The Eden of Grisaia

Introduction

Grisaia no Rakuen begins right at the end of the previous installment, Grisaia no Meikyuu. Kazami Yuuji is arrested under suspicion for terrorism. A video showing apparently concrete proof that Yuuji committed these acts, and he is held in custody by Ichigaya. Ichigaya knows full well that Yuuji didn't commit the crimes he has been accused of. But he did fail to assassinate Heath Oslo, who is the leader of the terrorist organization with an extremely devastating weapon in their possession. In fact, Ichigaya have their own plans for Yuuji... But all may not be lost for Yuuji. The girls of the Mihama Academy are not about to let Yuuji be used for political gain, and neither may the mysterious new figure which appears before them.

What a phenomenal and well-crafted anime! Seriously, rewatching this second season, I can understand even better why Grisaia has become such a beloved series. It is a unique anime, one that isn't afraid to tackle heavy themes or break the mold, delivering an experience that goes far beyond what its initial appearance might suggest. Grisaia stands out for its willingness to explore sensitive subjects like depression, suicide, abuse, psychological trauma, and various other difficult issues. For me, that courage to handle such heavy themes was one of the main things that drew me to the franchise. It isn't just a comedy or romance anime featuring cute girls. At times, it pushes its characters into extreme situations and shows the consequences of everything they face. When I think about the…

This Season finally cleared up many of the questions left hanging from the first, and overall felt like a solid improvement. The story was more engaging and gave a deeper look into the characters, making the experience smoother and easier to follow. Some of the cast stood out in a good way, though the MC’s sister, despite being a genius, came across a bit too eccentric at times. While it had its strong moments and wrapped up several mysteries nicely, it still felt like a one-time watch for me. A decent continuation that ties things together without overstaying its welcome.

The first series lacked a cohesive narrative in a possibly interesting world. The special episode between gave the backstory to the protagonist and this series picks up right after that. All the pieces are in place for an interesting conclusion. So why do I consider this to not really be worth the watch? Well... - Story & Theme The protagonist has told his story and the girls at the academy have read most of it. Now he gets accused for a crime and the girls must rescue him. The story is fine for what it is, but it's not anything special. With a greater focus on the girls doing stuff without the protagonist we do get less Gary Stu in the mix (at least at first) but unfortunately there's a Mary Sue Deus Ex Machina that shows up to take over a lot of those duties. The whole show is slathered…

Season 2 follows the main route of the visual novel to its end and honestly, it works. We get more backstory on the MC that is more interesting, albeit still somehow sexualized. It delivers on the character development of all the girls, producing a climax that was peak for this series, including a couple of episodes that were legitimately great. It's still dragged down by the baggage that this series keeps carrying around, though, and it's difficult to give it too much credit in distinguishing itself when it tethers its story to the elements that came before. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a story that's moving from following individual routes through a visual novel to actually telling a cohesive story (especially after this series took so many detours into near-hentai territory), but a…

Grisaia no Rakuen, also known as The Eden of Grisaia, is an anime series that follows the story of Yuuji Kazami, a former assassin who attends Mihama Academy, a school for girls with traumatic pasts. The series is a sequel to Grisaia no Kajitsu and Grisaia no Meikyuu, and it continues the story of Yuuji and the girls of Mihama Academy. The storyline of Grisaia no Rakuen is complex and multi-layered. It delves into the pasts of the characters and explores their emotional traumas and struggles. The series tackles heavy themes such as mental illness, abuse, and the consequences of one's actions. The show's writers skillfully weave together different storylines and character arcs, creating a cohesive and captivating narrative. The animation style of Grisaia no Rakuen is stunning. The charact…

I enjoyed watching Grisaia although not due to it's harem tag which I don't actually see why it's even there as while Yuuji does live with a bunch of girls I wouldn't say they're in his harem. The story it finishes off is concluded decently with what you'd expect for an anime like this, it also provided decent action and drama throughout it which also leaves you satisfied. While not being an anime I'd go out of my way to watch or rewatch later in the future it was still decent for the experience it gave and wouldn't be against not watching it again if I had nothing else to watch.

