A unique and seriously shocking anime!
Rewatching Grisaia no Kajitsu, I was less surprised by the events, after all, I was already familiar with many of the plot twists and the story's most impactful moments. However, this doesn't diminish the gravity of what the series presents. Grisaia is undeniably a shocking anime; it isn't afraid to tackle disturbing situations or subject its characters to extremely traumatic experiences. It’s one of those shows that might start off seeming relatively ordinary, but as the episodes progress, it reveals a narrative that is far heavier and more complex than it initially appeared.
In this first season, the focus is primarily on the girls at the school and their respective pasts. Yuuji, our protagonist, serves as the connecting thread between these stori…

Fruit of Grisaia is an adaption of a visual novel by the same name. I'm surprised they managed to squeeze several routes and all that relationship-building in just 13 episodes.
You've got your waifu relationships, ecchi, harem building, and extracurricular school all in one story.
I have to say that I was shocked by some of the things the MC did in some of the episodes, like "Wow did he really do that?" in a good way.
Compared to the later games/shows in this series, I'd say Fruit is the best one. The others were somewhat disappointing, focusing more on backstories than on ecchi (lol).

This Anime had solid animation throughout, and the character designs and personalities were genuinely appealing 😁. For a while, the story felt decent and headed in an interesting direction… until episodes 11 and 12 completely shifted the tone. Those final episodes left me more shocked than anything, and the sudden intensity honestly felt a bit overwhelming 🫣.
There are still many unanswered questions about the MC, and it feels like a lot of important details were left out or only hinted at. While parts of the series were enjoyable, the overall experience felt uneven to me.
Except the episodes 10,11 and 12,this anime just went good and some emotions
This anime just had my bad parents that got my nerves

The Fruit of Grisaia initially seems like an innocent drama, which however, at the end of the first episode hinted that it would be something more, and in the fourth episode, when you probably didn't even hope for it that much, things really took off! Each of the girls has a strong backstory, which is therefore resolved rather quickly (and a little unbelievably), but still, each story was interesting and there were moments that I didn't expect - in the sixth episode, I was taken aback by one event that I believed at the time and then I was also surprised that the series sometimes doesn't take it too kindly - see. the line with Makina. The most brutal thing for me was the last flashback with Amane, which was insanely raw. For me, this series is good and the individual stories are worth it.

TLDR: Read the Visual Novels if you want the full experience. Otherwise, this is a passable, if overly condensed, slightly altered, entry point into the series.
I don't envy anyone that has to adapt a lengthy, acclaimed visual novel like Fruit of Grisaia into a single 13 episode anime season while having it turn out as good or as fleshed out as the source material, so for what it is, this adaptation tried it's best with moderate success.
Most of the core story beats from each route are present, albeit in a heavily watered down and somewhat altered form. This unfortunately means, however, that Yumiko's story, which relies heavily on the romance plot between her and Yuuji, lost the vast majority of it's story progression and interested viewers will need to read the visual novel to truly e…

When looking for light hearted harem animes to watch I came across this one. The review I read said it was a harem with some serious issues being discussed and the idea of a more serious harem with possible interesting character development enticed me enough to have a watch. So how does it stack up to other harem animes and how dark and serious does it really get? Well...
- Story & Theme
The premise is simple. The protagonist is transferred to a school. It's obvious from the start that he has some baggage and that the school, a huge one with only a few girls as the students, isn't an ordinary one. As no surprise, then, it is clear that the girls aren't exactly ordinary girls either. The story is less about the protagonist and his background and more about the girls and how the protagonist…

Let me put it this way: I love productions that mix a dark atmosphere that they tone down with humor. And such vibes were given to me by the first episodes of this anime. However, everything started to break down from the middle of the series. The drawn-out plot with the castaways and the problems of the big titties girl in general made the whole atmosphere I got to know at the beginning of the anime completely blurred.
Does this anime have any waifu material? Rather not, the chicks here are not really outstanding, although they do not make you want to throw the monitor out of the window with their behaviour
Anime really good for the first 6-8 episodes, then it's mid

