Code:Breaker

Introduction

Although cheerful and delicate, Sakura Sakurakouji is a skilled martial artist with a sense of fairness that never falters—no matter the situation. Upon witnessing people burning in blue flames while on a bus ride home, she calls the police to bring their murderer to justice only to find that no evidence remains. However, all her doubts about what she saw vanish when the next day, the new transfer student Rei Oogami joins her class; he is the very boy she watched commit murder in cold blood. Rei is kind, sweet, and quickly becomes popular, contradicting Sakura's accusations. Soon enough, she learns his true nature: a Code Breaker, or "one who does not exist." To Sakura's shock, Rei—armed with mysterious powers—seeks to exact justice according to the principle of "an eye for an eye." Determined to bring Rei to the right path, Sakura keeps close to him in the hopes of redeeming him from his ways before others are hurt. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

An anime with an absurd beginning. Few works manage to make such a strong impression on me in the first episode as Code:Breaker. Seriously, the initial episode is excellent. It presents a dark atmosphere, an intriguing premise, and a protagonist who immediately sparks curiosity. The way the story introduces its supernatural elements and its concept of justice is brutal, impactful, and creates the feeling that we are facing something much bigger than a simple action anime. If I were to evaluate only the first episode, the score would probably be much higher. The problem is that, as the series progresses, that initial feeling dissipates. What seemed like a unique narrative full of potential gradually ends up taking more predictable paths. Many of the conflicts begin to follow formulas alr…

Code:breaker had an Really Interesting Beginning while it didn't feature anything that new it was catching enough to make me interested in the Story, which was later ruined by the FeMc which has possibly the most annoying writing in anything i've seen as of recent memory. Pairing that with underwhelming story development the show fell off quite hard. On top of that the Anime doesn't finish the story and ends halfway through which is common but noteworthy. Code:breaker still had some good scenes and interesting plot lines which are intriguing enough that if you just want to watch something without using your brain this is Show is absolutely perfect. tl:dr the show is watchable if you turn off your brain.

This anime is not so popular but I decided it to give it a try nevertheless. This anime is really good. I didn't exactly like the animation but it wasn't so bad either. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and evil for evil", These heroes are the guardians of Japan, but people are not aware of their existence, so they merely protect people from the dark. The mc is a girl who happens to meet one of these heroes known as code breakers by chance. The story soon develops into an interesting and unconventional plot. But to say the truth, to me, the ending seemed kind of incomplete but still a welcome one.

People says Code Breaker is a poor adaptatio, since I didn’tread the manga I will Judge it purely based on anime. Code Breaker isn’t a masterpiece or not even very good show. Yet I can surely say it has tremendous potential. The start was great. But by the second episode, I become very annoyed by leading female character Sakura. She is so annoying that it almost killed my will to watch the show. If the lead Ogami was +ve charge, Sakura was -ve charge. As a result the show was almost going for a big Zero. UNTILL... The premise of the show isn’t good enough to make you glued to screen. But aftet episode 8/9 the show Start becoming more engaging. Supporting characters are good and had better impact that annoying lead female Sakura. But for me the best character was The man who played th…

Where to even start with this train wreck. The basis is what is evil. It centered around special forces we have a group of people with special powers who are erased by the Government to fight crimes they deem evil and beyond the police or justice system. They are the men in black they are non traceable and they murder the bad guys. The plot is basically their lives killing bad guys and then facing the final boss as you may which is an ex member trying to do the right thing by ... killing lots of people. His logic was so flawed however. I love breaking down villains in animes and this villain could have been so much more. However he was written in a way that just felt pointless. I have seen people mention the manga is better and this adaptation is poor. This anime literally blew it with…

MENTALITY Code: Breaker is a standard superpower shounen and one should get into it without having many expectations. Proof of which is the very opening song. It’s a nice dynamic piece, but it shows nothing besides the main characters doing a demonstration of their superpowers. No context besides that; it’s just what it seems. There is enough bravado and flashiness to keep the average viewer somewhat interested to see what will happen but in the long run it is nothing memorable or special. CAST You get Sakura, a high school girl in the role of Ms Pacifism. She is presented as a Mary Sue, perfect in anything, grades, sports, martial arts, and with a perfect morality that makes even boy scouts to feel ashamed. Everybody loves her, everybody wants to be like her, her life is perfect. Until a…

