I don't even know how to begin this review, because this was just boring. I am an average viewer, I may have some knowledge and interest in the manga or entertainment industry in general, but this is just too niche. It doesn't help that the dynamics between characters feels so stiff - no, let me correct this: there wasn't any dynamic at all to begin with, the characters and their relationships are so shallow it's not interesting.
In some way this is realistic and it serves the purpose of showing the "backstage" of what creating a manga is like, but somehow the least realistic part was the romance. It's like the authors, in their self-insert fantasy, portrayed their ideal of a perfect romantic relationship but it felt sanitized, rigid, emotionless. My only theory is that their idea for "pu…

My ironing board has more depth than Azuki.
I liked the insight into the magaka's world that the anime shows. However, that's about everything good that I can say about this anime.
The art style was ok
The main character's whole motivation to draw is to get married to the most uninteresting, obnoxious, nonsensical and artificial character I've seen on screen. She is a walking plant.
For some fucking reason they can't communicate until they marry because the writer decided it would be so cool. This is what a 4th grader thinks love is.
The other characters are just... ok. The genius was obnoxious as fuck in the beginning, but gets better towards the end of the season. Takagi is one of the best and even he is just... nothing special

I really enjoyed the first season. It felt like the boys really had to earn their spots on the manga world. Although I find the relationship between,Mashiro and Azuki, to be incredibly unrealistic and stupid. At least how they are going about it. Its very ANIME XD).
In addition to that Niizuma was set up to be a foil and antagonist to Mashiro and Takagi. Then after some forced assistance for more development in his drawing and storytelling ability. Mashiro and Niizuma become friendly rivals. Which has left me disappointed. Hopefully going forward some sort of rift can develop and Niizuma will attempt to take their manga out of sterilization. If not I feel like they missed a big opportunity depending on how they decide to go about it.
Overall though I really enjoyed the first season. Be…

Seeing so many positive reviews would leave anyone very intrigued to see what this anime (and later manga too) has to offer. Needless to say, it really does live up to the viewers expectations and it gets even better. Especially in the second season, there are so many unexpected turns, but such is life too. This isn't a typical battle anime - its extraordinary. Instead of swords, they fight with stories and art and meeting the deadlines, but it works wery well in this setting.
Of course, its an imaginary story, well written, but the part that got to me the most is that it felt real. But.. its probably because the authors of manga are a duo as well and they must have put their hardships troughout the story.
P.S. Yes, I might be not as expecting of the authors as other hardcore fans, beca…

Watching this anime opened my eyes to the world of manga and the dedication of mangaka. They're willing to put in years of hard work just to get their work out there, and even then, it's no guarantee of success. But it's inspiring to see their passion and perseverance.
After watching this anime, I got curious about the lives of mangaka and their works, and now I'm hooked on reading manga!
And about the story, I love how the story combines romance with the characters' struggles and dreams. It's a reminder that hard work can pay off in the end.
And I love the idea that a mangaka's life is all about drawing until the death! :)
This is my first impression and first experience.

As artist into anime I obviously took an interest in bakuman. the characters in this show are very well fleshed out (for the most part). each character feels unique with different things driving them without too much exposition.
as for the story, despite its repetitive nature I find it engaging nonetheless. they don't show mashiro's progression as an artist visually unfortunately which for me was pretty disappointing. they do show art from time to time but there are no noticeable differences in quality. characters do acknowledge his progression throughout the show but for an anime about the creation of art it would've been nice to see more of it.
now I was conflicted if I should even bring this up because it's unfortunately the norm in shounen anime at this point but there is some mino…

Hy Everyone!
I have been waching animes for a long time now. This is my first review. I was hesitating whether to watch it and found myself reading reviews to decide if I should get into it, with the other two seasons inculded. If you're also hesitating,I can only advise you to at least give it try, don't look over it. I found something new in this story at the end of the 3rd season, some new feeling or sensation. It added something to my life, it is one of those animes that you're deep down looking for,to make your journey more complete in the world of animes. It's not the best or the most exciting, but it's really dammn good and defenitely among the special ones! Watch it, and thank me later!😄

Despite being listed primarily as a romance, that aspect of Bakuman is actually its weakest. This is to be expected, of course. After all, the target demographic is shounen. Drama and romance usually thrives when there are deep interactions between the characters or a complex story. If that were the case, the story would be marketed for older demographics. For a shounen, this romance is acceptable. For older audiences, it is too simple, shallow, unrealistic and uninteresting.
However, Bakuman is strong in other aspects. Watching it gives the feeling of watching a classic-superhero-action-shounen anime. It's about competing with others, forging rivalries and friendships and striving to be the best. I never thought watching people write and draw would be so suspenseful and exciting. I do no…

Bro, this anime's just a feel good anime. It is simply too good. (btw did you know it was written by the same guys that made the death note manga). You quite literally feel the ups and downs of the main duo and it is exhilarating. I can't put it into words.
It balances drama into it's story quite decently and I remember numerous times where I was jumping out of my seat when I learned something. The main duo is likeable - they essentially feel like what real people would be like when doing what they do, jumping for joy in moments of glee and clenching their fists in moments of tension. You simply feel immersed in their story, somehow the writer always brings up new challenges and you can feel the worry along with the characters.
Just, if you ever feel in a slump, watch this show. If you w…

