Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun

Introduction

The famous Seven Mysteries that every school seems to have are a staple of Japanese urban legends. One of the most well-known of these tales is that of Hanako-san: the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school's bathrooms. Kamome Academy has its own version of Hanako-san's legend. Rumors claim that if one successfully manages to summon Hanako-san, she will grant her summoner any wish. Lured by the gossip, many people have tried to call upon her, yet every attempt has failed. However, when Nene Yashiro, a girl hoping for romantic fortune, dares to summon Hanako-san, she discovers that the rumored "girl" is actually a boy! After a series of unfortunate events involving Yashiro's romantic desires, she is unwillingly entangled in the world of the supernatural, becoming Hanako-kun's assistant. Soon, she finds out about Hanako-kun's lesser-known duty: maintaining the fragile balance between mortals and apparitions. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Story I liked the concept of various apparitions telling their own stories, while a larger narrative involving the main characters unfolds simultaneously. The series also delves into the relationship between Hanako and Yashiro; although it ends on a cliffhanger, that just makes you want to watch the second season. Characters Hanako and Yashiro are excellent characters; their dynamic makes you want to see more of them together, and the humor is generally quite good. As for the antagonists, I feel they enter the plot a bit late and their backstories aren't fully fleshed out, but they do succeed in creating a sense of danger. While there are quite a few supporting characters—most of whom I liked—I do feel that too much emphasis was placed on Mitsuba, and his storyline didn't quite reach a co…

Fascinating and imaginative worldbuilding that takes a fresh and self-aware, meta spin on Japanese ghost stories. Each apparition represents or manages a different supernatural phenomenon, the nature of which is directly shifted and/or changed by the rumours and therefore beliefs passed around about them. The animation is excellent, with smooth clashes during fight scenes and colour palettes that complement and enhance the mood and atmosphere of each scene. The art style is visually striking and easily recognizable. It is unique, bold, and beautiful, and does a great job of balancing playful, adorable, more childish design elements and characteristics with darker, creepier themes and concepts. The environments are stunning, fantastical and diverse, and the artwork makes each place an imm…

Ever heard spooky ghost rumours in your own school? A floor that is forbidden for you to go ? Did you ever believe a rumour and it actually came true? Cuz why wouldn't it ....In the end we manifest the things we firmly believe in... be it fear or love, don't we ? I personally for a long time was reluctant to watch this anime due it's name and couldn't take it serious .Cuz what even is with this name ? I can't be the only one who judged the book by it's cover. BUT now that i have seen it,i have a total shift of mindset in a positive way. It has the leastest to do with actual toilet .If you are a fan of supernatural , slow burn , comedy with a twist of unexpected darkness ,you ought to give this show a try. Don't let it's vibrant animation fool you into thinking it's a kids comedy show. A p…

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun starts with a premise that sounds playful and almost absurd. A school rumor says that if someone knocks three times on the third stall of the girls’ bathroom, the mysterious spirit known as Hanako will appear and grant a wish. What initially feels like a typical supernatural urban legend quickly turns into something far more layered once a student named Nene Yashiro actually summons him. Instead of finding a terrifying ghost, Nene encounters a mischievous boy spirit who acts more like a chaotic trickster than a traditional horror figure. Hanako is revealed to be one of the Seven Mysteries that govern the supernatural balance inside Kamome Academy. Each of these mysteries represents a powerful spirit connected to a specific rumor circulating among the students. The r…

the story of Hanako-kun mixes comedy with supernatural stuff in a school setting. Basically, Nene and Hanako go around solving ghost-related problems, and yeah, it's pretty entertaining once it gets going. At first, I thought it was kinda boring, not gonna lie. But as the episodes went on, it really grew on me. One thing that cracked me up was how they keep clowning on Nene’s legs all the time—like, come on, she’s cute! One of the mysteries even said she’s a “4 out of 10”… bruh, what?? lmao Anyway, I’d say it’s worth watching! The only thing that really annoyed me was this one character the brother of hanako. Dude is just straight up nasty, and somehow nobody ever deals with him properly. Honestly, he needs to catch some hands already. All in all, fun show with cool vibes. I'd totally r…

