DRAMAtical Murder

DRAMAtical Murder

Introduction

Some time ago, the influential and powerful Toue Inc. bought the island of Midorijima, Japan, with the plans of building Platinum Jail—a luxurious utopian facility. Those who are lucky enough to call it home are the wealthiest citizens in the world. The original residents of the island, however, were forced to relocate to the Old Residential District; and after the completion of Platinum Jail, they were completely abandoned. "Rib" and "Rhyme" are the most common games played on the island. Rib is an old school game in which gangs engage in turf wars against each other, while Rhyme is a technologically advanced game wherein participants fight in a virtual reality. To be able to play Rhyme, you must have an "All-Mate" (an AI that typically looks like a pet), and the match must be mediated by an "Usui." Aoba Seragaki has no interest in playing either game; he prefers to live a peaceful life with his grandmother and All-Mate, Ren. However, after getting forcefully dragged into a dangerous Rhyme match and hearing rumors about disappearing Rib players, all of Aoba's hopes of living a normal life are completely abolished. Dear lord... Who is this anime for, really? If ypu didn't play the original visual novel, that this anine is (kinda) based on: I strongly recommend you skipping this obe and go play the game instead. It's so much better to enjoy the story that way and you will get the actual whole picture. If you played the visual novel and want to see the characters move...go for it I guess. Unfortunately for all fans of the original BL game, you won't find any L in here. And since that was the main part of the story honestly, there is nothing much left. I addition to that you have basically all 5 different routs combined and pressed into 12 episodes. The characters have not enough time on screen to really connect to. You get basically a speed run of each route in one episode and a somewhat strange shift…

After my previous review got deleted so how do we review it in a more polite language. Dramatical Murder is an anime with a confusing and convoluted story that is difficult to follow. The plot is riddled with inconsistencies and plot holes, making it hard to invest in the world and the characters. Speaking of characters, the main cast of Dramatical Murder is bland and uninteresting. The protagonist, Aoba, lacks any real depth or personality, and the supporting characters are forgettable at best. The music in this anime is also lackluster. The soundtrack fails to capture the emotion and energy of the scenes, making it difficult to feel invested in the story. Overall, I cannot recommend watching Dramatical Murder. It was a struggle to get through, and the lack of engaging characters, plot…

The anime was boring as balls, the animation was poor as balls, the creators were probably broke as balls, and there was a severe lack of balls themselves if you compare this to the game. I'm a big fan of DMMD, as in the game, I hate the anime. While watching this, I was literally so bored and I did not know what was going on whatsoever. The storyline was jumbled, it barely even made any of the characters seem interesting at all, and I was so lost I genuinely didn't want to finish it but I pushed through and it was not worth it. I'll keep this review short, but holy shit if you don't mind a bit of porn I really recommend you play the VN instead of watching this garbage. The main reason why I think this is garbage is because I HATE shows that make you feel like you don't know what the fu…

This show is so bad it's good at times. As a fan of the games (get them on steam/JAST, it's cheap and better than the anime!), I mostly watched it to see some of my favourite scenes animated. I think it's supposed to be watched after you play the games, and that's the only way I'd recommend it, can't imagine anyone getting into DMMd from just watching the anime alone. It's really poorly produced, so much so that it was incredibly funny to watch, but we did also get a bunch new songs SO as bad as it was I'm grateful it happened :) also them actually having Clear sing his jellyfish song was great, as a Clearfan I am content. All in all the story is incredibly rushed, I don't think I'd have absorbed anything from it just watching it alone. Support the game! Don't have your experience ruine…

I haven't played the visual novel of Dramatical Murder and probably don't plan to in the near future because I don't like too much gore, but the character designs really appealed to me, so I thought let's give the anime a try instead. Honestly, I loved it. I wasn't expecting the plot to be this deep and thought-provoking. I'm a hardcore fan of the Persona series, and I feel Dramatical Murder had elements of the self-acceptance themes that Persona has too, so I really enjoyed it. I found Clear's story to be the most heart-warming out of all, plus his melodious jelly fish song is just the icing on the cake. I feel like the anime was kinda rushed though and it could have had more episodes, but then it's an anime adaptation of a visual novel so I get that they sped up through certain parts. I…

