I was surprised to see all the negative reviews on this anime despite it being one of my favorites! I absolutely loved this anime and I rewatch it all the time.
I think people go into this anime expecting realism of sorts, and I don't fault them because if you're going to have something at the forefront of the anime, such as being an arms dealer, you're going to expect for there to be accuracies about said thing. Whether it is or isn't doesn't matter to me personally because I don't care if the guns are realistic tbh. I'm not necessarily watching the anime because I'm expecting it to teach me the specs of an ak-47 (though I don't disagree that it probably should've). I think the thing about the guns in the anime is that they're more of a plot device for the bigger picture, if that makes…

7.0/10 ~ Fun ride.
For starters this really felt like a spiritual successor to Black Lagoon, which is certainly a guilty pleasure of mine, and Koko Hekmatyar is probably now one of my top favorite charecters of all time and that... that just feels weird considering this show isnt all that amazing.
I randomly picked this up for no particular reason, and before I knew it I finished both seasons in about 2 days after not expecting to finish season 1. This is the rare show that I think I enjoyed it more then the actual quality of the show, the actual quality sitting at probably a 5.0 to maybe a 6.0/10. Most of the charecters are bland, motivations are almost stereotypical, and the Jonna the technical main character is such a bad character, but the only reason I kept watching was for Koko th…

The first season of Jormungand is not very good. The animation is uninspired, and the character designs leave much to be desired. The narrative is not particularly interesting, failing to engage the viewer, and the pacing is somewhat inconsistent. The worst part is that it is boring. Despite being labeled as an action series, there is very little of it. The fights are nonsensical and lack any emotional impact. Ultimately, the anime lacks a clear purpose and fails to excel in any aspect. It's not technically a bad series, but it definitely is not a good one. Jormungand is a painfully average anime that offers little to captivate viewers.

"I'm on a journey with an arms dealer" -Jonathan Mar-
Surely you're no stranger to a crime-themed movie, guns with a lot of gore action scenes. And, Jormungand is such an anime
—STORY—
The story is set in a world where criminals, arms trafficking organizations, etc. are raging everywhere. We follow a young female merchant, she is the boss of a famous and wealthy arms trading organization. Following her are veterans with combat experience who are always ready to do a good job when needed. And the story begins with a new member joining the organization.
That's basically the story. To be honest, the plot of Jormungand is quite simple and somewhat predictable. The events in the film are also quite disjointed one-way. It spends a lot of time showing viewers how an arms dealer works, but…

Oh boy, where do I even begin with Jormungand? I mean, what's not to love about an anime about a group of lovable misfits traveling the world selling illegal weapons to anyone who will buy them? And let's not forget the main character, Jonah, who hates weapons and those who deal them but is somehow convinced to become a bodyguard for an international arms dealer. I mean, that's just good, solid logic right there.
But wait, it gets better! The team is constantly pursued by the CIA and assassins, so they have to constantly protect their dear leader Koko and her "overly idealistic goal of world peace" with their lives. Oh, and did I mention that Koko is an international arms dealer? Yeah, that whole world peace thing might be a bit of a stretch.
Overall, Jormungand is a wild and absurd ride…

Jormungand follows a group of individuals with all different but interesting personalities which bounce off eachother really well. With being a group of bodyguards protecting an arms dealer it does manage to keep you engaged through it's very entertaining action scenes it also connects you deeply to each person within the group and actually come to like each of these individuals throughout the show.
As for the ending it wasn't the best and would've liked for it to get another 12 episodes to just clean alot of it up but they just decide to leave it to the viewers imagination which I dislike alot since I just see it as lazy.
Nonetheless I found it very entertaining and hold it very highly with what it gave me, so if you're on the edge on thinking whether to watch I'd say go for it since it d…

Note: This will be a review of both seasons.
Overview:
Weapons, weapons, weapons. We all know of them. Some of us have used them, some of us have had our lives destroyed by them, some even both. But very rarely have we ever stopped to wonder "Where do weapons come from?", "How are weapons distributed across the globe?" or "What is going through the heads of those who deal in such things?". If you've ever had an itch to learn the answer to these questions, then you can consider that itch sufficiently scratched by "Jormungand", a highly entertaining action series that takes a big leap into the lives of arms dealers, while also providing a very accurate study of both weapons and the military.
Story (7/10):
The story is told from the perspective of H&C Logisitics Incorporated, or HCLI for sh…

