Hiiro no Kakera: The Tamayori Princess Saga

Hiiro no Kakera: The Tamayori Princess Saga

Introduction

Gods and ghosts only exist in fairy tales, right? That's the impression that high school girl Tamaki Kasuga has before she goes to live with her grandmother in the remote village of Kifumura. After being attacked by strange creatures upon her arrival, she is soon informed that females in her family contain the blood of the Tamayori Princess, who has the responsibility and power of keeping gods and ghosts sealed away so that they can't harm the general public. At first, Tamaki has trouble believing this, but having five beautiful young men following her everywhere she goes, acting as her guardians, goes a long way towards convincing her. There's more to this job than Tamaki first realizes, however, and the path that lies ahead of her is fraught with peril and danger. Will she be able to successfully take on the heavy role that has been put on her shoulders?

This show suffered from weak villains, nonsensical plot writing, and an overall lack of romance for something considered "reverse harem." Tamaki grows up in Tokyo, and one day is sent to live with her grandmother, where she finds out she is a Tamayori Princess. These princesses are tasked with protecting five artifacts that, in turn, protect a seal that is keeping away a demon. Due to her grandmother's old age, the seal has been getting weaker, and so Tamaki has been asked to live with her to awaken her Tamayori powers and restore the seal. One would assume that her grandmother would take this time to teach and instruct her granddaughter on what it means to be a princess, and how to activate her abilities to ensure that the "end of the world" doesn't occur if the seal is broken....but…

tl;dr: The show left me feeling like I just watched a whole lot of nothing. CHARACTERS: Surprisingly, I didn't really find the female protagonist Tamaki that whiny or annoying. Sure, she did seem naive sometimes (and some lines were cringe), but it's not her fault no one told her anything? One day, she's suddenly sent to live with her grandmother, and out of nowhere, she's told she's a descendant of some Tamayori princess and has to save the world? Honestly, I felt bad because she was just thrown all this responsibility on top of having to adapt to a new environment. She tries to do what she can, but her grandmother refuses to tell her anything or even meet her. Which is honestly baffling? Like why? I get that the grandmother has grown old and her powers are weakening and whatnot, but wha…

To this very day, I still don't know what possessed me to start and (tragically) finish this thing. It's awful. The characters, animation, the plot, everything is so bad, it can't be salvaged. My sister (who didn't watch it) told me "Hey, you should watch it. I found it because I listened to the OP and ED and I liked it" and my stupid 16yo me who just watched anime for the sport of it was like "alright, I'll give it a try" and so I wasted hours of my youth. I'm grateful that it's been so long since I watched it so I can't remember most of the details, my old brain has done a great work supressing the traumatic memories of this event. That said, the feeling of disgust and rage-filled disappointment are still vivid until this day. No one should sit through this damned thing. Yeah, this r…

Advice? Don't. This anime will bring nothing to you except pure frustration. You think at least the male characters are nice? No. They're just made of nothingness and it does not get detailed at all. We just have their facade image until the very end. Welcome to Hiiro no Kakera! You get failure girl, crybaby guy, sleepy guy, upset guy, short guy and Adult man! DO NOT watch. Again I'm telling you this, the story isn't worth it but if you just want to play something while you're busy, surely this anime will fulfill its duty. Well, not even but it'll make you less bored than you already were I guess. One thing that was good is the opening which I haven't skipped even once so props to the anime for having ONE good thing ! I have lost hours of my life to check if this was really bad and tru…

This is my favorite anime. I truly love this anime. The visuals in this anime are quite beautiful, the story does drop in season 2 but it's really good overall. The main girl is quite whiny and granny really grinds my gears but the male characters are developed really well & kinda over take the story. My favorite character was Suguru. The evil characters reminded me of the Valtura from Twilight. But I also liked Aria. This is super underrated and I'm not sure how this gets skipped over. And some people just tend to judge hard. So if you go into this with an open mind, I promise you can find something to enjoy about this.

