How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord

Introduction

When it comes to the fantasy MMORPG Cross Reverie, none can match the power of the Demon King Diablo. Possessing the game's rarest artifacts and an unrivaled player level, he overpowers all foolish enough to confront him. But despite his fearsome reputation, Diablo's true identity is Takuma Sakamoto, a shut-in gamer devoid of any social skills. Defeating hopeless challengers day by day, Takuma cares about nothing else but his virtual life—that is, until a summoning spell suddenly transports him to another world where he has Diablo's appearance! In this new world resembling his favorite game, Takuma is greeted by the two girls who summoned him: Rem Galeu, a petite Pantherian adventurer, and Shera L. Greenwood, a busty Elf summoner. They perform an Enslavement Ritual in an attempt to subjugate him, but the spell backfires and causes them to become his slaves instead. With the situation now becoming more awkward than ever, Takuma decides to accompany the girls in finding a way to unbind their contract while learning to adapt to his new existence as the menacing Demon King. Different and funny, good for passing the time. Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu is the kind of anime you start watching without expecting much and end up having much more fun than you imagined. The premise is relatively simple and follows several classic isekai tropes, but the difference lies precisely in the protagonist's personality and the way the anime works the comedy around it. The story follows Takuma Sakamoto, an extremely skilled player of an MMORPG who was known in the game as the powerful Demon King Diablo. The problem is that, despite being absurdly strong in the game, in real life he is extremely shy, insecure, and practically incapable of socializing normally with other people. When he ends up being summoned to another world exactly in the form of his charac…

Note: This will be a review of both seasons. Overview: Ever since it evolved into what it is today, the isekai genre is one that has been very hit-and-miss. Some isekais prove to be highly memorable, succeeding in standing out from the crowd and leaving a lasting impression in the minds of many people. Others, on the other hand, provide viewers with the same old generic fantasy we've all seen a hundred times before, and as a result are forgotten in a few years, if that. "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord" falls somewhere in the middle, being a highly enjoyable series that just about manages to put forward its own identity, even if it ultimately can't help but fall back on cliches at times. Story (7/10): "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord" opens with two young adventurers, the panther demi-huma…

Well, i've missed a good ecchi anime so i've rewatched this first season after all these years, and this is one anime that honestly holds. As far as isekai go this is a top contender . And im saying this unironically. Never on the level of real masterpieces like Mushoku but it's a real gem in the genre. It's also a ecchi anime that doesn't hold much back, and it's a breath of fresh air compared to most anime that appeared recently. They don't really show anything but they really limbo around that line for the most part. And lastly, it does a pretty good job of portraying an OP character. The animation isn't any masterclass ,but it's solid and it still looks good. And the best part about it all is CGI only appears in like one scene, everything else is hand-drawn and i really appreciate that…

A few years ago, I decided to watch this anime. At first, the first two or three episodes didn’t really convince me. As is often the case with isekai, it had the usual clichés: an overpowered hero summoned to another world, very stereotypical female characters—but that didn’t really bother me. Finding the beginning a bit boring, I put it on hold to focus on other anime. But recently, stumbling upon it again in my watchlist, I decided to start over from the beginning… and honestly, I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much! What a surprise! An isekai with a coherent story, a plot that develops with real logic, and above all, some truly memorable OSTs that play a key role in the immersion. I even took the time to listen to the season 1 soundtrack calmly after finishing the series—that’s how much…

Random hikikomori gets isekai'd as his overpowered game character etc etc etc. We all know the idea and honestly, this show wasn't terrible at it (if you like trash isekais as a pastime thing, of course). Other than being silly and predictable with an OP MC, which is something I can get around, there is only one but MAJOR downside to this anime: even for japanese standards, the ped0ph1lia in this one is freakish. All these common themes (ecchi, harem, "lolis") are creepy and at some point straight up boring/annoying, and showing up in media targeting not only but mainly children and teens is super problematic. Overall, it's just a trash predictable isekai (which is the good part!) but with "fanservice" (if you can really call it that) scenes being too long and no efforts having been made…

