Farming Life in Another World

Farming Life in Another World

Introduction

During the final years of his life, Hiraku Machio remained confined to a hospital bed with a terminal illness until he finally passed away. Taking pity on the unfair life he lived, a god decides to reincarnate Hiraku in another world where he can live as he pleases. Wanting to try farming in this new life, he is bestowed with an all-in-one "Almighty Farming Tool" that can transform into any useful implement he wishes. Hiraku is then transported to a forest seemingly far from civilization. Here, he plans to build and farm everything from scratch—gradually developing the lifeless area into a thriving new society. If you look into the history of this one, you'll find it originated as a very adult-themed harem light novel where hundreds of girls swarm to the main character because his seemingly tireless body is created by a god, so he's an exploitable source of divine progeny. This also has a toned-down manga adaptation that made it much less spicy, while the anime surprisingly strips out the adult themes entirely. It ends up in a curious place as a wholesome, relaxed farming/town building story. However, it still follows the same setup, and might leave you wondering if there's more to a scene than they just portrayed... and yes, there originally was.

This show suffers greatly from what a LOT of generic Isekai (and especially "village building") shows suffer from, which is a narration driven "plot" that is essentially just a chain of events tied together and relayed matter-of-factly to the audience. The whole anime is essentially just one big voiceover of: "Month 1: I did [this]. Month 2: [that] happened. Month 3: I met [character]" The characters in this show do not have personality either, they exist to go: "woooow MC, I don't know what cooking is. please explain to ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶a̶u̶d̶i̶e̶n̶c̶e̶ me how a fire works!" "wooooow MC, you're so strong" "woooooow MC, I want your babies" An interesting tidbit about this anime is that you could give any dialogue from any one character to another and it would still fit. They're entirely interchan…

The show’s title is very promising and relaxing, yet the story is very illogical. The god in the story is a stupid moron who doesn’t even know what he is doing. Such a portrayal is fine for entertainment, but not for worldbuilding. The girls in the story only have two brain cells. The MC’s knowledge is somewhat interesting, but it is made worthless by the stupid worldbuilding. When I watched this story, all I could think was, “That makes no sense,” or, “How the hell does that make sense?” For good worldbuilding, a story needs solid ontological, metaphysical, and physical mechanics, but this story lacks all of them. The god who made the cosmos is portrayed as an ignorant creature who doesn’t know what he is supposed to do. In this story, magic is just magic, nothing more. There is no cons…

Reborn to be cozy and farm whatever the hell I want. 6/10 TL:DR; I want to give this a 7 just because I like it, but it's a very solid 6. It passes the vibe check with flying colors, and even though it ends up being one guy and dozens of women in a village, it never feels unnecessarily risque. It's a wholesome junk food for the soul: no life-changing adventure, no deep character progression, just farming and fun. The Review: Our MC is one of the most deserving in the isekai realm - a sickly paraplegic that just wants to farm. The bit about his OP gift from god is pretty funny and carries well throughout the series. Our protag proceeds to, well, farm. He meets new friends, tames beasts, and makes a little home in a dangerous forest. And really, that's about it. This series knows what it…

There are no characters, there is no plot, there is no slice of anything, there is no dialogue, there is no romance there is no power fantasy, there is no comfiness. There is not even nothing. This anime is tantamount to white static noise; to the degree anything has a pretense of existing is equivalent to a stock photo of whatever that thing is supposed to be. I would recommend this show only to a caretaker so they can sit their autistic drooling wheelchair-bound dependent in front of the screen hypnotically glazed into a world vapid and boring enough to not trigger any neurons firing. There is either a conspiracy, tech error, or a sociological emergency worth academic investigation, on why the average score is as high as it is.

"Isekai Nonbiri Nouka" A Masterclass in Conflict-Free Comfort If you have ever wondered what it would look like to take Stardew Valley, strip it of its emotional depth, interpersonal nuance, and gameplay challenge, and then pump it full of inexplicably devoted women, Isekai Nonbiri Nouka might be just the relaxing viewing experience you did not know you were not looking for. The story follows our hero an aggressively unbothered man who is generously gifted a second life where struggle is apparently a myth. In this alternate world, he builds a farm with the kind of ease that would make real farmers cry. Tools? Mastered instantly. Resources? Always plentiful. Consequences? Never heard of them. Conflict? Lets not be rash. Female characters, in a touching homage to furniture, arrive with al…