Hiiro no Kakera wasn't terrible, but still one of my least favorite otome. At first, I was a little interested by the setting and supernatural circumstances that brought the reverse harem together. However, the show wasn't able to utilize it beyond the "protect these certain important items for the fate of the world but then still fail at it" trope. Everything else was just the characters sitting on top of the rooftop talking about stuff. There was also the possibility of a traitor among them, but that's rarely addressed until season two (and don't get me started with how that's resolved). Next were the characters, and they were really bland. The male leads acted on typical harem archetypes, and the female lead was plain with her only personality trait being "I want to be useful". The i…

The whole series was such a waste of time. I have NEVER been so STRESSED and so FRUSTRATED and so ANNOYED over a female protagonist before. I feel like stabbing myself wasting me time watching this ugh... But, I quite like the guys of the show (especially Mahiro because he reminds me so much of Chuuya from BSD). I know this was an anime adaptation of the visual novel, and a lot of visual novel adaptations are quite... bad. This one wasn't TOO bad, it was okay. Would I recommend it? Yeah if you like hot anime boys and wasting your time.

1/10 I can honestly say this is without a doubt the most boring anime I've ever had the pleasure to experience. The characters are bland, boring, and quite frankly, pathetic. None of them gave anything of value to the story. Their abilities and powers were worthless and with the skills they have in this show I'm surprised they even managed to help at all. The plot was barely existent. I feel like you could watch the first and last episode and still have a fairly decent idea of what was going on. I don't even understand how the writers managed to create a plot like this. Getting through this anime was an absolute chore, and I nearly fell asleep so many times while watching. I would not recommend this to anyone I know.

Hiiro No Kakera in my view one of best romance/ drama series. In the very opening with the opening song, to the animation, which features fall season. Which I enjoy a lot because fall is my favourite season. To all the characters in which every male harem I seen I feel some male characters overshadow others, while this one just blend together with the female character. Which is other great fact is lead female character didn't get overshadow either, in fact it was focus on her and her journey. One key ingredient for me to love the show, is me wanting more. I try looking up see it's manga series and sadly there not big series. I think others will love this series, for the journey each character takes and how they work as kinda of mishap family, and the opening music will make you want to le…

Hiiro no Kakera Season 1 Review -5/10 I love Reverse Harem. I really do. That's why I've tried watching it. Romance, Reverse Harem and Historical. A perfect combination for me. So here, this is my review for this Anime. Plot: 6/10 The concept is okay, I guess. It is quite predictable and there's nothing much to be excited about, honestly. Well yeah, there are some questions in mind that will make you think to watch the next season. But it's 50 50 for me. Though I don't skip what anime I've already started so I will watch it some other time. T is quite difficult to give a review without spoiling anyone so I'll warn you. While this anime focuses on protecting something precious, they keep on losing and ranting on their situation, again and again. It makes me want to forward it to the next s…

Interesting beginning but with bits and pieces that keeps annoying me as i go on. So why would i say this as a starter. Well as a beginning i dont think the story is bad per say although it wont say its original either. A zeal that shouldnt be unlocked and so on so on. For me the story begun good enough it was a nice beginning and i felt like it was felt good going into it. Then as the story went i felt it started to get rushed or it felt like they just had to push every action scene imaginable as they went on. Honestly it felt uninteresting at some point since you never got to enjoy the anime or the scenery that was drawn it was more like when were done with this lets rush to this place and so on although its only 12 episodes so i will give them a break for that since most short anime li…

To begin, I'd like to say that this review will only be considering the first season of this anime (the first thirteen episodes). I just got done watching Hiiro no Kakera a few moments ago, and I thought I should go ahead and review what I've seen so far before moving on to the next season. I will not include any spoiler content. With all of that being said... Before I move onto actually critiquing different aspects of the series, there are a few points I would like to bring up. For one, Hiiro no Kakera, as far as I've watched, seems to be an anime that caters almost exclusively to its main genre--romance. In other words, be sure not to watch this show expecting it to have much action, drama, or any other element; the romance aspect of the story is focused on almost entirely, leaving ever…

In short, this is a quite enjoyable anime. The story is well written, even though it might appear boring for some if not most people. However, those of you who likes to watch show based on mythologies, this is a perfect anime for you. Story: The story is well-paced.I have not seen any sort of rush in both of the season. It developed it's way through from the very first episode till the end and resolves all the conflict it presents. The first season starts off with introducing Tamayori hime and the five seal guardians, and quickly brings in the enemies into the plot without wasting any time.Instead of slowly talking about the Tamayori and Onikirimaru legend,it instead tells the story part by part.I'm pretty sure this is what throws a lot of viewers out who wants to see a quick plot that goes str…

