
But I do feel that the sound department was lacking quite a bit, but it is refreshing to see code geass scenes with…

Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (2019)
Not 100% sure this was necessary but it was very good all the same. A very different dynamic with the characters than we have seen before. I do always enjoy the combat with this series just wish they spent a bit more on sound.
The story is very side story setting but they have made it part of the main story. It would have made sense to have had a similar thing in between the other seasons. Now they have made a continuation it means only one thing with how it ended before: Money speaks. There is obviously a large enough fan base to continue this which is fantastic and they have decided to continue its adaptation.
The sound is great apart from I just wish you had the depth of the combat you get in things like Danmachi or No Game No Life Zero. By th…

Ahh yes, Code Geass. The anime with so much circlejerking for the MC that any sane guy is surprised how did this fandom didn't get caught in the stereotype radar (both the circlejerker and sane guy is me). For one thing, I loved the original TV show so much; the narration is pretty dynamic, Lelouch/Zero's strategies putting down the opponents' tactics, Lelouch going through his existential crisis, watching the Black Knights grow as if its your child, etc, etc. But the first three movies didn't hit the mark, if anything, they are just recap movies with much of the vital points removed for the worse.
At this point of time, I am quite sure the people working on Code Geass sat around a table in the board room thinking about how to make things worse and pull a trollface on their fans. Someone…

Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch
The long-awaited sequel to the second season of Code Geass and the revelation surrounding Lelouch's fate. One already had the feeling that there would be more behind it and that the protagonist did not find his end. Here, more small questions and his presence are cleared up.
Of course, it is understandable that this fact is a thorn in the side of many. Lelouch was an iconic protagonist who probably made the greatest self-sacrifice and is the model antihero that everyone would think of.
In that sense, for me, this movie didn't ruin the ending of the second season. Lelouch was already someone who would gladly die for his goals in the first season (especially noticeable in the Euphy arc). But that doesn't mean he would just turn down opportunities to be re…

The movie was really great, I liked it a lot.
The animations were great and the mix with Cgi was also great.
The beginning as well as the end I find well done.
The middle was entertaining and there were also a few good moments, although I must say that some things were quite elongated.
The characters seemed to have more quality to me and I don't just mean the animation.
Little Lelouch was also very cute and Mama C.C. is really great.
The story with the enemies wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. They seemed so stuffed in.
As with the two seasons, I wanted more romance between certain characters, but didn't get anything unfortunately. Again, it was in vain, even if some scene spoke for it, it was just non-existent.
!!!Spoiler!!!
Lelouch and Suzaku didn't get together until…

Well I just saw the movie that is the continuation of the series and the truth is not bad but I feel that the end of the seasons was very good, and the end of the film seems unnecessary to me, also cc does not kiss leluch and that it bothers me. At least one little kiss I wanted to see, nothing :(. Taking that very good, entertaining. The animation is excellent as always, the soundtrack incredible. We see our favorite characters again, it was a very nostalgic movie. But the end of the anime I found it a 10 and the end of the movie a 9.
En español:
Bueno acabo de ver la película que es la continuación de la serie y la verdad no está mal pero siento que el final de las temporadas fue muy bueno, y el final de la película me parece innecesario, también c.c no se besa a leluch y eso me molest…

What was good about it:
- The villain's power made me kind of interested.
- The visuals are good, both robots and people.
What was meh about it:
- Music. TV series got a lot of memorable tracks, in this movie I noticed maybe one, but it's a variation of a theme from the series, so whatever.
What was bad about it:
- The story. I understand that it is difficult to make decent a standalone movie sequel to TV series, especially series like THE Code Geass, where you have to establish both the main character, some new characters AND tell a story that makes the audience care. But it is no excuse. The whole plot of this movie is how the bad guys take something from us and how we need to take it back. The villains' plan is never thoroughly explained, so you don't feel there is anything at stake.…

On MAL this is an 8, in reality it's closer to a 7. For any longterm fan of the series, this will be a good watch and you'll be happy to see the cast back again, the animation and story is very entertaining.
Lelouch is portrayed poorly compared to the anime series and the ending makes it clear that he is a different person after his death. Although overall the story was very good Lelouch's chess-like battles were concluded in much less interesting/believable methods as compared to the anime series.
1 less point for character when they drew C.C's ass like a long back

Code Geass had a fantastic ending. A perfect ending, some would even say. Tears were shed, fangirls were heartbroken, and viewers were extremely satisfied.
So why does this movie exists?
Now, it's not a terrible movie. The plot is decent, it's not rubbish. The characters aren't out of character, they're still relatively the same. The animation is just as good, and the soundtrack feels the same. It should just be like the old Code Geass, right?
Wrong. This movie is on the surface just like the old Code Geass, but it lacks spirit. The movie feels very unnecessary, and by the time it ends it still doesn't convince me that Code Geass deserves a sequel. That's my main issue with it. At the end of the 2 hour runtime, I feel like I wasted my time. This doesn't feel like Code Geass. Yes, Lelou…

Sooo you've finished the Code Geass R1 and R2, well congrats here's what happens in an alternate universe, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;Surrection, that's right a film, feeling a bit down because the Rebellion ended? Well congrats because this is the closest of what will happen after the Rebellion.
The film is 1 hour and 53 minutes which is fairly long, the presentation of the Mechas is just so good that even if you're not that much in to the mecha genre you'll still love this film. The fight scenes are just really outstanding because CGIs are not use in them, Sunrise really did a wonderful job producing this film.
The film was released back in 2019 earning at least ¥1,899,872,257 in the Japanese box office.

This movie does not need to exist. That's what I thought when I went in to the movie. Code Geass S2 ended on an absolute perfect note and the most probable outcome is that whatever new thing they added would just detract from that. yet my curiosity got the better of me and I went ahead and watched this movie.
Though it doesn't have the complexity or drama of it's predecessor. It certainly functions well as an epilogue to the original story. All the og characters get their heart-warming closure moments and there is a passable battle arc also.
For long-time fans, it's more of the characters you loved. It won't make you clench your buttcheeks or sob tears of betrayal, but hey, we get to see more of Lelouch and C.C being a married couple as well as Kallen and Suzaku fight side by side for t…

Its an awaited happy end (no spoilers)
If you are satisfied with the ending of season 2 I'd say leave it be. But if you want to see a happier ending then this movie is highly recommended to wrap up your experience.
The story is seems generic and bland, the build up is also bad but what can you expect from a 2 hour movie with that much to pack. A new enemy appears and a new story begins, this movie doesn't have any direct plot relation with season 2 but its more of an afterstory.
The animation is way better than R1 and R2. The characters feel so much more alive, tho some may have slightly different tones and attitude from the original series.
So don't trust the whining fanboys who write bad reviews about how a 2 hour movie couldn't have a 24 episode worth of sophisticated storyline. Ch…

A Whimpering Finish to an Anime that once Burned so Very Bright(LR);
"Code Geass 'R3-ish'/Lelouch of the Re;surrection" is an anime film sequel to a set of recap movies set in a parrel timeline to the original decade old Code Geass anime. Confusing enough yet? As a product it has all the fanservice of Madoka Magica Rebellion's first hour and a half but without any of the narrative or thematic relevance of that film, it's as franchise altering as End of Evangellion but without an inch of that film's spine and as utterly pointless and irrelevant as Gundam 00's Trailblazer movie. Let's take a spoiler free look to begin (It's worth mentioning you need to of at-least seen the Code Geass Recap movies as a perquisite to this film).
Music and Animation - The music of the film is it's strong poin…
