Okay let me pitch you on this take the coolness of skate boarding the ad the camp and theatrics of wrestling by giving every skate boarder basically gimmicks everything from a catboy to a guy whos new to skateboarding and is more use to snowboarding so he tapes his skateboard to his feet then make it a race to ad the drama that races just kind of have and finally ad more than a bit of yaoi bait gay subtext/ undertones to ad a emotional edge and some personal drama as well to fit into to the wrestling style camp and you get this anime it really is that simple of a idea but it is one of those ideas thats so clever its hard to mess up so if you want a show thats both filled with shonen super coolness and also has a little bit of a more female gaze but not enough to scare off the guys then thi…

A pretty good show! I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a fun short anime to watch, I think that Reki's and Langa's fight does drag on for a bit longer than it should and holds this series back as it lulls in the middle/end. Also, while the comparison has been made 100 times before, Adam is just a Walmart Hisoka but not as interesting. The side characters were also written pretty well, most were integral to the main plot and didn't feel sidelined as much as other side characters in shows often are. Super excited for the second season (if it ever does come out) and can't wait to see how Reki and Langa's journey will continue from here.

I have a hard time knowing where to start when it comes to talking about Sk8. This review has very slight spoilers but does not expose specific events.
On the one hand, it is a lighthearted, cute 'sports' show with an overarching narrative of doing what you love because it's FUN, not just to win or be good. For that, I think it has some really enjoyable moments and an overall positive moral.
The main two characters are honestly really well fleshed out, have enjoyable personalities, nice designs, and reasonable issues to tackle. The best parts of Sk8 are when Reki and Langa interact. Going into it, I wholly expected a very normal friendship dynamic, with Langa learning the basics of skating and gradually getting better at doing tricks and stuff like that. I think if Sk8 had delivered on a…

i really loved rewatching this! such a sweet, feel-good show that you can put on when you have nothing to watch, although it can be a little cheesy and have that “power of friendship” type of vibe. i really enjoyed both reki and langas character development and watching their relationship blossom :)
the art styles and animation is really smooth especially during the skating sequences, but something that really stood out to me is the graffiti artwork in the intro, it really caught my eye and look’s totally amazing. the soundtrack is great too!
the side characters also had great storylines, i especially loved adam and tadashis backstory. i kinda feel like almost every duo in the show had a possibility of having a romantic relationship but it never really got anywhere, i don’t know if it’s…

I confess, I was a teenager when I had a skateboard, yet I could never get into it. However, I grew up watching some and played a couple of video games that involved pro skaters such as Tony Hawk and Bam Margera (until controversies bit him in the ass). I just assume that I'm not one hundred percent one board since they were all over the place in certain commercials between the late 90s/early 2000s. I guess if I was young and this anime was released back then, I would be on board on skateboarding. Because this anime is as the sport goes. Just all about fun, along with some messages that make sense of how this anime is fun. There will be some slight spoilers in this review, but I won't share every single spoiler detail, don't worry. Still, you have been warned.
The story takes place in Okin…

PEAK FICTION😭. unrealistic, yes but that's what all anime are. FICTION. have some fun watching this because it will be one of the best 1 season shows you will ever watch. This and a couple others are the golden standard when it comes to making an anime about a hobby that people like irl. jojo's villains, homosexual themes, funny dialogue. if anything I should have watched it when it first came out, but I missed out for a while until now. take my words of advice, don't rush the show and enjoy it because anime like this isnt common. that animation style was peak as well👍

i remember when sk8 got famous and everyone was talking about it and i got so scared because i thought reki died.
IN THE END IT WAS ALL A BUNCH OF LIES THAT STOPPED ME FROM SEEING THIS INCREDIBLE ANIME
i couldn't care less if the anime is not realistic or if it's all a bunch of "friendship solves all" history. i've never been a person that were into the fun and giggles stuff, but sk8 really got me. after all, it's not just fun and giggles.
all of the characters has their own history and purposes and it makes it so fun to watch. my hands really got cold everytime i saw a competition. and oh, how i was cheering for langa and reki. even if it's not explicit, it's clearly how much they love each other and that was a important point of the anime for me (langa literally saying he likes reki to h…

