See You Tomorrow at the Food Court

See You Tomorrow at the Food Court

Introduction

Every afternoon, tucked away in a corner of a local shopping mall's food court, two high school girls unwind and share a meal. Wada may seem like a soft-spoken honor student, but she is actually quite talkative and has an addiction to mobile games. Meanwhile, Yamamoto appears to be a stoic gal, but she is obsessed with internet mysteries and all things American. Nevertheless, within this food court, they carve out a strong friendship built on unfiltered conversations and the little absurdities that make everyday life a bit more bearable. W Gyaru representation ^^ In all seriousness, even though this anime is just two girls chatting, its comedic timing is unmatched. Yamamoto and Wada look and act like polar opposites, but you quickly realize they are two sides of the same coin. Both characters subvert your expectations, as they do no act the way stereotypes would make you believe. The way they are written too is realistic (for me at least XD) for modern high school girls in this era of social media. As a girl myself, I really enjoyed their convos. It’s one of the few shows I struggled to finish simply because it was so good and I didn't want it to end :')

You would think that watching the same two girls sitting in the same location for six full length whole episodes would be a terrible idea but somehow Food Court pulls it off. Quiet and reserved gyaru Yamamoto and umm.. Wada. A very seemingly unlikely pairing but it works. Due to the lack of any kind of big plot progression, the show rides or dies with its dialogue because that's basically all it is. Just our two leads bouncing off of each other. Yet, despite the topics of their conversations being so mundane, it's oddly captivating. They just talk about whatever happens to be on their minds at any given point and the minutes flow by. I think the main reason all of it works is just how insanely organic it feels. These two are good, close friends. Now you see this in anime all the time sur…

Despite its simplicity, it's an amazing show. It's incredibly easy to relate to both girls. Meeting up after school and talking about absolutely anything. One moment you're both completely absorbed in your phones without saying a word, and the next someone blurts out the most random thought imaginable, and you end up spending the next two hours talking about the dumbest things. We really need more shows like this. Calm, relaxing series with no villains, no overly complex or philosophical themes, and no unnecessary sexual tension. An occasional dirty joke is fine, but there's no need to take it to the extreme. Just a couple of friends enjoying their free time together. In a way, even though it's not the same kind of series, it reminded me of Non Non Biyori.

fun, light hearted slice of life shorts that show teenage girls in their true element (being dumb as hell with your best friend). the characters are fun and quirky and the nonsense they discuss feels realistic to the kind of stupid discussions you have when spending time with a good friend. their relationship is really sweet to watch too. i really enjoyed it, short and sweet as it was. if you like this sort of thing, i think you'll definitely enjoy this anime. it kinda reminds me of asobi asobase, if that anime toned itself down a few hundred notches. 10/10 would get yuribaited by them again

This show is so slice of life it would probably be more accurate to call it people-watching instead. It's unique, and actually pulled off really well. The whole thing is mostly two characters chatting, and feels like getting to know some amusing strangers by just happening to be near them every day. What makes it interesting is the two characters themselves. Through overhearing their conversations you piece together that their personalities don't entirely match their appearances. You'd think Wada would be the typical introvert, and Yamamoto the typical gyaru. And yet they're both loner types at heart, and have a shared language with lots of slang. They also both have particular interests, and while they don't exactly line up they enjoy discussing whatever it is they're into. By the end of…

This is a really good anime for teen girls. I think they will love it. Most, if not all of the anime takes place in the food court or restaurant. And nothing much happens in the show other than two girls just talking to each other. And its all 'girl-talk'. And yet I enjoyed it because it was funny and the writing and acting was good. The conversation feels so natural and free flowing. You feel as though you are eavesdropping some real girls talking in a restaurant. The OP is good too as a bonus. It has a dance and a good song. If you are looking for a slice of life anime ... I recommend this. My Rating : 7/10 (Good)

“See You Tomorrow at the Food Court” is what happens when you write a modern Greek drama, just not so deep. When I was but a wee lad studying psychology at the university I was forced by my master's thesis supervisor to do a rather simple experiment. I had to record pairs of people talking for 10 minutes about any subject. The experiment itself was simple but the analysis part was a ball buster. I had to count every damn joint move of every person during those 10 minutes. For fucks sake I was going mad doing this. Every finger movement, every head turn, every change of a sitting position.. FUUUU… sorry for the TMI. The goal was to see if people with good report and relationships synchronize when it comes to the amount of movement they make. Turns out that there is a correlation there. Tha…

