Suzuka is definition of teen romantic drama. As I get older it’s harder for me to endure some aspects of it, but there wasn’t any obvious problem in case of Suzuka. Well... maybe except of an MC. Still the combination of sports and romance is new to me in
anime genre and it was working well. To be fair at some times parts which focused on sports thematic interested me more than
this whole love situations.
STORY:7/10
Plot of the show is nothing super-original as it has lot of aspects of classical teen romance like tsundere FMC, love triangle, rejections and settle downs, being confused about own feelings and plus some tragic past. On the other hand as soon as athletics came upon a screen I always found myself to be more…

Suzuka is a sporty take on the classic high school romance of its era. Its 2005 animation is retro for the modern day, along with many of its episodic plots, but the relationship between the two main leads is engaging and unique. The story utilizes a slightly melodramatic tone throughout, but never to the point of frustration.
The main female lead, the titular Suzuka, maintains her likability through the ups and downs inherent in early 2000s anime while never feeling like a flat character. She is certainly best described as a tsundere character however, which may not be appealing to every viewer. Meanwhile, our protagonist Yamato Akitsuki may be one of the more interesting protagonists in the 2000s romance genre. He is a very confrontational character, often to a fault, and this flaw lead…

Suzuka is one of my favourite animes. Even though its concept is really cliché i still can't get it out of my mind and move on. It is everything you can want from a romance drama with its heartwarming SoL moments to the track competitions which almost makes it feel like a shounen anime to heartbreaking drama, this anime is a masterpiece in my eyes. Objectively, it has a lot of flaws (which is why i gave it an 8). Its story is really cliché, sometimes it stretches the drama like rubber band and gives its characters unnecessary background drama most of the time. But that doesn't matter. There is a reason I can still remember the names of Yamato Akitsuki, Suzuka Asahina, Miki Hashiba and Yasunobu Hattori without looking it up even though i watched/read this a year or so ago while I can't reme…

Animations are very dated and the resolution is pretty low. However some of the backgrounds are pretty good and the characters are well drawn... as long as they're in the foreground. Characters in the background are certifiably jank. Speaking of jank, the running animations. Some of the running animations are okay, but a lot of them are not very fluid and janky. The characters have depth, but they tend to be a bit cliche. That and the quality of the character depth is somewhat lacking. The story is kind of basic and cliche, and it would still be pretty decent if the show was eight episodes long. Unfortunately it's not, so the plot just rinses and repeats the same points until literally the last five minutes of the final episode. It gets a little old to say the least. The pacing from episod…

Suzuka is an anime with the rhythm and aesthetics of its time. I think her protagonist is an excellent example of what she defines to be a Tsundere, with solid development and noticeable gradual transformation. The secondary characters contribute in the right measure and the idea in general makes sense.
The main problem is Akitsuki. The story is told from his point of view and the reality is that in the 26 chapters that this anime lasts we see little growth, self-criticism and desire to be a better person on his part. The only thing that matters to him is to be reciprocated by Suzuka, and he can't achieve anything in life if he doesn't receive her support or approval generating embarrassment in the viewer at times. However, I must admit that Yamato's thoughts and attitudes correspond to t…

This is a romance anime with barely any romance in it. And when romance parts do happen, they are done for the wrong reasons and just to push unnecessary, predictable and poorly written drama.
This anime has 26 episodes, 23 min per episode. That's roughly 10 hours. That is a lot of time for some. So I warmly suggest you to spend few minutes to read my review, and then decide if you want to commit 10h of your time to this anime.
First I will talk without spoilers, but later I will jump into spoiler territory (I will emphasize it).
I don't like giving it a low rating of 1 and I'm always looking for something positive, so I can avoid giving the worst rating if possible.
But this anime definitely surprised me.
The story is very simple, a young boy moves from the country to Tokyo to start a…

first of: the story, i know its probably not what you would like things to go however i think its a great story it shows the problems different young people can have in romance, their emotions etc. The story is not predictable at all its not boring and i watched it 8 times already and i am still not bored even though i know the outcome cause to me a lot of scenes are enjoyable to itself in my opinion. there is a developement in character and it teaches us great lessons. it has highs and lows, funny moments and sad moments. moments of anger and moments of relief.
The art is old now i guess so i gave it a 6.
sound, i mean the opening song is not bad but yeah i stay with 6
Characters: The characters are probably the reason why i watched this for 8 times or so already. i really like the co…

