Berserk of Gluttony

Berserk of Gluttony

Introduction

Fate Graphite lives miserably as a gatekeeper in a world where skills given at birth determine an individual's entire life. Afflicted by the seemingly harmful skill Gluttony, which makes him perpetually hungry, he is abused by the holy knights—the supposed protectors of the populace—who view him as a dreg of society due to his skill. However, Fate's destiny takes a dramatic turn after he kills an escaping injured thief. To his surprise, Gluttony activates, enhancing his stats and granting him new skills. Following this epiphanic event, Fate receives a job offer from Roxy Hart, the only benevolent holy knight in the city, which he happily accepts. Eager to further explore Gluttony's true potential, he partners with a mysterious talking sword named Greed, who warns him that Gluttony is a taboo skill that breaks the logic of the world. Now forced to live a double life, Fate must slay monsters at night to satisfy his awakened appetite for souls, lest he go berserk and lose all chances at finding happiness. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

One word... Chūnibyō Oh my lord, this is the ultimate cringe! All the regular Chūnibyō clichés are stacked up a mile high. I don't know if the source material is this bad, but jumping through the air with cheap and nasty speed lines while taking far too long to arrive with a battle cry... gah! It makes me shudder and makes my scrotum retract into my body cavity, with how painful it all is. As per usual for Chūnibyō nonsense, there is far too much posturing, talking and moody looks, with everything taking far too long when a fight should be taking place. It is cheap melodrama for 12 year olds that has dated very badly. I don't know if the original Japanese is as bad as the dub, but the dub adds another layer of cringe to the production, with the hammy depth of chivalry and sincerity in F…

The anime was great, i liked the story line. But there is an ick's, that I must address. First of all, what happened to the animation during the fighting scenes? Why did it look like a fudging game? Did the animators not know how to animate a fighting scene? Did they use AI to create them or something? The way the character moved looked, awful. It was like seeing a fight scene from an actual video game. Was it just me that notice it? Am I just being delusional? Please some, tell me, was it just me that hated that bit of animation. That is the only problem I had with Berserk of Gluttony And I think I have seen the same animation in various anime's like this. Maybe I am being paranoid. I'd rather just read the manga.

The anime is a fantasy/magic story with a classic structure. The protagonist is a loser who discovers a powerful ability and becomes incredibly strong. The animation isn't bad, but it's not the best. The character designs are good, except for the protagonist, who's basically Kirito 2.0. Aside from that, it's entertaining, but it lacks something distinctive; it's somewhat generic, but very well-structured. It knows what it needs to do to entertain, and I'll give it that. The soundtrack is fine, nothing special. The story structure is very well done. What didn't convince me was that the protagonist's decisions don't have real consequences. It's like he never loses, but that's okay. It might be difficult for him to win, but nobody dies. I recommend it if you're looking for a fantasy/magic ani…

This anime is set in a fantasy world where people's destinies are determined by the skills that they are born with. For example, someone with the Identify skill could easily become a successful merchant, or someone with a sword related skill could easily become a knight. But that also means those with useless skills are doomed to a miserable life. Fate Graphite was one such person, or at least he thought he was. As is often the case with such stories, his skill turned out to be overpowered. His skill, Gluttony, doesn't just constantly make him hungry as he originally thought, but allows him to absorb the skills and stats of any monster he slays or person he kills. That would make things too easy though, and this anime is quite edgy, so Gluttony comes at a pretty major cost: he has to cons…

Berserk of Gluttony is one of those anime that hooks you fast with a dark, intriguing concept—but doesn’t always reach its full potential. The story follows Fate Graphite, a boy cursed with the seemingly useless skill “Gluttony.” But as the series unfolds, that curse becomes his greatest weapon—allowing him to devour power, skills, and even souls. What makes this anime stand out is the constant tension between gaining power and losing control. It’s not just about becoming strong—it’s about what that strength costs. The atmosphere is consistently dark, with a medieval fantasy setting that fits the tone well. Fate’s journey from weak outcast to feared warrior is satisfying, especially if you enjoy “zero to overpowered” character arcs. His talking sword, Greed, adds both mystery and a bit o…

Let me start by giving what I love about this anime The concept of a magic like gluttony very cool The talking sword is funny and interesting The main characters voice and some others ( like the sword ) is very good and the skill to change weapons from a bow to a sword and others is very interesting Now the bad parts The animation is very very bad the fights since are horrible even a sparring match can't even be decent in animation Some of the dialog is very cringe not gonna lie which makes it hard to watch the show completely and the characters at meh some are interesting like the girl with the giant axe others not so much But at the end of the day I still watched it till the end because i had nothing to do The concept is very good but thats it Not recommended