It's weird. I guess different is a better term for it. Pretty much nothing really made sense, I've felt like the story was made by a 3 years old, then somebody looked at it, made some corrections and decided "yeah, that's good, let's go for it". I've enjoyed it somewhat, it wasn't particularly bad, I had moments where I was asking myself, what am I watching? and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought that. If you are in the mood for something dumb where you could just turn off the brain then go for it! Don't be scared of the harem tag it's not like high school dxd or redo of a healer type harem, it's safe lol

Spoiler-less Review: The Grisaia series, consisting of two anime series and a movie in between, is somewhat different when it comes to harem romance anime. While most harem series tend to follow a rather comedic path, Grisaia approached it in another way and kinda broke that rom-com trend. Now I’m not saying this in a negative sense or something like that. If anything, this fact made this anime worth watching. After watching those stereotypical animes where the girl blushes while fantasizing about in how many ways she can hold her crush’s hand or the tsundere girl just keeps being … well tsundere, it was a nice change of pace to watch yet another harem anime like Grisaia. Now, I’m not saying that Grisaia doesn’t have shy or tsundere girls. It’s a harem anime, so of course, it does. But I…

My most favorite anime and best anime of all time! Season 2 here was so good. I love how in season 1 it was Yuuji going around and helping each girl like individual routes/arcs, now here in season 2 it was the other way around and now it was the harem's turn to help him. My only complaint is that it's only 10 episodes when usually the average is 12 :( but I will not complain, because I'm just happy it got a second season when most good animes in general don't even get a second. I first watched The Grisaia Series back in 2015 as Grisaia no Rakuen was ending. Since then, I've rewatched it over 10 times at least over the years. It was cool seeing Yuuji and Asako's first interactions with each other in the beginning and then showing us how they grew close together and how Yuuji truly grew up u…

(Spoilers) This series as a whole isn't really that entertaining, maybe because of how the anime throws in things that happen really quickly or that I don't know what is happening sometimes. Story 6/10- The first half of the season was more about the past of Yuuji after he meets Asako, and he is taken in by her and is trained by her to learn about sniping I guess and that he makes more friends in a school for training in the army but leaves after sometimes. After what happens to Asako, he chooses to go to the school since he wants to relive his 'youth' and then the second half of the season is where Yuuji is in some trouble with a man named Oslo who had also trained Yuuji before meeting Asako but was left by him when Oslo place had been surrounded by the army I think so the girls in the…

[Review contains minor spoilers read at your own risk] Ever considered how the Eden Of Grisai saved the anime adaptation trilogy for me, if then then stay tuned since I'm about to lay it all on you. Ladies and Gentlemen this is Cyranical's Eden Of Grisai anime review, enjoy everyone. The Eden Of Grisai is the second season of the Fruits Of Grisai, it is the continuation of the Cocoon Of Caprice 0 and it is adapted from the visual novel of the same name. It tells the story of a group of misfit women that take on a entire country and a terrorist organization in order to save the man they love. That's totally the summary of the story everyone, nah but for real tho, it tells the story of Sachi, Amane, Yumiko, Mitchiru and Makina as they try to dig up information on how to retrieve Yuuji…

"The Eden of Grisaia" and the prequel OVA, "The Labyrinth of Grisaia," both struggle from pacing issues from opposite sides of the spectrum — while the prelude to the second series was way too laconic and filled to the brim with edgy, lurid scenes; it was too much to handle all at once, the second series is, well, the opposite of that. It's sluggish and full of textbooks worth of exposition. At the height of my excitement for the continuation, I was underwhelmed by the sheer volume of talking and explanations. —Technical Motoki Tanaka (director): Commentary: From what I have seen of Mr. Tanaka's works, the adaptation of the Grisaia franchise is easily his best work, though the Azur Lane adaptation wasn't bad either! It's difficult to believe that the same man that totally destroyed any…

I writed this on the prequel and going to say the same thing here, if you didn't watch this show, you should watch it, it's fantastic and, even if I'm giving the same score than the prequel, I enjoyed this one even more, they removed a lot of the free fanservice that was there and it felt even better. Like on the prequel everything on this is right, in this case the plot centers over the main character and it's just awesome. The music is great, the art is perfect, the characters are the same but adding some more that also awesome. It's a must watch show, end of the review.

