Plot 10/10
Animation 9/10
Character 10/10
I already got surprised in the first episode, this anime already playing with my emotion, my feeling, and make me think how cruel this world can be to a little child which still so fragile and vurnerable. Along the story I'm really attached at the MC then realize that all the kids here aren't the villain but something called "Generational Trauma", they acr like what their parent treat them, and it's so deeply sad, depressing, and horrifying. I really blessed by the animation, the artstyle is looks so silly, cute, and tragic at once, the character development is so good and intense. This might have some tragic reality plot, but in the end everything's changes to a hearthwarming and happy ending, I really wish for another series but it's already so…

This anime is absolutely amazing, it has an amazing pace and it completely destroyed me.
This anime portrays really well the flaws of the human race and the way the parents bring the children up and how their actions affect the way they behave and how they interact with their peers, it makes you reflect a lot.
The drawings are very interesting and different from most modern series.
It's obviously short because it's 6 episodes but every single episode is a masterpiece and brings up the complexity of human interactions and mind, it explores a lot of themes such as bullying, domestic violence, divorce and every how these situations can affect a child's life.
The story is so unique, absolutely recommended

A devastating anime... It was hard for me to anticipate the amount of pain awaiting me at the beginning of each new episode after the shocking end of the first episode... I was surprised by the heavy themes that a 20-minute episode, featuring an extremely cute, beautiful, and magical art style, was able to discuss...
Themes about death, grief, cruelty, bullying, lethal innocence, and the complex human traits that enable them to develop entangled methods in dealing with their emotions and fears...
This resulted in a viewing experience best described as grim... It is impossible to build any judgment toward any of the story's characters, and you are left with no choice but to direct all your anger toward the amount of selfishness, injustice, and exploitation that caused their shapi…

I was actually having goosebumps watching this. Actually felt my heart getting heavier as every minute of this anime went by, no kidding. The way this anime portrayed reality is something to take note from. This show felt like the more realistic and darker version of Doraemon. The depression I am feeling rn is like something to right home about. Still this is what peak looks like and I don't regret watching Takopi's journey to spread happiness and all the roadblocks that came with it...Definitely a worthy watch if you want to spend some alone time and money with you personal therapist 🫡 Not for the broken-hearted really. Some might say the ending is controversial but even AOT ending is controversial right? So, watch it on your own terms.

This is the saddest most miserable anime I’ve watched. I had to stop and continue watching it about 10 times to be able to get through just 6 episodes. I would say this is definitely not to my taste. every story, every background of the characters we uncovered in just 6 episodes made me depressed more and more.
This is not to say that it’s just sadness for sadness’ sake, because I know people with backgrounds like each and every one of the characters depicted here, and because I found myself a bit in Shizuka because I was bullied when I was little.
What I couldn’t stand most of all is the grand observer, the Takopi in the title. this doraemon like character got on my nerves in most of the episodes.
3/10 - this was just not for me

I decided to watch the anime because a friend recommended it to me, already expecting it to be a shock-value series. The main problem is that shock value is really all it has to offer.
Story (2/10):
It has a confusing narrative involving time travel and very poorly explained flashbacks. I even had to rewatch one of the episodes just to understand the timeline and what was actually happening.
Characters (6/10):
The characters are generally boring. However, I gave them some slack since it’s very difficult to properly develop or relate to any of them in just six episodes.
Animation (8/10) & Sound (2/10):
It features excellent animation, easily some of the best visual work I’ve seen in an anime. On the other hand, the sound design and soundtrack were completely forgettable, to the point whe…

I spent approximately 2 hours and 38 minutes watching this, and honestly... what the hell was wrong with that entire town?
I understand that the story is supposed to be tragic and show how children can suffer because of the problems created by the adults around them, but at some point I just started wondering how absolutely nobody noticed what was happening. How can every single adult be this useless?
These children were clearly dealing with serious problems at home and at school, and somehow no one thought that maybe something should be done. The parents were a complete disaster, the adults around them were useless, and apparently the entire town collectively decided to ignore several children crying for help.
The story is undeniably heavy, and I can understand why so many people love it,…