If Solo Leveling had more plot and no follow-through. 5/10 TL:DR; A beaten-down, weak guy gets handed some incredible skills and proceeds to make everything more complicated than it should be. It's not a revenge fantasy because the skill made me do it! The Review: This series, both visually and narratively, has a lot going for it. The problem is, it doesn't really explore any of the world it sets up. In the very first episode, we're presented with a society split in two - the skilled elite and the normies. The peasants are generally stuck where they are without abilities to help propel them into adventuring or more lucrative work. Then there are the best of the best, the Holy Knights, who use their power to put the commoners in their place. Sounds kinda interesting, right? Unfortunatel…

German text below -------------------------- Berserk of Gluttony is a 12-part fantasy anime that doesn't skimp on monster blood – but still stays within certain limits. The blood is a different color, and body parts are not severed in too much detail. This makes the series visually bearable despite its brutal moments. The focus is on the young man Fate, who is constantly harassed by the paladins. At least until he accidentally discovers that he has a special skill: he can absorb the souls of his victims and thereby massively increase his attributes. The catch: once the skill is activated, he has to regularly replenish it. So Fate sets out at night to slaughter entire hordes of monsters. But this does not go unnoticed – and so begins a balancing act between his life as a seemingly ordinar…

This one's hard. It's a bit of a trope, it has a definitive charm to it, but at moments it feels rushed and a bit edgy. No complaints on art or animation, although characters are more on the plain side of things. There's not much character development and the plot moves faster due to the limited time of the episodes, it's clear they compressed a manga. The relationship between characters doesn't quite evolve either, and their actions seem poorly reasoned within the plot at times. It's not as bad as it may seem, it's enjoyable and entertaining if you're not expecting a piece of art, that's why it's a 6. I would not personally recommend it to introduce someone to anime, mainly for plot reasons rather than hard to swallow Japanese tropes tho. If you liked SAO you may be a bit more compelle…

I would definitely recommend this if you are into op characters who starts as a weak but has a hidden power locked inside of him. Here we get to see some romance without having harem. Mc only likes one girl here. Only thing I don't like is there is no season 2. Here the story revolves around a boy who received a sin as a power which comes with huge advantage and also has big drawback. Mc doesn't know how to you his powers first and nobody has knowledge what his skill does other than giving him more hunger. So he has to work hard just to fill his stomach. Story is somewhat predictable I guess but it definitely has its unique story which makes it a lot more enjoyable. Animation is good. There i lots action and adventure involved. FMC is very kind and strong here. She liked mc from the begin…

Just another random fantasy action anime, doesn’t do anything better than any of the rest. Full of random cringy dialogue, and plot points that are just buns. Character designs are decent. The setting seemed decent, animation was completely mid. A lot of strange choices with these ones, another of those anime that make you say how the hell did they decide doing this one was a good idea. There seem to be like anywhere of 5 to 10 of these each year that are just so bad and go no where that make you wonder if they just like to set their money on fire or something. I’m not sure why Crunchyroll carries this thing. No real reason to watch something like this over anything else. If you like this go watch solo leveling, or that slime one, they’ll blow your socks off.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but counting on these ratings to do any justice to any anime at all is a mistake everybody should learn from . This one especially . But what can you expect when generic power of friendship shounen are this well recieved in here. Now enough about things that don't matter. This is a solid watch . From the world building to the story. It's not anything that's gonna have you thinking real hard about it,although there is some slight mistery and subverting of expectations . And i have no clue what people are on calling this generic. This anime follows barely any overused tropes. A very good example is how nobody randomly falls in love with the MC or something like that . The really evil guys actually get what's coming to them, the MC isn't some ideal…

Berserk of Gluttony is an anime that deserves to never be spoken of or discussed in any context. It is a complete nothing-burger of a show, that has left me feeling angry at myself for having wasted all this time watching a show that was so mid I can't even pick a specific point of contention to be angry about. Fate Graphite has as much personality as the graphite in a mechanical pencil. Actually, there is more nuance and complexity to a mechanical pencil, as they can come in different sizes or brands which unique uses. Roxy Whateverhernameis is a painfully generic blonde female waifubait. I cannot even muster up enough adjectives to describe her really, because none of the characters have any depth to them beyond just a single word like "nice" or "edgy" ect. Can't forget the necessary 4…