This is the opinion from someone that loves the game to death and even bought it. Honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought. Spoilers ahead especially in the story part Story : The pacing is just horrible. What were they thinking ?? At the start the story is going nicely but once in Platinum Jail the story takes us by the hand and drags us, without letting time to catch up what's going on. Because of that important character arcs are brushed to the side and scenes that hold so much meaning feel flat. I also can't understand some decisions like with Ren's worm. Why making Noiz remove it in the first place if Ren get infected by one in the end ? They could have taken a different scene from his route. This horrible pacing don't help with the fact that Dmmd story is very complicated in the firs…

Okay, this is my first review but I thought this was necessary (and this got so much longer than I planned but oh well) Is the DMMd anime worth watching? My answer is, well... it depends Have you played the game? Did you like it and want more content? Then yeah, it can be a good idea. The animation itself isn't that great and the story is very rushed, but if you're already familiar with it and are only looking forward to seeing the characters you like again, it can be pretty enjoyable. It was for me at least. But, if you haven't played the game... unless you don't plan on playing it at all but still want to have an idea of what DMMd is all about, I certainly wouldn't recommend it. All that will happen (besides getting spoilers in case you want to play the game someday) is that you'll ge…

For only 12 episodes based on a game, the anime actually is one of the best I watched. Compared to other game to anime adaptations, that one is actually well adapted in my opinion (I only watched a gameplay of noiz route, so I have an idea what the game story is about). The music is my only issue, but anything else is well made. The characters are memorable, the story is great and the pace is fine in my opinion. I wish it was a little bit longer , so it could explores more aspects of the story. Still overall I loved the anime and I stand behind the score I gave it.

This is an anime whose opening song lyrics already can't prepare you for what is to come. As soon as hear the synth that sounds like a fart and man aimlessly singing an impossible to follow melody as he lets you know: "actual feel so fool / runabout run / peel a boy so good" you realize you're in for a treat. Full disclosure, I've never played the game and I never will but I WAS on tumblr in 2013 or so and I remember seeing this guy with the ugliest jacket I've ever seen EVERYWHERE. All I knew, and all I frankly know now, is kids should definitely not have been playing it. In general I think you're better off dead than interacting with any DMMD properties. The anime is unapologetically terrible. Nothing makes sense, I still don't know what even happened but that's what happens when you t…

Dramatical Murder is a beautiful, thoughtful, story-rich game with well thought out characters and great romantic plots and a detailed and engaging overall plot (despite it being a romance-based game) This anime is none of those things. I'm pretty sure I cried. I told people to watch this and I felt full of shame and embarrassment as it progressed. trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post trying to make this long enough to post Music was sick tho

let's not kid ourselves here lads, this is not a good anime. The plot of this is anime isn't that good; maybe they told it better in the game, but this anime certainly didn't do a good job of it. It is interesting though and it has a lot of potential but the execution is bad. We're told so much information at the halfway point mark that it feels like they're spoon feeding us all of it cause they didn't bother showing us anything; they didn't even give us any good subtle hints about what is going on - we got information about things that we didn't even thought about wanting to know. We don't get to be enticed and curious about things; the big secret of the main character isn't subtly hinted at all; it was one of the very few things that we were showed instead of told, and they messed that…

I was looking for a BL anime such as given or yuri on ice. I saw this one was apart of the BL genre and was also considered an action anime as well so I was very excited to start an anime with two genres I really enjoy. After finishing this anime, it was not as I expected it to be. There was barely any BL in the anime other than a kiss and maybe some borderline bromance but that was it. I did not see any romantic relationships develop. So I was pretty disappointed on the romance and BL scale. The action scale was a little bit better. After seeing the first Rhyme fight I was super interested in seeing more of fights like that and such. But again, there was not that much action other than a few scenes throughout the anime. I heard while watching this anime that this was an anime adaptation…

I so wanted this to be a good anime, because some of the art is seriously impressive. Problem is, it doesn't matter how cool it looks when the story line is probably one of the worst I've come across period... It would be nice if the main character wasn't the most stereotypical good guy protagonist too, but by the time you're a quarter of the way through, you've already learned to lower your expectations. You can't relate to the characters, and if you think for a moment your gonna get enough character development to know why the HELL they all keep following the crappy protagonist, then you're wrong. For perspective, I literally do not even remember his name.

