Fena: Pirate Princess

Fena: Pirate Princess

Introduction

A decade ago, a tragic shipwreck separated Fena Houtman from her childhood friend Yukimaru and took her father's life. Now, at age 23, she is trapped on an island and is doomed to spend the rest of her life selling herself to men. On the night she is to be forcibly wed to a client, Fena hatches a plan to escape from her employers, but two old acquaintances unexpectedly intervene and help her run away. The three make haste for the open sea and land upon Goblin Island—a mysterious place that a clan of fierce warriors call home. It is there that Fena learns that her father's ill-fated final journey at sea was in search of a place called "Eden," the location of something important that he had to protect. With nothing but a clear crystal as a clue, Fena is tasked with finding this place, as she is the only person who can do so. While still contemplating the search for what her father left behind, Fena reunites with Yukimaru, who encourages her to take up the quest. Now the captain of a seven-person crew, Fena must navigate the high seas in search of Eden. But as uncanny groups begin to target her, the perilous journey proves to be even more challenging than it previously seemed. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This anime is still slow, but once it gets going it’s good and has a great ending highly recommend just push through the slow pacing two years after watching it, I still think about the ending very thought-provoking honestly the best anime original anime I watched male mc English voice actor was kind ass, that in the pacing, one thing I don’t like, though it keeps acting like we know the villain, and then at the end it tells us about him, but throughout the whole show act like we knew why he was doing everything I feel like they should’ve sprinkled it throughout the middle of the show instead of giving it to like the last three episode but besides that I like it

A different idea with a beautiful visual style, but it simply didn't captivate me. That's the best way to describe my experience with Kaizoku Oujo. And the most frustrating thing is that the work clearly had potential, both in its premise and technical skill, but it failed to transform that into something truly engaging. Starting with its strongest point: the animation. Here, there's not much to criticize. The quality is excellent, with beautiful character designs, well-defined lines, and art direction that really stands out. The settings are well-crafted, the colors help bring the world to life, and the fluidity of the animation contributes to a very pleasant visual experience. It's easy to be charmed by the aesthetics from the very first episodes. In this aspect, the work fulfills its…

Kaizoku Oujo turned out to be more enjoyable than I expected. Even though the plot holes are everywhere and the character development is really thin, it’s still pretty solid for a short adventure anime. The sense of adventure is definitely there — the journey, the mystery, and the crew dynamics make it fun to follow. At first, I was skeptical and worried the ending would be a cliffhanger that forces you to wait for a season 2 that might never come. But the ending was actually neat and acceptable, even if some parts felt a bit rushed. The characters aren’t explored much, but since the pacing is fast and the story focuses more on the treasure-hunt plot, it’s pretty understandable. Overall, it’s not a perfect anime, but as a short, light, adventure-themed show with good visuals, Kaizoku Ouj…

What a terrible story full of platitudes. You have the choice: should this world be destroyed, or should it continue to exist? The fate of your mercenaries is predictable; they will all die, but you can change that by making them “holy” so that they drift indefinitely on this strange phantom ark between this world and the next, accepting only the purest souls so that the world can be reborn. The whole story is just very emotional without pursuing any particular goal. Just the contradiction between virginity and the descendants of your bloodline. Surprise, surprise, when you bring children into the world, you are no longer a virgin... I could puke.

This anime is beautiful in its own way. The title mentioning 'Pirate' set certain expectations, then the story itself develops into something much more meaningful and layered than a typical pirate tale. However this anime is not focused on the mystery of the world or specifically tell the story of each island they go to. But it's just a season with 12 eps telling who is Fena. Watching this turn the fairy tale vibes on. Story - 7/10 Fena's journey from wanting to escape an island that would trap her to embracing her destiny as a pirate is compelling. She's innocent yet brave, cheerful yet determined, and genuinely both inside and out. As an anime with just 12 eps, it delivers a complete story within its constraints, tho I found myself wanting more of the adventure aspects :D Themes - 10/…

Fena: Pirate Princess is bad. Most importantly, Fena is not a pirate, and only tenuously a princess. I say tenuously because most things in the show are paper-thin, including any attempts at providing Fena a meaningful backstory. Halfway through the show, the characters' camaraderie is as if it were a 24-episode affair, but the moment-to-moment pace makes it feel like it was storyboarded for a 6-episode OVA. The animation has a lot of effort put into it, but is incredibly sterile. The 3-minute long denouement was good, but slogging through the other 285 minutes wasn't worth it. I do Not Recommend.