Fate is the main character of this anime. The story starts with him in service to Knights, who should have held a higher standard within the domain they preside over, but that power over others corrupted them and led them to abuse and mistreat those lower in the feudal caste system than they were. These Knights have a bad reputation among all they meet, even Fate, for all other Knights in the domain. One day, Fate meets with Roxy, another Knight, and this sets a new standard and appearance for what Knight should be, leading him and others to a greater expectation of those who watch over them. Eventually, Fate, wanting to protect Roxy, finds activates an inert ability, and later stumbles upon a special, sentient weapon which enables his faster growth in skill and capability. Fate grows stro…

What could have been a dark badass story about a guy cursed with the sin gluttony, who devours the souls of the wicked to quell his hunger, instead spends alot of its time on some lame cringe-worthy "love story" between two very dull uninteresting characters. In fact there are no interesting characters in this. People are either wayyyy too nice, or the bad guys are @ssholes just because we need a cliche group of characters who are jerks to the MC. Its really forced. I was hoping this would be like The Seven Deadly Sins only good...but nope, its not. They both suck. Plot: The main character Fate Graphite is cursed with the useless skill of gluttony. Meaning he is always hungry. However turns out he isn't hungry for food, he is hungry for souls. One night he kills a criminal and absorbs h…

I've seen many others label this as a power fantasy, and of course with a premise that has been given it will be some sort of power fantasy. The issue, however, is that it follows the same negatives with many other animes containing the same MC archetype. The story started out quite well, the characters were given some depth to them and the story/environment was unfolding smoothly. However, it quickly devolves into this power fantasy that is actually annoying. Most power fantasies, I would say, would want to hit the note on focusing on relationships and what the MC isn't able to do (besides fighting or strategizing). Yet, the characters lose their depth and the MC becomes more unlikeable. He's dense, hesitates a lot, has the predictable self-doubt, etc .. Although a power fantasy by tech…

This is another isekai trash featuring an OP main character. In my honest opinion, it is one of the better ones I have seen. If you like "Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, or "Our Last Crusade", this anime is somewhat similar featuring an OP, likeable main character, and his competent counterpart telling a different story. This is similar to other isekai trash featuring an OP main character, but one of the better ones as it suffers a few negatives. The main character is very likeable, and this anime appears to feature more than "main character is OP, slays everything effortless and either tries to hide it or is oblivious to what he can take down." The main plot is romantically driven, but as a secondary driver... and does not feature a harem. The powerful nature of our character has downs…

This show is criminally underrated. Not sure where the hate is flowing from. Perhaps it transcends its trashy OP MC slop and into the realms of respectable anime like Toriko, Naruto, Bleach, and other highly sophisticated offerings. First, to enjoy this, you have to turn your brain off. That should be a given, considering the genre. So, it should be no different than 99% of other animes. Second and despite its title, it's not an edgy villain tale. Finally, it has no harem or ecchi elements. That last one may emotional shake some viewers who are accustomed to le wacky bobs bouncing awry and red-faced floozies. The negatives: it doesn't stop and smell the roses; very little time is spent on training arcs or learning the ropes of his powers. The MC pretty much embraces it, while learning o…

Berserk of Gluttony tries incredibly hard to be cool. This is supposed to be your edgy power fantasy that lets you see your worst enemies suffer hell ten times over. And what do you get? Hell, ten times over. Fate, the main character, is able to communicate with his sword by exchanging thoughts with it. The author thought it would be a silly little joke to write a scene where Fate accidentally replies by speaking out loud instead of using telepathy. Wouldn't that be funny and embarrassing with other people around wondering why he is talking to a sword? No. This joke however is part of the Berserk of Gluttony routine. You get this joke regularly and it baffles me. Repeating the exact same gag, with no twists or changes, again and again is nothing short of insanity. The main issue however…

It has “my first edgelord” vibes, like it has the red eye dark swordsman aesthetic and alone against the world mentality, but isn’t nearly as bleak or exploring the dark side of human nature as its peers. Characters are kinda one-note, which also adds to the “my first edgelord” vibe, they each do their one thing and then either do it again or meander off. The animation also drops off at times, never anything bad but none of the fight scenes are that active. That being said, nothing’s inherently wrong with it, it’s fine, if this style is what appeals to you it’s worth a go
