This anime won my best action anime of 2024 and surprised me.
Failure Frame is funny. If this show had been done by A-1 Pictures, the studio behind Solo Leveling, or Madhouse, it would have easily been one of the biggest anime of the year. It wouldn't have even been close. It would've been a landslide.
But because of the ridiculous amount of CGI and the fact that they clearly went cheap with the animation, Failure Frame ended up flying under the radar and getting attacked by a lot of people. But the truth is now coming out and people are realizing how good of a show this really is.
I'm going to cover three major points quickly, because these are really the key reasons why you should watch this show and why it's slowly become somewhat of a cult classic. Over the last year or so, I've st…

I don't understand why people don't like this anime. In my opinion, this anime has an interesting story, unlike “Arifureta.” It's important to note that every anime has its own uniqueness and its own fans.
I think if you’re just an anime enthusiast, it’s better to enjoy the anime for its storyline or animation quality. If you feel it doesn’t align with your preferences, I suggest watching another anime.
We should appreciate the people who created the storyline and the people who made this anime, because in my opinion, this anime with its “isekai & superpower” theme is very interesting. It's no wonder that many anime don't get a second season just because they get low scores and bad reviews from you guys.
What makes it appealing is its animation and color composition, even using CGI tech…

Failure Frame
The Name says everything!
Animation
The animation quality is appalling to say the least. The close up during conversation is not bad, but as soon as there is the slightest pan-out occurs the quality goes down the drain and it looks like a low quality Final Fantasy animation style. Along with bulky unrefined movement from all characters and living beings the art style is also completely different.
Story
The anime lacks content. This was set-up to have the possibility to be a top ranked revenge anime, but fell short. The premise that the anime has set on is lacking depth. It is a straight line from beginning to the middle and stops. There is a second season needed to be able to complete the anime, but the first season lacked character building and needs to adjust the power s…

I love this anime.
I love isekais where the MC is smart and makes sensible decisions with a clear ambitious goal in mind, and you know he's going to reach it because of his undying resolve.
If you are not going to like this, it' going to be because of animation or maybe you just hate isekais that are serious, then I suggest you go watch "that time I reincarnated into a vending machine".
Seriously, how do you not like this? How can you call this trash isekai? Personally, I would call trash all the mainstream high rated bullshit. Honestly, just sort animes from lowest evaluation first, because people on this site vote after watching 1 episode and deciding "this is not cool, I didn't see a naked underage girl in the first 10 minutes of the show, 3/10”.

Man, I have no idea how to rate this. The show is your typical trash isekai with cartoonishly evil characters, a revenge plot, edgy protagonist, fanservice, etc. On top of that, it has heavy use of CGI which makes some scenes look like a video game sometimes. By all intents and purposes I should have dropped it after an episode or 2.
But I kept watching, and didn't want to stop. I'm not sure if I was just starved for some power fantasy story, but it hit all the right notes. I mean, I really didn't like any part with the classmates. They had no personalities, and were very boring to watch. That was a small part though. The main character was a lot of fun to watch. Yeah, they are some edgy protagonist that constantly tells us he's not a good guy, but I couldn't always predict how things wou…

A whole class isekai type where everyone gets transported by a goddess in a world to fight the demon king or whom. Everyone has a rank and are considered heros there, with typical isekai game mechanics.
SHORT SUMMARY REVIEW:
Story: 4 -- Bottom tier thrash isekai story that is not presented well (fast paced like crazy, feels like you're teleported to scenes, even when they should have been consecutive ones from the same action) and seems to be cut so much out of it that it just doesn't make any sense. And then it tries to take itself seriously... maybe that was the joke all along?
Art: 3 -- Mixing 2D with 3D art so much and switching between it, even basic scenes, and then even when you think that they at least save money for some cool fight later, they don't, is a dissapointing experien…

I'm sorry, but why the fuck does this anime have such low rating on this site while trash like Arifureta Season 3 is over 7/10?
I started watching this show not expecting much, having never heard of it, but by the time it ended, I actually wanted to see more. I haven't bothered writing many reviews for a while, but seeing the low rating for this just confused me.
Let's see..
- MC & PARTY -
MC isn't annoying, has a clear goal in mind and is working towards it. He has past trauma that has shaped him and he's working through emotional damage as well. He doesn't even act like a sex pest, unlike the majority of the Isekai/Anime shows, nor does he have a harem of women falling on his dick the moment he enters the room.
The party members are actually not bad. The first girl that joins his par…

