Haikyu!! 2nd Season

Haikyu!! 2nd Season

Introduction

Following their participation at the Inter-High, the Karasuno High School volleyball team attempts to refocus their efforts, aiming to conquer the Spring tournament instead. When they receive an invitation from long-standing rival Nekoma High, Karasuno agrees to take part in a large training camp alongside many notable volleyball teams in Tokyo and even some national level players. By playing with some of the toughest teams in Japan, they hope not only to sharpen their skills, but also come up with new attacks that would strengthen them. Moreover, Hinata and Kageyama attempt to devise a more powerful weapon, one that could possibly break the sturdiest of blocks. Facing what may be their last chance at victory before the senior players graduate, the members of Karasuno's volleyball team must learn to settle their differences and train harder than ever if they hope to overcome formidable opponents old and new—including their archrival Aoba Jousai and its world-class setter Tooru Oikawa. Haikyū!!: Season 2, the season that follows the rhythm of the first! I find that this second season remains on the same basis compared to the first season. It is always a pleasure to follow the Karasuno team and they evolve throughout the matches to perfect their techniques and to always become stronger. The animation and the character design remain the same. In terms of the soundtrack, I like the openings and the endings which are more J-rock oriented. The OST is still as good. In short, this season remains on the same wavelength as the first season, which is still as pleasant to follow!

The second season of Haikyuu!! deepens the character development and expands the world-building beyond Karasuno High School. It emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and personal growth, especially through the intense training camp arcs. The season balances thrilling volleyball matches with quieter moments that highlight the bonds between teammates and rivals alike. Characters previously in the background receive more attention, making the team feel more complete. Animation and direction improve, showcasing faster-paced matches with cinematic flair. The soundtrack complements the mood perfectly, motivating during intense scenes and softening for emotional ones. It’s a must-watch season that solidifies Haikyuu!!’s reputation as one of the best sports anime. Story: 9.5/10 Art: 10/10 Characters:…

I came back after the first season. The characters that weren't as flashed out as in the first season is and so we get to develop our feelings for others and really connect with them. We got to see some new characters that I hope we will see again. All characters grew and developed and are reaching their full potential to the sport and personal growth. The suspense build up was excellent making me hold my breath at some certain crucial points in it like when they reached the end or they all wanted the last point to win. However I felt like we never see the true ability for anyone. Some characters you will either like or hate, there is no middle ground for some.

I watched both seasons back in middle school because I heard sooo many good things about it! “Most sports animes are boring but this one is so good” LIARR! BLASPHEMY! Watching this was like watching paint dry, honestly I would PREFER to watch paint dry. Like, a good sports anime is “Stars Align” all characters each have very well written storylines, and it still is based all around the sport. Haikyuu sucked so bad I hated every second of it, none of the characters where memorable enough to learn anything about. I remember the blonde haired guy with the bob cus he looked like a banana, i remember the orange one and the black haired one cus people like to ship them (dont they hate eachother?) and i remember the brown haired guy who was on the other team the one episode cus a lot of peopl…

The second season felt so much better in comparison with the first season. We got a new face in the team, a good training arc, and a well-written character development. Openings felt for me also much better in that season than that commonly generated anime music from season one. The ending was kinda predictable but it doesn't ruin the show at all. I feel that even if you aren't into sports anime, you will still enjoy that show because is just enjoyable anime to watch. I'm now really hyped for season 3, so I'm probably gonna just watch it all in two days.

🇧🇷 Portuguese Review Below ---------------------------- Oikawa gentlemen, and absurd and exciting development, just.: 10/10 🌟 This sequel delivers everything and more of what we wanted from Haikyuu!!. New characters join the group, such as Yachi, and with her, a whole development takes place together with fights and disagreements between the main characters and secondary characters who until then did not have much space in the 1st season (such as Shimizu, Oikawa, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, among others...), everything develops in a very exciting way. I confess that I'm one of those people who was rooting for Hinata's romance with Yachi, since the two are very good together and one was essential for the other to develop further and the vibe that the 3rd year characters leave after gradua…

