Hibike! Euphonium 2 is a perfect complement to Hibike! Euphonium Season 1. The message of this second season is so powerful. Since it’s set in the second half of the year, the anime gives us a message about the friendships we make along the way, saying goodbye to our old friends, and talking about the regrets in our lives. It also tells us not to leave music or any art just because it isn’t what society expects from us.
First of all, as a Kyoto Animation anime, the animation is perfect. Every single detail is perfect. it’s much better than the animation of Season 1. When they use 3D, you really can’t notice it. There was a particular frame of a green night (why do we have to be realistic when it’s better to be artistic and have an impossible green night?).
The character development was g…

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are so back. After the first season of „Sound!Euphonium“ i was eager to continue with season two because from what i have heard, the community praises the arcs in this part of the story a LOT. So, without further ado, let´s jump directly into it!
Story – 8/10
Wow, this was actually a pretty big turnaround for the show! After watching season one, i felt individual aspects were solid, but the show did not really exceed my expectations in any of them because it jumped around between drama, romance, slice-of-life and music a lot. None of these singular parts was executed entirely back then, but the show was still a really good package.
Now, with season two, the writers apparently decided to switch things around. They cut out a lot: Gone…

If S1 was merely the opening act of a still-fragmented club, then S2 of Hibike is where human emotions and conflicts reach their peak. This is the part where each character not only faces music, but also confronts themselves, their passion, their pressure, and their most intimate fears. Kumiko is no longer the girl who simply drifts along, she’s now placed in situations that force her to choose between personal feelings and collective responsibility. She grows by learning to listen, to empathize, and to face the unspoken struggles within others, and within herself.
Reina, though less in the spotlight than before, shows remarkable maturity. Her journey of overcoming her feelings for her teacher and moving toward her own future is quiet yet deeply meaningful. And Asuka, arguably the soul of…

It was an incredible season compared to the first one and to be honest there was less fake yuri than the first season. I really liked the evolution of several characters. There were only two things I didn't like very much.
Positive points: the photography of this anime is spectacular and each soundtrack makes you want to play an instrument, I really regret not having learned a musical instrument until today and this anime, as well as shigatsu wa kimi no uso, make me want to play something and awaken that dream
Negative points:
First: consequently, some characters were left out, like Shuichi, who was pretty dull, and the romance was pretty empty.
Second: some scenes from the original material were cut, which I found out will be in the third season as well, but I'm already prepared and wi…

Almost as good as season 1. There's less focus on music unfortunately, the last performance was even skipped which is an interesting choice. Less music means more drama, and the drama remained emotional and interesting. Some side characters were focused in many episodes for a change and it worked out well.
This is not exclusive to this season, but you can't help but notice that Kumiko always ends up eavesdropping by chance. It's obviously very convenient for the plot, but feels kinda meh.
Other than that there isn't anything new that can be said about this season that hasn't been said about the first one. It's a great sequel.

Sound Euphonium 2 is an amazing sequel to the first season which already set the anime up in reputation. It excels in the form of the character development and the bonds that were formed over time though it suffers a bit in the form of some forced drama in the first half of the season. If there's something that stood out by the end it was a message to cherish moments as much as you can while they last before they leave forever. Several highlights were the long first episode, the episode 5 performance, the episodes 8-10 and simply the attention to detail: whether it be the subtle expressions that the characters had in interactions or the details to the instruments (just as in season 1), it was heartwarming to see the effort that was put in the creation of the sequel. It feels like the anima…

There is not enough time in our lifetime to spend on things that don't move us. Whether it be great music, great works of art, or even time with a loved one or pet, not spending our time wisely is one of the greatest affronts to all that is good that exists in this world.
Hibike! Euphonium is one of those things that it is more of an affront to all that's good to *not* have watched once in your life.
In my review for the first season, I talked at length about all the things that I absolutely loved about this anime as a whole, and since if you're reading this review you've probably already watched season 1, I will only address season 2. There may be spoilers for season 1, but again, this is season 2, I'm assuming you've already watched season 1, so if you have not, please stop reading now…

