Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Introduction

In the year 2010, the Holy Empire of Britannia is establishing itself as a dominant military nation, starting with the conquest of Japan. Renamed to Area 11 after its swift defeat, Japan has seen significant resistance against these tyrants in an attempt to regain independence. Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student, unfortunately finds himself caught in a crossfire between the Britannian and the Area 11 rebel armed forces. He is able to escape, however, thanks to the timely appearance of a mysterious girl named C.C., who bestows upon him Geass, the "Power of Kings." Realizing the vast potential of his newfound "power of absolute obedience," Lelouch embarks upon a perilous journey as the masked vigilante known as Zero, leading a merciless onslaught against Britannia in order to get revenge once and for all. I personally am a aot glazzer and i was damn sure that i won't find and anime that will be the level of aot but when i completed Code geass i sat their for 30min and just thinking about what have i just experienced than i had to make a choice if i should keep code geass on 1st on my ranking and put aot on 2nd or put code geass on 2nd and let aot be on first after thinking very much i and by analyzing every aspect i choose to keep aot on 1st because i think that aot i perfect in every aspect , i put aot on 1st that doesnt mean that code geass is inferior to aot i personally think both are at same level but still i have to rank right . now if i talk about lelouch i have never seen a character so great as him he just to perfect , he has emotions he takes his decisions logically and not throug…

A couple of years ago a good friend of mine recommended me Code Geass so I decided to give it a try. At first I honestly found it extremely boring and almost dropped it but once the story started progressing, it became really interesting. So here is my review: The characters are amazing, especially Lelouch and CC and I really liked how their personalities and motivations developed throughout the story. The concept is also really interesting with all the strategy, politics, war and plot twists. And the music and soundtracks are just incredible. Some of the best anime soundtracks I've heard. The ending was honestly amazing and probably one of my favorite parts of the anime. I know a lot of people don't like it, mostly because it wasn't what they wanted or expected but personally I thought…

i really wanted to like code geass, i had very high expectations whilst watching it.did they live up to the expectations? well not really. i watched death note a while back and the similarities are very noticeable. with death note i will say it’s very very very overhyped, the storyline doesn’t make sense towards the end of the anime and the characters introductions are horrible.the plot of code geass is very interesting, though. the characters are well designed the settings good and overall i did enjoy it. the artstyle for it isn’t too bad for when it was animated. in a lot of anime’s nowadays the female characters are usually male centred so it was nice to have a change with the females in code geass.

My man Lelouch is the GOAT. Code Geass is one of those anime where you start watching for the plot and end up getting completely attached to the characters. Lelouch is easily the biggest reason I enjoyed it so much. Watching his plans unfold and seeing how far he is willing to go makes every episode feel important. But what really stayed with me is the idea that you can't have everything. You can't have the world you want and keep everyone you care about safe at the same time. Sometimes, the choices you make for the greater good can cost you the people who matter most. And that's exactly what makes the ending hit so hard. Lelouch spends the entire story trying to create a better world for the people he loves, but in the end, he has to give up the very thing he wanted to keep—his own pla…

[I do mention and allude to some events but I intentionally do so vaguely without giving much away, so don't worry, nothing is spoiled] This is, and has been for a very long time, my favourite anime of all time. It's just so good. Usually when I glaze an anime or manga it's mostly just recency bias speaking and it'll take a few days for my opinion to settle and form properly, and yet Code Geass is among the few shows that I love just as much as I did when I first watched it 5-odd years ago. I just now finished this first season as I am currently rewatching the series for the 4th time and so I wanted to take this time to write down my opinion on this season. First of all, as much as I love to glaze the ever living sh*t out of this series, it is worth pointing out that Code Geass is riddl…

(Spoiler free) Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is one of the most thrilling seasons of anime I have seen. It contains twenty-five episodes centered on themes of politics, royalty, racism, and betrayal- all following the indominable character that is Lelouch vi Britannia. Lelouch is the true center of this story. As what I would describe as a Machievelian character, his use of his intellect, disguise, influence, and the power of his Geass makes him stand out as a remarkably competant and strong character that doesn't hesitate to push the story forward at every opportunity. As manipulative, and quite literally, two-faced as he is, we can't help but root for Lelouch and his rebellious Black Knights as we're made to feel the utter oppression that Britannia has caused the people of Japan-…