Yep, this season goes harder than the first. That partially comes down to the series' decision to make every team feel distinct and interesting in its own way, even if it's someone Karasuno dispatches rather easily. There's a sense throughout that everyone has a distinct story, and even when we don't get to see anything or only see snippets, the show rarely feels like it's not putting in the effort to flesh them out, make their losses feel painful, and their wins more meaningful. This show is also absolutely fine with showcasing the efforts of these characters first and foremost. There's no sense that it's going to skip through the training arc or make even a practice match feel like a foregone conclusion. At several points during this season, it's mentioned that Karasuno has to prove…

The first half of this season takes a bit of a break from the near constant matches, favoring to show more of what life's like off the court and slowing down to a calmer pace This change in format gives the series a chance for some more detailed character developement that would likely get lost in the break-neck pace of the volleyball court setting The slower pace does not in any way break the intensity built up in season 1 and of what's to come next When game time comes round once again with the preliminaries of the Spring Tournament it brings back with it all that glittering awe from s1 amplified even more by bringing to the matches some of the storytelling style elements of the first half of this season A combination that'll leave you with your eyes sparkling just like a dog when he se…

As much as I loved the first season, seeing the Karasuno team evolve and fight with all their might until the end made me fall in love more. Haikyuu! is not just an anime, its an emotion that even somebody who doesn't love sports will cheer for the team and feel the wins and losses together. A MASTERPIECE! The art was splendidly done. Even the ones on the bench shined throughout. Kageyama and Hinata are the rulers, definitely. Oikawa and Mad dog were so amazing with their quick reflexes but the feeling of winning at the end was surely very heartfelt. I'm on my way to binge-watch Season 3 now.

Overall rating: 6, further review below Now I know what some people might say. "If you didn't like the first season of the anime, why are you continuing it?" And my answer to that is, I'm a filthy completionist and I decide how I want to waste my time. But as I continued the anime, watching Haikyu started to feel like drinking water, without the health benefits. It's something I don't particularly look forward to, but it's such a minor thing that it has somehow become part of my life. Also, I only fell asleep once during this season of Haikyu, so that's already an improvement. The only thing I can really do is adress the elephant in the room. Why on Earth is this season a 6 and not the previous one? The return match against Aoba Josai was a lot more predictable than the first one (I reme…

Haikyuu Second Season! It's basically a mirror image of the first season, except that the characters are more experienced now and the amount of character drama has been minimally reduced. Otherwise, everything is immensely identical. You have training battles, over half the season. Then the tournament starts, they fight some started teams and you can see how they both long for victory, but we know who wins. And then comes the battle of the rivals from the first season and so it ends. Basically, Haikyuu is a sports anime that couldn't be simpler and keeps repeating its sequence of "Training > Training > Tournament" along the way you'll see many amusing scenes or confrontations between hot-headed characters. What makes Haikyuu so special is neither the plot nor the action. But that e…

The second season is what really got me into this show and lead me to binge watch the next seasons and start the manga after. I absolutely love the direction it went to. I learned more about volleyball and got to see so much character growth. Also new characters!! I never thought I would adopt so many kids hahaha. Character growth is something I absolutely love! More than anything else, to me that is what I prioritize in any show or movie and that is exactly what Haikyuu is! Literally everyone grows as an individual and as a team and that just made my heart full! I just love how realistic some of the situations are. I truly was not expecting Karasuno to lose in season 1, but that was exactly what was needed. We see characters who grow and fall back constantly, but still learn how to deal…

This season is just amazing especially the end. It starts normal but the more episodes you see the more it gets better. I really like the fact that is volleyball tournament and I like how it develops. The teams, the characters and the enjoyment gets better every time. There are also some good flashbacks and the end its just amazing. I cant describe it, its just epic. I'm not talking just for this season but for all the manga and the anime in general. I 100% recommend it. I really enjoyed it and I'm sure you will enjoy it 2.