If you watched the first season and the special for this show and think you know what you're in for, think again. This show is balls to the wall insane at this point, but I loved every moment of it. From spending half the season in flashbacks to create a second harem, to coming back to the modern day where it's up to 8 women who are interested in him at one time. You have a 12 year old with a Baretta .50 cal, a maid who makes bombs, and robotic AI trying to control the world. This show just keeps on giving with insane plots, set pieces, yet still managing to make me care about what's happening on screen. The art is interesting enough while it draws your attention to guns, vehicles, or locations. Past that, the characters are all tropes that are slightly subversive to their type, however t…

You are in a running race. As you approach the finish line you are in first, far ahead of your competitors. But right before you get to the finish line you trip. Your victory and your new record is a goner. This is basically the feeling Eden of Grisaia left me with. A would-be masterpiece that just ruins it at the very end just like Charlotte. Just when I first thought I found a masterpiece in a genre called "Harem", a genre often filled with mediocre stories, the ending just had to ruin it all. And it did it not only once, but twice: at the last episode of first season and the last arc (though the latter was a bigger turnaround). Grisaia series is another series that has left me excited while watching. Heck, I finished the entire series within 48 hours of a weekday just because of how e…

First things first. My "reviews" system is explained on a blog entry. Which can be found through my profile. ------ Hmm.. I think here I'll first comment the whole franchise and then move onto this season specific. So the plot is pretty much odd people in odd school with odd background living an odd life. As well pimp of a main guy, that's one hell of a harem he has, womanizer to the core. I won't go into detail, but I'm going to mention mixed feelings this franchise gives me. It is somewhat of "fck yea, Murica" anime with odd Japanese touch. By that I mean the whole military life, strong personalities with somewhat loose moral sense. Here I mean sex was something I'm not fond of in this manner that this anime presented. (rather than sacred thing that I consider it is, it was more of we…

While the season was off to a good start, the last several episodes seems to be a letdown. The beginning being a continuation of the movie, was by far(for me) the best part of the show.(although I am not a great fan of the movie) Here we get a deep insight into Yuji's charecter, both providing a background for the first season and letting viewers develop an appreciation for what made Kazami Yuji. At the beginning of the review I did say that the last few episodes were disappointing, perhaps this is not entiarly true. The finale was, in a very proper usage of the word, EPIC. The amazing story of the majority of the show + the spectacular finale( which I'd be happy to use as an example of badassery) most definitely make up for the shows shortcomings. POINT IS : it's worth a watch

After finishing the Grisaia series i wanted more. Kinda like that fat kid at the birthday party that always asks for more cake, but then is told, "No, you already ate half of it" and then not given the cake and then they whine like a baby until they get what they want. That is how i feel about this show. Why is it so good? Hm. I don't know. Probably because of the harem king who stars in the show (Kazami Yuuji) and the plot development along with the opening and ending. This is one of my ideal animes that i like to watch. There is a harem, but not too much harem with harem cliches. There is action, but the show is not all about action. The girls in the harem are also not afraid to kiss Yuuji. Lets move on from this big paragraph, shall we? Okay welcome to paragraph number two where i tal…

Grisaia became somewhat disappointingly self-aware and therefor much less ridiculous (though still completely ridiculous) but to its credit it also became a technically better series. What it does really well is that it starts playing with your expectations of the hot garbage that Grisaia is and uses it to create some genuinely clever and humorous moments mostly by really leaning into the silly Grisaia stuff early on just so they can circumvent their own tropes later on. In fact, even the serious moments go over a bit better this time around. They provided enough of the Grisaia bs I know and love while both acknowledging that its awful and using that to actually improve the overall product. The direction and shot composition are also improved for the most part but still throw in some laugh…

Enjoyment 6/10 I think that Grisaia no Rakuen is a good sequel to the first season i think that it has incredible art good story and antagonist well written characters and great action scenes.... but i just couldn't enjoy this season as much as the first one because of 2 characters - JB, Asako those 2 completely ruined a lot of Yuuiji's past for me with completely unnecessary sexual relationships with him i mean (very minor Spoilers) Asako just decides to have sex with him when he was 16 as a present and she is like 30 years old and JB was even worse... so much worse ok she was a VIRGIN !!! and again around 30 years old when Asako just pushes her to lose her virginity to a 16 year old kid all of this makes absolutely no sense and completely ruined my immersion in the show a few times. i…
