This anime is both sweet and bittersweet at the same time. It reminds you how fast time flies and how important it is to keep moving forward, because in the end it’s all worth it.
I started watching it out of simple curiosity, but I truly ended up loving it. The art and the music are absolutely perfect.
The story feels truly unique, wrapped in a gentle, almost lo-fi atmosphere that blends seamlessly with its soft art style. Together, they create a world that feels quietly alive and emotionally rich. The characters are written with such depth and sincerity that their experiences resonate deeply, making the entire journey feel like something any of us could have lived.

Such a random watch on my part, but I really love this so much. Daru and Miyu's relationship is adorable to watch here as Miyu lives a life that isn't the best for her, and Daru ponders curiously over Miyu and her actions. The animation is simplistic, and I think it really fits the story. A simple story at its core. The soundtrack made my heart swell for certain scenes. While this is a shorter watch, I loved every second of it! If you're into the simple parts of life or a slice of life enthusiast like myself, it will feel like home right away

I guess the studio and producers woke up one day and agreed to follow the most traditional and masterpiece-guaranteed recipe. Beautiful and simplistic art with vibrant warm colours along with nice serene melodies playing almost the whole time. The cat, Daru, giving some plain but sophisticated monologues, frequently matching the thoughts of humans for human situations, since he is elderly. Despite Daru's deep voice, the serenity in the show remained well-balanced while making the viewer think deeper of the relationship between the girl and her cat.
My only objection is that it was really short but I can't really accept my complaining for short anime being short (but only for big anime being big).
A must watch anime, especially for introducing the culture to new crowd. Simple without riskin…

She and Her Cat is perhaps the most efficiently emotional anime I've seen yet, constructing in under half an hour such potent emotional weight that many anime struggle to cultivate at all, let alone in such a vanishingly brief amount of time. The relationship between Miyu and Daru, who cannot even communicate with each other through words, feels raw and realistic, and glimpses the innermost feelings that come with having that soul bond with a special pet in your life. There's this uniquely familial connection there, and this anime really seems to understand that. Indeed, the story on display here is simple and powerful, and directly communicates these feelings which are so hard to put into words in the first place. It is for this profound encapsulation of connection that the story is the s…

Are you a cat person? No? Then get the fuck out of here. NOW!
Now that we have the losers out of the way, I really can't recommend this highly enough. These are only (4) 7 minute episodes, but they pack more story and emotion than series that are hundreds of episodes long.
The artwork is soft and comforting. Good backgrounds and the animation shows some love was put into this. Lots better than I anticipated.
The characters are very simple. A girl and her cat. Her mom and her roomie. There's not enough time to develop them greatly, but by the end, especially if you've ever owned a cat for a long time, you'll recognize them all.
The narrative, too, is simple. Basically it is "What is it like to have a cat own you?" I could so relate it nearly brought tears to my eyes. And any media al…

This anime's genre pets and slice of life:
Yes, it' s totally stand up for what it says. The animation is also good.
The story lining is great too. For 4 episodes with 7 min duration it's a great anime.
This anime is also about independence and our childhood wish to live with our love ones forever/ longer... Fear of losing them. It's nice.
So, If you want a heartwarming anime that will make u teary eyes this is for you. I liked it😌
This anime is not just about cat POV (point of view) but also about a normal persons life story that lot of people face. This anime with just 28 min total is about a persons growth and how pets are to us😊❤️.
Like come on guys it's only 28 min.
And yeah, I cried and i had to pause the video to wipe my tears off so tht i could read the subtitles🥲😂.

I definitely recommend reading the manga instead of watching the anime. The latter deals with its themes very superficially. Also, it changes a lot of things for the worse, because these changes take away depth and make it an average anime. The drawing is much better in the manga as well.
While the manga is not a masterpiece, it set out many interesting and sensitive issues, which the anime simply trivializes. Even the relationship between the girl and her cat is different.
I watched ‘Blue Period’ after watching ‘She and Her Cat’, and I was pleasantly surprised to know that both mangas are by the same author.

Definitivamente recomiendo mucho más leer el manga. El anime trata sus temas de forma muy superficial. Además, cambia un montón de cosas para mal, por…

"A Small Review, A Grand Play"
"Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko" is a example of the importance of short films.
In less than 30 minutes, it tells a story of growing up and the struggles it brings along the way, shows the peaceful side in death and the beautiful side of life, it's a type of narrative a full season show can't deliver, for not being tie-in on character development, tramas or dramas, it focus on the message and the better way to express it. It's poetic and romantic, full of meaning in every second.
Next time you don't have something to watch, give a chance for works like this, some 30 minutes can fufill what you need.

Shinkai's concept doesn't exactly do any favors for Everything Flows, a mini-series chronicling a young girl, her cat, and their quiet lifestyle. The downside to slice-of-life shorts is the base material often being too insignificant to confidently strike a sense of feel-good familiarity or leave a memorable impression. This is no exception, even if the broad scope of the interactions is perfectly inoffensive. Miyu struggles to establish her resolve for independence, feeling alienated from obligations and personal desires. Her cat (Daru) narrates as much as he can see without actually understanding, and the parallels between both perspectives sum up the entire premise. It's frankly a lot less clever than it sounds, but the alternating episodic motifs are simple yet functional. Daru's monol…

This mini series is both sweet and sad. It follows the life story of a cat and the girl who he loves, as they both grow into adult: their lives parallel and growing over time. It has a very slow pace and allows you to be entranced and enmeshed into the tiny details. This slow pace is critical for such a short series as it allows the watcher to feel like it is much longer than it really is.
On the border of shojo and Josei, this series is sweet but also has a lot of depth to offer if you are looking for it. In such a short time the story draws you in and captures you with its innocence. Although a series of this nature is not my personal favorite, it is very well done and I enjoyed watching it.