The game maybe bl but I’m not sure if this series entirely qualifies. At best, I’d say it was BL curious. Some characters were entirely devoid of life and development, like Sei, who not only had hardly any place in the entire series but barely even says a couple sentences. Aoba’s outfit looked a bit extravagant for someone working at such a mom & pop store plus he’s wearing a coat all the time and headphones, that he never uses. It makes it look like no real attention was given to his look relative to his habits or his income. Noiz, honestly makes absolutely no sense to me and neither does any of his entire story arc. Who in their right mind has dinner with an intruder who basically attacked them earlier? Then, he asks him to play when joining after helping him, but that ‘help’ never happe…

Now I LOOOOve the Persona Series/movies/etc. but Dramatical Murder is even better then persona for reasons I cant quite place. I find similarities from Persona and Danganronpa which personally is my favourite genre (excuse the biasis). The sound seemed a bit off at times - i blamed my internt until i replayed the scene so its the movie not me. I saw Clear's face a bit wider at one point that reeeally threw me off due to the scene. Other then that, awesome show. Possibility of being a rewatchable show but i'm not gonna say it isnt re-watchable. Going to watch the sequel to this as i'm hyped after the ending (even though it was a clear and clean ending that didnt NEED to have a sequel BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING!)

Shallow history and events without foot or head. Very very very shallow characters, introduced from nowhere and without explanation. The only woman present is the grandmother of the main character. The main character seems to want to set up a harem of boys in the building called Glitter and makes a loving mood with all the men in the story who by the way have only effeminate men. Overall, the characters seem to have loving feelings for the main character who acts lovingly with everyone. In addition, the main character demonstrates a love for his robot dog as if it were a real dog which sometimes gets kind of childish. In general, the characters have difficulty speaking how they feel and end up solving things in the punch and then everyting is ok !! Also, the main character who didn't know…

If anything could be explained with this entire "series" it could be used to explain the further fetishization of homosexuality (mainly with males, and there is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone of your own gender.) But let me continue here, whilst the series features an average and meh as well as the forgettable soundtrack, the whole series tries to focus on some giant fetishized Terminator-like series with robots that are like humans, but no NO. They do not kill you, you become their "servant" and it's filled with tons of dumb sexual content. The only people who will flock to this and praise it are young-aged white girls with daddy issues, depressed normie gays, and some weird fucks.

I had low expectations of DRAMAtical Murder going into it. I was expecting it was going to be average, maybe even above that. Well, it didn't even do that much. I'm going to do my best to be fair in this review, but this anime is VERY rough around the edges. Let me try to explain. The story of DRAMAtical has some serious problems. To begin with, the story has no rising action, or climax to speak of. At no point was I excited or blown away by where the story was going, or what it was trying to do. There are a lot of characters whose main purpose is to deliver plot. DRAMAtical Murder does a lot of "Tell, don't show." There were moments of potential, but never go any further beyond that. The art style of DRAMAtical Murder is probably its strongest point. The art style isn't bad to look at.…

If you guys didn't know, DRAMAtical MURder is a BL [Boy's Love/YAOI] anime based off of a dating sim/visual novel. The game is very NSFW -Not Safe For Work- for it has R18+ content. The anime itself, is very Shounen-Ai like so there aren't any R18+ scenes. Also, romance isn't the genre of this anime, there may be hints of it, but it isn't. When i say DRAMAtical MURder is a BL, I mean it as in the game, the characters are $!&#*^# Aoba's ass. The anime is very hard to understand in the beginning, but it doesn't mean it's bad. Most anime based from dating sims aren't clear, only because they want you to buy the full game to understand the plot and for the NSFW content. Story | 07 I found it interesting that certain areas of the city has game zones where people fought each other. Because I…

I have not played the Dramatical Murder game, however I decided I was going to watch it due to a friend recommending it too me. If you have not played the game, or watched a playthrough, I hihgly recomend NOT watching the animated adaptation. The plot was extrmely slow, i wasn't genuinely interested until the last 2 and a half episodes, and even then it was a weak interest. I found the plot rather hard to follow because there were many plotholes, unanswered questions, things that just didn't add up and more. I wanted to know more about the characters backgrounds, and who they were--really the only two characters that had any background explanation was Aoba and Koujaku, and even then it was EXTREMELY weak explanation. I also felt like there where gaps in what happened as well. One scene…
