I watched this anime a long time ago—or at least I remember starting it, though I never actually finished it. I decided to rewatch it now to refresh my memory, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. There is simply a soul to these old anime. The music, the story, the art style—everything was spot on. I couldn't wait to start each episode because I loved how they always ended on a cliffhanger that compelled you to keep watching—something you don't really see much in modern anime. I’ll even admit that I teared up a few times. I wasn't a huge fan of mecha anime back then either, but this one was an exception for me. I can highly recommend it.

Overall, the ideas in the Worldbuilding are good and genuinely interesting — except for the whole “mecha that fly on skates” thing. It’s a core concept the entire show is built on, and most of the action and important scenes rely on it. It’s honestly hard to take seriously, and it does hurt the world-building in general… but not to an unbearable degree.
The series suffers from a major problem: way too much “power of love” nonsense. The characters get out of tons of situations just thanks to the power of love and all that stuff, which makes the events feel less exciting.
Still, there are some truly memorable episodes that deliver really good moments.
But the biggest problem with the show is the characters.
The characters in this series are generally mid, even though a few of them are dece…

So I just finished Eureka Seven and I have to say the first half of the series was really slow for me but I am so glad I stuck it out for the back half as it got really good! Now I am not going to glaze it and say it was perfection as it fell short in a lot of places but overall the character development between Eureka and Renton was what I watched for. It took them 50 episodes but I am glad to say I finished the story to see how things ended between the two. The Mecha elements were my second favorite part of this series followed by the Scub Coral and Coralian alien species backstory. What I wasn't a fan of was a lot of the unnecessary military plots and side stories BUT all that to say its kind of what you sign up for when watching Eureka Seven! So go and make your own decision on whether…

Usually this type of long romance mecha anime is not for me at all. Plus, it did start out slow and generic. I'm not sure what convinced me to keep watching, but man I was glad that I did. After a certain point in the show, the drama really ramps up and the story starts to form a unique identity and it ended up being a pleasant surprise.
That being said, does everything work? No. There are some story elements that I wish had gotten more screen time and development, the relationships with the characters don't always work, and there is padding that was 100% unnecessary (the soccer episode for example). However, this is one of those shows where I can say the lows are lows, but the highs are so high they make it worth it to stick it out through the entire show.
I was also glad to see that th…

=====Introduction=====
Eureka Seven has a certain allure to its world. While from the outside, it looks like it combines several, too many even, genres of anime into one story. It builds a strong narrative that pulls you into it. If you are a lover of fairly heavy sci-fi & fantasy stories, this anime has several elements that'll satisfy you. Mix that deep story & wide world with creative characters and you have an epic anime. However, the plot is quite complex which makes it different from the norm of 'good guys vs. bad guys.' Many times, it makes you question who are the good guys here or why they are labeled 'good.'
=====Story===== 9.5/10
The story is the category that matters to me most in any media content I consume. It is deep and has several layers. The synopsis covers only about 5…

Since this was 50 freaking episodes I could never touch on every single thing I want to in a reasonable number of words so I'll try my best to mention the big things.
I don't want to say that I found this show to have missed potential because my expectations were never too high. I was definitely bored at many parts, but never actually felt any major dislike towards it. That is until I finish it, and I surprisingly feel strongly...unfulfilled? I think it starts from how this show clumsily dropped so much 'lore' (emphasis on the quotes) and terminology in the later stages. I have a solid idea of what it all was trying to say, but this was so late in the game that I don't necessarily care enough that this world-at-stake climax has me at the edge of my seat. I won't deny that the show was bu…

Eureka 7 left a bit of a strange impression on me, in despite the fact that it has plenty of pretty noticeable flaws, I still can't help in thinking that it is great. Yet despite the fact that I would personally give it a 9/10 or even a 10/10, I think is also perfectly reasonable to give it a 5 or a 6.
Eureka 7 is a romantic mecha anime which draws pretty heavily from what came before it, especially Neon Genesis Evangelion. It draws so much from Evangelion that the first two episodes of each show are nearly identical to each other. There are other features viewers of the latter will probably pick up on, such as the cabal running things, the psychological themes and tones, as well as the semi-sentient mechas.
My biggest issue with Eureka 7 was the pacing, it is glacially slow after the f…

I loved Eureka Seven. Even the early episodes, which yes, are the worst episodes in the series because they're cringy due to the innocent 15 y/o acting like the child he was, but they are key to the story, to the development of a young innocent boy into the man he eventually becomes, proving his love to the girl who is out of his world. The middle and ending made me cry: it was beautiful. The raw power of these young lovers finally overcoming boundaries was glorious and the way it was executed made my cry. The message of family, of love, of sacrifice and life merged together to make a perfect blend of drama, romance, action, and tragedy.
The animation helps massively with this. Eureka Seven is about breaking boundaries and freedom: and the animation takes your breath away with it. The var…

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW
Eureka Seven is an Anime that has been on my "Plan-to-Watch List for a very long time, and now i finally had the time to watch it. Being a Fan of the Mecha-Genre i was really excited about where this Story is going to go and my expectations were definitely surpassed!
Story - 10/10
Eureka Seven is a very dense Show spanning over 50 Episodes. This may sound daunting for a lot of People, especially in an Age where most seasonal shows are playing it safe with only getting 12 Episodes per Season. But Eureka Seven uses those 50 Episodes very efficiently. The Story starts off slow and introduces all of our Main Characters and some aspects about the World, but it manages to do so without big infodumps or boring expanation scenes. Instead it makes eccelent use of th…

