This is where the Haikyuu!! anime should have ended.
After finally defeating Aoba Johsai, Karasuno and Shiratorizawa faced off in a thrilling duel in the Spring Tournament finals. It was great, but I can't help but think that the best part of this part of the story was the second (or third) match between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai. Therefore, what was supposed to be the final boss is really just one more step towards the long-awaited national tournament.
I know we all want to see how Hinata and Kageyama's story continues, but considering how long it took to adapt the anime's continuation, pick it up again, and how long it will probably take to adapt the rest of the manga, I think they could have ended it classily here.

Haikyuu!! Karasuno Koukou vs. Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou, the pinnacle of a confrontation! Overall, I find that this third season remains on the same basis compared to the last two seasons even if the match takes place over one season. Each point is crucial and the match is intense and epic, which is the strength of this season! The animation and character design remain the same. In terms of the soundtrack, the opening, the ending and the OST are consistently good. In short, this season remains on the same wavelength as the last two seasons, which is still as pleasant to follow!

This arc represents the pinnacle of Haikyuu!!’s sports storytelling, delivering an intense and emotional volleyball match that captivates from start to finish. The clash between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa is more than a game; it’s a battle of wills, skill, and growth.
Ushijima’s overwhelming power provides a formidable challenge, pushing Karasuno’s players to new heights both individually and as a team. The pacing is excellent, and the tension builds organically through well-choreographed gameplay and personal moments.
Character development is front and center, with players like Tsukishima stepping up in surprising ways. The animation quality shines during match scenes, capturing the speed and intensity of volleyball with fluid and dynamic visuals.
This arc delivers high-stakes action w…

Sports anime often stick to familiar rhythms—training, rivalries, big matches—but they’ve got to keep the spark alive. Haikyuu!! lives and breathes volleyball passion, and Season 3 takes it up a notch. This isn’t some lazy sequel; it’s a focused love letter to everything the show’s built up, packed into one intense match. Ten episodes, no filler, all heart.
The season picks up right where we left off: Karasuno’s earned a shot at the Spring High Preliminary finals in Miyagi, facing Shiratorizawa Academy, a powerhouse led by one of Japan’s top high school aces. The setup’s straightforward: one big game, five sets, everything on the line. No side tangents, no extra drama—just volleyball, start to finish.
The pacing’s unreal. Ten episodes might sound short, but they stretch this match into a…

Pacing wasn't good. Typical Shonen. The hype seen from fans makes me set my standards really high and you'd almost expect it to be a masterpiece, but to me, it falls short. The show isn't that great. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sports anime quite a bit, but it didn't speak to me as much as others. The moments where the animation turns up are great, but in between is boring and drawn out. It takes too long to build up. This could've been a 3-4 episode match and that would've been much more rewarding and made it better for me. A lot of you seem to rate things really highly, when it's average. Maybe you don't want to seem mean or overly critical? I'm not sure. But one thing that does is makes people believe they are going to watch a masterpiece, only to be disappointed or maybe just feeling o…

The first time I watched this 3rd season, I was rating it only 7. As far as I remember, my middle school self thinks the match is boring. It's not really what I expected at all from a 3rd season of an anime I've been waiting for a while. That and plus I don't really like Ushiwaka's character back then haha.
But now here I am, years later. I'm rewatching Haikyuu again after it's been everywhere on my fyp (cause of the dumpster battle) and it's the best decision ever.
In terms of character development, the attention to detail, as well as emotional value that are put in this anime... they're just so so good.
From my first moment of rewatching, I didn't feel bored at all. I feel like I'm really becoming a fan, of this very hard-working and passionate team of high school volleyball. There ar…

Haikyuu is just great anime. I watched all season with tension and enjoyment. Characters were very well-balanced and It doesn't feel that Hinata is the main character. For pros, It wasn't that many backstories to fill the time, also there weren't the weird and edgy moments that many anime had. The last episode was really good and the best so far. The art style was also in that season the best from all season, you can see that they put a lot of effort into it. If you have no that much freetime you can watch a movie but I recommend that season instead.