Drama anime seem to exist in a world their own, people judge them through a lens that is entirely divorced from being applied anywhere else. Most of the highly rated drama anime I've seen have been excessively melodramatic, trite and incredibly unbelievable. Takopi here borrows from a lot of the same building blocks, that being a small cast, absurdly depressing backstories and current events, and does it all in a way where I'm not constantly wanting to gouge my eyes out of embarrassment. The art direction is superb, the music and sound design I have zero complaints with and as a whole I am very happy with the entire production. This is a fresh story with so much love palpable, it's getting me back into anime after years of watching one a year.

Anyone can have a child; not everyone can be a parent, or vice versa. Every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child.
The OST is perfectly fitting, contrasting naive joy against brutal reality in a way that really makes you feel that eerie sense of unease at pivotal moments. The visuals are stunning, with bright and vivid colors being contrasted against the gritty and dirty realities in which these characters live
Takopi's original sin is really about how harmful parenting can affect kids and how abuse can repeat through generations. The story is tough to watch because it deals with real issues like parental, emotional, and physical abuse. The trigger warning before each episode is there for a reason—this show is intense and shows some of the darkest sides of peopl…

I'll Always Make You Smile
Genuine question, but how do people recover from this?
I love stories that crush my soul so much, but I'll never not hate how much I cry by the end of them.
On the surface, I love how the tone of this show can be both happy and depressing. It juggles both of these themes with a lot of childish manners and maturity, and that's not to say the childish way the anime handles its themes is bad, it's s quite the opposite. I'm not sure how to explain it, because it's better to see it to believe it. And lastly, every frame of this journey is gorgeous. Even during the darkest of moments, you see beauty before you.
Now onto the deeper meaning behind why I loved Takopi's Original Sin.
Takopi's Original Sin is a story based around lots of viewpoints on life. People who…

The world isn’t black and white — it’s all shades of gray.
This anime explores that idea really well, showing that good and evil aren’t absolute, but rather the result of causes and consequences.
What impressed me the most was how it avoided the simple “good guy vs. bad guy” formula. Instead, it handles heavy themes with surprising delicacy while showing their real impact. The contrast between its melancholic world and characters, and Takopi’s bright and cheerful presence, fits perfectly with the story’s message.
Without getting into spoilers, at its core, it’s about how people shape — and sometimes hurt — each other. The animation is beautiful and full of life, with a natural tone that I really enjoyed. The soundtrack is excellent, and the pacing is one of its strongest points,…

Takopii's Original Sin is one of the most chaotic and emotionally exhausting stories I've experienced, and that's exactly what makes it so unique. It doesn't try to paint its characters as heroes or villains. Almost everyone exists in a morally grey space, shaped by trauma, circumstances, and the choices they make. There is no clear "good" or "bad"... just people trying, failing, hurting others, and living with the consequences.
The story can feel unpredictable despite its constant sense of dread. Even when certain outcomes seem inevitable, the journey is what keeps it engaging. Every episode adds another layer to its characters, making it difficult to completely hate or fully support them. Strangely enough, the only characters I genuinely disliked were the parents. More than anyone else,…

An extremely sad anime, probably the saddest thing I have ever watched in my life -> be very careful, you shouldn't watch it if you're going through some difficult times!!!
I'm conflicted: on the one hand it's probably well made it achieves what it wants to achieve and can describe well some harsh realities that exist in our world, but as I just mentioned, it's just too sad and maybe 6 episodes to achieve this are too many. Not sure.

