I'm genuinely confused how an anime like this gets scored the way it does. The only logical answer is Mushoku Tensei fanboys rioting because this anime is simply it but better in every way. Funny how the main character not lusting after every child somehow leads to lower scoring.
The story is very interesting, diverting from bog standard isekai where some loser neet dies and reincarnates with a bunch of overpowered abilities. Here we have a tyrant warrior king essentially being given a second chance, with much of the anime featuring a voiceover from his past self. It's a very interesting dynamic and gives actual reasoning behind him being a skilled warrior.
Every ounce of power the main character has feels earned, and he is constantly humbled by characters more powerful than he is. It's…

Even if you ignore the animation. The story is awful, they changed so much to make thing fix and cut out a lot of important scenes. The parts they did use where also cut short removing context and character development making events seem meaningless or outright pointless. Training is skipped or shortcut, whole world concepts are only mentioned and never explained in any kind of detail. abilities that are only found through training and hard work are basically given to him on a plate. its stupid and breaks the viewers image of the main character. then there the odd added details that make no sense. Trying to keep this spoiler free so wont go into specific examples but it makes the character look like he contradicts himself more than often.
I'm mad mainly because I love this story and its c…

I’ve never left a comment on here before because I’ve never felt this strongly opposed to the majority opinion, but I genuinely do not understand a lot of the negative comments about this anime.
The biggest thing I don’t understand is the criticism of the animation. I keep seeing people talk about it as if the entire thing is basically a PowerPoint presentation, and I honestly just don’t see that at all. The animation is perfectly fine. It’s no better or worse than a lot of other anime currently being released, so the level of criticism it’s getting feels completely disproportionate to me.
The story itself is also pretty good. It’s definitely a slow burner, and I do wish season one had been given a full 24 episodes because that would have given the story much more room to breathe. There…

It is great isekai anime but let me first address massive review-bombing first.
We can divide them into two groups, occasionally overlapping.
1) Unholy Templars of True Copy. Unless something is 1:1 image of the source, it needs to be exorcised! Annihilated. Review-bombed!
This anime shows perhaps 1/3 of the source material. Would it be better if a better studio could afford 25 episodes instead of 12? Probably. But with you youngsters having like 10 seconds attention span, I can understand their reluctance to risk.
2) Beautiful Empty Shells. They keep boks because they have pretty cover and letters. They review their food based on rarity of the plate. Creatures so hollow and dumb that they hate substance and appreciate form only. Your actions and perosnality is irrelevant. Your cloths are…

This anime is the perfect definition of "waste of time." There's usually at least one reason to watch an anime, but this one has none.
Is it funny? No.
Is it entertaining? No.
Does it have good technical/artistic features? No.
Does it have any new or interesting situations? No.
Does it have a good story or characters? Absolutely not.
All I can say to anyone who wants to watch it and is reading reviews to get an idea is: Don't do it, think of something else to do with those 3-4 hours... And probably anything you can think of, even the stupidest one, will be much better than wasting your time with this anime.

This show is just Mushoku Tensei: Another One. I'm a huge fan of Mushoku Tensei, so this gets two thumbs up from me!
Instead of being reincarnated as a 34 year old NEET, our MC was originally an ultra-powerful king from an advanced world. The goal of his reincarnation seems to be to learn not to be such a massive tyrant. It's... not the greatest setup and I'm sure we'll get into the territory of "if you kill your enemies, they win" eventually, but isekai almost never really have a particularly good hook from the original world. At the very least, our MC has a much more confident personality than Rudeus Greyrat, so that's nice.
Otherwise, it's rather shocking how similar this show is to Mushoku Tensei. The MC learns to use magic from a young age by using books. He blows up the house acci…

I Loved this so much that I immediately searched for Turteme's website to get the rest of the story. And here is why:
Let me start by giving you some context on my perspective. I love Isekai. I love Fantasy. So a story about a reincarnation to a fantasy world was immediately something that I had to watch. Also. I grew up in the times of DBZ so I'm not a super animation buff. Of course I enjoy Solo-Leveling-fight-scenes or Mushoku-Tensei's-S1-breaking-bread level animation but I will not let the lack of budget ruin my experience of a good story.
And TBATE has a great story to tell. Of course there are a lot of gaps. They can't squeeze enough detail and world building in 12 episodes. The only way to properly build a world as complex as TBATES in an anime is to have Naruto Shippuden's 500 e…