The anime ended on a bad note...which makes me not want to continue watching this series
Maybe it's worth accepting for anyone. But for me, it's sad, but still leaves a lasting impression for me, it's truly meaningful to enjoy an excellent work.
Still very impressed with this topic, clearly highlighting each emotion of a musician.
The characters are built very specifically, showing a level of realism
I still find it quite impressive that the movie is not filled with some unreasonable psychological changes in the characters, and the change does not happen quickly, just to a certain extent.
I still feel quite regretful watching it, perhaps because the senpais' construction in season 1 and season 2 was very impressive, but in season 2, there were more ridiculous dramas, the training was not p…

It's one thing for this show to queerbait me, but to do it twice? To do it the second time while switching from a love interest who had a developed and meaningful connection with the protagonist, to one who is basically just an impossible-to-read weirdo that no-one in their right mind would be in love with? Awful. Combine that with excessive focus on interpersonal drama between marginal characters with very little payoff or meaning, and a general lack of focus on what should be the crux of the anime - the craft of music itself - and what you get is a waste of time.
Looks great, though!

I've been in the school band for 5 years, and even though I quit 2 years ago, I'm still in the school symphony. I did marching band, had competitions, many of the events that were described, at least music wise, i have experienced. This anime is something that I could resonate with, at least on a surface level, which is why I believed I started watching in the first place. Of course, I don't resonate with people quitting band in the middle of the school year, since band was a class and not a club, and I can't resonate with having a crush on a teacher. But that's just nitpicking at that point.
Animation: 10/10
Really a no-brainer here. Kyoto Animations is just a master of their craft. I remember seeing a video on youtube for this anime, and after i saw how the eyes were animated, I knew i…

Sound! Euphonium 2 has a lot of magical moments that makes me laugh at the fact that I considered not watching it, shortly after the first season felt kind of average to me. But, lo and behold, we get the sequel that focuses on not just the overall picture, but on certain key characters. For the purposes of this review, I'll assume you've seen season 1.
Story: Kitauji High School's band have just obtained gold in the qualifiers for the regionals and have now set their sights on obtaining gold in yet another competition. There's no way about it - this is their main goal and they'll do what they need to in order to get there. We saw first hand some tough decisions that had to be made, including cutting roughly a dozen students who were in the club, but didn't play to the same level as every…

This is my first time writing a review and English is not my native language. so, forgive any of my mistakes and grammatical errors. This anime was so good that I had to write a review about it, I don't want to forget about how I felt watching this anime. I watched the first season of this anime and I didn't think much about it. it was a pretty average anime for me. but I somehow convinced myself to watch the second season and I am glad that I did. it was a beautiful experience. every character was well written and as the series went on I cared more and more about characters. main character kumiko was shown to be very observant of people, but she never did anything about it. even if she saw someone suffering. she sometimes pretended to not see things she saw. but the more she observed and…

I might not write the best review but here we go:
KyoAni never dissapoints me. This anime, is just pure mastepiece.
Starting from S1, where everyone is just kinda messy in the band, yea now, its just pure perfection. The build up of every character, the character development of most character is just very satisfying to watch.
Dont get me started at the art style in this anime, because its very KyoAni and its f-ing beautiful. Not much to say, its just, beautiful.
Although this anime may not have many music, but all of the music used in this anime is gold.
Overall, this anime score perfect 10, if i may give more i will.
Finished at 7/18/20...exactly 2 years after the KyoAni incident. ALL HAIL KYOTO ANIMATION. THANK YOU SO MUCH KYOTO ANIMATION