Hiiro no Kakera (Seasons 1 & 2) in a word: Forgettable I can't even tell you the characters names. I knew there was the one chick and a couple guys who had different color hair, and that's basically the gist of this anime. Also I guess they has powers or something to fight fairytale/not fairytale creature things that make the woods 2spooky4them. No romance, no excitement. I kept hoping for a reverse harem battle for love to happen between the guys. Never happened. When I was watching this, my mind would wander. I would start thinking about tater tots or JFK (who done it) or how to solve world hunger and then I would remember "Oh snap, I forgot I waz watching somethin'." And then I would try to force my attention back onto it. I guess it didn't work since I barely remember anything about…

Since I'm so lazy, I'll write a review for BOTH seasons here. Okay! So Hiiro no Kakera was recommended to me by a friend and I was pretty exited to watch it.. At the beginning I was a little confused about the Tamayori princess stuff, but later on I began to understand the concept of everything. I have to say I immediately fell in love with the characters. Their look was outstanding, they had great personalities, the way their past was introduced was amazing. Every character had his/her own story that was told in different ways throughout the episodes, and that's what I really liked. I really liked the voice actors and I think they did a very good job, The story was really good. I haven't watched many anime, but in my opinion, it was unique. The plot in both seasons was interesting and…

When I watched the first episode of Hiiro no Kakera, I was super excited to continue watching it. It got my attention the first few minutes and I loved the characters and how they were presented. But about half way in the series, it started to disappoint me a little. Story: 8 I very much enjoy the concept of a MC discovering that they're actually a powerful guardian. It gives them time to adjust and adapt to what they need to become. Although it is a reverse harem/Shoujo/romance anime, the action scenes and supernatural elements were really cool in my opinion. I have to admit, guys may not want to watch it because of the little random things each of the main male characters will say in order at the end to 'appeal to the audience' and some guys may find it weird. XD Art: 8 I liked the a…

I loved Hiiro no Kakera! It was amazing. I was a little uncertain at first but after the first few episodes it really got good. I'm supposed to tell you why I liked it so I'll do my best. I really like reverse harems. I said that on my profile, so this is about as reverse harem you can get. The main character is really great. Her personality is real and a lot like me. I would do mostly what she did. (I really hate animes that I want to punch the main character in the face for being stupid.) The romance in this anime is wonderful. I really mean it, although most of it is in the second season, it is still developing from the beginning. And I gave it a nine in enjoyment only because I selfishly wanted there to be just a little more romance in the first season, because I love it so much, and I…

This is my second review so I hope this goes well. I gave this anime a 6 overall rating, which for me is actually pretty good. it was a n enjoyable watch, with a few problems that I think brought down the overall rating for me. Story: The story is where the anime lost a lot of points for me. first of all you have your main character, Tamaki, who is you average useless girl who is thrust into a situation where she gets to have multiple hot guys basically protect her from everything while each falling love with her. In that respect it`s you typical reverse harem, but what really got to me was the main idea of the story, which this site explains pretty well, of a girl getting special powers and is guarded by five men who are half demon. But for me this story line wasn`t used to its fullest…

Story:5/10 The story is a typical reverse harem, where 5 boys are the guardians of the lead heroin Tamaki. The story starts pretty slowly and often repeats itself for the first few episodes, but by the end, it was somewhat captivating. Art: 5/10 For a anime that was made in 2012, it's art style was old and didn't really stand out, nothing special. That being said, it didn't bother me or take away from the story. Characters: 6/10 They are kinda cliche characters, but do have some unique elements. There's nothing that really stood out to me. Enjoyment/overall: 6/10 Although at times, I didn't think the story was going to go anywhere, by the last episode I did want to see what would happen next. I enjoyed that by the end at least some of the characters were explained and built more depth t…

All right, I'll break down my review the way MyAnimeList does it. Story-5 The story starts out with out heroine going to Kifu to stay with her grandmother, since her parents are going over seas to, if I remember correctly, Africa. There she is confronted by things known as 'drowned gods' and is consequently told by her grandmother that not only is she the next Tamayorihime, but that she and her guardians also have to protect the artifacts that keep this thousand year old demon, Onikirimaru, sealed. The only catch is that she has yet to awaken as the Tamayorihime. And thus, her life filled with really bizarre hot guys, weird supernatural events, persistent and crazed bad guys, and deceitful people behind every turn, begins! Okay.I honestly really wanted to like this anime. I think the s…