As someone who's watched most isekai anime out there, I usually brace myself for another overpowered MC surrounded by a cliché harem. Surprisingly, this anime took a different route. The story builds up gradually and doesn't rely heavily on typical tropes. While it's not entirely unique, it’s executed in a way that feels refreshing.
The art style is clean and complements the tone of the story well—nothing overly flashy, but consistent and immersive. Characters are more grounded than you'd expect; the MC isn’t instantly unbeatable, and side characters feel like they serve a purpose beyond just supporting him. They have believable reactions, and some even show growth across episodes.
If you're tired of rushed, trope-heavy isekai shows, this might be a pleasant surprise. It feels like the k…

I had the same issues with the Anime that I had with the Light Novel. The idea is great, but instead of developing a good plot, the story gets stuck with tedious "romance". I mean, he is * years old in episode 8, and both of them are fixating and acting like they are in love. BS Pedophilia basically because he is an adult mentally, even if he is in a kid's body, so rather than treating the spilled annoying elf character like an equal, he should be treating it like a child. This seems to be an ongoing issue with isekai adventure stories. Anyway, not for me.

As someone who has been reading the sauce for years, I mainly came to this for the refresh and while it was not necessarily bad, its far from good as standalone and worse as adaptation. If you are interested in isekai from baby power fantasy with epic fights, that doesnt lean to heavily into the whole cheat code and has characters that wont irritate you constantly by their decisions, go read it.
The anime itself suffers mostly in animation quality, which was fine for me, someone who isnt new to this.
My main issue was the skipped content of training arc which I could forgive, but the 2-3 years at the end that skipped the whole adventurer arc where we had character progress, making important friends and notorious first enemy is inexcusable.
Secondly, making the baby dragon make mouse squ…

TBATE anime? What are you talking about? There is no such thing as a TBATE anime at all. Overall, I had very high expectations for this anime when it was first announced, especially since this was something that was very highly anticipated outside of Japan. Written by Brandon Lee, known by his alias as TurtleMe. Fans of TBATE have long waited for an anime adaptation of this novel and manhwa. After all, the source material is beloved for its rich storytelling and tightly plotted character growth. But when the first episode was released... it didn't exactly reach those expectations at all, and in fact, they plummeted to the ground. Of course, loads of anime related content creators expressed their complaints about the animation and overall feeling, leaving many hoping that the first episode…

The Beginning After the End is a great manhwa that I stopped reading at chapter 140. It had a nice visual style, interesting characters, and an engaging setting. I really liked it.
A few years after I stopped reading, I somehow forgot about it. Even when I saw the title again, I thought, “Hmm, another isekai?” Then I saw the rating and figured, “Let’s give it a try as a weekly watch.” But from the first episode, I was reminded that this was the manhwa I once read—and I thought, “Wait, wait, wait... what? Such a low rating for something like this?” Even some trash series this season and last have better ratings. Something’s clearly wrong.
So, welcome to my review, where I compare the anime version to the manhwa.
Art:
The manhwa has a distinct and appealing art style. It's a shame that's…

Is the animation trash? Yes.
Is the animation the reason for the show being trash? No.
It's a childish formulaic isekai with your typical character tropes and minimal deviation: we have seen this plot with these characters before a thousand times. This one is the same formula badly executed, and not even fun-bad, just bad-bad.
Bonus rant:
People are saying that the source material is so much better, so I read the webtoon after watching this.
The people were lying.
It doesn't add anything substantial to any of the trash aspects of the show. The plot, the story, the characters, they're all the same. The only thing going for it is that ironically it has more frames than the anime.
It also doesn't help that the longer you read, the less original it becomes, so even if they make an S2 with be…

Wow this show is actually really bad, people are saying like this thing is like best thing in world but in fact, it's not. The number one thing that people complained about is the animation. While I agree the animation is bad but it's just your average isekai anime level of animation. But the thing I want to talk about is the story and the direction. The storyline is mid at best. There's nothing that make this anime unique than others, the power system is average and that it. There's really nothing much going on in this show. The one thing that made me so annoyed is how they do the monologue. The voice of the mc and the body he's in is so contrast that it doesn't sounds good to the ear. In summary, this show is mid. NEXT!

