"I don't want anyone but my brother to touch me" - Miyuki
Yes, this is an actual quote. I was able to filter out these parts in the previous season, but this season is making it extra hard. Look, I'm not even against incest on principle, if two consenting adult siblings want to f*** their brains out, it's fine with me as long as they don't have any offspring (who might have increased chances of facing life-long issue). But man... come on...
Phew. Let's get to actually reviewing.
Wait, what? Yes, this season involves a I-promise-these-are-not-really-aliens theme. There was some explanation that actually made some sense (all things considered), only for the show to proceed and add multiple unnecessary and unexplained complications with the only goal being to move the plot ahead.
Okay,…

Please note that this is season two of a series so my thoughts and feelings on the characters are the same as written on the first series review.
I like this season. It is better than the first one because it’s one story nicely paced and easy to understand. Unlike the first one which was very rushed and three stories that being said this season story was really good and enjoyable paced well from start to finish.
Everything else to me is the same as my season one review so do read that for my thoughts. I would now be starting season three. So hopefully you would as well if you enjoyed it.
Overall 7/10 one rank better than season 1 I’m hoping season 3 gets an 8 or stays the same

The anime have quite interesting plot over Tatsuya and the contatcs and background.
BUT the romance with his sister is so cringe and ALL the episodes have that cringe interaction, on the first season it was aceptable and the background shown on the film was kind of cute, but every new episode the cringe is on new level, the sister is all time upset because DON'T WANT TO BE HIS SISTER IN ORDER TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP like wtf.
Full of fan service, half nude scenes,...
The best on the anime is the music.
Don't waste your time, the background of Tatsuya is interesting, but the anime decide to focus on romance with his sister.

tl;dr: A sequel season that handled its core plot pretty well, but does a pretty bad job with its characters and magic system world building.
This is the second season of Mahouka. It was quite a surprise when it was announced. There was a large gap of seven years between the first season and second season. But more critically, there was a filler film released in the middle of that, but the chronological placement was a bit strange. The film actually takes place right in the middle of this season, more specifically it takes place half way through episode 11. Furthermore the film draws heavily on what happens this season, primarily in that fan favorite Lina plays a part. That they would choose to release such a film basically felt like they were giving up on the anime in favor of appealing…

As keen on the Mahouka series, I turned eagerly expecting Raihousha-hen to delve deeper into the sector and characters I had grown to love. However, I discovered myself suffering to keep up with the breakneck tempo of the storyline and the avalanche of the latest records added in every episode. While the motion scenes have been as exhilarating as ever, I couldn`t shake the sensation of bewilderment and frustration because the plot raced ahead, leaving me behind. Raihousha-chicken may also fulfill die-tough fanatics hungry for greater Mahouka content, however for me, it turned into a dizzying and overwhelming revel in that in the long run fell brief of expectations.

The visitor arc of Irregular at magic high school is quite alright. It's a sequel so you shouldn't watch it without watching the original anime but if you enjoyed the original you'll like this one as well.
The story is relatively interesting and there is more of a singular storyline than last season. The characters are the same as in the previous season with a few new additions and the artsyle is similar enough as well. The sound is worse than in season one so that's suboptimal.
Overall you'll probably like the anime if you liked the first season and if you didn't like the first season you won't like this one either. If you haven't watched the first season, watch that first.

If you come from Season 1, you know what to expect, it looks good, sounds good, the characters are interesting with enough depth to them to keep you engaged, and it's an overpowered anime protag wish fulfilment with harem elements and siscon elements thrown in for 'good measure' that makes for an enjoyable trashy anime.
However while Season 1 had enough action and a lot going on with various different story arcs to keep you engaged and keep things interesting, season 2 falls flat as it is quite boring in comparison.
We have one main story arc, but it is just not that interesting, and it goes on for so long that it just feels like it is dragging.
Worse still, the main new character is also not that interesting either
So, watching it feels tiresome and a chore, especially when you know tha…