I'm baffled by the low scores of this stellar anime! Some reviews have good critiques, others aren't even looking for a show like Jormungand and are surprised they don't like it.
I'm here to tell YOU, if you like action, a good story, memorable characters, and a show that leaves you thinking at the end this is for you. Plus anyone that liked Black Lagoon will definitely love this show.
The animation and sound design go hand in hand to deliver beautiful action scenes and great meaty sounds from the guns. The show has some light comedy as well and gives some good backstory about the main cast.
Overall, this anime would be in my top ten action shows I've ever watched. Will I watch it again? Most definitely.
Why are you still reading this? I rewatched this show twice and you're still re…

One of my favorite shows of all time. This show perfectly portrays the art of war, in the simplest way possible. It shows the wars through the scope of the soldiers and those controlling them. In this world of war, you find out that there really isn't a "good" side. Both sides are just doing what they think is right.
The show also develops each character so uniquely. Something that is rare in anime's nowadays. Each character has it's own story and way of thinking....which makes it very interesting to watch.
Overall, this show is a must watch if you're trying to understand the art of war and the intentions behind it. And can there be such a thing called "world peace"?
Enjoy!!!

Honestly, Jormungand isn't all that.
Its a low budget Black Lagoon.
Its got a similar style and setting, but the cast of Jormungand isn't that well written or directed. Only a handful of main characters get any kind of characterization and even then barely any development.
The majority of the cast are females who are clearly otaku-bait, you've got crazy chick with knives, crazy loli with shotgun, crazy child with silly hat, ara-ara gun mommy, and blonde CIA traitor. Which, I will admit I enjoyed. The characters aren't well written, but their decently fun which keeps the show's engagement factor high.
The action scenes are good, completely unrealistic of course but that's perfectly okay because the point is to be exciting and fun.
Music is decent too actually and it sets the tone well,…

Ya'll. Seriously. People are out here being like "BLACK LAGOON" meanwhile I'm like BLACKLAGOON WHO!? AMIRITE?
Lemme say. Ok we get it, they are in the same universe, but hot damn is this SO much better. Guns, action and tiddy, what else do you need? Here's a GOOD, CRIME, ACTION, GUN RUNNING anime.
You looking for some uniqueness, that doesn't hinge on anime tropes and the power of friendship? Well, hell yeah my friend, i'll drink to that. JORMUNGAND is that very anime. No super powers, no "s-senpai didn't notice" no "Oh I have to go to high school". NO. This is gritty, violent and downright abusive. CHILD SOLDIER? YEAH THAT AIN'T RIGHT. BUT IT MAKES FOR A GOOD STORY, THAT'S FOR TRUE.
Story?
10/10. Arms dealer with a badass crew who just so happens to pick up a child a…

Welp, 2021 and I decided to check out this anime called Jormungand. I saw an amv of the action and people hype up the chicks in the show so I decided to watch it all. Boy, what a letdown.
Story: 4/10
Man, Fuck the story. JK. Honestly, story was just meh. Like, every 2 episodes was like its own story which was cool. But, the pacing felt fast. Not that so much was happening but that, transitions didn't really leave time to leave an impression on the viewer. Sometimes, some scene would happen and it would quickly hop to some other scene without waiting a good few seconds to let that scene build the suspense. The story is just introducing characters and the struggles arm dealers have to endure. I just wasn't interested in the story that much because the bad guys were barely relevant or did a…

I like anime with plenty of action, whether it’s about guns, explosions, and close combat, especially modern ones. That’s why I was eager to try out Jormungand. Sadly, I ended up mostly disappointed. I really tried liking it, but the issues became bigger and more numerous with each episode. I don’t regret watching it, but I don’t think I’ll do it again. The show had a good idea, but the execution was terrible because of bad story, pacing, boring characters, lack of character growth and arcs, and a bad ending.
Story & setting
The story focuses on Koko Hekmatyar and her group of mercenaries travelling around the world illegally selling weapons and military equipment. It’s a dangerous business where you must keep a close eye on everyone, where allies and customers can quickly become enemies…

