Just Because!

Just Because!

Introduction

As another school year begins drawing to a close, the third-year high school students move steadily toward the next milestone of their lives: graduation. Among them are Mio Natsume, a girl burdened with lingering feelings; Hazuki Morikawa, a member of the concert band but distant from the others; and Haruto Souma, an athlete obsessed with baseball. Meanwhile, second-year student Ena Komiya seeks to revive the photography club to its former glory, refusing to let the organization be disbanded. Though this group lacks a strong connection with one another, their lives suddenly cross paths with the arrival of a third-year transfer student. While a transfer so close to graduation is unusual for most, it is business as usual for Eita Izumi. Due to his father's work, he has never been able to stay in one place for very long. But as luck would have it, their most recent relocation has returned Eita to his hometown for his final semester of high school. For better or worse, it also sparks the rekindling of old relationships left behind in the past. With graduation already causing its own share of anxieties, Eita's sudden arrival brings these students' carefree days to an abrupt end. Long-forgotten memories, deeply buried emotions, and inspiring new passions—everything is brought to light in their bittersweet final semester. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

'Just Because' was such a great show. Atmospheric story, amazing sound design, and very interesting side characters. The art is okay but fits the story. Initial Rating - 8/10 The WORST PART: the fucking ending sucks. The best girl doesn't win, and there was no fucking development towards the ending we got. BULLSHIT ending New Rating - 6/10 But I don't hate the show itself. The show is great. It just feels like a waste at the end. We were robbed. But the show itself does not deserve this low score. So I guess I have to settle at Final Rating - 7.5/10

The show picks up from an extremely boring, rocky first half to an emotional, but rather sweet story filled with some crazy love triangles. The art is mixed, with some stunning scenes, but then some more rushed ones, too. The art style is quite plain, but that also helps build to the seriousness of the show. The show seems realistic, but maybe a tad bit too much, with little humor and a melancholic monologue type show, it reminds me of Days with My Stepsister. The story wasn't anything new or unique for a romance, with this love polygon going across the friend groups, but it executes most parts of it well. The first half tries to delve into the complicatedness of the story without making us care about the characters, and it really didn't give them personality at all. The show could have be…

Just Because! utilizes the unique feeling of growth and the fear of the uncertain to create an atmosphere that feels like a physical heartbreak. Firstly, the music in all parts of the series is beautifully executed. The opening, ending and soundtrack all hit the mark in fitting the emotional tones of the story presented. It makes the experience that much better and evokes an almost nostalgic feeling from the way it's done. Most impressively however, is that the show is slow but not boring and quiet but not muted. The pacing and use of visuals are done with the intent of providing space not just for the viewers but also the characters. Their interests may not align and the trajectories they trend towards could be the complete opposite, so if they want to remain as close-knit as they were,…

Just Because was one of the romances of last season I was most looking forward to. One of the reasons being that it strived to depict life for high school students during that interim period between college exams and graduation. Mixed with the problems of adolescent romance, it looked as though this could be a series that accomplished something different. I think we have far too many school romances that focus on the whole of high school life or the middle of it. They may depict college exams and graduation, but they don’t start their story there. This turbulent time adds to the drama and adds to the stress the characters are feeling as well as giving a sense of limbo to their relationships. Even with the problems surrounding this series production, I did find myself enjoying the ride thro…

REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT LIKE TROPES Just Because! is an average, uninspiring romance anime. The characters are not very notable, especially the main character who has the personality of a cardboard box. The plot is extremely predictable and does not scratch into depth at all especially when it comes to conflict with the characters. This is not to say the anime is bad, one of the highlights are that the characters are believable/more grounded in realism than most. A major complaint that is stated surrounding the anime is that the characters are beating around the bush or too shy to say what they feel. But from a personal standpoint, it feels closer to real life, especially in teen/high school years when it is sometimes hard to tell people around you how you feel or what you mean…

The anime was "alright". I really enjoyed the art and the OST. Those two things made me appreciate the anime. OST AND SFX were the best qualities of the anime (7/10). The Scenery shots were always amazing to me. It felt as if we were watching the characters' lives unfold right in front of us at times (to me anyway). The anime can get a bit "stale" for some moments. You get a feeling almost as if you are "longing for something to happen". Its a slow start, with a great middle piece, and an "ok" ending. The characters weren't the best, but just fine (5-6 out of 10). In the end, I felt bad for Komiya she was one of the best characters in the show but met a terrible fate for her character.

