What I Watched: "I'm Quitting Heroing"
What I Expected: "The Devil is a Part Timer"
What I Actually Got: "How a Banished Hero Rebuilds the Demon Lord's Kingdom"
Before it aired, just from the title I thought it’s going to be another Banished From The Hero’s Party, and was lowkey hoping for a chill show. Then, after the first ep I was like “Oh so this is more of a goofy comedy” Then next few eps, “Ah so this is another Rebuild the Kingdom type of show. Showing how to manage an organization. Manpower, admin, logistics. Ok I’m on board” Then came eps 6 and this show finally "turned the corner" from "reasonably okay" to "damn right it's worth following". The story isn't always subtle. In fact, subtlety occasionally gets thrown out of the window, tied to a rocket, and launched into another d…

Offers an interesting perspective on hero genres, just don't watch the last episode pls.
This show is very much story-driven. There are very few fights, and they all suck except for the last one, which is less sucky. That is not bad, but it would mean that the story or something else would have to hard-carry. The animation is not eye-catching, the fight choreography suck, and the relationships between the characters could be better. They staked everything on making a good story, and they dropped the fucking ball.
The first 11 episodes, so the whole show pretty much, have a pretty well-written story. It's relatively thought-provoking for this type of genre, and the last part almost made me tear up a little. But then they decided fuck all that, let's reinforce the stereotypes for this genr…

It started off slow and a bit unserious but as it developed I really grew to like Leo and I LOVED his arc. The show really evaded my expectations in the best way, and I really liked how all of the unseeming relationship building paid off bigtime towards the climax of the story. Some of my usual complaints apply with this one: I wish Leo was more developed as a character and I wish he were more focused on and given more room to grow. Also, the show starts out a bit goofy especially with his initial presentation to the queen with undermines his communication skills later (or rather, makes them inconsistent). If the show had just remained serious it probably could’ve avoided this. Also, there's some tonal inconsistency between the first half of the show and the second but 1) it’s pretty gradu…

The hero who decided to give up his title.
Yuusha, Yamemasu was an anime that ended up surprising me far more than I expected. The premise alone grabs your attention: we are used to stories where the hero defeats the Demon King and lives happily ever after, or gets transported to another world to start a new adventure. Here, however, something quite different happens. After saving humanity, the hero finds himself rejected by the very kingdom he protected; with nowhere else to go, he decides to... look for a job in the Demon King's army.
That idea alone was enough to pique my curiosity. Seeing the protagonist literally offer to work alongside the very people he had just defeated was unexpected and highly entertaining. Fortunately, the anime manages to explore this concept in an interestin…

I'm Quitting Heroing caught my interest with its premise alone: a hero who has saved humanity grows disillusioned and decides to join the demons instead. That setup gives the series a slightly darker undertone than expected, and for a while it works. Watching Leo gradually earn the trust of Echidna’s generals was engaging enough to keep me watching, and the episodic structure of helping one general at a time never really bothered me. Out of the cast, Steina was the only general I ended up genuinely liking, but Leo himself was interesting enough to carry much of the show.
The anime also starts to improve once it reveals more of Leo’s backstory. That part gave his actions more weight and made it feel like the story was building toward something more bittersweet or unconventional. Unfortunat…

Sebenernya kaya berlebihan ngasih 10/10, tapi jujur jarang ada anime yang bikin beres nonton cek manga ampe tamat terus hampa wkwkwk. Alurnya sebenernya standar, MC overpower ketemu raja iblis, dikalahin, tapi si MC ibaratnya kaya dikhianati ama manusia jadinya dia mau pindah ke kaum iblis.