Overall: 5/10
It's okay. If you want a relatively easygoing slice-of-life anime that focuses on a cat, you might enjoy this.
Unlike the 2002 version, this version is a bit more grounded in reality. There is still an element of poetry to the narration, but it doesn't feel like it's lost in abstraction. It also has colour and feels less depressing, despite generally covering the same themes. They also introduce some side characters; we now get to see the cat owner's friend and mother.
Despite all this though, I can't say that there's a whole lot going on here. We see the cat owner struggle as she transitions from college into the workforce, and we also see how the cat is with her throughout this period. We also get to see a bit of the backstory as to how the two met. But that's kind of it…

Usually I don't have a problem with subs, but I have to warn you, it is easy to miss out on a lot if you insist on not watching the dubbed version.
I couldn't tell who was talking sometimes and they do not repeat themselves. The cat in particular has a quiet delivery and likes to practice his poetry, so I found myself zoning out a lot and having to rewind, which ironically ruined the flow. And I probably didn't pay enough attention to the visuals either.
The art is good but not flashy, sensitive topics are handled very tastefully, the story is simple and sweet, and the characters are really well done. I'm rating this very nicely because this would have been an amazing experience if I had known that the show would have been much better dubbed.

*SPOILER WARNING*
This short anime was just a roller coaster of emotions. This anime makes you feel so sad and it shows the reality of this world. One particular scene which really got to me was when Daru's mother and siblings were all killed by the bird and he' left all alone. It was a really neat addition adding Daru's thoughts into the anime. Another scene which got me was when Daru said that he's going for a long sleep.
Overall, this was a short but sweet anime and you should definitely watch it, it's not even a super long anime.

So beautiful, this story is deeper than it seems. I think everyone should watch it at least once in their life. It’s so wonderfully put and made, I can’t even describe it. Just watch it! (only if you’re a person who enjoys calm, slow paced movies, if you’re only into action then ah you won’t like it probably.) If you’re a cat lover, this will make you love them even more, as in you’ll see the story from the cats point of view and voice, you’re in his thoughts and see what he feels about his owner and everything, it’s really short too so I hope you’ll enjoy this as much as I do.

Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko.
If you're looking for a short but sweet anime, this is it. I love the idea of watching something from the perspective of an animal. This is perfect to remind people to love their pets and not to forget/ take them for granted. To them we are everything in the world, yet to us they are simply a pet.
But they are so much more than that. The short period of time they are in our lives can leave a permeant mark on our hearts.
This is so far one of the best anime I've watched so far. 10/10

She and Her Cat: Everything Flows is a short four-episode story about a cat named Daru and his owner, "Kanojo," also known as Miyu, as they spend almost all of their life together.
This short series was loosely based on one of Makoto Shinkai's earliest works: a short OVA episode called She and Her Cat: Their Standing Points. The story is told from Daru's perspective, as he watches "Kanojo" live her days in their formerly shared apartment. While its overall runtime is short, this simple story is enough to draw the interest of both fans of Makoto Shinkai's works and fans who want to watch a short series worth watching.
As for its visuals and music, it's rather simple and sweet, but in actuality, it flows rather well with this emotional-driven story, especially in the final episode.

The Episodes are only about 7 minutes each and I found that you could *almost* skip episode 1. But as you head right into episode 2, it hits hard and is absolutely worth the 30 minutes out of your day for the short series.
The Visuals weren't over the top, nor were they poorly done. I think they were in a perfect place to give you the full effect of emotions and represent what the publishers of Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows wanted you to see.
There isn't a lot of music but i did love the music that there was. Wish I could give it a 6.5, P.S remember to love your cat the way they love you :D

Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows is a very simple and cute story from the perspective of Daru, a cat. He watches his owner, Miyu, go through struggles of trying to live alone and find a job. It is a very short anime that managed to bring me to tears at the end.
Story: 8/10
The story was very simplistic, but that is what made it good. The entire story is told through Daru's perspective, but this does not limit the story in any way. It highlights the friendship and love between them, and how they influence each other's lives.
Art: 10/10
The art was very beautiful, lots of colourful scenery and designs for the characters. Very nice and simple OP and ED which leaves an emotional impact.
Sound: 10/10

One of the things that put Makoto Shinkai on the map is a short film he made called She and Her Cat, which is basically about a woman and her cat. A lot of people liked it for its simplicity and could relate to the premise. Years later, the short would be adapted into a much longer manga, and someone else had the idea of expanding on the story in an anime format, called She and Her Cat: Everything Flows. I actually did see this show when it first came out, but during that time, I was hit with severe burnout and couldn't bring myself to watch more than one anime a month. Now that I've finally managed to dig myself out of said burnout, I decided to revisit this one again because Discotek Media announced they licensed it and recently released it on Blu-Ray with an English dub. That was reason…

Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows, or She and Her Cat, is a beautiful tale told from an aged black cat’s perspective on his owner’s life and the world about him. The story is like a snippet from real life, emotional but strikingly realistic. Daru is shown to empathize with his owner’s struggles. Even though he does not understand how she speaks, their thoughts and feelings are intertwined with one another as each of their lives progress.
We watch Miyu’s strife, from her mother’s happiness to her occupation, and Daru stands beside her and brings her comfort in her hour of need. The sheer, unbridled emotion this anime evokes from its viewer, coupled with the gorgeous animation, is unlike anything in the industry today. This anime is human at its core. The life of a cat and its own…
