Introduction

When Qian Yunshang's marriage to Ye Youming is arranged by the emperor, she is terrified that the bad blood between their families will lead to her being treated miserably in the Ye household. He summons his firstborn daughter—her existence unknown to all but his own family—to be the stand-in for her younger sister. Due to her unusual powers, Qian Yun Xi was exiled by her family when she was a child. Deprived of filial affection, she made a life of her own amid the wilderness on Mt. Ling Yun. However, everything begins to change when she marries Ye Youming in her sister's stead. honestly you need to be self aware in knowing what you want to see. if you're looking for complex plots, busy actions scenes, heavy intellectual stimulations or strong emotional responses this isn't for you! if you want to wind down while being entertaining enough that it won't get boring, this is the vibe I would go for. it's easy to keep up, it's short, it's funny-ish, and there's mild romance. you know where it's gonna go, but in a good way. the female lead is not thinking about romance so when a guy comes up to her she's quick to brush them off but the prince still manages to make her flutter.

This show is average at best. There's a clear lack of tension between the FMC and MMC, the FMC lacks depth, and the plot is mediocre. If you're looking for something to watch to pass the time, this one's for you, but don't expect anything that would tug at your heartstrings. To compare this to its modern counterpart, The Apothecary Diaries, I would watch the apothecary any day over this. That being said, however, if you're a Chinese speaker, you would find this hilarious. There are many well-hidden jokes spoken in Chinese that you wouldn't understand without knowing contemporary Chinese culture/are familiar with the language.

I went in expecting the usual formula. Pretty girl, no survival skills, romance doing all the heavy lifting. Instead I got a female lead who is actually strong. Like physically and mentally. She is sharp, independent, and way too competent for the kind of palace drama she gets thrown into. She does not just stand there looking shocked while things happen to her. She fights back, thinks on her feet, and handles situations like she has done this before. That alone made the show way more enjoyable. Watching her move through the story feels active, not passive, which is rare and honestly refreshing. Also yes, the men are absurdly attractive. It is distracting. I am not mad about it. The story stays interesting enough that you never feel like you are forcing yourself through episodes. It is…

I thought the story was entertaining, but not that exciting that I got immersed in the story. Especially the beginning of the story had good comedic moments, so it is an easy watch. However, there were moments I almost stopped watching because of the way prince Ye treated Yunxi. Most of the time it seemed needlessly cruel to me. This does change at some point. Yunxi was fun to watch, but we learn very little about her background and powers. I’m also unsure about how the magic of this world works in general. I haven’t watched season 2 yet, so I’m not sure if we’ll get more plot development there, but except for the relationship between the two leads, all conflict that’s introduced at the beginning remains completely unresolved at the end of the season. And still, the romance takes a long…

in a nutshell it was terrible but also entertaining. I disliked mostly every character. the ml was a deep red flag (sexual assault like 3 times! might've been more I didn't keep close count) and the fl wasn't as annoying as everyone saying imo. sure she's dumb and makes rash decisions but honestly I continued watching the show cause of that. I would say the plot isn't very unique, but the fl has that entertaining kind of stupidity that made want to know what she'd do next. the side characters kinda just exist for the fl, to spite or support her, not much individuality there. even the ml doesn't have much to him but his entitled attitude lol. also the opening song also was amazingly weird, probably my favorite part of the show, I don't skip it.

This show was just watchable enough. The main character (the princess) is barely likeable- I’d call her tolerable. Everyone likes a mistreated Cinderella-type who stands up for herself and can fight… but she only barely does those things. Actually, she’s quite rude. She doesn’t know her place- her behavior shouldn’t be tolerated in an imperial setting, but somehow she gets away with it. She also keeps hitting people. I guess it’s supposed to be funny, but it’s just obnoxious. When I was watching, I just treated it as literary exaggeration, and mentally replaced each such scene with “she expressed her frustration in a humorous way”. It’s not unenjoyable to watch her navigate various situations, but I only barely liked her and barely rooted for her. All in all, just tolerable. And whatev…

This “romance comedy” left me infuriated in most episodes and I am genuinely shocked at the high ratings of this show. I will condense my thoughts in spoiler free general feedback. Overall: Except for the female MC and her “special friends”, I genuinely did not feel an iota of interest or connection with anyone, including the male MC. In fact most of them are downright horrible people and it makes it hard to root for “romance” when the whole time you just want the female MC to punch male MC in the face, and disappear for good never to be seen again. I thought it was stereotypical “cold guy turns good” trope, but no, the male MC is genuinely a garbage human and someone willing to abuse a woman repeatedly on whim, I absolutely do not want a relationship between him and the female lead. If a…

Tong Ling Fei (Psychic Princess) was such an enjoyable surprise! If you’re into historical romances with a sprinkle of supernatural flair and a fiery female lead, this one hits the mark. The story follows Qian Yun Xi, a noblewoman with spiritual powers who ends up marrying into the royal family in her sister’s place. What seems like a forced marriage plot quickly turns into an entertaining back and forth between two stubborn, complex characters who slowly let their guards down. What really stood out to me was Yun Xi herself. She’s confident, clever, and doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, not even her cold, brooding husband, Prince Ye. Their interactions are full of tension, humor, and slowly building trust, which makes the romance feel more earned than rushed. The animation style is also…

Honestly I didn't like the first few episodes. It felt like watching the same thing again and again, the FL getting in trouble and somehow getting over it. I wasn't really excited for the couple, if anything I was more interested in her relationship with her family. I felt the story didnt started actually moving forward until like half way through the series. I was about to drop it but some of the plot points were interesting and even tho they weren't develope properly, I was able to power through them and finish it. As a positive, the art style is cute and tells you a lot about each character. I just wish they could have done better on the first eposides and move forward with the story.