Something is lacking in this anime, I just cannot pinpoint what exactly it is. it's bugging me, my mouth can't tell what it is. This lack of something made this anime somewhat bland for me, perhaps it's just me. Well, at least the animation is top-tier.
The story is fine. Do not expect too much from its story.
the animation is overall fantastic!! the only reason I made it through is that the animation is well made. You can see the hard work of the animators in making this. I am not sure if the animation is the reason why the second season took long. Well, it paid off cuz for me the animation is great!
Characters.... uh what can I say... I don't have much to say since the characters are generic. I don't mean that in a bad way. it is just is. I only made it, cuz I'm used to these types of…

I mean, it's season 2. If you're watching it, you know what you signed up for.
That said, season one as a set up was, imo, a lot better as there was something more defined with the characters. Season 2 felt like 13 episode of fluff. Story with barely any substance. I wouldn't call it bad, but. I wouldn't say it was good either.
At best, I would call it 'meh'. You're not missing much if you decide to not watch it to be honest. Don't have anything negative to say about this, but I don't have anything positive either. I'm not sure why there's so many negative reviews, when the show was so 'meh' that the negative reviewers put more energy into the review than the show did its characters and plot, but they did.

This is one of those shows that I would like to write my opinion and review on, mostly because I really wanted to like the show and its premise, and I do enjoy seeing Gary Stu-type characters more than Mary Sue-type characters because of one reason: Gary Stus have a goal. And in the first season, one could argue Tatsuya's goal was to make the world a better place by the integration of magic into non-military affairs. In the second season... well, the second season is a drop in terms of quality, music and plot, all of the things that made the first season somewhat decent to me.
Story: It's about a bunch of parasites that somehow made their way over to Japan and were created by an experiment gone awry, as well as a young agent of the USNA's Stars special forces who is completely incapable o…

I re-watched S1 because I wanted to get hyped for S2. Sadly, I feel I may have wasted valuable time. S1 is superior to S2 in every way. In fact, this season didn't really add much to the over all show....it introduced 2 new characters, and they weren't even well fleshed out.
So let me just say what I did like about the anime and this season in particular. The girls are cute and hot. That's about it...usually that does it for me, but dammit is it too much to ask for more, especially when S1 did a great job setting up its universe.
The biggest flaw this show has is that it introduces characters, but then doesn't do anything with them. Even the MC's sister has less development than some of the side characters. You don't know any of their powers or personality really. You just guess how they…

Season 1 was a banger 10/10 for me but season 2 could not have been written any worse then todays shows that target nude scenes and romance that lack any vibe, story or awesomeness.
Season 1 we have an irregular, someone who surprises us at every turn, is super powerful and uses his power from the get go. He has a lot of secrets that surprise us and showed a lot of fight scenes with cool music.
Season 2 however is idle from that concept, we focus on a girl called Angelina and the usa forces from episode 1-10 that add no context or development to the story. Tatsuya is shown to be more human and less of a power house here, taking him forever to deal with enemies where in season 1 anyone that went against him was instantly dealt with.
This in turn made all development and power seen in…

A disappointment.
The show overall is just a cringy incest power fantasy, but more importantly the characters are some of the worst I've ever seen. It's only gotten worse from season 1, and there's a good reason why season two came out so long after.
The animation quality overall is very high, with any visual shortcuts largely hidden. The story was average at best, but by far the worst thing are the characters. Tatsuya (MC) remains stupidly overpowered and lacking in any emotion. His sister is still just a full "I love my brother" mode.
The most painful part of all of this is none of the characters seem to have two braincells to rub together. (No spoilers) but there are murders on the loose but the MC seems more intent in figuring out the identity and in certain circumstances straight…