This anime just does everything: mecha, romance, anime, human growth, flying (and environmentalism) ... the worldbuilding can be a bit weak at times but what a phenomenal anime. It just has everything that I love including an ode to counterculture/subculture.
The scenes where the mechas soar in the blue air just gives me tremendous feeling of freedom, perhaps something that I wanted to bad my whole life. The animation always manages to portray the beauty of reffing in its finest. Of course, it doesn't fail to say what the price of such freedom is — the sheer ground we stand on, the earth.
The growth of individual characters are amazing too. This is just a huge coming of age story for all characters, even the ones that are already adults. Being an adult doesn't mean that one's character i…

As one of my first anime ever, it has been a VERY long time since I have seen Eureka 7, so I can't make a completely accurate review for it unless I would watch it again--but there are so many other anime to watch that I don't have the time right now!--but until I get around to it I'll just scatter my general thoughts on the series from what I remember.
Eureka 7 is certainly a unique anime, full of utterly bizarre concepts that somehow mesh together well in a distinctive package that can be cluttered at times but are thoroughly enjoyable throughout the entire series. The idea of mechs riding on hoverboards was obviously what grabbed me back in my teen years, but even then the flaws of the series stuck out to me very clearly.
While the big reveal of the overarching plot is an idea I never…

Whether you enjoyed it or not, there's simply no other anime like Eureka Seven.
What may seem like a regular mecha show at first glance (admittedly this series does start off a bit slow) unfolds to be a story about love, war, and coming in touch with life and yourself after trauma. Some accuse it of suffering from an identity crisis, but I disagree. I think the contrast between mushy and grim is very deliberate, and very well balanced. The series never lets you get lost inside one long enough to forget about the other. Both the bitter and the sweet are powerful forces within the story, which is ultimately reflective of real life. Eureka Seven can be very healing to watch percisely because it does not trap itself in either corner and shows that terrifying things exist in the same world as…

This is one of the BEST animes i ever watched, easily in my top 10.
The story is really good, just in 50 chapters the producers tale a deep and good constructed story.i not going to put spoilers but i had a few hunches about a few things and i was right all the time and that was really a good feeling,im pretty sure i was not the only one
The art is sublime,at first i didnt like too much the animation but i end up loving it
The soundtrack and OP songs are simply beyond epic,i have most of them in my spotify playlists, the first OP is reeeeeally good, the general soundtrack is really enveloping too.
The character development is in my opinion one of the best part of the series, how renton,Eureka,Holland, talho, everyone evolves through the series is just insane, its insane when you realize that,ho…

The concept was great, the action was great, the character design was interesting and the overall story was interesting.
The only thing i hate is the ending and how the story make the mc look dumb too much. For a 50 eps series, I was expecting a proper satisfying ending but nope, its the otherwise. So much things left unexplained and the last episode look so rushed.
I know the story was intended to show how dumb kids during their transition into teenagershood, but this is too much and just wasting of plot for more important part of the story. Look how 50 eps wasnt enough because time wasted just to make mc look extra dumb.

This show is probably one of the ones that I have changed my opinion on the most while I was watching it. For me, it wasn't until around episode 40 that I really liked the show. I think one of the reasons for this was that because this show has a lot of concepts in the world that (while kinda explained) aren't really explained all that well. I was lost in words like trapar waves and scrub coral, and didn't come to a full understanding of what those words actually meant until near the end.
The characters in Eureka Seven are for the most part very good. Most of the crew of the Gekkostate are characters that feel like real people. You hate them at times and you love them at others. The relationships between Renton and Eureka, Holland and Talho, Charles and Ray, and Anemone and Dominic were…

Eureka Seven is an original work in the impressive catalog of Bones studio. Bones to this day makes some of the best-looking animation on the market and Eureka Seven from 2005-2006 is no exception. A fairly involved sci-fi epic that spans 50 episodes is pretty unheard of today. I think the closest we’ve gotten in recent years was Darling in the Franxx (oof). Eureka Seven is a classic for a reason and it’s certainly a must watch for mecha and sci-fi fans.
The story follows our main boy Renton Thurston when a cute girl in a mech crashes into his house. Renton (or as I refer to him, Renton “Thirsty”) who is a space surfer boy is smitten with the girl and upon finding out she’s a member of his…

I never review anime. this is probably my only review I will probably ever do but there something about this show I really have to get of my chest. I mostly enjoyed this anime, the art was good, the story was good. This may seem small but in an anime where the characters actions heavily affect the story, something that really put me off the anime multiple times was inconsistencies of the characters reactions and vibes they let off to certain situations. I mainly see this in Renton and Holland.
With Holland its like he is two different characters at once. I think they stretched his unstable mental health too far in the beginning making it seem like this was his character this put me off because he almost felt like an antagonist in the story and with everyone on the ship hardly trying to al…

I loved the anime but i think they could have made the ending a bit happier and made it so the did not go to the moon but stay on earth but overall i think the anime was really good. And the part when she was pregnant and how she was have a kid really threw me off but it was good times so i liked the second part to. 10/10 would highly recommend.

I know that reviews on MAL have a tendency to ramble for quite a bit, so skip around to the parts your most interested in. Just to give you the green light, this is 100% spoiler free.
Story and world building: The plot isn’t really that hard to follow as long as you’re paying attention, but damn does it take forever to dig into the meat and potatoes of the story. Basically all the world building and exposition takes place in the 3rd act of the show. As much as I want to defend the show on this front, I really can’t. As good as the story is, it undeniably takes a hit from the amount of time it takes for things to really kick into high gear. However, the premise of the show is amazing, almost perfect if you ask me. Hippies in giant robots riding giant skyboards while fighting against the bi…
