Since its release, I have watched this trilogy twice before reading the VN, but after reading it, this is my first rewatch.
While I think this trilogy is good, it could have been great if each movie had an extra 30 minutes; it feels rushed and shorter than it should be.
But the biggest flaw that really made the experience worse is that, just like Unlimited Blade Works, the internal dialogue of the main character, Shirou, is absent, which makes him seem bland and uninteresting; he is a broken person pretending to be normal, but the anime makes him seem like he is just a stereotypical one-dimensional shounen MC.
Despite its flaws, I still can't deny how much I enjoyed it. I appreciate the effort that went into making it despite the limited runtime they were forced to work with; it doesn'…

It's been a long time since I saw anything from the Fate franchise, but I decided to just go ahead and watch the Heaven's Feel movies for shits and giggles specifically because of that. A quick recap: I was introduced to Fate through Fate/Zero back when I was a young and impressionable weeb still developing my taste, and since then it has, sadly, cast a shadow on every other anime in the franchise. I feel like most entries in the Nasuverse (or beyond) are not even half the show Zero is, (and still do, after a multitude of rewatches) and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works was absolutely no exception. In fact, I like to say it is mathematically HALF the show Zero is; all the style, none of the substance.
That was my assessment back when it aired, at least. Hot off the philosophic undert…

I should clarify that I had to evaluate this movie a bit differently, because it’s actually the first act of the trilogy, an introductory arc. If I judged it as a fully self-contained film, its writing would fall apart. However, to be fair, Presage Flower was never meant to stand on its own.
It’s also necessary to have at least watched Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and it’s recommended to have seen the Fate route and Fate/Zero as well. This film also has a much more seinen and sober tone.
Note: Some readers may consider parts of this review to contain light spoilers, but no major plot points are revealed.
1. Narrative (30%)
I have to take this part carefully, because this is just the introductory arc. It is not a standalone movie.
There are strong points: the film does not wa…

This is a general review of all 3 Heaven's Feel films.
I couldn't stop laughing at Shirou's stinkin six-pack.
Been waiting to see this for such long time! I've grown to really love the Fate series over the years and have loved seeing all the different interpretations and story paths that it has to offer. All of which are incredible and stand on their own as one of the best experiences I've ever had in anime! And throughout all my time with Fate, I have CONSTANTLY been wanting more time to be spent delving into the life of Sakura. Because, to put it bluntly, you can't just show me Fate/Zero and expect me to just forget and move on from that! If ya know, ya know! But like, HOW they could've kept me in the dark for so long after making me witness THAT, I have no idea! But it finally paid of…

Honestly, I really liked this film! It does a great job reintroducing Fate/stay night’s plot, and swiftly moving forward into the Heaven’s Feel narrative, something a similar film, Evangelion: You Are (Not) Alone, failed to do, which subsequently left the first leg of that film feeling rushed and unnatural. The pacing is noticeably faster than Unlimited Blade Works, but that’s a compromise that must be made with the film trilogy format. HF handles it well, playing on implied events and prior knowledge to save time. The animation and soundtrack are godly and worthy of great praise. And the story is nothing if not tragic, and that’s to its benefit, the horror of HF is sufficient to keep it out of UBW’s shadow. However, Sakura is as poorly written as ever, for the main heroine of our story sh…

Having finished reading the VN not too long, I had some very high expectations of this routes adaptation as I thought UBW's was great, not perfect, but entirely servicable to the original material.
I can only really call it a mess. Started off strong with the anime original scenes of Sakura and Shirou's past until it devolved into a rushed empty, yet flashy, blur. I started tuning out halfway through, conversations would leave out so many details from the VN and then just end and quickly move onto the next scene. Just a lot of flashy animation without any of the VN's substance. I'll just watch a few of the fight scenes and move on because that's all this adaptation really gets right.