SK8 the Infinity bursts with vibrant energy, stylish visuals, and likable characters. The series builds its story around adrenaline, youth rebellion, and the magnetic pull of competition. The narrative transforms the skateboard sport into a high-stakes underground culture where identity, pride, and personal freedom collide on dangerous downhill tracks. The story takes place in Okinawa, where a secret night race known as “S” operates outside official sports institutions. Hidden within abandoned industrial roads and steep mountain slopes, "S" functions as an underground arena for skateboarders seeking thrill and recognition. Participants race one-on-one along narrow downhill courses filled with sharp turns, improvised obstacles, and unpredictable hazards. Victory depends not only on speed bu…

Wow. Just wow. I don’t know anything about skateboard culture, but that didn’t stop me from loving SK8 the Infinity. This anime is fun, light, and full of energy. Sure, it can be unrealistic—but honestly, that’s what makes it even more enjoyable. Sometimes you just need something that makes you smile and feel without thinking too much. And this show did exactly that for me.
What stood out the most was the friendship between Reki and Langa. Their bond felt so real and genuine. The anime also shows something very human: the fear of being left behind, of not being good enough, of losing a connection you value so much. Reki’s emotions were painful and relatable, and Langa’s quiet understanding made it even more emotional. It reminds us that it’s okay to feel insecure sometimes, but true frien…

10 servings of A&W poutine out of 10. This show rocks. I mean, I watched it 12 times in the summer of 2021 alone, so that probably says something about the show's quality. Or me as a person circa 4 years ago, I dunno.
If you aren't into kinda trite "friendship and [the activity the show is about] is awesome!" type anime, then you probably won't enjoy this show, but if you are it's absolutely one of the best in that niche.
The friendships between the characters (especially the main duo) are so endearing and fun, the animation is consistently stellar, the dub is fucking fantastic, the character designs are so cool, as are the personalities attached to them, and the OST is full of pop punk instrumental bangers (Reki's image song, Seize the Moment!!, literally sounds like a blink-182 song. I…

I binge-watched the anime, consisting of 12 episodes, on June 21, 2025, and to be honest, I had much more fun than expected. While the show revolves around skateboarding, it's no ordinary sports anime. It's such a nice blending of action and adventure with comedy and amounts of friendship and rivalry.
There is no romantic storyline involved; however, there are strong relationships, especially between the two main leads: Reki and Langa.
Langa transfers from Canada to Okinawa in Japan, and soon, he becomes notable in the underground circuit under the applied alias "Snow."
As for Reki, he is a worldly passionate skateboarder who even builds skateboards himself. Among the highlights of the show are watching the developments in their friendship and witnessing them push each other to their lim…

Gay people are soooo dramatic.
It feels like the centre of gravity of the skateboarders was way too much foreward. However someone else would need to tell me if that's right or not.
The first time i'll say this, but this should've taken place over two seasons, or the serie should've had more episodes. It did not get enough time to fully develop and flesh out the characters. It had a lot of potential and it showed that, but the time constraint made for a rushed timeline. Wherein things like training arcs, background storys, and risks of being a skateboarder were lightly touched upon without havung the chance to further develop. If you have the time to make this a quick watch, i would recommend it.

This anime was absolutely incredible! I was so captivated by the story and characters that I even managed to finish watching the entire series in just one single day because it was truly LIT!! The excitement kept me glued to the screen from start to finish.
Unique Story: The premise of underground skating as a competitive sport is quite unique, mixing adrenaline with character-driven narratives. While some plot elements may feel familiar, the execution and the vibrant world the characters inhabit keep it refreshing.
Predictability and Enjoyment: Even if some aspects might be predictable, the infectious energy of the skating culture and the relationships among characters make it a fun watch. If you enjoy sports genres or character-driven stories, there’s plenty to appreciate.
Art Style:…