This anime is a cozy isekai about a man named Hiraku that gets isekai’d into the middle of a large uninhabited forest with super farming abilities. The story follows the progression of him and his village. It starts out with him figuring out the basics of how to live in the wilderness with only animals for company. However, slowly more and more people become residents of the village, the vast majority of them cute girls. In turn, the village has to deal with all sorts of things, such as building housing, ensuring a food supply, establishing relations with neighbors, etc. The anime never gets too serious. The abilities that Hiraku got have a lot of utility in terms of letting him easily build up and maintain the village. Thus, there’s never really any danger of famine or disease or anythin…

Overview: I don't think I've ever been more neutral about a show than this one. Plot: Guy lives awful life that is very briefly summarized. Betrayal, bed ridden, dies. He's reincarnated to another world, and, as a reward for his horrid existence gets choices. He gets to pick where he wants to be and he gets to choose what he wants to do. He wants a quiet place away from other and he wants to farm. So he gets the "Divine Farming Tool" (See: handheld item that turns into anything he so desires, farming implement wise, and also has a billion magic powers. Spoiler: it also can be used as a weapon in certain situations). He's placed into a deep, deep forest to be away from people. You learn this deep, deep forest is actually in the middle of a deadly forest filled with deadly creatures that ev…

Many people might consider this anime to be just ordinary in terms of graphics, story, music, etc., but for some reason, i find that the story might not be very unique and feels somewhat predictable. However, that doesn’t diminish my enjoyment. I had already read the manga long before the anime aired, so I have a strong emotional connection to the story. While many might consider the graphics ordinary, I feel that the art style fits well with the narrative. For some reason, I still find beauty in its visuals. I believe the characters are quite complex, having both strengths and flaws. They aren’t just strong or smart; they possess traits that make them feel more human and relatable. I see that the characters react realistically to various situations. This authenticity helps me connect more…

I randomly came across Isekai Nonbiri and decided to check it out. It turned out to be way better than I expected. The art and animation are decent, though there are a bit too many characters to keep track of. However, the cuteness of this isekai stands out and makes it very different from what you'd normally expect in the genre. The story follows a typical isekai premise, but it takes a refreshing turn with its lighthearted and adorable approach. The characters are charming and bring a sense of warmth and relaxation, which is a nice change from the usual high-stakes adventures and intense battles often found in isekai anime. The animation quality is solid, with vibrant colors and fluid movements that bring the world to life. Despite the large cast, each character has a distinct personal…

Mold should grow on you watching this show. What a terrible, bland and pointless show that was. Even for those of us perfectly fine with a slow and peaceful anime, this one could represent a bit of a challenge of sort. The first issue here is that you will learn nothing. There is outrageously and absolutely nothing to learn from this anime - even from its main theme alone - starting at episode 1 till it ends. The second issue is that while you will learn nothing about farming, you will instead learn that you can blatantly reused others shows ideas, and what's more, without making anything of it. This ought to be the least creative a show can be. If you're still bend to watch this show, keep it up. Maybe you could find something to see for yourself that I just couldn't. There are *actually*…

SEASONAL ISEKAI, LET'S GO!!! Thanks papa anime, I'll just slurp up the low effort media right now. It's not bad, but it's also not good. The animation is fluid, but zero flash. The character detail is slightly below average, but the backgrounds are good. Characters are likeable, but the same average characters you'd find anywhere else. Little to no depth, but hEy! ThEy GeT uP tO sOmE hIjInKs! The story is... or rather isn't. It just isn't. The story is barren and directionless, but seems pretty consistent at the very least. Pacing is fair, never exciting, but enough to some how keep this show from getting boring. Voice acting is bad. It's has average at best casting, but the performances are dead at times and generally uninspiring. The soundtrack is actually good! Unfortunately the op and…

---Original language: Portuguese--- ---Additional language: English--- English: I would say that if you just want an anime to relax and that has a slightly "different" theme, this anime becomes perfect. A farmer's isekai, say it's a style of anime that the viewer watches and then forgets, with no pretense of waiting for a second season and the like Anyway, a comedy anime rarely pleases me, this one until it was average, other than that I have nothing to comment Maybe the lack of conflict or action might be a problem for me, but that's not the focus of the anime So, anime 6/10 in my honest opinion PT - BR: Diria que se você apenas quer um anime para relaxar e que tenha um tema um pouco "diferente", esse anime se torna perfeito. Um isekai de fazendeiro, diia que é um estilo de anime que o…

