Yano-kun's Ordinary Days

Yano-kun's Ordinary Days

Introduction

For as long as he can remember, the klutzy Tsuyoshi Yano has been prone to injury. Constantly showing up to school with fresh scrapes and bruises, he has long become accustomed to the pain and to the sight of his face covered in bandages. However, Yano's days begin to change for the better when he is transferred to a new class and meets Kiyoko Yoshida, the class president known for her reliability and kindheartedness. Through Yoshida's efforts to learn more about him, Yano starts to experience the kind of high school life he has always wished for—one filled with laughter and camaraderie. Between casual conversations and countless small accidents, the two gradually grow closer, and their relationship may bloom into something more than just friendship. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days is a decent slice-of-life romance that has some genuinely enjoyable moments but The characters are likeable, especially Yano, whose everyday struggles add some emotional depth to the story. The comedy is occasionally funny. However, the pacing can feel slow, and some parts of the story take longer than necessary to develop. The romance is also fairly predictable, meaning there aren’t many major surprises. While the animation and overall presentation are pleasant, they don’t feel particularly memorable. Overall, Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days is an enjoyable watch with a few strong moments, but its weaknesses keep it from being exceptional. 6/10.

The story follows Yano, a clumsy yet athletic student who often shows up to school with new bruises and wounds. This catches the attention of Yoshida, the class president, who becomes curious about why Yano always arrives in such bad condition. She eventually decides to follow him and discovers that Yano is not getting into trouble. He is simply extremely clumsy despite having a kind and gentle personality. This discovery sparks Yoshida’s interest in Yano, and she starts taking care of him, marking the beginning of Yano’s Ordinary Days. Both characters have a good dynamic, and the development of their feelings feels natural. Their relationship is not rushed, but it also does not feel too slow. The pacing feels just right. From start to finish, the story is very satisfying. The developmen…

Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days embraces the absurdity of everyday life. The series is suggesting that even the most ordinary days can feel unexpectedly meaningful, especially when you spend them with someone who somehow turns ordinary moments into special ones. The story follows Tsuyoshi Yano, a gentle and well-meaning high school student who seems to attract misfortune with almost supernatural consistency. No matter how normal the day begins, something inevitably goes wrong for him. He trips, falls, bumps into things, or ends up in situations that would feel exaggerated in any other story. However, what makes Yano interesting isn’t the accidents themselves, but the way he handles them, with calm acceptance and a strangely unwavering optimism. Among those who begin to notice his constant misfort…

Did you watch Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie and think to yourself, "man, they really underutilized the whole clumsy boy trope," then do I have the show for you. Yano-kun's Ordinary Days is an anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Tamura Yui. I'd probably label it a shojo (and then be beaten to death by shojo elitists). The story centers around the female MC Kiyoko, the class president, who's concern over her classmate Yano grows into affection, then into full fledged romance. Yano is a very clumsy, accident prone boy, who seems to draw misfortune to himself; he always comes to school injured heavily, wearing an eye-patch. Kiyoko's determination to keep him from harm ultimately proves largely ineffectual, but charming and to Yano, very endearing. Yuka Nukui, the actress who pl…

A intresting gimmick for usual school rom com drama . I liked the overall synopsis but it could be better with more love content. Despite of having strong start , it didn't make a strong progress till end . I am noticing that many rom com coming with same art style recently which is pretty good because it makes whole experience wholesome and gives you a warmth feeling. I need some agressive rom com too with same art style. Main pair is attractive, lovable and wholesome but side characters aren't much lovable, they mostly full filled their roles and don't contribute pretty much into main plot line . Decent op , ed and ost doesn't excite me too much . Despite of some flaws , overall cliche is enjoyable and watchable specially because it's not repetitive which literally improved my watching…

BORING. These new romances are only good for checking off bingo. MC posero - bingo, FMC tsundere - bingo, etc. Nothing, absolutely nothing new that I haven't seen before. 12 episodes of pure relationship building, where in the last episode, in the last minute, they confess their love and that's the end, and sometimes not even that. There are tons of anime like this. It's time for a change, something that would finally start from the moment they got together and we could watch the relationship develop, instead of watching them build it over and over again. And the characters? Same thing, the MCs are the same as everywhere else, tsundere. Because if I'm tsundere, I'll always go far. Why is it that in non-romantic anime, the MCs have much better chemistry than in romantic ones, where we have…