I loved the anime, but the art, I just find it kinda ugly honestly.
The story is a MASTERPIECE.
If you like the main character to be some kind of psycho, not good for nothing girl who can't do anything by herself or some really kind and helping guy/girl - this is for you!
They are all capable of doing things and they aren't boring characters who just cry over ''someone told me I'm a loser'' and similar.
It is all about weapons, strategies and similar, so do not expect love stories, history or mythology.
If you wanna watch a uniquely interesting, but the ugly character design, story, I recommend this one!
I am really sorry, but the design is hideous and the story is a MASTERPIECE.
The art of the battels and firefights is great.
You can even learn something here and there about weapon…

I'm usually pretty lenient with anime that I can turn my brain off to, but this series takes the cake for being worse that painfully mediocre. This has been on my plan to watch list for ages because this looked/seemed interesting. Let's just say I've never been so baffled by a series with a semi-decent rating be so bad.
Art/Animation/Visuals (1/10):
This was comically bad at times. There have been plenty of reviews shitting on the gun play and how it's not right. That aside, characters designs are average at best. Animation is lazy 80% of the time which is painfully bad for a show like this where action and fights should be the highlight.
Plot (2/10):
What plot? I'm okay with one-shot types series where each episode is not linear to the next, but holy shit. I doubt there was a single m…

Most of the Anime's today want to portray world as a better place ,in comes this series. Short lived idk why, because it's awesome. The Show is Dark, when i say dark i don't mean normal civilian dark humor dark, i mean Darker than inside of a black hole. sometimes i felt this should be a movie instead.
The story is grounded in reality and it's interesting to say at least. It's one of it's kind for sure, Sort of "Lord of war + war dogs" but if they were more realistic. It tries to be less gruesome than the actual stuff would be but it think that's for the best. So if you're coming in watching this for the sake of a reference , it's not a walk in the park , you are gonna be presented with the reality that there is no black and white , there is no good and evil, there exists a Grey area in t…

Jormungand is an attempt to create a new Black Lagoon but just from the pilot episode you get a more than lazy shot at it. The exposition is stupid, the dialogues are stupid, and the characters are… well, you know. Not that Black Lagoon was exactly an intelligent show (it was just throwing in a few poor monologues around the cruel way the world works) but at least it had great production values and slightly better dialogues to have more fun with. This on the other hand is making you think it was written by a very angry kid who likes to play cops and robbers. Not that it was their fault entirely if the source material, the manga, was dumb to begin with.
Animated by studio White Fox, which is very new to the field; only 4 titles so far. They don’t have a huge budget to do miracles but they…

I honestly don't have too much to say about Jormungand. It's a de facto dumb fun show to me. It's certainly not realistic, so firearm snobs; don't get your hopes up.
The story, while fun, leaves a lot to be desired. What we're shown is the journey, and definitely not the destination. Jormungand does do the whole "fictional #1 mega arms dealer in the world" thing good, though.
The sound and music is just...
oof
The instrumentals in the music are alright for building up tension, but the vocals are repetitive, uncreative, and cringey. They're worse than rhymes children could come up with. The sound itself of things like gunfire are highly unrealistic and you should go in expecting standard video game/movie quality, and not anything substantial.
The characters are... characters. They aren't…

This is... an oddity.
Technicalily it is supposed to be a serious anime about weapon dealers, war, and so on, but for some strange reason most of the time it resmebles a fairly average school trip slice of life comedy. That coudl also be the reason why at one point I dropped it almost for 8 months and only after that manageed to finish it.
Story 5/10:
It is supposed to be serious and it does touch serious subjects and there are people dying, but.... either due to directing or becuase of some reason, it looks like bunch of mercenaris fooling aroudn and having a good time, cracking jokes and so on. Even in serious segments it doesn't feel like there's any danger and so on.
Noir, which I watchedm any years ago, was much better of handlign stuff like this.
Art: 5/10:
Well, characters have…

Story: Mediocre
The story is relatively decent, with a healthy mix of action scenes & light-hearted scenes, but there can be some ridiculously unrealistic stuffs that may fuck your mind. For example, Orchestra, who normally has decent aim, should've been able to kill or at least injure Jonah if he didn't aim like a fucking stormtrooper at that specific moment.

Art: Very Good Nothing much to say here. It's pretty good. Even though there can be some weirdly drawn faces in some frames, it's not that noticeable.