When this first came out I was extremely excited for it. Saw a couple screen shots and watched a little of the trailers. The title alone sold also sold me a bit. I had shelved it for a bit as I finished other shows I was watching at the because I wanted give this one my full attention, then I started it. Man was I blown away with the action animation being put on the table though that was not the only thing. The mystery story hooked me in quickly, the show blends a little bit of pirates vs ninjas/samurai which in theory sounds cool and was at first executed well. The princess was my favorite character throughout the show, she was level head and had funny jokes along with the rest of the cast. The villains at first were great and sexy too, their decision making and aura were awesome. But as…

Simply put - I love it! Thanks for rea... well, maybe I should explain a bit. If you're thinking about watching this Anime or not, at first you should know what to expect, since reading some of the negative reviews, I get the feeling that some guys didn't knew (I kinda blame the commercial since it sets the wrong expectations imo). However, Kaizoku Oujo is a hidden gem, an adventure Anime you see rarely nowadays and kinda feels like an early 2000's series or a ghibli movie like Castle in the Sky. Also, it's rare to have a 12 episode Anime with a complete story. Fena, the female protagonist, has to face a typical Heroe's Journey with travels, adventures and dangers. She gets supported by a group of talented fighters while one of them is her childhood friend and gets also hunted by a group…

Starting from episode 4 it was satisfactory but when it got to episode 5 there big wtf moments that made no sense. they were a complete contradiction and I'm pretty sure this is anime with identity politics at play. starting from their then anime become more dumbfound very disappointed. what ruined it was no capacity to learn from their mistakes. the characters were the worst part of the show. the all-female mercenary was the worst about and the main protagonist was also terrible she had no whatsoever care for her life and no consideration for others after only they got hurt. how do you not gt notice that your bing followed . expected more awareness and its really surprised they caught so fast.

This show started out really really well, thought it'd be a two season or beyond type deal but it came crashing down pretty fast towards the end - seemed like a very rushed and nonsensical ending. Emotive, great voice acting, soundtrack, art, character design, setting, story seemed like it was going somewhere, big shame it ended the way it did - had lots of interesting characters that could've been expanded upon to extend the story. For what it is I think it may be worth a watch if the trailer interests you, as 12 episodes isn't a killer marathon, and the first half or so is very interesting, but please don't go into it with high expectations - I got my hopes up after three or so episodes and was sorely disappointed.

You know the "three episode rule"? This show was a clear 10/10 at that point. Hell, I didn't even need three episodes, just a single scene from episode 1 of our goofy princess's "escape plans" or even a single frame of her angry expression was enough to win me over. It would have been a great show it it was actually about that goofy princess, or about travel and adventures, or about pirates vs. ninjas, or solving a legendary mystery, or any of the things the start of the show leads you to believe it is about. Instead, all those things turn out to be irrelevant, obviated by an absurd nonsense ending. It's impossible to explain or justify my disappointment with it without spoiling it, so I will just stop here. I guess different people can handle that to different extents - just like willi…

This was certainly one of the best anime with a romance and adventure theme that I've ever had the opportunity to watch! At first I didn't care for anything, but as the work progressed I became very attached and enchanted by the characters, the two protagonists are sensational and even the antagonist had her perfect ending! The art is beautiful, that whole universe was beautiful, the mix of stories, stories, it had everything! The soundtrack was certainly one of the best I've ever heard and was one of the main reasons for me to burst into tears in those last two episodes, the dubbing was incredible and fascinating, I don't have any negative points to mention, only positive ones! If you haven't watched it yet or are afraid to watch it, you might as well fall in love!! 1000000/10.