The Geass is a brilliant narrative expedient that grants an ordinary man the power to fulfill his dreams and reshape the world, an impossible goal to achieve through sheer will alone. In a real-world scenario, even the most righteous and determined individual would stand no chance against the weight of institutions; the Geass acts as a bridge to fill this impossible gap. Nonetheless, even within the suspension of disbelief, it remains grounded by constraints and the protagonist's choices, as every well-written power at the core of a series should be. The main characters, Lelouch and Suzaku, perfectly mirror the duality of their ideologies. Both strive for the same goal through opposite routes. Lelouch is willing to use any means necessary to avenge his mother's death and create a safe wor…

From everything I heard about this anime, I expected much more and ended up a little disappointed, but I still liked it and would recommend it. It starts quickly, and I think that's a flaw. Lelouch's intelligence is immediately apparent in the first few episodes, but then, halfway through, he makes a lot of mistakes and leaves many things to chance. Because of this, the intelligence they initially show makes the character seem foolish, although there are episodes where his intelligence truly shines through, and those were the ones I enjoyed the most. I easily hated about a third of the characters. It seemed like they were only there to get in the way and sabotage the plans. I understand that sometimes they're necessary, but I think there were too many of them. Even so, despite all that,…

# CODE GEASS : ## Strong Points : *Code Geass delivers at creating exciting moments, dramatic twists, and an excellent central MC.* * Lelouch is easily the strongest aspect of the series, carrying much of the story through his intelligence, internal struggles, difficult decisions. * The show frequently delivers memorable emotional scenes, strong cliffhangers, and entertaining action sequences, especially during the last half of the first season and the final episodes. * The ending itself provides a satisfying conclusion and gives meaning to Lelouch's journey, Which is one of the strongest aspects of the anime. * The music/Art/Animation are Okayish and good enough for their time , they were never the anime selling point . * The Story was generally good, trying to tackle deep thoughts and…

Code Geass is an anime that I held of for a very very long time, as a kid I thought it wouldn’t be something I would like and as I grew older I always just ignored anything about it. I started binging it in a free week now and don’t regret it. The artstyle is perfect and the story, while I would call it a bit dated, is okay. Do you have to watch this? I really think at some point you should. Do I think it gets put onto a pedestal that’s a bit too high for what it is? Yeah maybe that too but by all means this show is not bad at all

An 8 is a "High Distinction" for me. This is a show that swings for the fences. It’s theatrical, melodramatic, and incredibly smart, even when it’s being ridiculous. It’s one of the few shows that manages to make giant robots and high school festivals coexist in a way that (mostly) works. ● Themes and Narrative Structure: It tackles colonialism, utilitarianism, and the corruption of power. The narrative structure is a grand chess game. I gave it an 8 rather than a 9 because, while the highs are incredible, the plot relies on convenient coincidences a bit too often. It’s a wild, operatic ride that keeps you guessing. ● Character Development: Lelouch Lamperouge is one of the greatest protagonists ever written. He is a high-level strategist, a drama king, and a deeply flawed brother. He…

If you're not really into mech anime, or you're coming into this anime and find the first couple episodes boring, you should read this review. I found Code Geass boring for the first 10-11 episodes, and I was just constantly waiting for it to "get good" because I'm not the type to really enjoy shows that have nothing to offer me except cool battle scenes. Code Geass shocked me with how quickly it was able to change my opinion after those first 10 episodes. The show does an incredible job at developing its characters and making them more interesting as the show continues. Character relationships that seem boring and stereotypical at first get increasingly more complex. This show is darker than I expected and it completely hooked me into it. I promise you, if you're into suspenseful, dramati…

When mech meets politics, and power is bestowed upon the powerless, intriguing events are almost inevitable. Code Geass delivers on the intrigue, capturing it from the first episode and releasing half of it after the final episodes cliffhanger. An anime that has few negatives and many positives, Code Geass is as safe a watch as they come. "Actions you take are answered by the consequences waiting at their conclusion." For Lelouch, no action he makes can go unscrutinized, for the consequences will be dire. Yet, Lelouch, despite inheriting a god-like power to suade others into his will, is no god. He is a man--a highschool student to be exact—and upon the gain of this mysterious power, he must learn to balance his new life with his old. For when his new self acts, his old self will begin to…