Expected nothing and enjoyed a lot. It is pretty mediocre in almost all aspects (animation, soundtrack, script, etc.), but if you just relax and let this anime entertain you - it will do its job prefectly. The MC is fun, very active and assertive, befriends ghosts and horses left and right. The main dude is the right type, possessive control freak, exactly what one would want from "enemies to lovers" plot. The story is simple and lighthearted, don't expect much of it, just a nice background for the romance. If you enjoy this type of trope, it's worth a shot. One important note: don't trust the opening, it's incredibly awkward and looks like a really bad fever dream.

This was really fun to watch. I like hate to love romance. Interactions betwen FL and ML were funny. Also FL is strong, independent, capable of doing thing on her own (not some stupid crybaby). ML is manly, not naive,strong... i liked his character too. Some coments on ML are like.... he is practising abusive sexualized love behavior blah blah.... but i thing othervise cause FL is overal strong individual character whit a lot of pride, kind of tsundere and play hard to get so for me his behavior towards FL is maching to her type of personality. I am definitely looking towards 2nd season.

Fun chill chinese anime, that is a bit rough sometimes as is many chinese anime, however I just rewatched it and defenitely found it enjoyable. If you have seen other chinese anime its in the same vein as The Demonic King Who Chases His Wife (Xie Wang Zhui Qi), and a bit further away but still similar to Cinderella Shef(Meng Qi Shi Shen). Those 2 are probably betterish, although head to head I found Demonic king a bit more inconsistant, and its a lot more combat focused than Cinderella chef. The biggest problem for me, is the first episode. It drags a bit, and honestly on rewatch I just skip it. Honestly, if you were interested enough to read this and are looking for a show thats enjoyable but you might forget after a few weeks, look no further and you might as well just put on the firs…

Solid 8/10 nice change of pace. I found myself really enjoying it and couldn't stop myself from clicking the next episode unfortunately its left with really nice leads for a second season I doubt it will ever get, but even so I have no regrets watching it and would consider re-watching it in the future plus the prince is fantastic I love that the love plot is actually realistic even if nothing else in the show is if you like Chinese dramas I think you would definitely enjoy this! This may not have the most unique storyline but I enjoyed every second the art style was gorgeous and the main characters were given flaws as well as strengths so that's always a plus. Overall nothing to complain about except the no season two but such is the fate of so many great anime *sigh*

I decided to watch this anime because usually it is rare for a romance to have close to an 80% rating unless it is really good, but this show really disappointed me. The art style is beautiful, and I thought the plot was intriguing that being centered around a psychic woman who has to marry a Prince for her family. This is the typical and ideal fantasy for those of us who watch romance; girl marries "cold" prince, and he actually ends up being kind natured and loving and romance blossoms. Perfect. Well, this show is the exact opposite. I'm a sucker for the mean guy turns nice cliche, but the lead male MC - Prince Ye, is actually so heartless and rude it turned me off completely. I had to constantly remind myself that this show is set in a historical time period where women basically didn'…

This is exactly what I needed! I binged it in a few hours and I'm so hooked! The storyline was interesting and keeps you rooting for our princess. I just wish we had more because I really need more! I loved the female lead she is cute, sassy and hilarious, she kicks lots of butt and there is never a dull moment. She just can't seem to keep herself out of trouble! I'm a Simp for our Prince he really grew on me! I fell involve with him instantly. I also liked his brother and his general. The Spirits are adorable! I definitely recommend! It was the perfect pick me up.

The first few episodes were hard to get through because they seem so out of place; but, let me assure you, once you get through the earlier episodes, this anime is a true gem. It is even better than a lot of the Japanese counterparts like "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!". In fact, it's even better than that. There is not a huge reverse harem where every hot guy is immediately in love with the main protagonist. The reverse harem were present in the beginning of the show, which is why I said it was so difficult to get through the earlier episodes. But the cast pretty much disappears towards the end. Each episode we see the two main protagonist fight verbally or even physically, but slowly but surely the male cold protagonist warms up to the charms and personality o…

I don't bother writing many reviews, but I wanted to say while I enjoyed the story it felt like it built a lot up without really going into depth. It ended things in a very anticlimatic way where it felt like I had only finished the halfway point of the season. I'm not sure if there is a second season planned but so far there was a lot of set up and I feel like they didn't even get much of a chance to even get into the *real* conflict of the show. I liked the art, characters and plot for the most part (Prince Ye could learn the definition of "no" a bit better, tho), but I just wish they addressed at least on of their plot questions

I did not expect this series to be my first review. I just find Chinese donghua underrated and wish to show my support. Tong Ling Fei is your typical historical rom-com with all the cliches characteristic of the genre. What made it stand out for me is the opening music. Its a total riot: with MC's dancing to what appears to be a poorly translated food review of salty fish. I think it's obvious that the target market is young girls. Best to take the series tongue in cheek as it's fun to watch. The story is easy to follow. Loads of male eye-candy. Female MC is a pretty, cute and feisty heroine with mystical powers, male lead sometimes got on my nerves with his misogynistic, arrogant attitude of 'if you're handsome and rich you can get away with being a bully'. I tried not to take him serio…

Found this gem looking for some non-cg imperial donghua. Best part of the show is the intro. Sounds like a eunich discovering karaoke for the first time. Adding it to my dancing characters collection for amv's. Show begins with an emporer-imposed political marriage between a prince and the prime minister's daughter in order to quell the tension between the two families. Due to the past arguments between them, the entire prime minister's family is reluctant to go through with the marriage. But luckily for them, he had an abandoned daughter whom he had left at the mountains at a young age. He brings her home and uses her as a scapegoat to illegally swap places with his precious favored girl. Our MC is Qian Yunxi, a carefree girl with spiritual powers that was raised by a Taoist in the mou…