I had no ideea what to expect from a show with this premise.... But what i am certain is that i was pleasantly surprised. A paranormal comedy about apparations and wonders of the school. Talk about unusual combinations. The main premise of the show is the paranormal and legends about the apparations of japan. With one of the most popular, enough at least to be recognized not just in the country, but around the globe as well. I've seen myself plenty of iterations and takes on the Toilet Spirit Hanako(mostly in NSFW games and other forms of similar media actually :">) and this is another twist on it's origins. With a ... i can't really say now if it's a less or more tragic then the original, as the mystery is still in full swing. I'd like to see far more anime about this topic, the merging…

Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun is an amazing Supernatural Slice of life action anime. Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun is an awesome anime that deserves to be talked about way more. First of all the plot of this anime is absolutely fantastic, the way everything develops through the anime as more and more wonders of the school and details become known really make the whole show feel interconnected. The characters are simply amazing and feel really real to be honest. Purely because of the way they talk about emotions and such (mainly romance) in such a light tone just seems really human. For example Hanako-Kun makes dirty jokes and such (that are comedic gold) and it just feels so natural. All of the different arcs throughout the anime are really in-depth and thorough each wonders world being full of det…

Man, what do I start when making a review of this anime? Well let's see, to start things off. I absolutely adore this The animation The artstyle The sounds The Characters And lastly the drive of this story, they are all so unique to say the least, for me they are quite pleasing to my eyes, to my ears, and to my sense of imagination. The time and effort it must've taken to create this anime during 2020 must be really hard. That said the animators and anyone involved in the process of creating this deserve all the praises as any other studio who worked during this time of need. Now this, Hanako-kun is so freaking LOVELY!!! Like how do I put this, he's kinda like a mix of Kamidere (his supernatural authority and occasional commanding presence). Kuudere (his mysterious and emotionally distan…

Great show, even though Nene Yashiro is absolutely the stupidest anime character ever from A to Z - why is she like this, I wanna punch her so bad every time she's being idiotic Apart from that, the story is quite interesting knowing the fact that there are a lot of references to Yokai , which made me want to finish the anime. The style is also cute and straightforward. Characters are usually cool or silly (except Nene, she's just a dumb little daikon) and it's good to see their relationships evolving as episodes go by You will like this if you like horror and relationships!

It's been years since this show has released. IT HAS NOT LEFT MY MIND EVER SINCE! Do you like creepy urban legends? Supernatural themes along with great comedy, an amusing cast of characters and a (star crossed) blooming romance? THIS IS FOR YOU! This show is BRILLIANT. The characters are all very likeable and distinct and so are the visuals! The color, the blocky art style. YUM YUM, very refreshing; it's for me! The story is very compelling and much more intricate than what it initially seems. This anime is able to balance so many different themes so well: horror, comedy, romance! And I mean like, REALLY WELL THOUGHT-OUT, WELL WRITTEN, SLOW BURN romance!! in this econOMY!? RARE! Yes, the budget is very limited and the action scenes suffer for it but the charm this series has is out of…

[Eng] It took me a long time to start watching Hanako-kun but when I finally took the step to watch it, I say it was so worth it This anime is not only beautiful visually, it also has such cute and likeable characters, the only one that got on my nerves a little was Mitsuba but otherwise, they are all incredible and with a wonderful design The story is different from what I see in other animes, I found the 7 mysteries of a school very creative and they really managed to create a whole mystery around them all! Furthermore, I was surprised several times, I thought it would be a cute anime but the comedy with perverted jokes and tense moments proved me wrong, in fact, always be suspicious if an anime is too cute at first sight, because Hanako-kun actually GOT me scary in some scenes (Tsukas…

Starting off with the art of "Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun" because, honestly, it's BEAUTIFUL! The vibrant color palette, the collage-style animation, and the eye-catching scenes are all so lovely (?). It's something I'd want to capture with a camera or have as a wallpaper on my phone ..going to Pinterest to find good ones.. The OST is another 10/10 in the anime. The opening is now one of my favourites. I also really enjoyed the humour in the show. Yes, the setting might feel a bit childish. No wonder, since it's high-school. But the jokes are absolutely at their peak. "Chotto eroi" made me giggle a lot of times, maybe I need some help. HOWEVER, when it comes to the characters and the whole storytelling, I was left wanting more. The anime kind of felt like an introduction that left a lot o…

The art is unusual, that's obvious. The story itself is... more or less regular, especially if one watches anime for longer than combined ages of two protagonists and, obviously, seen more than one or two titles dedicated to subjects of school, paranormal, Seven Wonders, puberty, 8th grader syndrome, and teenage angst, in any combination. Yet there is a certain appeal that makes me wait for the supposed second season, and even recommend the thing, especially if you are partial to school, paranormal, and specifically Seven Wonders. Pity there is no half-marks between 7 and 8 here on MAL. This is definitely more than 7/10, if not a full 8/10.