One of the best anime ever made. There are few works that manage to hold your attention and maintain excitement from the first episode to the last. Every episode of Code Geass is a complete work of art—you could make a movie just from the plot twists they create. There were very few minutes of Code Geass where I felt bored. I'm not a fan of mecha, but the robots here aren't the main focus. The historical context of Britannia's devastating monarchy feels like a utopia, but if you know the basics of history, you’ll realize it’s actually a fictional adaptation of one of humanity's greatest empires—just with far more style. The throne battle here can be compared to Game of Thrones, everything so cinematic and extravagant, even the protagonist is megalomaniacal. I love the unique, eccentric cha…

Iconic anime. Why? Because of how deep are the abilities of our protagonist, which become apparent very quickly and even from the abstract of this anime, Lelouch Lamperouge and what he had gone through prior to the events that transpire in this season. Setting is quite interesting to those who are enticed by setting rebellion fighting empires. Character development is good, opinionatingly and that is because of how much conflict there are between some characters and this not established very early in the first early single digit number of episodes but it will become apparent afterwards and this a point and contention for frustration. However, this keeps the watchers and viewers on their toes and glues them, drawing them to watch the next episode. This is a point where watching this anime…

This is a pretty good series. I watched it in 4 days, and that's an incredibly fast pace for me considering the series I watched before this was half the length and took me 5 days. The story kept me wanting to know more. They did a very good job at giving you enough to understand what was going on, but left you in the dark on enough things to keep wanting more and to see where things were going. It did take a lot of strength in me to not look things up, though. At some points I failed and accidentally spoiled myself, so don't look things up!! Or if you do have that tendency, look it up then leave the tab open until you're done the show to see the answer if it remains unanswered (which some of my questions did remain unanswered, and that is part of why this was not given a 9). The only pr…

As you can probably guess I fell in love with Code Geass as a whole, mainly in Lelouch, but let me explain why everyone should give it a shot. Ofcourse as most anime it's not for everyone, but it's definitely for those that deal with reality and even more for those who avoid it. It's really educational and if you think about it, it genuinely portraits the real world we live in RIGHT NOW! It really opens your eyes, expands knowledge and make you wonder not only about Code Geass itself, the anime industry or how someone wrote something like this, but makes you wonder about yourself, who you truly are, your surroundings, how to use it and most importantly what it actually is. It's a story that follows every single person you can ever meet. Avoidant, those who deal with issues, scared, hope…

This anime in my opinion is a good watch but not necessarily the epitome of all anime as some will say. The good parts about this anime are - 1) The story takes some good turns almost to where you don't know if you are watching the good guys POV. 2) The characters make what I would say is more human like decisions than some other animes. 3) There is very good voice acting for sub and dub. The bad parts are - 1) Some characters don't get to live up to their potential / don't use there ability well. 2) Sometimes it seemed like the director just threw something in to make a character seem more likable or dislikable just for the plot but it was out of nowhere. 3) There are some parts where somethings happen off screen and we don't know why or what specifically happened. All that being…

English: An anime that, despite not being the best in its category, touches you deeply. If you're reading this review before watching the anime, I highly advise you to avoid anything related to it on social media. The first season is magnificent and leaves nothing to be desired, except perhaps the desire to start watching the second one. The way the story unfolds and the suspense maintained throughout each and every episode is truly remarkable; you'll never know what will happen next, and that's simply splendid. Little more to add, it's highly recommended. Español: Un anime que a pesar de no ser el mejor en su categoría, te llega al fondo del corazón. Si estas leyendo esta reseña antes de ver el anime te aconsejo mucho que no veas nada que tenga que ver con este en las redes sociale…

Overall: 10/10 Story: 9 | Art: 9 | Sound: 9 | Character: 10 | Enjoyment: 10 A ruthless strategy drama disguised as a high-school mecha show. R1 sets up a clean thesis: one brilliant teenager applies game-theory and asymmetric tactics to topple an empire—then pays for every move. The politics, mask theater, and chessboard framing actually matter; battles resolve from information asymmetry and deception, not pure robot spectacle. What worked • Strategic clarity: Lelouch’s gambits have readable premises → actions → consequences. Wins feel earned; losses have weight. • Moral calculus: The show doesn’t pretend ends-vs-means is easy. It lets the ugliness sit. • Dual tone that (mostly) functions: School hijinks puncture tension but also humanize the mask; it’s contrast, not filler. • Character…