(SPOILER FREE) Season 2 of Haikyuu!! is pretty damn good. It builds upon season 1 and adds a lot more development in terms of characters and the team of Karasuno as a whole. We get to see the team develop into a more fully fledged... well, team, rather than just a group of individuals. STORY (no synopsis): The story takes a bit of a backseat in this season as it's more focused on the characters and trying to develop stronger chemistries and shine a light on previous members of Karasuno we didn't really get to see in season 1. And I honestly think this is when haikyuu!! is at its strongest. This show doesn't need a grand story or anything of that sort, it's about high school volleyball through the eyes of Hinata and it's about Karasuno's rise back to glory. The show hits those story beats…

There's less of a flashback problem this season, and it sustains a lot of the drive that makes it very binge-worthy. The majority of this season is dedicated to growth and development, which is typically my favorite in any anime. The beginning part's "training arc" doesn't disappoint, though there is a bit of a subplot with exams that awkwardly gets in the way. It didn't hold the story back too much as it sort of helped introduce a new addition to the team whose appearance and development I found compelling. The training arc itself itself was very enjoyable despite a lack of "winning". The latter part has the effort satisfyingly pay off and every character gets a moment which is nice.

The ethos of the show have expanded for heightened stakes and more characters to interact with and for good and for bad it really makes it feel like the same show with a new focus. (In other words all of this is me not just wanting to link my season 1 review) That's the basic statement I have on this season because the first season was about the main characters on the team and even more intensely focused on Hinata and Kageyama's own struggles and growing experience together. Season 2 now is about challenging literally everyone on the team with a new cast of rivals that get lots of screen time in the first half of the season, and then lengthy games during their qualifying matches where the main rival and even some of his teammates get their own perspective while the rest of the team works…

I applaud the creators of this show for being able to handle such a big volume of characters without losing their distinctions. I am a writer myself, and I have to admit that writing with lots of characters in hand is hard, so I envy the show for overcoming this kind of hurdle. The second season of Haikyuu proved to be more exciting than its predecessor. Our main characters are struggling to find their rhythm, their opponents are even stronger than those they faced on the first season, and they are constantly reminded that their seniors are close to graduating, making their current battles their seniors' last. The stakes are greater this time, but I am glad that they still share the same level of determination in achieving their goals. I am screaming like crazy as I am watching its clima…

Another season of my beautiful Haikyuu!! boys. This season is about Karasuno preparing for the next Spring Nationals. They go to a training camp in Tokyo and train with some of their powerhouse schools, such as Nekoma and Fukurodani. We got lots of new characters, some of my favorites are Yachi, Lev, Bokuto, and Akaashi. I also read In Another Life and The Galaxy is Endless (I Thought We Were To) around this time. Both fanfictions were really sad and broke my heart into several pieces. Akaashi is also a new husbando of mine, he's just really cute and stuff. If my review for season one didn't convince you to watch this amazing series, then hopefully this one will.

This is late, but it's an honest review Haikyuu season 1 was decent. I enjoyed the anime quite a bit and it was hyped. In Season 2, there are a few things which I didn't like 1) The music could have definitely been better. The background score was poor and it could have had a few more improvements. 2) Haikyuu season 2 developed Yachi's character, however it failed yet again to delve into Shimizu's life. Nishinoya and Daichi also needed some more personal story arcs. 3) Kageyama is like the typical friend of the protagonist who comes in every Shounen anime. It's just a mirror of Sasuke and Yuno. Kageyama had tons of potential when it came to development. The effort put to show his progress from The Great King to a team player was fair, and his interactions were also shown. However, I…

I feel comfortable saying that this season is FAR superior to the first. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first season, but this manages to top it and adapt. There is a lot of character development both individually and the team together, as well as seeing characters like Ennoshita and Yamaguchi get significantly more involved, as they were kind of pushed into the background in the first season. I am hoping we can see the same kind of situation with Kinoshita and Narita soon, as well! As much as they truly capture what goes on on the court phenomenally and it is always engaging, a lot of the time, pausing it is not great because... the faces of characters in the background aren't exactly done the best and look a bit weird. Better than the first season, but still a bit weird. They used s…
