My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!

Introduction

With the Volunteer Service Club now firmly established, it is receiving more requests from students in search of solutions to their various issues. However, the club members often struggle to see eye to eye when it comes to their problem-solving ideals. The suggestions that Hachiman Hikigaya recommends frequently clash with those of Yukino Yukinoshita, fracturing the relationships within the club. Despite their differences, with the trio constantly trying to find common ground, they may soon reach a point where they discover something genuine. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Season 2 completely shifts the tone from the first, moving away from much of the comedy and banter in favour of a more personal and emotionally heavy story. The huge improvement in art and animation is immediately noticeable, making the series look more polished and expressive. Yui, Hayato, and Iroha also become central to the story, with their relationships mirroring the same emotional disconnect growing within the Service Club. Their sanctuary slowly turns into a cage as the trio finds themselves trapped in the very kind of superficial relationships they wanted to escape from. What makes the season so effective is how much it leaves unsaid. Silence, body language, and subtle expressions often communicate more than the dialogue itself, and the animation captures that emotional tension be…

"I can't understand. Yet , I enjoy it. " -Duck Probably because I'm a duck that I'm dumb. [SPOILER AHEAD] I do not understand Hikigaya, Yuigahama and Yukinoshita. I do not understand the conflict, the relationship, the intention. I never do but somehow I managed to enjoy it just for the "feeling", for the romance, for the jealousy. And just because I understand those particular emotions, I thought I understand it. But no... it is not genuine nor is it nowhere near what I could call "understanding". And I know it. It was not until 3-4 years later where I revisit the series and piecing all the puzzles together. Oregairu is not just about romance, it runs deeper than that to explain how society functions through the eyes of Hikigaya. Hikigaya hate liars, but he also tells a lie. He hates…

Wow, I was struck by a strong case of nostalgia because of what I witnessed in this episode. Season 2. Finally, after three and a half months, I finished the second season. A season that I can say was emotional and full of feelings. Hayama's character and the complexities of Yukino's family, both from his mother and sister, were somewhat acceptable, but Heiki and Yui's sympathy for her and the way they reconciled was beautiful, and their journey in the last two episodes was absolutely excellent. I wonder when will each of them express their feelings to each other and to each other? Season 3 will be the end of the tunnel for these young men's stories. Yes, it was a wonderful season and deserves an 8.5/10. I can't say more or less than that, but simply put, I sincerely love Yahari. Toda…

This is where Oregairu transforms from a smart rom-com into a full-blown character drama. Zoku strips away the humorous facade of the first season and dives headfirst into emotional turmoil, strained friendships, and the cost of pretending everything is fine. Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui are all forced to confront uncomfortable truths about themselves and their relationships. The writing is heavy with subtext — silence often says more than dialogue. Every conversation feels like a quiet war between what the characters feel and what they’re willing to admit. That emotional restraint makes the payoff moments incredibly powerful. Character development is subtle but deep. Hachiman's "solution at all costs" mindset begins to crack. Yukino’s strong front shows signs of fragility. Yui hides her pa…

I normally love these kinds of shows because they sweep me up in their drama. I laugh, I hope, and I cry with the characters and their antics—it’s a natural engagement that speaks more to my heart than my head. But it didn’t happen with Oregairu. For some reason, I wasn’t on the same page as this show, and even when I was trying to pay attention, I couldn’t follow what was going on. I found the characters unrelatable, their motivations unrealistic, the results of their actions illogical. I went to the forums after every episode to get a second opinion, to better understand what exactly the conflicts even were and why each character was behaving the way they were. And in the end, I came away with a newfound appreciation of the show as a whole, just from a more deliberate, academic perspecti…

Finally, something decent in the entire series! After the disastrous first season in terms of script and subplots, we arrive at the second season, which is the best of the three. I say this with pride because it's the best I've seen so far. This season has finally included the seriousness and complexity we've been craving since the first season. Thankfully, the stupid romantic comedy isn't present in this season, which makes me incredibly happy. Firstly, the animation has changed for the better. The characters look much better than before, with more realistic expressions and conversations. The scenarios are also much better, and if they had animated the first season like this, I believe it would have been peak Oregairu. Unfortunately, that's not the case, thanks to the deplorable third…

