I'm not in the business of writing overly long and flowery anime reviews, so I'll keep mine short.
It is incredible – astonishing and amazing – the story you can create when you don't make the MC of your isekai an overpowered, short-haired, harem-toting high-school boy.
Because the protagonist of this anime is in no way overpowered – they're a child, actually, so they're weaker than damn near every other relevant character in the anime – you end up with actual stakes. I can actually suspend my disbelief (however little of it I had, really) and feel a bit of fear for the protagonist when they end up in a terrifying situation.
Art - [7] Nothing in this anime stood out to me in particular when it came to the art.
Music - [8] The opening and ending songs are nice to listen to, but aside from…

I watched this anime between 23rd and 25th December 2025, and it became my 91st anime of 2025. This is a different kind of isekai. In most isekai anime, the protagonist comes with full memories of their past life and becomes overpowered. But in this anime, Ivy, the main character, only has hazy, whisper-like memories of her former life.
If I say too much, it will become a spoiler. The story follows a girl named Ivy who has to hide in the forest to save her life. There she finds a slime that can eat trash.
The story feels very calm and beautiful. Even though there is some action, politics, comedy, and harsh reality, the overall vibe is peaceful and comforting. I definitely recommend it.
If you like sad origin stories and then slowly seeing small moments of happiness with cozy vibes, you…

I read some of the manga like 3 years agoish and it doesn't quite follow it at all at the start which is fine according to other reviews they really liked it. My main thing is the art style sucks absolute booty hole in the anime. The manga's art style was kinda good not revolutionary but kinda good still but the anime? Terrible. the animation too just sucked. Also I dropped it when there were no action scenes because I hate slice of lifes because theres never good art never good animation or even scenes that would merely require them and a lackluster storyline along with it. I did binge watch all 12 episodes in one sitting though so it was a good story but I'm also really fucking sick rn and had nothing better to do. Watch this if ur kinda running out of good anime to watch.

I feel a bit of a heretic to say it, but in contrast to the most common complaint I've see against this series, I don't agree that it starts well and ends poorly. On the contrary, the issue is almost the opposite.
In its first few episodes this show is slow, dull, boring. For three episodes, nothing happens. Had I not been binging and unwilling to start something new, I would have dropped it at episode 3. This is a good example of 'the veneer of quality'. So many have lauded this show's mature themes examining the psychological trauma of an outcast child, but the reality is that those first few episodes that recieve so much praise have nothing to say beyond 'an outcast child would be miserable'. I fear many have mistaken addressing a mature topic with actually having something to say. If…

This is only the second isekai anime that made me tear up. I've watched a ton of isekai series, but they usually don't hit me emotionally.
The first one that brought me to tears was the Mushoku Tensei manga version, the scene where Rudy reunites with his dad.
If you're sensitive to stories about abandoned children or characters with parental issues, you'll probably like this one.
Art style was great 😃 👍

I didn't really finish this anime but I still loved parts of it not all of them and that's why am giving a mixed review
The opening is some of the best I have ever heard the art the anime is so good
Now the problem is the pacing which most people will not like and I can agree everything is so long and its not really serious the villains are not really what you call villain and her parents leaving her makes no sense to me but I still liked it the art the music ivy and sora the Characters the journey I love it but most people won't thats why am giving it a mixed feeling but overall
It's a 7 0ut of 10 for me

Story
This anime tells the story of Ivy, who is not a super overpowered being, but is genuinely weak yet intelligent. Because she lacks skills granted by the gods, she needs to rely heavily on her brain and resourcefulness. This is a refreshing change, especially when compared to most isekai and fantasy shows where the protagonist is often a brainless, overpowered kid. Personally, I feel like the focus of the story isn't just about the MC's power level but about the smaller, human-level interactions, which is nice to see. We aren't here to fight the Demon King; we're here to watch a good, relaxing, and very casual story.
Visuals
There are many characters with a decent amount of detail. The visuals, even if they aren't abundant, are well-made, and the overall art style is decent. It's not…

This is one of the worst commercially successful fantasy anime you’ll ever see.
First of all, it has nothing to do with isekai — it’s just plain fantasy. The whole “soul from another world” concept does literally nothing, and that’s no exaggeration. There are only a handful of moments when this “soul” makes some completely unoriginal comments — and that’s it. Honestly, the anime would have been better without the isekai element at all.
Then there’s the title. It has almost nothing to do with a “journey picking up trash.” Yes, the protagonist does pick up trash, but the plot itself only moves forward thanks to constant deus ex machina moments and worn-out tropes. For example:
“Oh no, there’s a conveniently super rare slime that only you figured out how to tame!”
Or, “Oh no, there’s a monst…

This feels like one of those shows that's going to end up on an "Incredible anime you've never heard of" list.
No single aspect is particularly impressive, but as a whole this is a well produced nice story that's worth your time. It's an isekai that really doesn't fall into most of the common pitfalls of the genre.
It's not horny, this is huge. It's way too hard to find fantasy anime low on "fanservice". The MC is technically overpowered, but it's balanced well. The pacing is near perfect, providing plenty of time to actually develop characters.
I hope it gets a chance to continue.

The writer of The Weakest Tamer decided the best way to make a child the protagonist would be to give the rest of the cast IQs of small children while giving the MC the IQ of a pre-teen.
The cast is at best one note, at worst, un-notable at all. Far too many are obsessed with a random child just because
The show isn't actually annoying, so it's okay if you wanna shut off your brain while consuming junk. Mediocre junk at that. It's not great by any definition of the word. Never worth a rewatch either.
That's the closest I can possibly come to praising this trash.