Life is not fair, maybe that's one of the points this Anime will show you. More over it's saying "Nothing ever goes as planned" Just Because is surprisingly near to the normal life we all experience every day with a lot of failures, misunderstandings and missed opportunities. It also have a good Charakterdevelopment, some more of it and some less and that's totally fine because why should a well Build Eita evolve the same way as his Junior kohai. In my opinion the end is a bit fast coming and should have been built with a 13. Episode but it's like life and the Show, not a wishing well. You will enjoy this show for his realness, the natural emotions and relatable characters. I like the artwork too, it's suits the setting very well.

There were so many things this anime did so well, but still had a pretty generic and "safe" ending. At first I was impressed how they didn't use clichés or tropes to advance the story, but gradually they used some towards the end which is a shame too. The slowly unfolding love polygon was pretty well done, it wasn't annoying or awkward, it had the perfect amount of uncertainity and excitement you expect from a romance drama. In the second half of the anime it boiled down to a love triangle which was not as perfect. Natsune having a change of heart, almost randomly, her feelings are just unexplored. Not like the other characters' feelings are more detailed or voiced, but at least their feelings were either known or gradual. Looking past that every character felt genuine and their feelings…

The way this anime is, it should be all of the genre, simple, direct, beautiful animation, relaxing soundtrack, realistic characters and above all, real-life problems and real-life emotions, it is a spectacular slice of life, never seen in anime characters so close to reality, they are not stereotypes, they do not have exaggerated standards, they are just young people sharing moments of their youth, facing both romantic emotions and uncertainty about their future, the construction of their relationships seemed great to me, they simply shared their casual days high school without any exaggeration, that made me feel very connected to the characters, since it was a very casual and typical environment, like the beauty of simplicity and I loved that. In conclusion, a very beautiful anime, easy…

This is the first time I'll write a review because I think it deserves more love. First of this anime really capture something beautiful, there is a lot of feelings involved both sadness and happy moments. Great art style with good music matching the scenes. It might be short but it doesn't have to be longer even though I wish it was. I'd say this is what a Slice of Life/Drama/Romance series should be like. There are interested characters and you'll want to root for every main characters happiness. I can see why people have different opinions about it, but from my perspective it's really a masterpiece.

I watched Just Because. Here are my thoughts: Overall this anime has an unmistakably amateurish and low-budget feel to it. Despite its flaws though, this story plucks at my heartstrings. In a lot of ways, Just Because is a fairly standard-fare highschool romance story. However, I found that the character dynamics and interactions feel very real. The story genuinely feels like something that could happen in real life. The writing is very down to earth and involves ordinary people and ordinary events. It feels very organic and wholesome. The story in this feels like soil between my fingers – it is so authentic, lifelike and down to earth. I found Just Because very immersive because it felt like a genuine depiction of real life. This is not something that can be said for most anime, romance…

I started watching this anime expecting it to try to make me cry by the end (i.e a story of drama), ended up surprised, but not disappointed. It is basically one of those rather "chill anime" that aren't filled with constant chain of various eventful actions, but still manage to keep you intrigued and look forward to what's going happen next. That being said, it's not filled with those random events (if you've watched plenty of anime by now, you know what I mean), it's not overly dramatized, instead, it has a consistent - but not predictable - flow of events, like a brook, with proper development of characters and feelings that makes you feel involved and immersed. Just Cause is a well-rounded, balanced romance anime. It doesn't feel perfect, but it does leave you fulfilled and you will w…

This review is purely from an anime only watcher's viewpoint. First, I'm going to say that I mostly rate anime based on the enjoyment value, and everything else comes far in the second place. Slow, moody, and dialogue heavy shows like these are not usually my thing, and because of that I judge them harshly. If you have a more of a critical/analytical eye to entertainment, take everything I say with a grain of salt. If I described this anime in one color, it would be "gray". In addition to the art's murky color scheme and the overall somber mood of the anime itself, the characters just feel lifeless and dull, especially Izumi. Everyone feels like they are constantly depressed, uninterested, and they have a lack of enthusiasm for anything. There are no bright colors, or anything that pops…