Another nothing burger. Sort of almost plot, however again nothing really happens. The world-building is at least almost passable. The characters are bland, the story is bland, and the romance feels creepy and weird, which Ill get to. The magic system is bland and basic. The animation isn't bad, but it also isn't good. Nothing about this show stand out in any way. The stakes are never high and nothing ever feels like it matters. The MC is OP compared to everyone else, and the antagonists are weak and uncompelling. The worst part is the slavery. I enjoy when stories have stuff like slavery in it, it builds out a world further and adds more medieval details to fantasy settings. However here, a man who should know how wrong slavery is partakes in it. Not only that, he forces himself upon t…

Another lovely isekai-ecchi-harem anime. Overpowered main char with a big heart and love for the boobs. Exxxtra ecchi, funny and a wonderful adventure anime of a game designer thrown into an magical world and becoming a maxed out demon lord magician. Very enjoyable. For all isekai - ecchi - harem - adventure anime lovers. Full of magic, demons, power and love. A lovely mix of highschool dxd and demon king daimao. If you hate Ecchi anime, please do not watch this one. A very uplifting anime. 10 / 10 for me. Another overpowered main character to save the magic world by love for curves.

As an avid fan of the Isekai genre, I was blown away by the unique twist on the typical transported to a game world trope. The story follows Diablo, a top-tier gamer in Cross Reverie, who's magically summoned to the game world by two adorable girls, Rem and Shera. What ensues is an epic adventure filled with action, magic, and self-discovery. The Good: - The animation, while not mind-blowing (7/10), feels authentic and immersive, especially for gamers. The magic spells and fight scenes are thrilling and well-choreographed. - The storyline is engaging, with Diablo facing formidable bosses and saving the day (and his new friends). - Music: catchy and fitting for the fantasy world. - Comedy: spot-on, with Diablo's reactions to the girls' advances being priceless! The Not-So-Good (But S…

Everything comes back to individual tastes, so before you watch anime, please note that you like anime with MC OP and Harem. In my opinion, this anime is not much different from other anime I have watched, especially Isekai themed anime, where the MC enters another world, be it a game or something similar. However, there are several points that I think this anime is worth watching. Firstly, this anime has a quite interesting storyline, it's not too boring to watch, maybe I didn't really like the ending. Second, this anime has good character designs, everything is detailed and has effects that are considered perfect. These three anime have good opening and closing songs, especially the singers who are part of the voice cast in the anime, so I think you don't miss the opening and closing…

The ultimate anti-social gamer fantasy. Gets summoned into a video game as a demon lord and instantly enslave 2 attractive women. And eventual create a harem. The main character Takuma Sakamoto is great at MMOs but has no social life, and has to do his best to play the role of demon lord (Diablo) to keep others from knowing his true nature. To the anime's credit Takuma is not depicted as some disgusting stereotype. He's just a guy who is really into this MMO and has a powerful avatar so he inherits all the powers of that character. Its video game power fantasy and there's nothing wrong with that. Its actually quite hilarious. The video game speak. The rivalry between the small breasted girl and the large breasted girl. And Diablo sandwiched in the middle. Fanservice and all. And like…

Not Just Fan Service Do not use the power you have to exploit those under you, they're lives are for them to decide. This is the underlining theme of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord. It is apparent mainly in the mirroring of villains and heroes. Mainly being the tentative word. Even in the over the top fan service it leaks through. ( It is minor but still we go through this fan service and Diablo is still a loveable character at the end of it.) Highly recommend the show I stopped years ago because of the fan service but still came back to it. Amazing workmanship made for a great Christmas day marathon.

Decent anime series, our MC is really funny, interesting, and strong. This show has really a lot of fun elements, the cast is also interesting and good. The story is simple, art style and animation are also decent. The villains are also good, sometimes they are boring. The magic power skills shown are also good. What I liked about this series was our Mc and the sense of funny elements made this show really interesting. It has a lot of ecchi and harem, which also makes it interesting to watch. Our mc is really OP in this world but he isn't that strong when compared to other Mcs I give it 5/10.

This anime is an average isekai anime. It feels like a hentai anime with no sex scene but with more pointless plot. This anime is clearly not meant to be a masterpiece. It's designed to be playful and funny. What ruins this anime is it's abrupt and rushed show of sympathy and vengeance. No build-up, no emotion. To reaffirm, like hentai anime with no sex but more pointless plot. No depth in characters, straight to the point. As the story goes, plot becomes predictable. Not much to complain about animation except the plot and dialogue are average and that played a huge role in deciding if this is exciting or not. It is not an exciting feeling.