How can anyone give this a score above 4?
You can give 1 point for the fact that there is at least something close to the word "animation". Rarely and barely there is at least some movement so you can't say it's PowerPoint only.
2 points for the voice acting which is the only thing that anime does well and that's it.
Characters and story not existent, the anime could have been shortened to like 8/9/10 episodes and you'd still think it's too long. Not because the aNiMaTiOn is lacking, but because there is no story and character development, nothing is rly happening at all. 2010 CGI also joins in here and there, sceneries empty as hell...
As an anime only this one just sucks and it's a perfect example how not enough givin time can work out, at least I hope that's the reason, otherwise the an…

Is this show on the level of jobless reincarnation? No, of course not, don't be stupid.
Is this show great? No but it's pretty decent pretty good and better than most Reincarnation shows that average 6.7 or 7.1. This show should probably average a 7.3 maybe 7.5 compared to its competition. Why doesn't it? hard to say. I heard there were a lot of expectations for this show, and it absolutely did not deliver, and perhaps it is being punished for that?
I can see its ambition, I can see what it was trying to do, but it didn't quite get there. If you are a big fan of the genre then this could be a good addition or perhaps adequate addition to your shows.
Is this in the top 100 anime no not even close.

If I were to use one word to describe this anime, it would be "bland."
While many have rightfully complained about its subpar animation, The Beginning After the End (TBAtE)'s biggest issues lie in its storytelling. This series' story somehow manages the feat of spanning large stretches of time while also feeling like nothing has happened. This likely stems from how disconnected the events depicted actually are. Rather than having one event be directly caused by previous events, like in a good story, TBAtE instead sets up a series of loosely-related contrivances to get the protagonist from point A to point B.
Another contributor to TBAtE's blandness is its lack of any real stakes or consequences. Arthur, the protagonist, always has someone bail him out of whatever dangerous situation he m…

As an anime only viewer, I can empathize with those who loved the manhwa and felt this was a poor adaptation. Still, I don't understand how this show is hated on so much.
As an anime, the story is great, the fights are fun, and I am enjoying watching it. Why do we compare everything to the greatest animated pieces and say if its not produced like them then it's junk? I figure the only reason this anime is rated so low is because people expect solo leveling animation nowadays from their favorite manhwas. That isn't to say I wished stories like these get the same detail and attention as do shows like jobless.
Anyways for anime only watchers I recommend it. It's a fun isekai with an interesting story. And now I'm gonna dive into the manhwa to have some more fun before cour 2. I'd say this…

The Beginning After the End was one of the most highly anticipated light novel adaptations to come out from outside Japan. Written by Brandon Lee, known by his alias as TurtleMe, this story takes a more careful and genuine approach to Isekai—a genre not typically praised for its strong writing or compelling characters. Boasting one of fantasy’s richest worldbuilding, a meticulously detailed magic system, compelling character-writing, and immersive storytelling, any adaptation—be it manhwa or anime—had some pretty big shoes to fill. After a long wait, the ten-year light novel finally received the anime adaptation the fans have long been waiting for, yet they were not happy.
Given how loved and praised the original light novel and manhwa adaptation was, it begs the question: why did one of…

The Beginning After the End — more like The Beginning OF the End, and the countless memes this has spawned into a massive shitshow since its debut.
"My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined." Of all the things to say about a potential in the making, TheReportOfTheWeek's meme still stands as one quote that never faded away from obscurity, largely because the world has gone to such an extent of "always over-promising and under-delivering" everything that's great and tearing it down like nobody's business, contributing to a well of hatred. And that show happens to be a work that's very beloved and not made in Japan: South Korean-American author Brandon Lee a.k.a TurtleMe and illustrator Fuyuki23's The Beginning After the End (commonly referred to as TBATE for the hardcore fans…