The optimistic alien Takopi helps out the bullied Shizuka in order to have a happy life. However with Takopi’s innocence and naiveness, it becomes difficult for him to spread happiness as he’s stuck in a world of misery, agony and despair, leading him to suffer. Because of his innocence and naiveness, he has difficulty in understanding the situation despite his good intentions, not noticing how severe and complex the problems occurring to the three human children are.
We see all three human protagonists (Shizuka, Marina and Azuma) suffering from parental neglect and abuse (physical and psychological), negatively affecting three of them, especially Marina and Shizuka, leading to a cycle of violence, specifically generational violence and trauma. It shows how a child could become like their…

It took me a while after watching Takopi to really gather my thoughts and articulate why it was so impactful to me. Underneath every theme and philosophy you can find conveyed, I believe the core thesis of this story is to try. The circumstances remained the same, the only difference was a single act of positive intervention. Someone tried.
Takopi's Original Sin perfectly showed how everyone is a product of their environment. Love breeds love, hate breeds hate, and trauma breeds trauma. These kids were being raised by parents who weren't who they ought to have been, but were trying their hardest, and their hardest wasn't enough. Anxious parents raise anxious kids, dishonest parents raise dishonest kids, angry parents raise angry kids. Takopi shows how trauma is passed from one generation…

What a fantastic series Takopi's Original Sin is. Where to start? The opening does a great job at showing Takopi's whimsical attitude and approach, as well as the kids' messed up home lives. It doesn't come close to revealing how tragic and heartwrenching the story gets at times, but was great to listen to each episode.
I freakin' love the artstyle. Works very well with fun and cheerful moments, but is surprisingly effective for the serious and shocking moments. If anything, it makes them more impactful since despite how you might assume otherwise, the series does not pull punches in showcasing abuse and the effects it has on people, particularly children.
As for the characters, Takopi's interesting since he contrasts so heavily with the serious and sad children he interacts with, nota…

Actually insane. I've never actually really felt proper feelings watching an Anime before literally each episode had my jaw on the floor mate some of those scenes had me nearly shouting at my screen and waking up the whole house. Only 6 episodes watched it all in one night not recommended to go through every single emotion in less than 4 hours then try and get a nights rest actually ridiculous. If your on the fence for watching this go watch the first idk 15 minutes of the first episode and you'll probably be find out if you wanna watch it or not then. Seen some brain dead takes about how Shizuka is at fault and a "Manipulator" might be the most Retarded take of all time I highly doubt Shizuka Could even spell that let alone knowing try and Evilly Manipulate Azuma into taking the fall for…

The first two episodes were truly captivating but I feel like it went off the rails soon after -- leaving me with mixed feelings.
I give it plus points in terms of unique premise and unpredictable plot twists but the ending felt rushed and unsatisfactory. I didn't feel they resolved it fairly. Everything was just suddenly somewhat okay.
So I really don't know what to say. It's like it's good and not so good at the same time.
I did enjoy some parts of it but I'm glad it was only 6 episodes coz I would've been angry and wanting my time back if it was longer.

An anime that isn't scared to portray bad AND good victims both in a sympathetic light. Instead of putting them in boxes, it aims to humanize how these kids can react to trauma differently. They always aren't exactly the helpless and depressing ones but they can be also spiteful and punitive. It doesn't want to paint anyone who's the better person handling the trauma, but it encourages for the kids to support each other instead because they can understand each other with the pain they are going through. I like the take of Takopi being the symbolism of the children's innocence, the part of them that years for rainbows, sun shines, friendships, and the ignorance of suffering. It's a jarring anime for sure, but it has a lot to say about not just trauma and abuse but also the challenges of get…

This is 4/177 of trying to watch every single Time Travel anime on MAL
This show was interesting, this is the first show I decided to watch after confirming I wanted to try and watch every time travel anime on MAL, what I originally thought was going to be a nice short series to get through ended up turning into something completely unexpected.
What It's About
-------------------
This show is about an alien from a foreign planet named Takopii who's goal is to make a girl named Shizuka happy, what Takopii doesn't know, however, is that Shizuka is being abused by both her parents and her classmate, Marina. Takopii then sets out on a goal to make Shizuka happy, but it ends up causing some trouble.
What I Liked
----------------
This show deals with abuse, and in a very unique and realistic…