Not like another anime, It has unique elements but also has flaws on several sides. Adaptation with the episode, which I feel is lacking, there are a number of gaps where the plot is incomplete. Enjoy it, of course, but there are a number of things that are forced so that it reduces the beauty of the anime itself.
The main character is really very reliable unlike high school kids in general and this is getting weirder, are high school kids in Japan that smart? Of course not because all of that is just an adjustment.
The woman who is the main character also has the right voice, very deep into the role. I really like characters like this. Psychology? I don't think it tastes too good, maybe because there are a lot of harem + ecchi elements mixed in it.
Not bad but not great either. Can't b…

Season 1 of the show, it's honestly not a bad start. It's a bit goofy how many panty shots are in this, there's some nudity, but the stand out oddness is how this show is just weirdly horny during moments that should be taken seriously. That contributes to this season being really uneven. We get backstories for each of the girls, many of which feel rushed because a whole route of the graphic novel was condensed into a single episode. Still, a couple of them work, providing some really strong pathos. Others range from confusing messes to being outright disgusting watches. There are even a couple of homages to famous films like Léon: The Professional and Lord of the Flies. If the arc they chose to spend most of this season developing wasn't such a complete and utter mess, I'd probably rate i…

Just because the characters in the anime have a dark past, it doesn't make the anime suddendly good. Just because it shows dark stuff, it isn't some masterpiece of psychological thriller...
First of all, all of the situations must be coherent, without convenience for some characters but this is far from the case.
I am not asking for it to be 'realistic', but at least believable given there doesn't seem to exist 'magic' in the world.
Characters : Same shit as other animes. 4/10, 4 score for a decent MC.
Story: Mediocre, convenience upon convenience upon convenience, 2/10
The 1 is just for the fact that japanese authors seem to not be able to produce any dark narrative without inserting animal rape, which is indeed a dark narrative, but has also become convenient and cheap given the abu…

This is my personal review of Grisaia no Kajitsu
IT MAY CONTAIN SOME SPOILER
Story: 8
To know the story you need to watch the 2nd season, anyway this story talks about the life of the protagonist, Kazami Yuuji.
I liked the fact that the sin of Yuuji is to live and he will have the permission to die only when he will saves 5 people.
Art: 7
In essence the art are good, in particular I enjoyed Amane's art but i didn't like Yumiko and Michiru's arts.
I liked also the kind of framing, it's been like watching a film. Sound: 8
The sounds makes you feel the emotions the author wanted, in particular the opening is really good.
I also liked some soundtrack like "DEADLOCK".
Character: 9
Well, the main theme of this anime is the characters, and they did a great job.
I love Amane's past, it's so sad…

ive genuinely got no idea why this is in my top 10 anime of all time (as a series not just this season) but it is anyways,,
first off i just love how gorgeous this show looks, like its not doing too much to make it stand out but it just looks so nice to me, the characters are all unique in their own way theres no two characters in the main cast you could look at and be like "ha youre just boring theres nothing interesting about you at all" except maybe if you havent watched all of it? idk every characters backstory feels overdramatic but thats what youre wanting out of this show duh, if you didnt want an edge fest with drama you wouldnt be watching past episode 1 lol.
i havent watched this show in years and idk if i intend to rewatch it at any point because just the fact that this anime…

Be warned those who are not partial to tragic backstories (or gratuitous panty shots!)
While not the masterpiece VN fans hoped for, Fruits of Grisaia is absolutely worth checking out if MAL's synopsis piqued your interest!
To those out their who are anime only viewers (i.e. will not play the visual novel), do not let yourself be dissuaded from watching by VN-purists! The one thing the anime adaptation succeeds with that the VN failed at is CONCISENESS! Despite cramming all the routes into one season, Fruits does a good job of getting the main points across, and gives ample screentime to the fan favorite route. Much of the flak Fruits gets comes from too much being packed into one season. Only two of the five girls have their stories expanded upon for more than one episode. If only the…