More awesome work from Haikyuu! On the whole, I'd say this doesn't quite reach the heights of S2, mainly because it lacks the training and multiple team development that season had in spades as well as the very personal conflict with Oikawa and his team, but it follows close behind, featuring a high-intensity match-up for the ages.
It's 10 episodes of high intensity action where everything is put on the line and it doesn't disappoint. It's a powerful testament to how well this series does even when it's focused on a single match and placing extensive focus on its plays - none of it feels like it's dragged out too long or loses me. Where this season soars is in demonstrating just how far this team has come and using a truly great opponent as a measuring stick unlike any other so far. It's…

An entire season not only with the volleyball court as it's soul setting, but also dedicated to 1 single match
Keeping hold of the intensity for 10 whole episodes what would on avarage last roughly 2 hours is no easy feat, and Haikyuu s3 accomplishes this to perfection
So far this is most likely the season that'll be enjoyed the most by any sports lover as it has the highest focus on the match itself, but this is definitely not only for the fans of sports, the hype, passion, and character connections built up over the past 2 seasons make this match an immersive binge worthy experience even for those that sports is not the main appeal to them
The intense focus on the match still leaves just enough time to dedicate to fun and full of developement character interactions
We're finally introd…

-haikyuu overcomes again-
And here I go again, euphoric after finishing another season of haikyuu. First a
round of applause for this absurdly perfect opening, in my opinion it totally captured
the mood, making me hold my breath at first and let it out as it went on, the same
reaction I had for the last 3 episodes. The art is amazing, it only evolves as the
episodes go by and the matches only get more intense, calm and kind of dull at first
and then they become more and more exciting, leaving a taste of satisfaction and
happiness in everyone who sees this memorable anime, hope to continue!!

Haikyu!! Season 3
I like this anime not only because of the characters, but because Haikyu is one of the more realistic sports anime. At least that's what I thought before this season came out. Now we're almost caught up with the bizarre level of "Kuroko no Basket". In this world, there are now players you can barely beat even 7vs1 and they all look like some misplaced shounen antagonists.
To be honest, the result of this season surprised me a lot, because I expected a different result. But this was also the best moment of this season.
On average, there wasn't much more tension. The first round was quite transparent, the second one not a bit better. The third round was skipped and the tension started to build only at the end of the fourth set.
Shiratorizawa was a strong but inflexibl…

For me, this season of Haikyuu is the best of all, because we can see how much the characters have developed individually, and as a team as well.
We can see that karasuno college has developed very well, new team mentality, and also new strategies
This season the team no longer depends on both the super fast attack of kageyama and hinata, and they start using other types of attacks, such as synchronized attack, and attacks in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time
This season has 1 personagen that in my opinion was what most developed, which was the Kei Tsukishima This character just played the only necessary, This character just played the only necessary, and never again that it, and this season he surprised me a lot as he strives to learn how to block better and begins to "get addicted" in volley.

The budget for this season must have been over the top and it shows! The art, animation, music, EVERYTHING is top TOP tier! I got to say that the opening is my favorite out of everything HIKARIAREEE~
This season was extremely exciting, intense, and stressful! I didn't even realize i was holding my breath most of the time until my sister told me I looked stressed in the corner watching haha! I still get goosebumps when I rewatch this season. There are SO MANY unforgettable moments, so you can't even say that one things made the season great. Really, just a collection of everything made this season amazing.
I got to say though, I have seen reactors say they don't like Ushijima or that he is too cocky, but just like Hinata says, I think he's so damn cool! He has all the right to be confiden…

I was so completely into watching the action and even while I was able to guess who would win each set I was completely enchanted. I could not pull my eyes off the screen and I found myself choosing to watch Haikyuu!! instead of doing tests for school or doing anything really. The only times I would pause watching was when I got so hyped up I felt the need to run laps or just release energy. I lost my passion for exercise and sports during quarantine but Haikyuu!! made me remember the thrill and adrenaline I had forgotten, it helped me to remember a part of myself.