Once in a few years, a great anime with gorgeous animation, beautiful story and complex, multi-dimensional characters will appear and take the world by storm. But even rarer, just sometimes, barely even, you will witness a story that is so simple, so mundane yet charming, funny and heart-warming. Such is the strange case of Food Court de, Mata Ashita or See You Tomorrow at the Food Court. If you ever see the concept of this anime on paper, you would swear up and down that it will never work. Just 2 girls talking about anything happening throughout their days and that's it. Yet someway, somehow, Japan always proves me wrong. Wada and Yamamoto seems like the opposite of each other. One is talkative and childish, one is mature and quiet. YYet they're the best of friends and everyday after…

It's always a joy to have casual conversations with friends. Speaking your mind freely without being harshly judged and ridiculed. Especially when your conversations are sponsored by KFC and Baskin Robbins. "Food Court de, Mata Ashita" or "See You Tomorrow at the Food Court" was a delightful little slice of life anime wrapped up as a thinly veiled, glorified KFC ad, and a six-piece combo meal. Wada Nolastname and Yamamoto Nolastname (no relation) are our two main characters, and really, the only two characters that matter here. Looking at you, guy who put Yamada in your favorite characters list. Seriously? Why? The plot for this show is quite simple, actually. Wada and Yamamoto meet each other at a food court and chit chat about, well, literally anything. That's the entire plot of the show…

Honestly, the title initially struck us as kind of a troll. We thought it would be some absurd slice-of-life anime with no substance. But after we read the description, we actually got curious—and rightly so. We expected a small, classic slice of life with a simple core idea. But the very first episode flipped our opinion completely to the positive. Reasons included the many Easter eggs and the strong synergy between the two main characters. Their dynamic is simply fun, and we found lots of moments that paralleled our own lives. Of course, keep in mind it’s a short anime that leans toward comedy. So you shouldn’t expect a big, profound story. What it does deliver is an appealing art style, playful stylistic breaks, and above all the facial expressions that make every scene feel more aliv…

This is an okie slice of life anime. Essentially the story just goes around two girls are unlikely to be friends being friends, and just them spending time together as friends. While there is no real reason to watch this show, since there is no plot, or take away, just two girls talking about random things that interests them in life, or have recently experienced. The show keeps it realistic, it keeps their friendship and how they act and talk with each other very real, like how irl friendships would be. I think this anime would be good for watching in the background with no mind much. The story isn't there you just learn about two girls through their interactions, so if you here for a story I wouldn't recommend. The art is pretty cool, it's simple, it's cute, that's perfect for the stor…

This review of mine will have two parts. The first is the obvious, the latter on the other hand is more personal... This show is very comfy, it's the type of show I choose when I want to relax and let go. There are a lot of shows this season, with a handful being so good they are the Right Choices that don't leave any time for other content. I'm pretty happy I picked this out from the promotional content I saw before release. It's the Girls Night Out, or honestly, at least for me, it is not down to gender, rather two friends, co-existing, having those crazy conversations we all do, and look back so fondly on. It's very funny, and the subjects they choose are relevant to the day and age and are unique and not boring to listen to. Now, for my own preferences, something that made this st…

This is a nice slice-of-life anime. If you like listening to random conversations, this is the anime for you. Sit back, relax and listen to these two girls talking with each other about different random topics. This anime shows that how having just one trustworthy person to talk to openly can help you overcome stress, loneliness, sadness, frustration, etc. One must try to find someone they can talk to without worrying about anything whom they can meet daily and talk for hours. The characters' personality is very nice, each of them are unique. Wada and Yamamoto make up a nice pair. Artwork is good, opening and ending songs are nice and fun. Anyone who likes slice of life anime, and who loves to listen to conversations will like this anime.