Overall pretty mediocre for such a high rated anime. The beginning seems promising but it soon fumbles and drags on till the end. Mashiro is one of the most unlikeable MCs. His character is way too arrogant and narcissistic for you to empathize with his journey. Takagi is another generic sidekick with no personality of his own other than being an MC asslicker. Takagi is supposed to be the main writer here and yet you see Mashiro often going off on his own, lashing out against his only "friend" for the most foolish reasons. Except for a corny childhood fantasy of a future marriage, there's no real passion driving their day-to-day grind to become a mangaka. The side characters are as generic as the main ones. There's not a hint of 'comedy' except for a few sequences involving Kaya who's prob…

Bakuman is simply amazing.
See usually anime will have some supernatural abilities. Naruto can have Sharingan, Tanjiro can see into the future a little, and many others. They are good animes, but I can never relate to any of them.
Bakuman? I can relate to it somewhat. Everyone in this world is fighting for some purpose. Either for some unachievable dream or just grinding life daily.
This anime portrays achieving an unrealistic dream.
That is getting serialized in Jack (Basically Shonen JUMP!). And getting an anime adaptation.
It was really really sugoi seeing them go through this journey. It really brought light on the journey of a mangaka. I have seen the journey of a mangaka through other animes such as Gekkan SHoujo Nozaki Kun and such, but Bakuman really put it all to detail.

Today, we're talking about Bakuman, an anime that's about as exciting as a toothbrushing competition.
The premise is simple: two high schoolers team up to become manga artists and achieve their dreams of being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. Sounds thrilling, right? Well, let me tell you, it's not exactly the adrenaline-fueled ride that you were hoping for.
Sure, there are moments of tension and drama, but for the most part, Bakuman is a slow and plodding anime that's more concerned with the inner workings of the manga industry than anything else. It's like watching paint dry, but with more characters and less excitement.
That being said, the characters are likable enough and the animation is decent. And if…

NOTICE: This review covers all seasons of the show.
Bakuman is a fairy tale about two high schoolers, as they try to become famous mangaka. And I say “fairy tale” and not “story” because it is very ideal and easy-going. The problems these guys face are detached from reality; not that different from the boys reading fighting shonen full of juvenile ideals. I mean, how does this premise sound to you when you read it out loud?
“The girl I love and have never spoken to, agrees to marry me as soon as I make my first anime series before I am even 18 years old. My parents, who were against me becoming a mangaka because it is a crappy profession, agree to let me do it because I really want it. My uncle was a famous mangaka and I now get his workshop full of manga and equipment all for free. My s…

So Bakuman season one was so much interesting! The story is about two teenagers decide two write(draw?) manga (Japanese comic).
If you are interested in manga industry, then this show can be so interesting for you though the story is mainly about don't giving up our wishes! So, if you are not interested in manga industry the show can still be interesting for you!
The story has almost no bad point nor has cliche. and the story telling speed is also fine, so you won't find yourself board!
the music is just fine. the openings and endings are good, but the soundtrack is just fine nor good nor bad.
the visual is good and doesn't have an odd character design or not well-done animation(?).
AND characters are maybe the advantage of the series, the characters are real and grow throughout of the an…

Bakuman is a very simple story about 2 middle schoolers who aim to be pro mangakas.
What I really loved about bakuman is that I got to know how really manga writers work, how hard their work is, the steps to make a manga, working towards serialization, meeting with your editor, all brought in a very awesome way. showing how mashiro and takagi is serious about their dream, working hard for it and showing the hardships they encounter and how they overcome it. This show also has some comedy/romance to make the show more warm and wholesome.
Characters: Mashiro strictly is very well written, they exactly show how would any of us as a middleschooler might have reacted to certain situations, he is ambitious and hard working, takagi is the genius who excels at his school and took that into writi…

A (rather) small review of all 3 seasons (because they are really cohesive parts of one story). My overall score is something like 9.5/10.
Pluses:
+ Outstanding and diverse characters. Ironically, I consider Mashiro Moritaka (the main main hero) as the worst one (7/10) for being quite predictable, stubborn, and boring. Almost all other characters are great: they have their strengths and weaknesses, play rather big roles in different plot points and rarely feel obsolete or forgettable. Some are very charismatic.
Best characters imo: Niizuma Eiji (who might have expected?), Hiramaru Kazuya, Yoshida Kouji
+ Interesting and generally pretty great plot for such a setting. Personally, I haven't expected it to be this good. In other words: It's not very active anime, but still feels quite intens…

Bakuman is a perfect show in my eyes(a review of all 3 seasons)
~Spoilers~
Coming from the authors of death note, I had high hopes for bakuman, and to be completely honest, I didn't think it would deliver, but somehow they create a plot so seamless and relatable to anyone trying to accomplish something, it's shocking how good they are at that.
Bakuman is a show that will probably be one of my favorite anime ever, and that's mainly because I'm working as a part time writer as of now, I could relate to takagi so much, especially during the scene where he said that he has so many ideas in his head, but cannot get them down on paper, which creates writers block. That entire arc was insanely relatable and you can clearly tell that the writer has been through it and wrote it through his own expe…

Review based on 2 1/2 seasons (I am currently at Season 3 Ep 17). I will keep it short:
When its a Battle Shounen with Manga(ka), Bakuman is a great 10/10 series. Whenever the focus is solely on Mangaka trying to improve and compete with each other, I greatly enjoyed the series and learned a lot about the Manga Industry, specifically the works of big Shounen Magazines like Jump. This is also when the character drama is at its best, since they are carried by the story. I also greatly enjoy that we don't have "a bad guy" but a bunch of rivals trying to compete and get better. Great stuff!
However, the enjoyment greatly drops down to 4/6 or even 1/10 when the series shifts to romance, which sadly plays a bigger role than expected. Most of the romance is badly written and the premise of the…