Although the shows initial premise its intriguing: a force of good trying to influence a force of evil, and discuss the morality in different forms of justice, it quickly proves to be be poor in substance. Code:Breaker offers an incoherent plot, two-dimensional characters, and oh so painful dialogue. Not only does the show often fail to answer the questions it poses, but it actively presents something idiotic whenever it does offer something to think about. The action scenes are fun to watch. The art style and animation are good, and the different powers that characters have make for entertaining fights. If flashiness alone isn't enough to justify watching something for you, then there is no good reason to watch Code:Breaker.

Think this is a ripoff of Blue Exorcist because the main character has black hair, blue flames, and the same seiyuu as Rin Okumura? Well, you're wrong; those are all just very big coincidences. I don't know why this is rated so low? I mean, maybe the people that've seen it have read and prefer the manga, I don't know. I'm gonna read the manga next, so I guess I'll see, but this anime still felt really amazing to watch. So, the art and sound were pretty average. I like the opening and ending, but in between, the music was touch and go. The Code:Breakers have special abilities that probably could've been translated a little better to screen than they were, but it was still interesting artwork. The voice acting was on point. I loved it. I don't normally point out voice acting when I rev…

I'll be 100% honest, i wanted to drop the anime after the first episode. Be warned, this anime is very dark. And it doesn't get any lighter. The art reminds me of anime from the late 90's - early 00's. Doesn't look at all like a 2012 anime. Character development was ok, could have been better. I was NOT a fan of this anime. It just didn't have the right appeal, and took everything way too seriously. Anime has to have some humor and comedy involved, IMO. MC is OP, but that's really the only selling point of this anime. if you like dark and murderously anime, then this is one for you.

Codebreaker is a bad anime. Short and simple. The main characters Sakura and Ogami are flat, poorly developed and often behave and react to situations in ways that don't really make sense. The dialogue in this show is also horrible where Ogami will shout the same cringy mantra (AN EYE FOR AN EYE A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH AND EVIL FOR EVIL!!!!!) over and over again and the overall. The characters do such a poor job in this show that you lose interest in the plot. BUT... Despite all this, I would highly recommend this show and that is for one reason. This show is so bad that it actually turns around and becomes enjoyable. I personally had a blast watching this anime and would highly recommend watching it with friends. Especially for those of you who have a taste for ironic humor. Seriously, I ca…

If you have watched a few of the first episodes and are bored and planning to drop it, don't. I was the same. Code:Breaker is not a masterpiece or some really great anime, but it is good and enjoyable. The story or idea seemed good enough but there were two flaws I caught. One is how irrational the antagonist's plan/idea is. Considering how experienced and good he is, it just seems plain stupid how he could turn his life down the path of such a flawed logic. The second is how each of their powers are fluctuating. Their strengths keep changing. What I mean is, they lose to people whom they could easily have beaten. Another thing I'd like to mention is how *SPOILER* Code01's electricity is superior to all the other powers, even Code04's Magnetism. Seriously? That's just scientifically w…

Code: Breaker kind of bothers me, I've been pondering for 5 minutes on how to start this review but with all my thoughts and ideas I can't even fathom a way to make this opening paragraph seem enticing to the reader. You might be thinking that this is because of lazy writing or that I'm not on my A-game because I barely have the time or enthusiasm to write these anymore. But.. It's not that. No, the reason I can't say anything for this anime in my aimless opening paragraph is simply because this anime is so average. So mediocre. So normal. That's not to say it's bad. I'm hardly ready to grab my torch and pitch-fork over the 13 episodes I was exposed to, but I am ready to give you a long sigh and a little insight as to why I find Code: Breaker so hard to praise. Story - The World of Code:…