This is my favorite season of Haikyuu!! Not only does it have some of the most emotional moments in the series, it also has the best match in the series. This match also happens to be the only thing in this season, a move that I at first wasn't too sure about but now I absolutely love it. It really hones in just how epic this match is.
STORY: I've mentioned in my reviews of the other seasons that Haikyuu!! is a character driven story, there isn't a grand plot line other than a sports team striving for victory so what makes this show so damn good is the characters.
This season is just one match, and an important one at that. This match is the last chance for the Karasuno we've come to know and love to enter nationals, this is the match that finally puts Karasuno back on the map as a powerf…

Pretty crazy that the entire season is one match. What I've really liked about this show is it's super binge-able and demands your investment in the outcome. That said, the outcome of this season isn't really what satisfied me. The character moments of three in particular, Tsukishima, Nishinoya, and Tendou of Shiratorizawa, are what I consider the heart of this season, and not any of the "main" characters (Hinata, Kageyama, and Ushijima of Shiratorizawa). While I give this season a lot of props for being entirely an adrenaline rush, that's partly why there's little flavor to it in terms of pacing. The fallback to make up for this lapse in buildup are, of course, flashbacks. I may be biased against flashbacks, though despite them being quick and useful insights that build anticipation for a…

i love haikyuu overall yet i found the first two season a lot better then this one
even tho it was the final match every one was looking for i feel like it didn't give the usual vibes
i didn't love the fact that they showed shiratorizawa score so many goals easily and at the same time karusuno really struggling for not being able to score but yet the score it was so close everytime they showed it
for example they'd show shiratorizawa scoring 16 goals and then just show 2 goals of karasuno with most of their shots getting blocked and they're so frustrated but the score is like 19-21
also i would have loved to see shoyou more in play
he wasn't involved in most of the scenes and we didn't get to see much of him
i was excited to see how was he going to preform but they focused so much on t…

Haikyuu Third Season feels like some kind of proving ground for the show. How can you make ten episodes of interesting volleyball and an entertaining story to go with it during only one game. I figured that there would be a setup first episode, which there is, and then a more concluding last episode, but that was naïve of me because there was a nice cliffhanger to end episode nine and gameplay into episode ten. There are flashbacks and cuts to how Shiratorizawa is at their own school but it's still a long five sets to play through, and while I know a lot of work would go into how any game is played and how it progresses, it is a great accomplishment that Production I.G and Furudate made it work.
If there is one advantage a sports anime has over other shonen, it's that there is a better un…

Once again, a great Haikyuu!! review. Anime has to make everything dramatic and make one match a full 10 episode season. I love Tsukishima's character development in here, I simp even more for him now. The Shiratorizawa boys are also very cute, as expected from Haikyuu!! I don't simp for any of them but Ushijima, Tendou, Goshiki, Semi, and Shirabu are just perfect. We also see Iwaizumi and Oikawa wearing casual clothes and they look ten times cuter like that. Oikawa with glasses just made me melt and I went on full simp mode. I have Glasseskawa as the profile picture for my crush's contact. If you haven't watched Haikyuu!! yet you absolutely must.

They managed to get an entire 10 episode season just from one match. What's more, it is the best season yet. We saw all of the characters improving in the last season, as well as Ennoshita having more of an introduction. We see a bit more of Narita but not much. The real key difference here was the development of Tsukishima's character.
This is MUCH cleaner than previously. They keep the same essential style but it is animated much better and it feels very smooth and looks it as well. The detail on some of the facial expressions is intense and they have had serious improvements in portraying all of the different emotions and frustrations of the characters.
Before I discuss the sound, I would like to say R.I.P Kazunari Tanaka, the voice of Keishin Ukai. He was a phenomenal voice actor.…