Great anime with good character setting Plotline is good as only few animes try this road As you would expect from a orignal the ending is sad I think Story progress was the only flaw because The anime started with introducing the villain female pirate, Shin and many others you would think that the battle will be 3 arcs or so for but their ends were far too disappointing. From what I could think of as the reason for this is that they thought they could give the series a 24/26 episode cour but due to some unforeseen circumstances had to cut down the episodes because despite the abrupt endings of villains, the 12th episode seemed like the final episode for the series with no hope for season 2 The story setting did have enough room to cover a full 24ep cour Characters of goblin slayer a…

Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why? TLDR; Do not let them cook Is the story unique? Fena is a unique series in a bad way Unpredictably bad because of the how the story unfolds It felt like watching a train suddenly come across a broken bridge The pacing of the anime is questionable and more episodes might have helped Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? The art style has very vibrant colours that help tell the story but not merit enough to be worth watching the show for Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid? Most characters did not get enough development / screen-time It would have been more interesting and entertaining to see more dialogue between character…

Fena is the name of the female protagonist. Orphaned at a young age and working in a brothel as a servant is the setting that she has found herself in. However, all that changes when a mysterious stranger or strangers 🤔 saves her and reveals to her the truth about her family and a secret that only she can unlock. Review: This anime is a underrated gem. From the animation quality, the cinematography, the music and the plot, it is surely an anime to watch. Let's begin with the characters, Fena, she is 23 years of age which is such a relief considering how plenty female protagonists always seem to be minors which is such a ick personally. Fena is funny, brave, a bit odd but that's what I find intriguing about her. The support characters in this anime play a essential role in how the story…

JUST FINISHED THIS ANIME and let me just say I really wish I could rate this anime a 10/10. I can't because as much as I loved nearly every aspect of it, the ending was TOO MUCH, too fantastical for the very little time they had and considering the things they had already established. If the series had 24 episodes and they were able to flesh out certain characters and plot holes and especially the last 4 episodes a bit more, I would have easily given this a 10/10. I am a very simple person and am a sucker for pretty things so I will say that this anime is so visually pleasing. I don't even know when the last time I watched something so stunning was. I am also a very musical person so I thought the OST was beautiful and it really elevated the animation and just the vibes of the show. It is…

For something that had a unique and interesting premise, this severely did not deliver. Fena was a princess...a witch...a prostitute...a maiden... a pirate...pretty much anything you can think of, she was. Not only was this confusing for the audience, it was confusing for Fena. In one episode, she explained that she had all these coined names given to her, but despite that, she didn't know who she really was. And dejectedly, the ending didn't answer that for us. As a protagonist, because she was unaware of her own purpose in the world, she often relied on others to get where she needed to go. Even when she had moments of "clarity," if you will, when she no longer doubted her choices, it seemed as though it was not really Fena making the decision, but rather an entity possessing/guiding…

A promising pirate tale made laughable by contrived storytelling and convoluted fantasy elements. Fena: Pirate Princess is a somewhat misleading title. Fena is a princess, but not a pirate. There’s more emphasis on romance and drama than swashbuckling sword fights or buried treasure. Imagine if Princess Peach went on a globetrotting adventure—a damsel to constantly get kidnapped by one-dimensional villains and a MacGuffin to steer the plot. Except, Fena lacks the charm of your imagination. Her ditzy and energetic personality loses charm quickly; Especially because she’s intentionally annoying. A running gag is that she talks too much, which never becomes funny. The swaths of men who vie for her affection, or to simply spend a night with her, do so because she is irresistibly attractive (s…

Judging by the date of the first episode released and the date of this video, and the fact that Marco didn't even continue to talk about this anime, I draw my conclusion: this anime is really bad lol The promise of the first episode for what happens at the end is even a joke: well done art, ok music, interesting characters but it doesn't have the main thing: story. We are simply thrown a lot of random things from episode 6 onwards, and the impression is that there was no villain at the end and the author just used too much opium when putting together the story and they decided to make this carrion. I do not recommend. Ahhh, and no one catches anyone in the end, see... lol

I love the balance of the 18th century elements mixed with fantasy. I always enjoy a series that can balance historical places and events into its story. All the characters are well designed and feel genuine, but lack a certain depth. It introduces characters with plot lines that are never resolved or very clear. In terms of character development, I felt there was very little and the emotions and intent behind each character’s actions did not seem believable or was hard to follow. Fena herself is a very one-dimensional character; she does very little for herself and is always in need of rescue. Hopefully, you can see beyond her being the “damsel in distress”. There were many great concepts and ideas put into this series but lacked focus to use them effectively and missed some great oppo…