This anime had a lot of potential, but for me its biggest flaw was how it handled its female characters, particularly the lead, Sakura. This review may have mild spoilers so don't read it if you intend to watch the anime. 1. It's frustrating to see a teenage girl THIS oblivious and idealistic in today's world. All that comes out other mouth are the words - please, stop, I beg you, you are wrong, don't do this, no, blah blah blah. I'm assuming her role was to act as the moral compass to Code Breaker 6's staunch ideals, but she only came across as a whiny, useless teenage girl. 2. She is trained in martial arts and yet her best weapons are her tears. All she does is cry and beg for evil people to NOT be killed. Wow. 3. The man:woman ratio. In a world where half the population is female, t…

(I try to keep my reviews short and sweet and straight to the point without giving away spoilers with that said lets get this show on the road) Code Breaker is anime that catches your attention at first but then it let's you down. Story line- The story line lacked a clear direction as it stared and it never recovered. The whole thing felt rushed, "like lets just throw a whole but of stuff and see what happens". Nonetheless, it did have a plot and mediocre ending. Nothing heart stopping, jaw dropping or tear jerker. Overall the whole story line was bland. Art & Sound- These aspects of the anime were nicely done. Character- There was no character development aspects to the story. My personal opinion is that there were so few characters for one of them not to make an impression on me. Bas…

Let me start out by saying Code Breaker is not a waste of your time, but with that being said, it is certainly an anime rife with squandered potential. This anime could have been amazing, but instead it came out just sub-par. There are a few reasons I believe the anime was lacking what could have brought it to greatness. I have a problem with quite of few of the logical inequities throughout the anime, but the character that bother me the most was: Sakura—not only arrogant in her ideals, she was willing to endanger others for her own deluded perception of right and wrong, and cared little about the consequences, other than enabling what she thought was right to be the only justification. The anime tries to be too ruthless and sappy at the same time, bringing about an obnoxiously contrad…

Good and bad. Virtues or evils. Right and wrong. Oh hell can it be such a trivial trial to choose one, let alone be dedicated to one. Here's one that I personally believe; Anyone and everyone has the potential to do good, be good, and be for good. However this means that someone can be good, even if they are classified as bad, evil, or wrong. But how should I act when I see something go against what I believe could be goodness acted, instead of their evils acted? Do I fight fire with fire? When heat comes to me, should I bring the heat back to them? Do I ignore the fire? Will the problem give up or will it persist unhindered? Do I control the fire? As long as it is maintained, it wont be a problem right? Do I kill the fire? Extinguishing the problems means it will go away permanently m…

I stumbled across this anime quite by accident and the first episode- intrigued me. It was gripping and attention grabbing however the series for me soon became a chore rather than something to enjoy. I think the overall story is very good with some moments that did affect me emotionally however I have not read the manga and still feel like this story wasn't presented in the best way. The female protagonist seems like she has some interesting back story that is hinted at but never properly explored and she can fight but never seems to put this to use. It seems to me they added the fact she can fight to make her seem like a strong female. The antagonist’s motivation is still not legitimate enough for me, it seems fake and shoe horned in just so it seems more tragic he's evil. The sound was…

After just finishing all the Code:Breaker episodes, I must say that I am extremely disappointed. As a lot of the reviews already mentioned other aspects of why the series didn't run well, I am here to discuss my overall disappoint in the character Sakura. As she was one of the main leads, I had great expectations until the very last episode waiting for the final moment were she wasn't a useless, stereotypical whiny teenage girl. As seen in the beginning, she has a brilliant talent in martial arts and is supposedly a very capable fighter, but in the entire series never really did anything with it which was a huge disappointment. And when she was discovered as a 'rare breed' and had the power to nullify others powers, I kept thinking that we would see much more of her exploring it and other…

This anime loosely adapts to the manga. It contains the main points of the manga and for me that is fine. If the show started following the anime then loosely interprets it is when I do not like it. The girl tries to change the views of her friends who call themselves code breakers. Code breakers go about ridding the world from evil by killing them using special abilities. These people break the code of law, which is why the received their name. The girl travels with her friends on the assignments given to them by the prime minister. As she knows them better she wants to make them realize that death is not the answer. It is not simple as an evil for evil like her friends say. Another person agrees with her, but in the opposite direction thus the code breakers gather to save the city.…