At first glance, this looks like just another “Banished Hero” imagination churned out by the industry. But if you stick with it, you’ll find a diamond in the rough that hits way harder than it has any right to.
Synopsis:
Leo Demonheart saved the world, but instead of a parade, he was exiled. He is too mighty for man to master and is cast away by the ones he saved. Where else is an unemployed overpowered hero supposed to go? Straight up to the demon queen he just killed and asking for a job.
Of course, she refuses him. But Leo is relentless, and he goes undercover to fix her crumbling army from the inside.
Why it gets an 8/10:
The biggest strength of this show is that it’s not just a comedy about workplace management in a dungeon. It tricks you.
The Shift: After a few episodes, the tone s…

Review: A Strong Start That Loses Its Way
The show begins with promise, but it loses its spark as the plot progresses. While the story is inherently heavy, the execution fails to convey that weight effectively. Characters often behave unnaturally, and the writing feels somewhat forced. Ultimately, the series requires more depth and a more measured pace to truly succeed.
The Story & Writing
The setup is relatively unique and full of potential. However, the writing feels strained as it rushes toward major plot points. The series would have benefited greatly from a slower pace and more narrative depth; because the progression is so rapid, the high stakes feel unearned.
Characters & Realism
This was my greatest hurdle. The characters frequently react to situations in ways that feel unnatural…

I understand why people like it.
I think it’s interesting how the protagonist interacts with the characters, and how each of them gets their own small arc and development within such a short span of 12 episodes. The anime managed to make the characters feel important; even though the protagonist gives off the impression that he could solve any problem with his strength and abilities, they still prove useful by noticing or doing things that he didn’t. Maybe that’s the strongest point of the series: in the end, it’s about friendship and belonging, and each arc shows something that can only be realized or achieved with the help of someone else. The protagonist is that person, and as the anime progresses, the people he helped become the ones who help him in return at the end.

I watched this when it first aired and really enjoyed it. I'd say it's a lot different from the typical "banished hero revenge" stories. This one has a more somber approach. I initially liked it because the twist was quite unique for this genre of anime and it was quite wholesome for the most part.
However I recently rewatched it, and now I think it's terribly underrated. It's actually so touching at the end and I cried, which is crazy because it at a glance it looks like your typical anime slop. But the story takes it self seriously and it focuses heavy on character development. Each episode focuses on one of the great general's back stories, building up to an episode about the demon queen and the main character. And I have to say if you like character development it's actually kind of b…

As you watch the show it quickly becomes apparent that the plot primarily focuses on the hero's efforts to manage the recovering demon empire, bringing stability and structure to its ranks. We don't learn the backstory of too many of these characters in depth, and there isn't much to be said for the usual themes like romance. As the plot unravels, the show's true focus on the hero's personal journey becomes clear. Leo is most certainly not just a jaded hero, and the concept behind the show mostly revolves around discovering why he is the way he is now. We learn most of his backstory in episode 6 and from that point on the ultimate climax that the viewer should expect seems clear.
Each character went through their arc, except perhaps for Echidna, who doesn't learn anything of substance. Th…

It was a really great show, the story had the right amount of complexity and character depth. The animation was pretty good, voice acting was nice as well. 3/4 of the way through I was worried that the ending was going to be disappointing, but I was wrong. Don't go in expecting some masterpiece, but instead be surprised that an isekai style anime actually turned out well with a good story. A few things I didn't like though, the depth of character interaction is pretty weak, especially considering the circumstances in the plot, Some characters and the tropes that were used are annoying, such as the constant crying of that one animal child and unfitting obliviousness of the queen at certain moments. But, besides those things, the show was a good watch. Pleasantly suprised.

Watch episodes 1-7 then quit. These first 7 episodes is a fun, quirky anime with likeable characters, interesting challenges to overcome with wits and experience, the hero's role is "a competent manager". It's lightweight, humorous, and very enjoyable. 8/10
Then, starting ep 8, we're getting a completely different anime. The protagonist stops being smart, fun and competent, and suddenly turns into an edgy idiot with martyr complex. All the fun is swapped for cheap drama, all the smart decision-making is replaced with a massive and completely pointless battle because MC picked an enormous idiot ball. 3/10 and a lingering bad taste,
Animation, production quality, art - all mid, passable, nothing to write home about. The cast - likeable, and a little deeper than what you see at a glance. Th…