This show is everything I hated about anime back in the day. Harems, and random panties shots in every single episode. I was not prepared for the uncensored boobies either. Also, why do these girls piss themselves every single episode?? Is that some kind of fetish I'm missing? Whatever. This show is just a fan service showcase. I guess that's what you can expect from a visual novel adaptation but I also did not expected to hate every single harem candidate as much as I do. Despite all of these girls having a pretty dark past, it felt incredibly cheap to have them all wrapped up within 2 or 3 episodes. Although I'm watching it 10 years later, it's still one of the worst things I've watched in quite some time.
The only redeeming thing for me is, as a Monogatari fan, I really appreciate Aki…

A very short review:
With the show being a bit too extreme and overwhelming at times it isn't a show for everyone. The level of depth to each character and their way of acting is nothing less than remarkable. (shouldn't expect any less from a VN I guess) A very different and I guess original show compared to what I usually watch, especially character wise. I've heard rumours about the VN being a lot better compared to the anime (The anime is a bit too compact and rushed compared to the VN from what I've heard), so maybe it's worth a try?

I don't know how I should feel about this anime if I should dislike or like it as it wasn't that amazing to me neither entertaining.
Story 6/10- The anime focuses on 6 students at school only for them and in a way is for them since they all have some sort of back story that had affected their lives which is why they're all that school but we don't know much about Yuuji Kazami who's been helping them and he's been happy to go to this 'ordinary' schools which is weird but we don't know much about his backstory like the rest. I don't hate how each character gets their own screen time in their lives but each other stories weren't that interesting or great to me maybe Yumiko or Amane seemed interesting but not that great for me.
Art 7/10 and Sound 6/10- These were all fine, art wa…

Usually, our minds associate the word "sociopath" with something inherently negative... cold-blooded, cruel, unsympathetic. But, "Grisaia no Kajitsu" is one of the only fictional series that I've watched or read, that has a character that would most likely be diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder, and yet, uses his emotional impairment for the greater good. Especially, when put to the task of attending a school full of troubled young women!
⚠️ This review will contain spoilers ⚠️
The interpretation of Yūji Kazami in the anime adaptation is similar to Tatsuya Shiba ("Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei"), he's: emotionally null, grossly overpowered, and a total chick magnet. Though I got laugh out of Tatsuya's perpetual lethargy, I think I preferred Yūji's character. While being a human irr…

This is EASILY the dumbest, most try-hard, borderline-hentai series I've ever watched. It's actually the only series horrible enough to prevent me from dropping it, simply out of pure curiosity of how stupid it could get.
The main character is the ultimate baddass.. and that's where all of the wrong begins. He is the cringiest male character of all time. He is made in a way that screems "nerd's ideal male super-ego". He actually lost his virginity when he was a kid. Not even a teenager, no. When he was a kid. And that he did with a 25-30 year old woman. And that woman had a (woman) friend that was a vigin as well, also around 25-30 years old, that actually lost her virginity to this LITTLE BOY. And that little boy was more experienced sexually than her since he had already "become" a man.…

This show is an absolute disgusting mockery of mental illness and childhood trauma, put on display for apparently fetish reasons. This is pornography for the very worst of humanity. That's the only reason I can fathom anyone would like this.
It certainly started off decent enough; fantastic art, compelling hook, and a bad ass main character. Went straight to shit once they started covering the backstories of the characters, all of whom show characteristics of trauma and mental illness, some very serious.
Normally I don't mind the sexualization of characters in anime. I understand that these are shows for a completely separate culture than what I'm accustomed to, and I can generally ignore it since it doesn't always play a major part in the story. I just accept it and move on. This was so…
