KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!

Introduction

After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She provides the NEET with two options: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer's dream—a real fantasy world! Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless! Unfortunately, their troubles don't end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun! [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Not Recommended. Three seasons later I’m still laughing at the same four jokes. This is becoming embarrassing. KonoSuba is not sophisticated comedy, and I do not think it is trying to be. Most of its humor is broad, obvious, and built around character traits that become predictable very quickly. Once you understand the party, you usually know what kind of disaster is coming. Somehow, that does not make it less funny to me. That is probably the main reason the show works. It takes very basic comedic ideas and commits to them completely. Aqua is chaos, Megumin is obsession, Darkness is absurdity wrapped in chivalry, and Kazuma is the poor bastard trying to keep the whole thing moving. None of this is especially complicated, but the characters fit together so well that the repetition becomes…

A comedy you didn't expect would work, but played its role and delivered. With that being said, Konosuba was an excellent show. It gave you essentially everything you could want. It was funny, the animation was actually quite awesome, and the cast was extremely dynamic and fleshed out. I don't have many negatives I could apply to this show other than my own personal indifference. This show is an Isekai, but not a typical power fantasy slice-of-life Isekai. Kazuma brings Aqua into this world with him, and from then on, you know exactly what you're getting into. The show is hilarious, and if you're going just off the comedy tag, you will have a blast. All of the characters in Konosuba are extremely funny and all have their little quirks that make them work so well together. One that imme…

I gave KonoSuba a fair chance, watched both seasons, and my conclusion remained exactly the same: this humor is just not for me. I understand the appeal. The entire cast is made of dysfunctional idiots, nobody behaves like a normal human being, and every adventure somehow becomes a complete disaster. That's the joke. I get it. I just don't find it particularly funny. Maybe my problem is that I need to actually like the characters' stupidity to enjoy this kind of comedy, and here I mostly found myself thinking, "please, can we move on now?" And honestly, that's perfectly fine. Comedy is incredibly subjective. A show can have millions of fans, iconic characters, endless memes, and still make absolutely no impact on you. KonoSuba and I simply looked at each other and said: yeah... this isn't…

Its like playing dnd. The entire show is watching 4 loveable idiots do stupid stuff. The show is very hit or miss u either love it or its just ehh and u don't care for it. (u should try it at least to eps 3 when all the main characters r introduced and eps 2 is my fav). The show shines at letting the characters shine. The plot, and designs, are fairly basic which is used to let the main cast shine. The characters are the show nothing else is important. If enjoy the characters u will love the show. The characters are all tropey and theoretically could be described in a sentence or 2. but u wouldn't be able to capture their true character. for example "aqua, one of the main characters, is a narcissist" but that doesn't even come close to describing her. She also is a people pleaser, an alcoh…

If I had to pick one anime party to save my life, Kazuma's group would probably be my last choice. Honestly, I might have better chances trusting the giant frogs that keep eating them. Every single person in this party is somehow amazing at one thing and completely useless at another, which creates the most dysfunctional adventuring team imaginable. They're broke, they argue nonstop, they struggle with the easiest quests, and somehow they still manage to make every situation worse than it started. But that's exactly why I love them. KonoSuba understands something that a lot of isekai anime forget: watching perfect heroes win all the time gets boring. Watching a bunch of complete disasters somehow stumble their way into success is way more entertaining. - STORY: THE GREATEST STORY EVER T…

K O N O S U B A Tired of the same generic isekai tropes? Just watch Konosuba already. If you love pure comedy and want an isekai that actually breaks the mold, this is an absolute must-watch. The story is super unique and it’s so rare to find a show that is this consistently hilarious. I honestly enjoyed every single second of it. The art style might not be the highest budget out there, but it fits the chaotic comedy perfectly. Same goes for the characters, they just fit their world flawlessly and the humor never feels forced or weird. It's just solid, top-tier comedy all around. Pretty much anyone will enjoy this unless it's just a matter of personal taste. Forget the overpowered main characters and serious savior plots. Stop scrolling and go watch it now, you won't regret the laughs…

Konosuba surprised me positively, I went to see it without any expectations and I was impressed with how much I laughed watching it. It's an extremely light show, the character design is simple and the animation is good, the type of comedy is very light and even though some jokes are repeated a lot and they don't become boring as they work well in the context presented. It's good to see comedies like this, there are some jokes that are better appreciated if you have a history with Jrpgs. 7.5 is my grade, but as in MAL I can't give half a grade so it becomes an 8. Konosuba me surpreendeu positivamente, fui ver sem expectativa nenhuma e fiquei impressionado com o quanto eu ri vendo isso. É um show extremamente leve, o design dos personagens é simples e a animação é boa, o tipo de comédia é…