Overall a fairly polished anime, but also a very disappointing one. The animation has some flash to it surprisingly, it's pretty good and a pleasure to watch. The character detail can be a bit lacking at times, but overall it's exceptionally tidy. The backgrounds are really good and consistent to boot.
The story and characters start out fantastic. There's depth and intrigue, it's fairly dark and hits home. However, much to my disappointment, the latter epsiodes start to be more of the typical isekai cheese. Character development slows, and the characters around the main character lose most of the charm the previous characters had. The story also slows down quite a bit and loses the grit it began with, becoming rather typical and lackluster.
The voice acting was pretty much the same stor…

A cozy by the numbers isekai story without any fanservice. You probably already know if this is for you just by reading that. It's got all the tropes, including discrimination, adventure guilds, even slavery. The animation is good, and even though the story is tropey/cheesy it can still invoke some emotions. I liked the slime and cat characters, and a lot of the characters weren't as one dimensional as you might expect.
All the same, by the end I was getting a bit frustrated with how cheesy the plot was getting and how rushed the resolutions seemed. Overall though I enjoyed it, and kept wanting to watch.

Saijaku Tamer is about precocious girl Ivy who is rejected by her village and family for not having good enough powers. Because having a power rating below a certain level is very uncommon, she gets the reputation as a cursed child, essentially. As a result, she gets scapegoated for the village's problems and has to make her escape. She decides to follow the advice of the local fortune teller, basically her surrogate mother after everything goes wrong for her, and travel to specific city quite a ways away.
This anime is thus an adventure story where she discovers her tamer powers and meets people on the road to that faraway city. It's kind of a daily log of what she does, who she meets, and how she manages the dangers and uncertainties of traveling with a positive, though cautious attitu…

This is basically a disney show combined with an anime executed perfectly , it isn't here to make great plot points , it's more of a show where the main goal of it is to use you're emotions and it did really well.
The character development for our MC was great , the funny moments/characters were pretty good and it was extremely wholesome.
Also the animation was perfect for it.
The best part is how somehow they recreated the felling of discovering a new world with-out knowing all the rules before end by making confusing parts (such as being reincarnated but having your memories as an internal monologue that helps you) or the star system , witch should be extremely important (do to social status and many other reasons) but it only fells like (talent from birth for a certain skill)
All sa…

The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash is a heartwarming and captivating tale that follows the resilient and endearing Ivy as she overcomes societal rejection, finds friendship in an unexpected ally, and embarks on a journey filled with hope and determination to carve out her own destiny.
The story is very interesting and unpredictable, making it incredibly fun and unique. The art style of this anime is exceptional, clearly showing that the creation budget was well-allocated to ensure high-quality visuals.
The characters look adorable and unique, and their reactions to situations and events are impressively realistic.
I'm enjoying this series because it combines a compelling narrative with beautiful animation and well-developed, relatable characters. I hope they can make anim…

“The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash” is what happens when You want to write a feel-good story but have no idea how to do it well.
Judging by the positive reviews I’m probably gonna get some flack for this but… This show is pretty bad when it comes to logical writing. A lot and I do mean A LOT of plot points happen only because they have to, to evoke sympathy for the main character and not because they make sense. It uses a lot of the same cheap tricks as “To Your Eternity” but does it more heavy headedly. Let me explain…
The plot revolves around Ivy - an 8 year old girl posing as a boy (“Kino’s Journey” anyone?).
When she was 5 she partook in a ritual to reveal her skill and proficiency in it. Turns out our heroine, then still going by the name Femicia has zero start (I g…

I enjoyed watching this a lot more than I expected
The first episode does start off very slow and to be honest I almost dropped it after that one. However, after watching episode 2, the anime felt a lot more interesting to me and I'm glad I continued watching it
The store revolves around Felicia, a starless girl that is being chased by her home town for not having a star. Her hometown saw this as some sort of threat and started hunting her down. She denounced her entire past and started fresh as Ivy. Now she's on a run to escape and survive.
One thing I liked about this anime is it didn't go with the basic troupe of making the MC really over powered or at least super strong. Instead they went with her own survival of hunting, taming 2 companions and making her way town to town, resolv…

The Weakest Tamer follows Femicia, a daughter in a village awaiting her awakening skill along with her reincarnated split-personality. After her fifth birthday and awakening she receives a starless tamer skill and is ridiculed by the villagers and even her own family members; She decides to escape the village and explore the lands with her skill hiding under the guise of a boy named Ivy. It is on this journey where Ivy learns the true values of family and kinship.
Story & Characters: 5/10
The story is very simple: There is no story or goal. In The Weakest Tamer, the story is more like an impromptu and organic flow of events that we encounter as Ivy explores the world. There isn't any direct goal or milestones beyond Ivy's efforts to explore the world while scavenging for useful materials…

This anime was super adorable and wholesome. It's just a young girl finding out that she can have friends and parental figures who do love her, despite her zero stars. Not to mention, Sora is adorable. You can't help but cheer for Sora and Ivy as soon as you meet them. I did like the first half of this series more, but the second half was still enjoyable. The isekai aspect of the plot made isn't super expanded on yet, other than Ivy's past life giving her ideas from the current world. The art and character designs were great. Highly recommend!