This show is objectively bad. It's excessively horny, the animation is mediocre, the plot is generic, and it's got some truly awful CGI. The very premise of the show seems to be in the interest of saving money on fight scenes. So why did I finish it and consider it a pleasant experience? As a connoisseur of isekai trash, I have to say there's something oddly charming about this show. It feels like someone genuinely tried their best, but didn't have the resources to do what they wanted. If you're looking for a way to kill a few hours, there are worse ways to do it than watching this.

Honestly solid show, kinda gives me Shield Hero or maybe Arifureta? but good vibes.
The Plot is a solid 9, very compelling but also simple enough. It doesn't really pretend to be something its not, and is ultimately pretty damn engaging for me at least.
The characters are also surprisingly good, like an 8. There are like 10 different classmate all with interesting personalities, and his main companions are also relatively interesting. I think its super refreshing to have an obvious romantic interest without any harem BS, and doesn't give me will they wont they vibes. Oh and by the way, the protagonist is quite good, with a honestly realistic outlook on life.
now lets talk about a big issue... I am NOT an animation snob, but this show has some really bad CG, not to mention the actual ani…

There is one word that can describe the show: Forced.
I’m gonna stop you now, if you want to enjoy the show and just want something to fill your time, go ahead, it can do that. But if you’re looking for a real good show to talk about, this ain’t it. And you can continue to see why.
The plot? To put it simply, it’s like playing DnD with a lazy DM once every few months with no notes being taken. It’s a Shield Hero/Arifureta despair to victory style wannabe without the proper build up or effort to want to do so. They show his backstory, a forced scene to show his and the class’ behavior, him being abandoned, his despair at that, secret power reveal, and his recovery, all within the first episode.
Not revealing the actual details of the plot, it has the typical popularizing cliches, not the…

I wasn't sure what to expect from Hazurewaku, especially since I was growing tired of the typical isekai formula. However, this anime surprised me with its compelling character development. The protagonist, Touka Mimori, has a relatable and tragic backstory that makes her journey all the more engaging. The antagonist, the goddess Vicius, is incredibly frustrating, but she also serves as a great motivator for Touka's arc. While the anime's action sequences and CGI are admittedly weak, the plot and character development make up for these shortcomings. If you're looking for an isekai with a focus on revenge and personal growth, Hazurewaku is worth checking out.

Basically, the plot is similar to Arifureta, but worse. The first few episodes didn't seem too bad to me, but as the story progresses, it just keeps getting worse. The story is about an isekai where the main protagonist is exiled from the hero's party and thrown into a dangerous dungeon to die, but he discovers he has an overpowered ability that allows him to defeat strong enemies.
Everything in this story is highly predictable, as you would expect from a typical isekai anime.
In an isekai, you usually expect a generic plot but hope for good side characters, interesting designs, exciting fights, or at least some funny moments. Unfortunately, this anime has none of that.
I would only recommend this if you're really addicted to overpowered protagonists.

This anime had so much potential, but wow, it really dropped the ball. The story itself is somewhat unique, but it can be predictable at times. While I usually enjoy this genre and setup, the execution here really dragged it down.
As for the art style, it doesn’t fit the story at all. The CGI is just plain awful, and the random switches to 3D animation are super confusing, which totally kills the vibe!
The characters are another weak point. While they have some interesting traits, they often come off as flat, lacking the depth needed to feel well-rounded. They have strengths and weaknesses, but they also veer into being unusually strong or stupid at times, which feels unrealistic.
Speaking of realism, the characters’ reactions to events often feel off. Instead of being relatable, their…

I am honestly a bit surprised how much hype I have been hearing about this as it entered into its final weeks of airing. From the start with this anime, I absolutely loathed this one. The first episode showed some promise. It has every Isekai trope in the book, but it made for an entertaining setup. After that is when it really lost its main redeeming element. It’s animation.
Budgetary reason or not, the 3D animated models looked dismal, there’s no other way to slice it. To make matters worse it switched so rapidly between the 2D and 3D animation that it made the poor visuals look even worse.
That is what the problem was. The story was too much like “From Commonplace to World’s Strongest” to where why wouldnt’ you just watch that, or it’s many similar shows. The writers had no ideas. No…