Konosuba is a sort of relaxing comedy isekai. Before anything else, I want to say that I really enjoyed the outro, which sounds like "farm music" if you can imagine that (haha). The 2nd and 3rd seasons regrettably scrapped this outro theme. There are some running gags, like Megumin the fire mage character casting explosion once a day and wreaking total havoc. And the large breasted knight girl who is clearly way too into BDSM. The show is generally a bunch of light-hearted squabbling between the characters in some humorous plot settings. This is very different than a lot of isekai type shows which are about an overpowered main character being overpowered, which is a nice plot point maybe 1 in 20 times or less. Would recommend giving it a watch.

As I grew up my brother would always talk about how much of an “advocate of gender equality” he was and I never really understood where he got that from but I always thought it was funny, little did I know he got it from the show I will be reviewing today which is Konosuba. Konosuba by far is the funniest anime I’ve ever watched by far, as a new anime fan I quickly realized that comedy wasn’t really the sweet spot of anime shows, but Konosuba proved me wrong as it is incredibly funny. The characters genuinely might be the best part of this anime, Kazuma, Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin might be the best main cast of characters I’ve ever seen and they complement each other perfectly. Each character has something special and unique about them and that’s what makes this show so goated. The settin…

An iconic anime of the ISekai genre, and one with a very epithetical and very renounce fictional character, Kazuma Satou. Being dropped in a world after death just like other ISekai protagonists, what is the most outstanding ovational element of this anime which gleams the eyes of those that partake to watch it are that the character dynamics are comedic to such a degree, nearing "absolute cinema" and that is not an insult. Having a triumvirate for sidekicks and companions, our protagonist, Kazuma Satou embarks on many journeys to satiate to know about the world he dropped into, solving many issues. That is not just all, he is the face of protagonists who stands againsts what he considered to be fellacious suggestions which is the main driver behind the Cinematic appeal which is humour. A…

Holy fanservice Batman!! Ok, yes, this is an Isekai, so I did expect some fanservice as its apparently required in all Isekai... But I didn't expect the jiggle physics from Dead or Alive to make a cameo! Holy shmoly that was a lot... If you're not a fan of fanservice, be wary. But honestly, don't let that completely take away from the show itself!! Near enough every character (except one that I personally feel should be left in a ditch with her self-righteous ass) is fleshed out, fun to watch and mesh well together! And the story ain't half bad (even if I did scream at Kazuma for two episodes for being a bit too slow with realising something, but I won't say what for spoiler purposes). Genuinely an incredibly fun watch, just need to look past the jiggles and such. Except for Aqua. Please…

An actual comedy, not just "anime funny". 9/10 TL:DR; The first few episodes have A LOT of screaming (why it's a 9 instead of 10 honestly) - get past that and you're in for a treat. I would describe this as the degenerate Looney Toons world of anime. Jokes have depth, characters grow, and there is a bigger cast than most mainline anime, AND they actually have a role in the story and are reused for future bits. Full Review: Let's get this out of the way now - those complaining that this is too fan-servicey have clearly not watched anime enough. For being flagged as a harem, it is definitely on the tame side. There's no creepy degin subtext about him wanting to be with his sister or having slave girls. This is wholesome, dumb fun, and I insist you challenge me on that. Now onto the meat…

Konosuba is first and foremost a comedy above all else, and it does what it sets out to do quite well! You're in for a very lighthearted and goofy experience, and whether you're looking for something to binge watch, just putting something on while you eat lunch, or tackling a list there's a lot of fun to be had! It's wacky but in a mostly relatable way and everyone bleeds with personality; enough to step into their shoes? Debatable. All in all it's an explosively good time and yes that was intentional. Things might seem slow but the episodes go by real fast! Konosuba avoids a lot of tired cliche jokes and where it doesn't it often uses them at the very least in a different way than many might come to expect. Visual comedy is abundant and very enjoyable, and the voice work does a great ser…