Seems i am proven right again by the masses that i should form my own opinion by watching it myself,as im shocked by the quite low score of this movie compared to the quality. And so should you really.
As for a more objective opinion, i slugged through even the biggest slops anime has to offer, im proud to say i've only dropped 1 anime to date, and my portofolio is way bigger then what i registered on this site. One hand is more then enough to count the anime that raise to the quality of this piece of art, itself included. The quality in sound and animation alone is equal to none. The story itself doesn't fall far behind. If there ever was one series that deserved an actual perfect score is this one.
Plenty of people from what i was able to gather mostly dislike this movie series also bec…

Very tough movie to love and digest since it (faithfully) adapts very specific and in my opinion the best route in Fate Stay Night series - Heaven's Feel aka Sakura Matou Route. Knowing damn well this is just the beginning of PEAK route, many fans (who're not familiar with it) will be disappointed to see how some of their faves end. Other than that, it's easily the worst out of three films, but still very faithful. Just a bit too boring.
Story often strays away and it is very weird and odd to follow considering the fact that it literally adapts everything left out of the other routes. Some servants meet their grisly demises and Lancer gets one of the best anime fights in recent history. The only problem, like I said before, is that the first movie is just too long and sometimes it drags o…

If you are an anime only kind of person and don't read manga, light novels or visual novels, don't bother watching this if you haven't at least seen Unlimited Blade Works anime first. But even then, you might still struggle to understand what's going on. Heaven's Feel part 1 had amazing visuals, animation, and music, but the story telling was not up to par. The pacing of story related scenes seemed fast and some of the dialogue disjointed. Transitions between scenes were often abrupt and had little explanation for why did they suddenly visit the temple or why were they just strolling around town. I had originally thought about going into the movie "blind" in that I had only seen fate/zero and Unlimited Blade Works anime up that point, but decided to read the visual novel first. I'm glad I…

So far I just finish the first movie. I watched Fate/Zero and Fate/Grand Order but not Fate/Stay Night (dropped it before first episode kind of)
Sakura is very good and very likable most of the time. Somewhat confusing occasionally, but may be it is just that Shirou does not take full advantage of a girl like her. I would totally exploit her obedience to the maximum.
I thought Heaven's Feel is about her and her route, but she is not getting enough screen time.
Saber and Rider are also likable in this route so far.
Rin actually helpful and useful, but she is still her usual unlikable tsundere snob.
Shinji Matou is a better Shinji, but he is no Gilgamesh.
Story and battles are somewhat pointless compare to Fate/Zero
I guess I can give the first movie a somewhat better score since Sak…

The Fate series is bizarre to say the least. This is one of the parts of the Fate franchise that the most people miss out on. Heaven’s Feel is a trilogy of Movies animated by Ufotable. It’s the Sakura route of the Fate/Stay Night anime and it’s an amazing addition to a series packed with great action and visuals. This review will be more focused on those who have some experience with the fate franchise, especially since I think few who are considering watching these movies wouldn’t have already watched Fate Zero or Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works at least. Before going any further I also want to say that I’m reviewing the entire trilogy of movies in this review since they are effectively one anime that has movie like animation.
If you’ve already watched Unlimited Blade Works you mi…

Third iteration of Fate/Stay to be adapted into an anime after the Fate and UBW routes, Heaven's Feel is known as the darkest of the 3. If it doesn't necessarily show too much on this first movie, we feel that Ufotable (probably sticking closely to the Visual Novel) wants to offer something more original compared to the anime, less conventional, which doesn't look like a series edited into movies. The film takes its time, it's slower, more contemplative, much (much) less talkative than the anime (especially UBW).
For those who would be tempted to go straight to the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy "because I don't want to waste time watching the anime series", it's better to warn you that you won't understand anything without having a solid base on at least one of the two anime: Fate/Stay Nigh…

So with the final movie being released on Blu ray I finally got around to start watching this trilogy. As a massive fan of Heavens Feel, Ufotable and Fate in general my expectations were quite high and for the most part in this first entry I don't think they let me down and I am excited to jump into the others.
Story: 9
As the first part of a trilogy adapting the final route of a three route VN (of which only one route has previously been "properly" adapted), Presage flower has quite the shoes to fill in filling people in on missing details that the prior adaptation skipped as well as things that only the first route showed. Thankfully I believe this did an excellent job while also adding some welcome new scenes to further flesh out the relationship between the two mains. The general plot…