Senior year of high school is like a train station. Pick a train to decide your future. You can't say for sure what lies at your destination, but you know for certain it will take you away from your school and the friends you made there. This is the theme that Just Because puts forward with its story of seniors deciding their futures and many train station scenes. However, it does not have the intimacy necessary for these themes to be believable. Slice of life shows live or die on how intimate they are. And no, I do not mean romance. I mean the show's connection to the audience. Without that crucial connection, you might as well be watching bugs run around for all it matters. A lack of intimacy is what prevents Just Because from being engaging. I have no doubt that the show has subtle c…

Ah, the time of high school. Good memories, futures being decided, new opportunities, and blooming relationships. Many different things happen during this period of our lives, and Just Because! explores the last leg of high school in it's mundane, yet compelling storytelling. Just Because! explores Eita Izumi and a group of classmates in their final semester of high school. The story slowly progresses through their interactions with different people and the world around them. The first few episodes set up the group and their new bonds with each other. As the story progresses, the relationships between the middle school friends (Eita, Mio, Haruto) create an interesting dynamic that pulls viewers in. Just Because! lets us explore the story through the different characters and their persona…

I have to rate this as well as I do, simply because I enjoy the story. It's accurate just to how high school kids are, situations their in and how messy love can be. I have a lot of complaints, all that contribute on the whole but don't detract from the story as its conducted. Things I don't care for: The ending is a bit wonky and while I got what I wanted, it seems less satisfactory in how it was handled. Animation seemed slow enough sometimes that it wasn't as if the characters were quite caught up to the scene they were in. As I mention in so many of my reviews are that visuals are a big deal to me and this has a gross amount of inconsistencies. The entire show takes place in cold weather, but things in the background are totally out of place. Despite the cold, there are well leave…

Rating: 7.7/10 This anime broke me. But no, not in the way that you might think. After all, Silent Voice broke me. Little Busters broke me. Your Lie in April broke me. But in this case, I was left completely broken in feelings of disappointment, confusion, yet joy? Sounds pretty dramatic right? That may be so, but what I truly felt was that a potential masterpiece with such a well set up atmosphere was ruined in just a few episodes. Let's begin with the introduction to the main story. The first 2 minutes or so beautifully introduced the setting and each individual character by piecing together related scenes alongside the perfect instrumental music. What follows from there is your average high school life which manages to realistically capture the very essence of adolescence - even very…

(very minor spoilers) Just Because! is one of those anime that you think is going to leave you sad or thinking about life. But unfortunately, it falls short of that by a small margin. It has all of the ingredients for a perfect drama but fails to deliver in a lot of aspects. However, for what it's worth, the show was fairly interesting in some parts and the characters were somewhat compelling. To get some of the less important complaints and compliments out of the way, I thought the artstyle looked pretty good. All of the characters were as distinct as their personalities and the scenery looked all right too. One minor nitpick is Eita's face; there's just something about the nose or the general structure that looks different from all of the other characters and makes him stand out like a…

Just Because! is a refreshing romance, slice-of-life anime that depicts a somber high school student reunited with his middle school classmates. In an anime landscape dominated by ecchi harems and fanservice tropes where the main character is wanted by every female character, Just Because! stands on its own two feet with interesting characters and relationships and 0 fanservice. The cast of characters are also greatly enhanced by their voice actors who lend a diverse set of voices to the mix. Overall, I would recommend Just Because! to anyone looking for a more serious, realistic, and grounded romance anime. FYI: the two idiots that rated this a 4/10 have Kanojo mo Kanojo rated as a 9/10 and like manga such as Uzaki-chan. LOL!

This anime is a romance anime that has a light story and drama. Honestly, I watched this anime because I missed the school atmosphere. For the animation quality, I don't think there's anything special. For the opening and ending songs in this anime, I think it's quite pleasant to listen to and I've never missed the opening and ending songs. Watching the first episode of this anime made me a little bored. But in the future this anime is getting more exciting and I'm more and more interested in seeing the ending of this anime. But I'm a little disappointed because I think the ending of this anime is very predictable so I don't feel entertained. I think the ending in this anime can be made more unexpected and more surprising. But overall this anime is still worth watching and I recommend this…