The anime has a beautiful artstyle and is able to transport you to a whole different world through very well written characters and plot . Its been a long time since i had that magical feeling watching something. Nenes caracter is just adorable and if you are a girl u ll definetly relate ! I love how every caracter has its own fears and desires and eventhough the anime is overall very light and entretaining to watch it still deals with topics like death and abuse . Sadly ,theres no second season yet because i had the feeling it was getting more intense as the episodes passed. The romantic scenes are also very good i must say , i am very much a shoujo fan and i was very satisfied with them . 100% recommended <3

This anime is using the same recycle theme of Seven wonders but seems to not go for any character growth, meaningful lessons or feeling of progression towards a goal. This is a slice of life with tint of humor, horror and some supernatural. The only memorable aspect was the unique art style of the show. A unique color palette and style of framing was the only salvation of the show. The animation is very limited and subpar, the character are quite forgettable and their goals or motivation are absolutely weak. The movement are very stiff, they put a lot of still frames which are okay but when your show is half still frames, I am watching a visual novel or manga with some little tit-bit of animation. We are presented with Nene the main protagonist which has a desire to be in a romantic relat…

🈶 Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun Review (One of the Best Anime?) My English isn’t perfect, so I apologize in advance. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun is a school-themed, mysterious, and slightly detective-style anime with a unique atmosphere. 📖 Story The story of the anime is fairly beautiful, though it can feel a bit repetitive at times. Most episodes start with a problem and end with its solution. However, this repetition doesn’t make the anime boring at all. That’s because the main storyline is introduced slowly and carefully, which keeps the viewer interested and engaged. By the final part, the story ends in a way that leaves the viewer extremely eager and “thirsty” to continue watching and find out what happens next. 📚 Manga (Briefly) Let’s skip the anime for a moment and talk briefly ab…

This is one of those series where I just want to love it purely out of the artwork done from the manga artist. Personally I do indeed find the story pretty plain, which is sort of in the same plane as Demon Slayer, not to mention starkly similar animation at that too! However, for its original source, the animation, although pleasant to the eyes, does not do it justice enough. Which is funny because I picked up this series for its clean animation, but seriously, the artwork is too stellar on its own. I would see how hard it would be to animate that, haha. So hey, I may likely check out the manga for this, and possibly read it through if it isn't too childish for me, not that childish tropes are bad in a way. If anything, I find it nostalgic.

As much as I enjoyed the artstyle I would say this series is pretty average and doesn't really present anything original. The fight scenes were anticlimactic because of the animation style, and for me personally it was hard to get emotionally invested in any of the characters since the show either presented the characters backgrounds, personalities and lives too fast or too slow. Like with Mitsuba. It just killed any form of emotional reaction to anything that happened in the show. This is however just the first season. I haven't read the manga so if the characters show more substance in the future maybe I'll give it a go. As of right now the anime was just... Plain

If you like the typical spookiness of Japanese urban legends, the concept of Yōkai, Slapstick comedy and the occasional tearjerker, then this is the show for you! I have had a hard time getting bored of any episode. Each and every character is lovely and exquisite to watch and interact with each other, especially the female protagonist, which you don't typically see them being so interesting in Anime settings. I am happy they made her much more than just your average teenage girl struggling to find her place in the world. Heck, even the side characters are fun to watch. Story wise, it has it's moments where you're not sure where it is going, but it eventually leads up to something. Some characters you'll love to hate, like the main antagonist. The art style and the colors are very vivid…

It's rare to come across a hidden gem like this anime. Maybe because I'm so used to over hyped ones that end up meh at best. This one however I binge watched in on weekend it was so good. Art style = 10/10 I rarely give out a perfect score but these are recognizable characters. I had seen merch and of the show here and there before going on my binge and still knew where this was from. Not only that but the manga panel style matched the overall mood of the show, not easy to do outside of comedies. Writing = 8.5/10 This show has it's moments of top self writing. It's not afraid to call out cliches without breaking the 4th wall like most shows do nowadays so it keeps things interesting. There are also some heavy moments in here that hit hard and the show isn't afraid to go there. Char…