We all know what this anime is. It's nice that it doesn't try and pretend it's something that it's not. You won't be surprised by the erotic nature of this show, it's exactly what we all expected when we saw the cover photo. Not for the more wholesome among you. The story is basically just a big setup to couch one of the 'moments'. They're travelling and need a bath? What a great opportunity to seduce the demon lord. Everyone's so willing in this show and it's kinda weird. The art is great and I wouldn't be surprised if the character design was done by an H artist. Somebody has to be hiring them in this economy. Animation is good enough, but don't expect anything mind-blowing like scenes from the Fate series or Fire Force. Anime has this way of making horrible characters seem whimsical…

Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu it’s just common ecchi/harem anime. The main character, Diablo, is a guy who teleported to the world from his favorite game. In real life he’s no one but in this world, he’s Demon King. It’s common anime, so what’s wrong with it? Honestly, for me, a lot of things are just bad. But lets start with the good part. From the visual side, it’s not bad anime, it’s just nothing special. Fight scenes are not chaotic, “special spells” don’t look like they were made in Paint. But in ecchi bazoongas are the most important thing. Yeah, bazoongas are nice, but their consistency is like jelly so that’s kinda weird. Sound is not really important. It’s not that bad or that good to focus on it. Opening probably won’t be your favorite, but it isn’t terrible.…

Pathetic author once again. Wimps upon wimps upon wimps, is there any japanese author that has the balls to do anything significant? This serie would have been a 7, if not for the plot of the last 3 episodes. In reality just one bitch, the red haired girl ruined the whole experience. Lets examine other stuff. Anime is decent, classic op isekai protagonist with the classic anime harem, with a fantasy setting. Even if the trope is the same, if the story is good, you can enjoy it. And the story was good till the red haired bitch made an entrance and the author decided it was time to fuck up. Lets check what happened: Red haired girl literally left one of the main girl protagonist to be tortured and die in front of the Demon King. She knew she would have died, or for the torture or for the…

If I had to describe this anime in 3 words, these would be: Classic, mediocre, entertaining. The story is simply mediocre, it has some slight touches of originality such as the main development attempt and his "role", but nothing more. After that the story is completely predictable and not original at all. Everything about the art, sound and concepts is quite "decent" the style of cute and sexually attractive animations, so it does the job well. I wouldn't place it as great animation or art anime, it has just what you would expect. The "ecchi" is good. In fact I would categorize as "ecchi" the main genre of this anime, the quality and quantity of "ecchi" is three or four times greater than everything else. If there were actual sex action this could perfectly be average hentai (Still med…

I watched this show because of Shera's boobs, and yeah, it's probably worth watching just for that alone. In the end, I ended up really liking Rem, Sylvie, and Klem, they're all very cute lolis that I would probably rank above Shera. Although Rem was very fucking stupid in episode 11, it was really painful to watch and not in a good way. Not much else to say about this show, it's just a generic ecchi harem isekai with an OP protag that just happens to have really attractive girls. Boring world, boring fight scenes, boring setting, boring powers, etc. Dunno if I'll watch season 2, depends on how much fanservice it has.

How Not to Turn Me Off from Your Ecchi Anime. I wasn't too sure about How Not to Summon a Demon Lord at the beginning. I didn't like its opening episode and I sat and rolled my eyes as I prepared for ANOTHER *sigh* light novel isekai in a video game fantasy world with a level system which is rendered meaningless because the main character is overpowered anyway. However, a few episodes in and I started to realise that I was enjoying the show. It understands what it is, it doesn't take itself too seriously and the characters were all enjoying the soft debauchery so I found myself enjoying it too. I think Diablo is a fantastic harem protagonist. He's overpowered yet still struggles with some opponents, but his biggest flaw is his dorkiness and social anxiety which he covers up by tapping i…

This is the first isekai anime I've watched since SAO, and I really hope not all isekai anime are like this because holy mother of god watching this felt like watching a dumpster fire that just keeps burning for no good reason. Story - 3/10 If anything, it felt like there was barely any story and each episode was just them showing us the main character is overpowered and then throwing fanservice in your face and calling it a day. Each episode was incredibly repetitive and at first, I found the main character being overpowered a bit funny and I was ok with it but then it just kept happening again and again, the anime became incredibly predictable and it just was not enjoyable. Art - 4/10 I didn't pay much attention to the art, but it really did just seem like normal anime art. Something I…