I'll be so real: All 5 of the docked points are purely because the character of Adam exists. Words cannot encompass how deep my hatred for that ugly, goofy eyebrows, lipless, yeti built monster runs. Honestly, he doesn't even have to do anything for me to hate him, I just see his face and am instantly fuelled by the rage to go adult Gon on him. I genuinely cannot count the amount of times I was hoping this show would suddenly take the dark crime show thriller route and throw in a random serial killer to just pop in and take him out :'( I love Tadashi but I'm still so mad at him for not taking the opportunity to get Adam thrown in jail (where hopefully another inmate would take him out) and instead continues to follow the man who calls him a dog and treats him like trash?? Like GET UP TADAS…

AAAAAAAAA I LOVE THEM ALL HUHU!
What captivates me the most in this anime is the characters! I love how their story presented one by one in the anime. I love how the characters interact with each other with their sports.
What is more amazing is that it's not just a simple skating, but it has some effects to allure and be more exciting to watch!
About the characters, they are diverse and colorful and has some unique personalities! Especially the two main characters bwahaha (the calm and energetic one!)
The art style is more like street, punk, and casual vibe plus the music and overall energy gives the dynamic and visually engaging experience.
I know they will be saying that Reki and Langa have too many awkward interactions but that's what I like the most!
Overall, I would definitely…

The skating isn't realistic at all. It feels like the studio didn't research skateboarding and the culture and created a story about what they thought skateboarders were like. The plot was lacklustre. The anime did nothing terrible, but it did nothing great either. The only decent things were the art and animation.
Nothing was interesting about the characters. The MC is the generic, overly energetic protagonist. The deuteragonist is the stereotypical emotionless and "cooler" character and probably the most interesting character in the show, which says a lot about the rest. And the villain is basically just Hisoka from Walmart. Also, this one's more of a personal preference, but as a Christian, I was not fond of the Adam and Eve comparisons in the later episodes. Even objectively, the Ada…

are you looking for a sports anime that would make you feel the way the ones from 2010s did? don't search any longer, sk8 the infinity is here!!
such a fun experience, full of lovely characters, feels and an awful villain, like oh my god, it's ridiculous how much i hate him. fair warning for grooming, inapropriate language and touches towards minors and just overall creepiness and violence. thank god no one in the show views it as something normal/excusable.
sk8 the infinity tackles all the good stuff: developing friendship, healthy rivarly, overcoming doubts and finidng your place in the world. additionally it gives us some love between the characters and who doesn't like some budding romance with over-the-top declarations.
yeah, it's very troupe-y and similiar to other titles from thi…

NO MAJOR SPOILERS
I really liked this anime from the beginning, when it first aired, so I told myself that I had to rewatch it. Never been so excited after a rewatch! There's this redhead, his name is Reki, remember it! He is a great skater and he LOVES skateboarding, he knows EVERYTHING about it, too, he also participates in an illegal skating competition called "S". And there's this newly transferred student (half Canadian, half Japanese, lived in Canada until his father passes away), he has no experience on skateboarding at all, he just wants a well-paid job to financially help his mother since they moved back to japan(where his mother's from), his name is Langa btw. After Langa's failed interview, the 2 of them met on the streets and that's how it all started. Honestly speaking, Reki…

So I just want to say that this review is coming from someone who's been in the skateboarding community for over 6 years, and therefore I will try to remain unbiased and understanding of a non-skater's point of view, as well as mine.
I am assuming when you are reading this review, you can categorize yourself into 2 categories:
A: You want to watch this anime, mainly for the storyline and don't really care about the realism and accuracy of how skateboarding is depicted, it's anime after all, so maybe it doesn't matter to you.
B: You are a skater yourself and like anime, so you wanna watch something that you can relate to. Otherwise, you may not skate but want to learn more about it, in the most accurate way, and by watching anime.
I'll start off by saying that this anime has a decent p…

I didnt know what to expect once I started watching it but I am sure glad I got to start and finish it.
The animation was on a good high quality level that transports you into a good binge watching. The characters were not bad at all, their plots and backstories really hold up for 12 episodes without letting you get bored or annoyed at their character development or interaction. I dont usually watch sports anime cuz they only lead to the loop story based on/off situations and arcs, but for this one, as a 12 episode anime, it was compact and very thrilling to watch.
On that note, as a almost all male character lead anime, sports orientated and very dinamic, it was a pleasure watching this one.