This anime is more about being a good company employee. Aka a company drone.
While the context is about demon and so on, the MC (but not the whole cast) is a typical person who suffers from a mental illness knows as workaholic.
However, since this is a fictive work, of course the MC shows 0% issues of why workaholism is a mental illness. Well, at least not directly.
So what does indirectly mean?
1: lack of self ASIDE from "I want to be recognised by boss and make my company the best" that on it's own is of course, not an issue, but the idea is that this is the only exception, nothing else.
2: While in the anime, the MC organize things to work as best as possible, if you where to ignore that the author intentionally made things to work out, you essentially have someone who constantly…

This is one of the only isekai/fantasy anime where I generally remember what happened, despite watching it a long time ago. It has a slow start, while also seeming goofy and cliche in the beginning. However, by the end I have found that they really put a lot of thought into the story. It's interesting, original and cohesive.
The characters aren't great, but the more you learn about the main character the more interesting it gets. The animation is passable. The setting is kind of boring. A lot of parts in the show were just too cliche for anime. However, it's all counteracted by how well the story comes together in the end.
Also, although it's not as egregious as other anime, I have to give an obligatory -1 for stupid loli gags.

An extremely entertaining work, capable of enticing the attentive viewer with its deep interesting plot with a lot of thought-provoking situations, depicted by the author under the guise of, for example, ordinary training of troops, during which the viewer is indirectly taught how to treat his subordinates. It would seem that this anime has all the usual standards for today's anime: a super-strong protagonist, demons and other annoying templates of any other anime. But here it all feels.. better? It doesn't get boring, you don't get the feeling of “it's been in a hundred other anime”. The title doesn't manage to bore you, tossing in new content in each episode that is different from anything that came before.
But, it's not without its flaws. 12 episodes weren't enough to fully explore the…

Overall, I thought it was a great watch; I'm not especially particular or critical about anime.I watch because it is my way of enjoying things as they are.
Story
It was enjoyable right from the beginning. After reading the first section of the sypnosis, I assumed the Hero would join the Demon Army and engage in actual combat with humanity, but this does not appear to be the case. Since it is a fairly light show overall with a hint of seriousness at the end, you could definitely watch it in one sitting.
I thought it was an intriguing approach to an OP protagonist. The show ended on a lighthearted note, despite taking an odd turn near the end.
Animation
It's what you would anticipate from a typical, non-headliner modern anime. The fight scenes weren't particularly good, but they weren…

tl;dr: An anime that’s overall pretty rough, but has a single unexpected core aspect that’s pretty amazing.
This anime is one that starts as one thing, but ends as something completely different. The first half or so of the anime is centered around the hero, Leo Demonheart wanting to join the Demon Queen, Echidna’s, army. The demons were going through a tough time and could certainly use the help. However, Leo’s the one that put them in such dire straights in the first place so Echidna rejects him. However, he’s still adamant about joining so he ends up working out a deal with the generals that work under her. From there, he basically goes around helping out each of the generals learn some sort of management technique to help them better serve as leaders within the Demon Army. These range…

While the animation and voice acting leave a little to be desired, the core premise was done with enough of a twist to be interesting. I was especially surprised to see a series that actually went into the logistics behind making an army.
While the last episode was... definitely a choice, the rest of the series is enjoyable. The main character does get expanded upon, but he is very much a character at the end of their story and is mostly there to bolster the rest of the cast while providing interesting lore and story.
The story itself starts out fairly generic but does evolve into something far more interesting later on, even if some of the side characters are underutilized. The main flaw of the show, for me, were the monologues and exposition dumps that would happen throughout the show…

No major spoiler.
The story starts with hero wanting to join the Demons for revenge against the human. Though there's no hint of that in the story.
The concept gets pretty good though and there are moments the story shines. But character's other than hero are simple. It tries to be comedy but it isn't even funny. The story is sometimes good sometimes mid. But i think Slice of Life would have been a great focus for this story.(If they did that)
Overall Good Anime 7/10
May improvement could be made. But the show doesn't give you any empty feelings it feels comfortable.