Now what can I say about this. It was really mediocre. There is a limit how much op a character can get. I mean he can do everything. He is everywhere. he can see everything. I mean give me a break! will you?
The previous season was very good. I mean aside from the op character there were so much things like school event, mass terrorism, different organization, excitement, spy. In this season there is nothing aside from shameless flirting between brother and sister. Girls fawning over tatsuya. Problems occurs. Tatsuya solves everything. Yeah I mean it. EVERYTHING.
I mean he regrowth a damn tower. Can you imagine how much information that is. Illiterate fools won't get it but some will get it that how shit that scene was. I mean processing information of a spell or a certain area was le…

Boring as hell. What a disapointment. Forget about the excitement of the previous season, Raihousha-hen feels like a filler to introduce the next new season, and hopefully, a much better one. All aspects of the "strategic class" and genius engineer serves no purpose here, and between the very bland blonde new character and the ever crazy sex deprived little brocon sister, there's not so much to enjoy. I've watched this anime one week ago and already forgot 2/3 of it.
It's OK to watch this if you liked the first season, but you've been warned : don't expect anything from it.
This season was probably made to fulfill some production contract or something.

Introduction:
I could honestly start to analyze this whole sequel to Mahouka section by section, but this is so enough that I want to talk only about the terms of History and Direction in conjunction with the changes that occurred in the program during all these years of absence that I will limit myself to being as short as possible.
Review:
All right now if we start with this semi-review attempt.
First of all I want to touch the change of study that is not at all minor, since under no point is it from the Anime that it is. And in this case the transition took place at the hands of Madhouse who then decided to emigrate to the study of "8bits". Honestly when I found out this news my hype dropped considerably, since it was realistic and I knew that it was very difficult for its current ow…

Season 1 of this anime is excellent, one of my favorite series. I have been waiting for season 2 forever. But, season 2 does not flow well... I have not read the novels so I do not know how closely it followed the novels or even if that was a factor. I just know it was disappointing. The first season was easy to follow and was almost believable (I really wanted to believe that magic is a possibility, and the way it was presented with all of the details made it believable).
But the second season was not believable and the relationship between Miyuki and Tatsuya was over played, over emphasize. The story line was crazy, not smooth or logical. The fact is, it needed a better script....... I feel like this was a rushed job. I hope season 3 is better......
The movie was also very good and staye…

This was good. But it started off a little rocky for me. To start, the season started fairly slower than the last one, which bothered me somewhat. Also the fact that the season was only 13 episodes, unlike the previous one which was around 20 something episodes. The speed picked up during the mid to late part of the seasons, which did make me pretty happy. The first couple of episodes were boring though, and I kinda wish they made those a little bit more fast pace. I will say that the last around 4-5 episodes were VERY good. The 12th episode was probably one of my favorites that season, because it showed two VERY adorable kids, those in question being Ayako and Fumiya! I kinda wish I gotta see a little more of them though. The 13th episode was also really good, we got s…

The anime is technically decent. But the characters personality and traits have been completely changed, so that you can barely recognize them.
I enjoyed the first season mainly because of the huge hype that got built around the main character who always looked powerful and mysterious. The hype was build in a crescendo, in such a way that you were pleased to wait 3 episodes to watch the 2 minutes of him kicking everybody's butt.
In this season though everybody gets to be overpowered for no reason whatsoever. The E class students, who were nothing more than decent, are now on a magician soldier level, and Tatsuya's sister is now on a world-best magician level.
On top of that, Tatsuya does not look that powerful anymore. He was usually doing everything by himself but now he seems to be…

I actually thought this was pretty mundane. The first arc which carries for 11 chapters has no excitement. The opponent is a bunch of squiggly lines (you'll understand when you see it) and is not at all compelling. Also, no answers are given to why they even do what they are doing, and, to be honest, I don't really care. It just wasn't interesting.
The second arc of this season is mumbo jumbo. It lasts for two episodes and is too rushed with a ridiculously convenient event happening that causes some threat. It is hard to explain without giving away the plot, but there is no real threat until this event.
The protagonist's main contribution to the plot is to monologue and explain really obvious things to us. I swear 70% of this season is him just standing around and monologuing. He does no…