Hello and welcome to my Fate/Stay night heavens feel I review.
Story: This is the final anime adapted rout of the stay night visual novel. The other being the original stay/ night in 2009 and the unlimited blade works rout adapted in 2014 ( we don't talk about the movie.) This is a movie trilogy with absolutely beautiful animation and a insane story to follow unlike any of the the other versions. This is a direct sequel to fate/zero. It features sakura as the main protagonist and assassin may have something to do with it... overall a really good take on one of the stay/night stories and a near perfect adaptation.
8/10
Art: What do I really have to say about the art in the fate series, its god's work plain and simple. Unfotable animated this movie, the other two heavens feel movies as we…

Fate/Stay Night is a visual novel from 2004, with the main storyline being adapted into and anime in 2006, a much better prequel series being released in 2011 and another anime adaptation of the original visual novel, this time of a different route, being released in 2015, by the same studio that made the prequel series. I’m sorry if this sudden bombardment of information confuses anyone that might be new to the Fate franchise but I bring this up because quite honestly, all of this information is necessary.
Heaven’s feel is the third major storyline from the original visual novel, and seeing as how by the time the first film was released, the second storyline’s adaptation, Unlimited Budget Works, had basically just finished. Heaven’s Feel assumes that you at least have that basic knowledg…

We changed the route in these movies, let's see what happens. First of all, it has a movie animation, that is, it is very very good, the character development is good, it develops other secondary ones. There are also moments in the plot that are nods to the other animes of fate and how things were asked and said. There is a moment where rin in an anime, asks the protagonist if he doesn't mind that he is adopted and tells him no because he was with good people, that if he had been with bad people he wouldn't have liked it or had a good time. And in this anime Rin's sister asks the protagonist that, understanding that she does have a hard time being adopted. I was drugged the last part of the movie so that was the best if you see the drugged fights it's much more flashy. I recommend it if yo…

Look at you! You ended up here in a round about way after starting the Fate series anime. You probably took some time to research how you should even start this anime since there are probably 5 ways to go about it.
Let me help you! Do not start here first. You will get some spoilers, but start at Zero. Really.
The best way to look at this would be like a series of games you enjoyed. You played the first one, and want to keep going with the other 4 to follow some sort of linear path forward. Unfortunately for you, it's more like a "choose your ending" storybook type game that you can play from different angles with the same main character.
Stay Night, UBW movie, UBW series, and these movies are all about the 5th Holy Grail war. Each one is different in its own way, and has a lot of wha…

For me, Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - I is just like a recap of UBW 1st Season, but with different perspectives and series of event.
I was quite confused when I saw that the first part of Heaven's Feel was just an alternative version of UBW 1st season, so it made me more curious. Even though it was an alternative, the series of event still never failed to impress me. I love the art and animations more especially during the action scenes. I was about to skip the first movie because I thought it was just a RECAP, but I just decided to reconsider it because Fate series became my favorite anime recently and it just never fails to impress me.
I recommend you to watch UBW first before the Heaven's Feel movies, so that you can understand the pacing of events.

I've always been a huge fangirl of ufotable and I've loved fate/zero so much.
So much, that I began to wonder why didn't I rewatch that instead of wasting my time on this?
It's so boring and underwhelming af. I've lost count of how many times Sakura has said, "sEnpAI". Sakura and Shirou are the most boring af characters in this anime lmao. Sakura is just there for the male gaze; emphasized E cups, no personality at all whatsoever other than playing the housewife.
And wtf is Shirou for? He's like a wet carpet, there's nothing appealing to him at all and all he's done is whine about his past and go on about being the hero of justice.
The pacing is so weird; everyone is just dying randomly. Less epic fights, more szEnpai. I miss my Gilgamesh and Saber.
Compared to previous premises, t…

Before we get started, know that the trio of Fate/Stay Night movies follow the events of Fate/Zero as a direct sequel. In addition, there are plenty of hints that is made to assume you've watched Unlimited Blade Works. So I'll assume you've seen them for the purposes of this review. It's not necessarily required, but if you're a fan of this type of Fate story, I recommend you watch the aforementioned series first anyway.
Story: Fate/Stay Night Movie: Heaven's Feel takes place ten years after the Holy Grail War in Fate/Zero had ended. However, it's set in an alternate time than Unlimited Blade Works (UBW) so you have to kind of forget that UBW existed when you watch this movie. It's just an entirely different storyline. For the most part, this movie follows Shirou around as he builds a rel…