tl;dr the "best" bad isekai you could ask for. 4.99/10, I may be giving this an average rating but that doesn't mean that the show is awful. In fact if you watch a lot of isekai in general you won't want to skip this show. It's a decent enough generic SOL isekai, still leagues ahead of the real ass-tier ones like 8th son, smartphone isekai, harem labryinth isekai (if you haven't seen those don't bother, I gave them a 1/10). But unfortunately it still hits all the tropes of trash-tier isekai and doesn't have the quality or engagement to separate it from worse isekais especially as the season progresses and the harem grows larger. Speaking of which, the three pillars: OP MC? Yes. Undoubtedly OP MC with his omnitool, even all the other characters know he's OP. Tycoon? Maybe. This is probabl…

"The nothing isekai" A show literally filled with nothingness. It borrows some ideas from various other shows, then does nothing with them. First up of course is the farming aspect, since it's already right there in the title. Well, it's just as interesting as one wave of the hand with a magical "All-purpose Farming Tool", then pretending you actually did some work. Nothingness incarnate. Then for another example, it pretends to have a harem aspect at first, with tons of different races and personalities for the waifus-to-be, directly talking about how they need to repopulate their tribes and stuff, then we just see the MC complain about being the only man in the village and seek ways to bring other men in and do nothing of the situation. The whole topic is completely avoided for the m…

This is a wholesome feel good MASTERPIECE. If you have a chronic condition or illness and you like isekai this will especially hit you in the feels. Main guy who was sick his whole life gets reincarnated into a fantasy world with a healthy body and uses his knowledge from TV in the hospital to live out his farming/homesteading dreams. The art is beautiful. The shimmer on things, the details of the crops, the character designs and variety, the action scenes, the monsters, everything about this show is top tier. This show is mostly wholesome slice of life in a fantasy setting with some action sprinkled in. You do not have to enjoy slice of life to enjoy this, as long as you love the fantasy elements. Vice versa, you do not need to like fantasy to enjoy the slice of life moments. There…

This is one of most laidback anime ever. it's rare to see this isekai anime with very laidback story progression and character development. i was dumbfounded that this anime truly relaxing to watch. at first episode my mind thought gonna be isekai with the most action with farming related, actually it's the opposite. a lot of farming and village with a lot of character coming to the village. after finishing this anime, this surely the most character progression anime so far. (for me) absolutely recommended for those who want to watch relaxing and with less action anime. good for chilling and watch together. 10/10

I was spoiled by farming Slice-of-Life anime that was much better than this excuse of entertainment title. This one has almost nothing, the protag is doing nothing but farming, no crop failures nor is he uninitiated in certain activity, just nothing and he is going nowhere outside the ditch marking the village boundary. In that it reminds me of The Sims 1, in which the game is entirely within a household. No spontaneous contest to break the monotony, no survey of fellow villagers in difficulty, just nothing. The nothing-burger don't stop there, camera don't even cut to outside of the village until halfway through the series, when it did the scene was a token visual confirmation of Quest-Completed screen. No other show is going so token patronizing about its story line, let alone story-lin…

“How can a show which is 80% monologue be interesting?” There were two farming Simulator Anime that were airing this season(:p), THis one was an underdog and frankly after the terrible reception of a similar show last season, there wasnt much to expect from this. Still, one of my friends who is a dirty disgusting scumbag isekai lover basically my homie, read the manga of this show and insisted this one could be a good watch hence I knew Its worth a look. The slice-of-life formula is there and it follows the footsteps of slime. The focus of slime was more on power fantasy however and here it is more about the harem than anything else , so much so that except for a dog and some dwarves and a couple of kids, every godamn resident of the village that our main protag is in is a ripe and juicy…

Oh god, here we go again with another Isekai/fantasy show, only this time, try to guess what it is imitating from the real world: that's right, Stardew Valley, or more appropriately, Rune Factory. Well, I mean, for a title like lone novelist Kinosuke Naito's Isekai Nonbiri Nouka a.k.a Farming Life in Another World, the idea of getting a headstart if you're a rather new author trying to nitpick about what has NOT come out of the overly saturated Isekai/fantasy genres in the past decade. Unfortunately, this being a Syosetu title that has been launched since the very tail end of 2016 and earning as much as 14 volumes of content (as if the time of this review) in the few years since its serialization to now, I really question myself: is it THIS easy to hardsell to Japanese manga/novel compani…