I'm gonna be honest with you, I stayed away from this anime after seeing the Sylvia and orc girls scenes on Twitter. Only later to find out that it was from one of the movies, not the show. So I forced myself to watch the show. Normally, I would stay away from these types of anime since they're mainly uninteresting and use tropes I hate, but I decided to make an exception to see if my hatred for this show was justified or not. After watching this season, I can say with full confidence, my hatred for this anime is valid. However, while I do find a lot of it insufferable and unfunny, I will admit that, as a satire, it does a fine job, some of the jokes are funny even though I didn't laugh, and the chemistry between Kazuma and Megumin was cute. Besides that, I still don't like it and have no…

Konosuba is a silly comedy isekai, we follow Kasuma, a NEET loser who dies in the dumbest of ways, since he had a sad, shallow life he's allowed to reincarnate in a new world with a huge advantage to help him defeat the demon lord and his generals. The animation is generally fine, although there's moments where you can notice a really sloppy job, but other scenes look like the entire budget went there. The characters are again generally fine, Aqua the goddess is very flawed: she's lazy, egocentric and cowardly, this along with her innate power makes her very interesting, same for Megumin who captures a girl adolescent quite well: Strong-willed, innocent, stubborn and playful, this along with her obsession with explosion magic makes her the best character in my opinion, she's relatable, we…

In an era ridden with isekai animes, Konosuba has been consistently my favourite one thus far. Konosuba’s beauty is a simple and elegant concept, balance. Konosuba’s characters are quirky and overpowered but, at the same time, crippled with the most absurd flaws. They are endearing and relatable characters with the ability to become the most obnoxious ones in a moment’s notice. Ironically, also a party of best friends and worst enemies. Story-wise, we are graced with a perfect blend of realism, fantasy and adventure. Mindless slice of life with over-the-top comedy at times but deep and exhilarating in others. For some reason, I often find myself captivated and immersed in this party of misfits’ adventures and shenanigans. While I’d like to claim Konosuba as a master piece, I am cognisan…

Note: This will be a review of the series in its entirety. Overview: We've all heard the story before- a boy (or girl) gets pulled to another world, they gain a super-powerful ability or item to help them survive, form a tight-knit group of companions and save the world from a demon king or some other threat. However, what if the person didn't care much about saving the world? What if the ability he gained turned out to be not so useful after all? What if his companions proved to be more hindrances than assets? Answer these questions and you get "Konosuba", a hilarious parody of the isekai genre, though sadly it never manages to be much more than that. Story & World (6.5/10): Kazuma Satou is a 16-year-old boy who almost never leaves his house unless he has to, usually to buy new video ga…

Honestly I thought I would enjoy this but as an isekai loving person, I would love to see a good character build and story progression. But this anime's story progression is waaay tooooo sloooooow !!!!!. And the MC has idiots as his teammates. On top of that almost all women are made to do lame lusty jokes with their characters. I mean WHY?? There are not even funny. If this continues the MC would take at least 40 more seasons to become powerful enough to defeat the Demon king!! Almost feels like a slice of life anime. Boring. Everytime the MC gets a reward he gets a bigger penalty which makes harder to invest in the story itself. Why would someone want to see a MC who gets reincarnated into a magic world wants to see the MC doing day labour jobs and no prominent increase in the basic s…

I've been chasing the high I got watching Konosuba ever since I finished it, and I still have yet to find it in any other show. The only reason its not my favorite piece of fiction ever made is because Evangelion exists, and even then its still a hard sell to not put it in the number one slot. Konosuba is the perfect comedy. I don't tend to laugh out loud when I'm watching comedies, but I found myself out of breath watching Konosuba. It sets up its jokes so well that they always catch you off-guard, but then you think back on it and realize it was totally on brand for the series. The main cast is the epitome of "lovable idiots." Each one of the four is either an asshole, and idiot, horny, obnoxious, or all four, and yet they're still some of the most endearing and genuine characters I've…

I came to this series from the recommendation of a friend when I asked him for a solid comedy anime. I hadn't really been jiving with the comedic bits of other anime like FMA:B and Steins;Gate, and I wanted to test whether this was just a fluke of a few shows, or whether Japanese comedy as a whole simply doesn't translate well to English. After watching Konosuba, I'm increasingly coming to the conclusion that the latter interpretation is correct. I've heard that Japanese comedy can be big on wordplay which I'm sure would get absolutely mangled by translation issues. Some turbo-weeaboos might claim this means I'm unable to properly judge the genre, as I'm not really getting the full experience unless I've learned the language. I understand their position, but I'm going to ignore those peopl…