The second season of my teen romantic comedy is Something quite different from the first. While the first season was mostly comedy without romance, the second season is a Genuine reversal with very little comedy and lots of romance (drama). Something I Genuinely did not like in the first season were the ways in which Hachiman 'solved' problems and the consequences of these solutions. This is Something that continues in the second season and leads to very strained relationships between the characters which made the anime Genuinely painful to watch at times and left little room for the comedy of the first season. So you were basically just watching characters awkwardly interact for most of the season. Eventually the characters do get past part of this awkwardness but they replace it with b…

As someone who fell in love with Season 1, I was both excited and nervous about diving back into Hachiman's world. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Season 2 picks up where we left off, but it's clear the stakes are higher. Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui are navigating the complexities of their relationships, and it's beautiful to watch. The character development is astounding – these aren't just characters; they're people with flaws, fears, and dreams. What struck me most was how expertly the show explores the gray areas of human emotions. Hachiman's snarky exterior hides a deep vulnerability, Yukino's cold facade cracks to reveal a tender heart, and Yui's bubbly personality conceals a well of self-doubt. It's relatable, it's real, and it's heartbreaking. The plot twists and turns, ke…

After seeing so much hype and praise for this series as a classic of the romantic comedy genre I am still left flabbergasted as to how this consensus came about. Is it from the lens of nostalgia? Is the original light novel significantly better? I don't see that in any of the other reviews so I am genuinely confused. This anime certainly wants people to believe it is a deep and serious show... except once you look beyond the surface level you will find a crumbling foundation built upon boring, unrealistic story arcs, with emotionally crippled characters that would of been better off going to therapy to resolve their issues since they still cannot talk through them with each other after 2 seasons. The entire point of mixing romance and comedy together is to balance each other to improve th…

The Anime is basically how Women think. The problems and inter personal relationship they face are not complicated or serious, yet they portray it as veeeery complicated, they show as if there is a problem in stupid and casual scenarios. I definitely do not recommend this anime to anyone. 10 billion percent bullshit. Please watch some psychological thriller or something else instead of wasting your time in this bullshit. This anime will be definitely sympathised by most women because stuff they talk about are definitely the kind of topic my mother shouts about all day to my father. The art style and character designs are fabulous and gorgeous and the reason I started watching this anime. It is definitely a huuge waste to have such good art and animation to this piece of garbage. The budg…

Greetings to everyone :) I just finished the series and I would like to enlighten the subject a little bit for those who have a question mark in their minds by expressing my own humble opinions. I would like to point out that my comment contains spoilers for those who still haven't finished the anime. First of all, I think those who support the relationship between Yui and Hikki completely misunderstand the event. It was thought that Yukino needed Hikki and Hikki needed Yui, but in my opinion, this is a completely wrong determination. Don't get me wrong, Yui is a character I like a lot, but Yui's role here was only to cross Yukino and Hikki's paths. Although Yukino and Hikki seem to be very similar to each other, they are actually two opposite characters. Hikki has always been a shadow th…

Quite frankly, these teens are really awkward and I just wanna give them all a hug. As other reviewers have already mentioned, this is not a show that is for everyone, and not everyone is going to understand it (specifically season 2) because it is very cryptic. This is not me trying to say that only some "enlightened" or exclusive population of anime watchers is capable of enjoying this show; quite the opposite actually. SNAFU is for the broken; people who looking back are not satisfied with their past selves or are utterly incompetent at expressing what they are going through. The 3 main characters are frustrating yet endearing for me. Hachiman in particular does things that make you cringe and dislike his style, until you realize that you once acted in similar ways in your youth. May…

It's a very good anime series. This is the 2nd time I watch it again because season 3 has already premiered. So I decided to watch the first 2 seasons again, this is certainly one of the Anime series that left an impression on my heart. The layout builds characters with depth together and thus makes for a great Anime series. This Anime series has done a great job in creating great characters like Hikigaya, Yukinoshita, Yuigahama Yui. Oregairu was voted the best light novel by the prestigious Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! for 3 consecutive years, 2014, 2015 and 2016. In those years Hachiman was also voted as the most popular male character. And Yukino was voted the most favorite female character in 2015. The illustrator Ponkan⑧ was also voted the most favorite illustrator in 2015 and 2016.…