Today I'm going to complain about this show and don't get me wrong, I'm not going to complain about how bad this show is (which in fact is a really good show), I'm going to complain about how irritated I've felt because of the main character's behaviour.
Therefore, I've to remark the fact that Suzuka is sometimes unpredictable in terms of the plot, which is really bizarre considering the large amount of cliché romance anime that exist. The plot makes some really good turns, but in the second-half of the anime, everything goes back to a fresh start. With that I mean, at the beggining there were Yamato who loved Suzuka and Honoka who loved Yamato, then by the end of the first-half of the anime Yamato starts dating with Honoka until they break up over nothing at all, therefor…

We all have that anime that struck gold with us upon first viewing just as we were burrowing downward towards a rabbit hole. We also may have that same anime, once an absolute favorite, fall out of favor over time. It should be more than assumed that Suzuka was that for me. The show hasn’t entirely fallen out of favor for me over the past 7 years or so, but I wouldn’t quite again refer a friend to watch this either.
But there was a time where I was referring my friends to watch this. Asking that they sit down and watch a few episodes with me since there was nothing else I could provide us to rid of boredom. I sold this show as being a smarter romance, sports anime than its contemporaries. I not only gaslit those friends into thinking they were about to watch something like Haikyuu, before…

Compared to other romance anime, this one is a little bit older but i really like how the characters are portrayed in a realistic and even traditional way.
I love a romance where there arent too many characters to keep track of and theres plenty of drama mixed in with some comedy.
This anime teaches a valuable lesson about not giving up on the things you want, and the main characters actually have likeable personalities. It takes itself seriously so it makes it easier to take the anime seriously. It has a similar feel to white album 2 in the sense both the main female leads are cool, confident, hard working, and hold themselves to a high standard.

The ultimate story of a fucking simp and an indecisive bitch. The MC is pathetic as fuck, she rejected you already - stop about thinking of confessing already and the fucking bitch ,I get it you are sad over a dead dick , so when you have already once rejected the MC stop giving him false hope every now and then. I can't believe i sat through all of these, Habisu was a good friend , Yobinasu should have punched the fuck out of the pathetic MC, Honoka's characters is nice , she is better than Suzuka ( fight me ) , just lacking in confidence and dominance.

The anime is good for an old one. I realy like the strive of Yamato and his determination to do everything to get what he wants but I dont think that Suzuka Asahina deserves it because she in not a Tsundere she is just a BITCH. For a sport/ romance anime is good for its time , but I would have liked a diferent ending. It gives me the OREIMO disappointment from the ending. I think the ending is too forced and too predictable. Just look at the girl on the cover and you will know how it will end. I think I can say I enjoyed Suzuka. It provided what I was looking for: No violence, just calm and serene scenes. I liked it, liked the story but HATED the ending. I would not rewatch the anime because I think its not worth the time invested for a rewatch but It's nice to watch the anime for the firs…

Okay here's the thing out of all the RomCom/Drama animes i have watched, i have never seen such a shitty anime that left a really pathetic impression like this one. This is by far the worst RomCom drama i have ever seen.
Suzuka is about a boy, yes, it is about a boy, and not a girl, i know, i know the title and the picture of Suzuka all covered in sweat are misleading but believe me a pussy drench in sweat is tastier than this, it should be titled "Akitsuki's Love Conquest" not Suzuka. So it's about a boy goes in the big city, filled with hopes and dreams, meets girl, love at 1st sight, unrequited love, blah blah blah! In the end, they Ended up together with no chemistry at all! WTFFFFF!!!??? How did that happen?
So here's the deal why i really hate this anime i'll explain it 1 by 1.