Hello there. For those who don't wanna read it all, this anime is meh, at best. I'll talk about its quality, not the enjoyment factor, those are not the same. And this is important because most "reviewers" say stuff like "I liked it, it is a good anime". Yes, you can also like bad media (aka "my guilty pleasure") and thats ok. Just know that it is bad. Lets begin. Visuals. Decent art style. Simplistic but still nice to look at. Decent or nice animation. And thats about it. No particularly good cinematography, decent enough colour palette. Lot of scenes with people blushing or shocked, or focus on the eyes. Audio. Decent sound design. Nice usage of tracks and at appropriate levels. The OP and the ED were on par with the theme of the show. SO that was ok. The VA kinda did was it was intende…

I got exactly what I wanted with this anime, and a little bit more. It's a pretty solid young-and-innocent type of romcom. Yoshida can be awkward at times, but she seems like an accomplished diplomat compared to Yano's hyper-aloof, childlike nature. And yet, both of them are pretty much clueless about love. Every interaction brings them closer, and it leads to positive effects in both of their lives, especially Yano's. Yoshida's worrywart and caring attitude eventually leads to Yano being more aware of the joys of a genuine relationship, and it snowballs from there. They're both quite straightforward and open with each other, aside from the occasional confusion of feelings and internal conflicts caused by overthinking (ah, the privileges of youth!). They also have cartoonish quirks that ma…

I finished Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days with that very specific feeling where you’re not disappointed, but you’re also not particularly moved. It’s like finishing a warm cup of tea that wasn’t strong enough. Pleasant, calm, but it fades quickly. Going in, I already had a sense of what kind of anime this would be, and honestly, if you’ve watched Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, you’ll immediately notice the similarities. This anime feels like a lighter, toned-down version of that formula. Same kind of setup, same kind of charm, just less impact. It’s not trying to reinvent anything, and it very clearly stays in its comfort zone. One thing I genuinely liked was the art style. The simple hand-drawn look, the soft lines, and those slightly retro backgrounds gave it a cozy, almost nostalgic vibe. Th…

Without fear of being wrong, I can say that we are looking at one of the best romances of 2025. Yano-kun doesn't try to innovate in any aspect; it's a classic school romance. One could argue that the fresh element is the male protagonist's condition, but it's not that much of a novelty. Even so, the anime's freshness doesn't lie in its plot but rather in its atmosphere. There's something there that will make you want to watch episode after episode. That something might vary from person to person; for some it will be the voice acting, for others the character design, and for still others the innocence of the romance. Whichever option you choose is valid because the anime truly excels in all these aspects. The character design has something hypnotic about it; it doesn't have anything partic…

(Spanish review on my list) I watched it because I needed an extra anime to watch on the bus after work... and it does the job because it's not awkward to watch in public, but it's a story we've seen countless times in other anime with nothing special about it... It's the same old Japanese romance story with nonexistent personalities; in this case, the guy is completely socially and spatially awkward, and the girl is absent-minded and, for some reason, falls in love with him, but her way of processing things is totally unnatural... And that's pretty much it. It's a cozy series that, if you like the genre and have seen this same pattern a thousand times and still enjoy it, you'll like it, but if you're already fed up with it, well, it'll just be another one of the bunch.

Simple plotline but executed well and still delivers decent enjoyment. the plot was really simple and overall story are pretty laid back and have not much heavy drama. Romance was there but a bit subtle, love the very wholesome friendship. Comedy also nice, bringing a decent good laugh. Graphic are great, scoring are okay, overall production was good. Although it lacks a character depth which I'm not really disappointed bcs this anime is more of a healing anime with light and laid back stories. A decent show I must say, overall i recommend it especially if u're looking for a light story.

"Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi" ended up being a very mixed bag of an anime. While it appears to be your usual run of the mill rom com, it does have a quirky touch that helps it stand out. Yano-kun is an extremely unlucky guy who gets hurt multiple times every single day, which catches the attention of his classmate Yoshida. She makes it her mission to treat his injuries and so a relationship starts to blossom. We see them get closer as friends, which eventually leads to romantic feelings developing between them. As the story progresses, we see Yano start to slowly open up and be integrated into Yoshidas friend circle, as he tends to be scared to involve himself with people due to his tendency to get hurt. The relationship keeps building until there is an awkward, unexpected dual confession,…

It sure is an average (one might say ordinary) high school romcom, huh. I only checked this out because short of a pair of specs, Kiyoko (the FeMC) sounded right up my alley and like is she the greatest class prez/rep there's ever been? I mean obviously fucking not, see my anime list background, pfp, about me, favorite characters list, etc. But she's decent. The problem is she's really the only one that stands out (and even then, that's probably because of my predilections, more "objectively" speaking, it's not like she's particularly well-written compared to the others). The titular Yano-kun is a clumsy boy and feels awful about it and is a heckin' awesome dude who everyone wants to protecc but has brains the size of rocks which... to be honest, that's every character in the show. It…

Kinda disappointing. Not because it's bad, but because it could've been much better. Very similar art style and mood to Aija-do's other recent romance anime, Sign of Affection. A laid-back, sweet, innocent romance anime, heavier on the comedy side. At first it seemed like it's going to be a boring, one dimensional show that's all about Yano being a clumsy, unlucky bastard and the butt of the joke in every scene. Thankfully that was not the case for the rest of the show and the comedy side of the anime became really strong, it stops weaponizing Yano's predisposition to force jokes and starts relying more on less absurd but still silly situations. Gag humor worked way better than Yano getting insanely unlucky for the 213rd time. There was still a big issue early on, which was the lack of r…

RomComs are one of the most populated genres each season. They come in all different forms. Here with Yano-kun's Ordinary Days, the theme that it starts with is a gimmick: Tsuyoshi Yano is prone to getting hurt. I illustrate what many people may be concerned with: will this anime rely on this gimmick too much? Thankfully the anime does not, and it is something it eases with. In fact, what the series really is about is what the title says. It is about Yano's Ordinary Days, or essentially Yano learns how to live for the first time. This aspect the anime does well, and it is quite charming. In fact, what really helps is Yano's dynamic with Kiyoko Yoshida where their relationship becomes more than just her patching up Yano when he gets hurt. How their relationship evolves is really sweet. To…

This show plays to all my favorite things so I think I was bound to like it hehe >w<. It's a fun show overall, nothing necessarily too heavy and drama filled, it's a simple little rom-com with an injury trope! (which is one of my favorite tropes lol). I wasn't intending to watch this series particularly when the season started, and I think I overlooked it at first because it seemed a little *too* slice-y for me (at least for what I wanted to watch at the moment). But I was greatly surprised that while it still is a complete slice of life, it found a way to be quite interesting and enjoyable with the injury trope. I thought it was gonna end up being a little stale and repetitive with how often it was occurring, but I was proven wrong! Somehow, it made perfect sense here and added to the c…

Yano-kun's Ordinary Days - A rom-com disguised under the guise of injury and caretaking? Seems typical, but oh-so-sweet to experience in its innocent form factor. There're many ways to do rom-coms, and anybody can be an expert at it, if the qualities are solid and there's foundation in the makings of a decent story that proves that love is for everyone out there. But in the case of mangaka Yui Tamura's lone work of Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi a.k.a Mr. Yano's Ordinary Days, "ordinary" being the word of choice and focus here, I'd like to focus your attention to a quote from famous philosopher Lao Tzu, that sums this series well in a heartbeat: “I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures”. The first teaching of Simplicity: yo…

Cute, wholesome, no unnecessary drama, two lovable leads who grow as the series goes on, great art and a great supporting cast? Yano-kun’s ordinary days pretty much has everything you could want in a rom com. It was one of my favorite shows this season and made my Tuesdays so much better. Yano and Kiyoko’s romance is so pure and had me squealing/kicking my feet in the air so much. This is a must watch for any romance fan. From the synopsis you might think this show would get repetitive with the gimmick of Yano being injury prone, but it’s actually not overdone and his predisposition ends up actually being a very well explored story beat. As Yano opens up and connects with other people, he stops being so anxious and focusing on his predisposition as much, which stops bad things from happe…