The Monkey's Vibes Are Unhinged See you tomorrow at the food court Is an challenging piece on societal expectations, about how you should look and how you should behave, and also very comfy. They have a very comfy and good dynamic. We have the tall one who is composed but have her little weird side, you would not expect. and then we have the little goblin creature that is clingy and brings most of the drama. She's amazing. It has that nice feeling of being with your friends and just trying to find things to do, and finding the comfy moments in one day. it's just nice. The six episodes feel perfect, it doesn't need more and it has some very funny moments. would recommend.

This is the greatest underrated anime of 2025.If you have been bored of low quality isekais or aura farmers,This is the anime to watch There is no action, romance or lesbomancy here, what we have is just two friends talking after school.Sit,relax yourself and enjoy it. I had immense fun watching it.Best thing about this series is the writing. They don't go the easy route.Every sentence has value.Even silence has a value.Having actual stops at talking when conversations felt "real" ,it is just like how i talked with my friend. It has been two months since i watched this and i still remember every episode. They gone balls deep in jokes too, there is no "sugar coating" here, have you ever thought you ever going to listen "Sketchy Fat Indian guy" joke? well i did not and pleasantly suprised about…

I haven't watched an anime in a while, and haven't completed one in even longer. This was a relatively short anime, so I didn't feel like I invested a lot of time into it. That was, ultimately, a good thing. This anime had a built in storytelling challenge. It takes place in a food court. You get flashbacks to other locations and times, and very rare forays into other environments, but 95 percent of the time this anime takes place in a food court, and 90 percent of THAT is spent in two seats underneath a rather opportunistically configured very large digital display. This isn't, in itself, a bad thing. It's a valid storytelling choice. But given this self-inflicted constraint. you're pretty much left with dialog and story as the defining characteristic of this anime, the thing that's go…

See you tomorrow at the food court is an incredibly realistic, yet exciting and fun interpretation of the daily shenanigans of two Japanese high schoolers. I frequently work as a student teacher for a Japanese all-girls private school, and thus have to interact with these students, and watching this show comes to me as extremely familiar. The dynamic of 2 teenage girls having their moments, whether it be something negative like having a fight or even falling out with each other, or sharing a treat and bonding over one or the other's interests. The moments come off as genuine and extremely realistic. Wada, on the outside being the standard Japanese student, who in reality, is quite loud, obnoxious and daring. Yamamoto, an intimidating gyaru with a piercing look, actually being a caring, th…

When I watched this anime, honestly I first thought, “What the heck, it’s just two high school girls hanging out at a food court, talking about random stuff?” But that’s exactly what makes it addictive. Yamamoto and Wada just sitting there, sipping soda or snacking and their conversations go everywhere: gacha, manga, school gossip, or some totally random absurd things that somehow feel relatable. It’s not the kind of “mind-blowing” or super dramatic talk, but it feels so real. Like when you’re chilling with your close friend at the school canteen or a small café, just letting the conversation flow without any purpose. What I love the most is how this anime doesn’t force conflict or twists. It’s just laid-back, letting the characters talk naturally. And the chemistry between Yamamoto and W…

With a show that is almost exclusively dialogue it’s important that the characters are well defined, consistent and interesting. And I’m happy to report that this show nails it. Watching the two leads interact is a joy and their dialogue is bouncy and all over the place in a way that feels very true to life. There is nothing of deep substance here, but this show isn’t trying to do that, it’s just slice of life in its purest form. It’s definitely not going to be for everyone, in fact the decision to make this 6 episodes instead of 12 is a great one that keeps an audience who might have gotten bored with it if it went longer. I personally could watch this forever, but that’s truly a testament to the two leads and their chemistry. Lastly I learned that the author is trans! And that’s aweso…

See you tomorrow at the Food Court is an anime about an unlikely duo that hangs out at the KFC in some local food court place ( the whole thing might as well be a KFC ad ). What brings the duo together is them being outcasts in their own classes so now they meet up at this food court and mostly just talk about random stuff. The gyaru is a totally hot ( especially with the brown hair ) and sweet as can be but the other girl pretends to be your average Japanese school girl but is in reality quite a bitch with otaku tendencies. The topics at hand are sometimes quite random and the quality and laughs that might come with them arrange from relatable and funny to completely random and dull. All in all you could say this is just your average slice of life anime where you don't miss anything if yo…