I'm going to be really bland here.
Overall this anime is not as good as I expected. Like normal, the male MC acts stupid as fuck. And the plot is also kinda shit. I love short haired anime girls, but this one was kinda shit to be honest. But the thing that makes me feel weird is that, I feel like I want a second season to see what kinda happened after the ending. Fuuka is like a second season, but you'll understand if you watch that after watching Suzuka.
Overall I rate this a 6/10. I just don't really like the plot, and I did not enjoy as much as I expected. But don't turn away from this anime just by seeing this review. Try it, and maybe you'll like it better than I did.

Warning possible Spoilers
The only reason I watched this anime is that it was the prequel to Fuuka so I decided to see how her parents got together and OH MY GOD!!! was it a pain in the ass to watch.
The story starts with Yamato Akitisuki going to school one day then suddenly he see's Suzuka doing her Pole Jump and is completely immersed by her so he decides to fall in love with her and embarks on a long journey to claim her love.
Lets start by saying this story could have been cut down to like 13 episodes instead of 26 because there's a point in the story where something happens that felt like complete filler it was unnecessary and the way the story progressed was so painful the amount of times Yamato tries to make Suzuka like him was so pitiful it either ended up in him being rejected…

To be honest,I don't watch a lot of sports anime. The only sports anime I have watched were the awesome show, Bamboo Blade, that abomination called Wanna Be the Strongest in the World, and the OVERhyped recently aired show Yuri on Ice. Sports isn't my niche, since every sports movie I have watched ever had to do with either some team losing and then winning or some person being crap at sports and then getting better. But, this show is NOT a sports anime, its a really subpar romance"dramedy" with a stupid protagonist and probably the most insufferable girl to ever come across as a love interest.
I'll try to make this as quick as possible to save your time.
The story is about this boring guy named Yamato who falls in love with this track star Suzuka and pretty much falls head over balls for…

Very short review but here it is.
The characters are interesting but this is one of those anime where it seems that the main character is always in trouble with the female populace.
When it comes to the girl he is pursuing I think it's safe to say that he is a masochist and a glutton for punishment.
The animation would be considered terrible by today's standards but for its time I suppose it was decent.
I like that it is a direct prequel to Fuuka and serves to follow the romance of the generation before.
All in all if, like me, you're a sucker for romance then give it a go.

Ok so this is my first ever review, and with the sequel, Fuuka, just dropping I figured now would be as good a time as any to write a review for this show. *Full disclaimer* The main reason I'm writing this is because Suzuka was the first romance anime I ever had the pleasure of watching. I had been into shounen like DBZ and Naruto for years prior, but freshman year of college was a dark time for myself and I found this anime out of the blue, started watching and instantly fell in love with the premise of the romance/slice of life genre. In short Suzuka got me through an incredibly trying time in my life and was my gateway to the wonderful anime community as a whole and it will forever hold a special place in my heart because of that!
With that out of the way, Suzuka is a lovely romance/…

Overview:
Suzuka is a romantic comedy anime about a quirky doofus who moves into a girl's dormitory run by his aunt. He then develops a crush for an obnoxious and abusive bitch who constantly beats him. So...this is Love Hina right? WRONG! This is something far, FAR worse!
Background:
Romantic comedies have always followed a similar formula. In the Western world this formula was created during the Commedia dell'arte in 1500s Italy. In Act 1 the male and female lead both dislike each other and seem to be opposites. In Act 2 the male and female discover common ground and grow closer together. In Act 3 there is a conflict and the male and female break apart, generally this is due to a misunderstanding. Finally in Act 4 the male and female reconcile and end up together. This is basically t…

Do you long for the days of highschool teenage angst and being a complete moron? Well, good news then, you need help and this anime would fit you. If you are somewhere or anywhere remotely close to being a well adjusted individual then look somewhere else. If you are in that group well, my condolences.
The characters here are completely unlikable and horrendous with no redeeming quality, so much so that you long for a School Days ending to them all. The whole situation here honestly becomes annoying where drama is created for the sake of drama.
You know how much of a shitty anime this is? Both English and Japanese versions have acting that is considered to be completely monotonous, flat and stupid. Doesn't help the situation that they switch from stereo sound to mono.
The music chosen w…