My Teen Romantic Comedy TOO! - Ah, maybe it’s finally time for romance to enter the anime that is in the romance genre? Well, NOPE! We still got no romance in this anime in season 2. However, there have been other improvements. (spoiler free) Story - 6 Season 1 lacked any ongoing plot or storylines. It just jumped from arc to arc with no direction. In season 2, we actually get that direction. A majority of the season is spent on the election for the student council, and then the student council working on an event. This isn’t too exciting, but it’s progress, and allows for viewers to actually find some reason to keep watching. So there IS a story this time a round, but it’s not super fun to watch. There are also some weird inconsistencies, like why is the student council just letting H…

Oh good, it's finally over. Those are the only thoughts I had at the end of any episode of this show. Never has a series been so anti-fun, anti-enjoyable for me. Are these characters supposed to be relatable? Am I supposed to identify with their struggles? I hate every single one of them and the best conclusion to this love triangle would be each of them dying alone because none of them deserve to be happy. Hiki is the most hateable white-knight type protagonist who has this complex where he thinks he's the most special and needs to constantly be falling on swords for other people. The show treats this as a personality flaw but sure as hell doesn't do anything to punish his behavior or correct it. The pink hair girl is one of the worst examples of "girl that won't admit she like protagon…

THIS IS A SPOILER FREE REVIEW I was in the mood for something chill ,so i watched the second season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (or short Oregairu). I expected more of the same and i was right ...and wrong. Story - 6/10 The different storylines or arcs were thematically better than the first season. They were more interesting and unique. Different characters are given the spotlight and the events felt natural, as expected from a slice-of-life anime. But the big problem of this series is something that i already noticed in the first season. This show feels RUSHED. They tried to fit 18 Light Novels into a show with only three seasons containing 39 episodes. Considering the fact that one light novel normally covers about 6 episodes, the different arcs and events fly by and characters…

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku For many fans of the first series, this season will probably be a shock, not because of bad quality, but because of a very big scene change. Whereas the first season was still a real comedy, with a sarcastic introvert as the protagonist. The second season is just an oversized relationship drama, but with relatively interesting approaches and perspectives of the characters. Those who were fans of the first season will be disappointed because everything that the predecessor had is replaced here. However, I like this much more serious and critical version significantly more. [Story 3] Well, since this is a slice-of-life anime, you don't need to expect anything in terms of story. Each character is trapped in his own conflict, unabl…

Sadly when I reviewed season 1, I already expected season 2 to be a little different. The writers found something to appeal to some fans, who are happy with a slow nothing happens anime and that's great; but is just not for me. To me, season 2 was season 1 again, just with a hint more of emotion from how the group of three react around each other. Despite stimuli from outside, it drags, it barely moves, no decision is made and the reality is by now normal people would pursue relationships or friendships outside, even if these aren't normal people. We know these are the billy "no mates" or Freddy "no friends" as they are square pegs for round holes with Yui most socially adept but at the same time, probably the lowest intelligence wise. The same annoying, catchphrases and attitudes from c…

I just finished watching the third season and I can say that I loved it. I really like how they try to make loving someone much more than a feeling, you feel many things at the same time for a person. The development of this last season is very nice because the characters know about the love triangle in a moment the protagonist moves away from the one he likes and that reaches the kokoro because he really needs it. They resolve it with a confession without saying I love you or I love you, that seemed beautiful to me and the series ends with the chabona saying I love you no no. Beautiful recommended not the following look at it if or if you will not regret it En español: Acabo de terminar de ver la tercera temporada y puedo decir que me encanto. Me gusto mucho como tratan de hacer que am…

best romance anime ever finally a romance anime with good art style proper story and epic art style oregiaru surpasses all other romance anime by a large margin and is a billion times better than those lame shoujo manga where some idiotic prince comes to the rescue and suddenly a huge harem has formed from a lame weird and senseless plot. if you dont want to experience any of the flaws of such romance anime and genuinely want to watch a heartfilling romance anime then oregairu is right up your alley. would recommend it to anyone who has eyes and a few brain cells to recognise its ingenuity.