Hibike! Euphonium 2 is the sequel to one of the most influential music animes of all time, Hibike! Euphonium. After Kitauji High School Concert Band places gold at the regional competition the club, lead by teacher Noboru Taki puts in as much focus and dedication as possible with hopes of scoring gold at the national competition but due to increasing social divisions in the band many fear that this dream will fail to become a reality.
As previously stated, Hibike! Euphonium 2 is the sequel to the first instalment, Hibike! Euphonium, and follows the same cast from the first time around. The season begins very slowly by introducing Mizore Yoroizuka as the first episode’s protagonist, the clubs only oboe player, and Nozomi Kasaki as the antagonist, a flute player who dropped out the prior ye…

Kyoto animation has once again created something so visually stunning and fluid it's incredible, but not anything that breaks convention or furthers the medium. Yet, the heart of this story is in the characters and writing. It's unusual that I be so profoundly moved by fictional characters, but this anime delivers in a big way. I think it's a 10/10 because there is nothing to suggest that the plot is "made", as to say, but that everything in this show happens 'naturally' and fluidly. The conflict and drama in this show feels profound exactly because it feels so real and actual, something that high-school girls might actually care about, ... to put so much weight on something to 'vain' and selfish, yet be aware of that fact itself.
I can't find any faults in this show. It's not the most m…

Oh, brother, this anime made me love classical and orchestral music more and more. I especially like competitions more and more, not just music.
Story, Characters, Animation, Soundtrack
Story: The story is an extremely good one, even if it is a little sadder than the one from season one, it is still great. And the Ova brothers are brilliant especially the ones with Midori-chan.
Characters: The characters are still the same Midori is still excited and stays where she is not her business and returns to her balls, Hazuki-chan is still nice and always with positive thoughts, Kumiko is all Kumiko is always shy and not she goes where she shouldn't just not to hurt them, cum And how could she not say something about our wonderful Asuka-Senpai she still stays in any situation whether she gets s…

I was excited for this season after the first one being surprisingly good but the first half, in my opinion, was painfully slow. It focused less on drama sorta connected to the band and just drama amongst themselves which they played off as band-related issues. However, over halfway through I think it pulled itself back together and concluded a lot of the problems in a nice way that left me in tears. I especially enjoyed it since Oumae does not seem to express any of her own thoughts until the end and so I felt very impacted by it. I don't think it's necessary to watch this season but I certainly didn't regret it by the end.

"Sound! Euphonium"
[STORY (7)]
There were things that really bother me. I think this one lost focus on the story. The first one was nice cause the focus still on how the club can move forward and win the national competition, struggle to play better, etc. But this one, was more focusing on the drama. Ofc, the drama in the club were all have a strong relation to their performance. But there was too much of that drama till we forget about the struggle of facing competitions. This one also made a big mistake. This show skipped one of the most important part of the story from the beginning of the season 1*. And that was unforgivable. And also this show was trying to tell us that Asuka and Kumiko had a special relation. But it totally failed. Why? Asuka didn't get many screentime as much as Ku…

This will be my review of the second season of this briliant show. So when I first started it, I fully expected this to go through nationals. It did and I loved every second, but that final episode. That killed me. I mentioned in my review of the first season that I was in choir in high school. During that episode, I had a serious flashback to my final concert quite reminiscent of the flashbacks they were portraying in the show. After that concert, we were all balling our eyes out. I teared up watching this episode as a result.
There is one moment between Kumiko and Asuka that is... spectacular. I was not expecting it at all, and it surprised me with SO MUCH FEELS. For a split second, I shipped AsukaxKumiko. That's how good it was. My God. When you get to it, you will definitely know what…

Very disappointed with the whole Yuri bating
That aside, there were some bland moments in season 2 and the timeline was a bit confusing
IDK if I'm just stupid
Reina and Kumiko's moments felt really gay even when they say it's not lmao so I was trying to get that whole image out of my head, it was very Distracting
anyway it's my opinion. U'd have to be blind to miss that whole yuri shit they was throwing in there.
Ehh it was still a good season, the only reason I gave it a 7 was the Asuka arc
It literally single-handedly carried this season, whereas last season it was the Yuri
WHICH I FEEL LIKE I WAS ROBBED OF
It's like the Free situation all over again