What if the weakest guy was actually the strongest? What if the least cool loser became the strongest due to his special ability? What if they made Arifureta again?
Weakest Hero with Low-Tier Shitty Skills answers those questions. And also answers:
What if Arifureta had even worse CGI? What if Arifureta had an even uglier color palette? What if Arifureta was just, like, overall less fun?
This is one of the most self-indulgent isekai LN adaptations ever produced. An absolutely unironic entry in a genre that’s impossible to take seriously. And (for a minute) almost beat for beat an Arifureta clone.
The MC’s whole class is isekaied (like in Arifureta), and his goal is to kill a god (like in Arifureta), who was… mean to him and also tried to kill him by sending him to the depths of a dunge…

If I had to summarize my thoughts in one sentence, it would be: This anime fucking sucks, I got mild enjoyment out of it.
Ohh boyy this will be a short one, thank god.
The Good: It's a cheap revenge porn ahh isekai. The MC is logical, calculating, merciless, and extremely goal oriented. The side characters are a nice touch, nice chemistry between them, none of them are annoying retards that and make me want to castrate myself. The plot is barebones, but it works; the pacing in on point.
The Bad: The anime is so hideous, it actually made me want to skip the 'fight' scenes. The monster designs might look great on a manga panel, but it looks absolutely dogshit in CGI form. The MC is absolutely OP in the worst way possible, fights are ended in a couple words, regardless of the opponent, 0…

I honestly think there are some anime out there who have some type of special qualities or abilities: failure frame (not gonna spell that long-ass name) is possibly one of the powerhouses in this regard with such a great "what you see is what you get". Every time our lovely protagonist yelled "paralyze" to the enemies, I, too, was paralyzed on sheer horror. Every "poison" made me feel uneasy too, and all his "sleep" made me slowly fall into a peaceful slumber, as if it were directed towards me instead of the character in the same series. Quite powerful anime, isn't it? Failure Frame is quite the case where the overly simplistic premise progresses so but so linearly and predictably that it becomes infuriating. No, I don't mean it's repetitive (though you'd be correct even in that case). It'…

Failure Frame is an interesting one for me. A Fantasy Isekai show, it's incredibly derivative in it's ideas and execution, has some absolutely horrendous 3D scene transitional animation that breaks any immersion whatsoever, laughable caricature villain antagonists (You don't have to like all your classmates, but come on!), but despite all that, I dunno, the show was still kinda fun this time *shrugs*... Friday mid-morning, come home after milking my cows and then proceed to chuck on an episode of Failure Frame. Goddamn, Friday was a great day for seasonal anime this time around. Failure Frame in the morning, palette cleanser Giji Harem in the evening right after some odd farm jobs, and then finish it off with the "sophisticated" Gimai Seikatsu, almost feel like I have to dress up nicely fo…

One of the best story lines in isekai genre with MC getting revenge, unlike traditional story lines where there is a righteous man doing everything according to rule book and saving everyone from clutches, these follows a different route, where MC is ruthless, hardcore and goal oriented. I loved all the supporting characters in MC group, there are no irritating characters who trouble MC.
If only they had a better budget for animation and stuff, this would have been great, i have to applaud the writer's imagination for creating such monsters, those are just absurd to look at.
Finally, i enjoyed this a lot, I hope we get to see season 2 with better animation.
Total worthy anime, goes to my top isekai anime list easily.

Failure Frame is a rather apt title for this series because it is a failure on nearly every level. This is an affront to everything holy about this medium. Poor and edgy writing for the sake of being edgy, the worst production values of the year and an inferior version of Arifureta’s premise. I mean seriously, it’s one thing to have a generic revenge story set up, it’s another to have horrible production quality with it. Like pick a struggle. This was bad and really the only redeeming quality it had was Seras, who funny enough was my only reason for being interested in the Light Novels as well when I’d see them in the store. Unless you just want to see some really awful animation or for some God forsaken reason enjoy rapey characters, this is one you can safely pass on.
There’s no nice wa…
