Vermeil in Gold is honestly one of those “turn your brain off and enjoy” type fantasy anime. The story isn’t really breaking any new ground — it’s pretty predictable if you’ve watched even a few magic school / demon contract shows — but it’s still fun because it doesn’t try too hard to be complicated.
Characters are actually one of the better parts. Vermeil is confident, bold, kinda chaotic in a good way, and she easily carries a lot of scenes. Alto is more like your standard MC who slowly grows into things, nothing crazy, but his dynamic with Vermeil makes the show way more interesting than it should be. Their chemistry is basically the main reason you keep watching.
Art is solid for what it is. Not insane “wow Ufotable” level or anything, but the character designs look good and the mag…

The first 4 episodes were cool, light hearted comedy, magic school, MC wanna be the best cool, they give us the typical blushing, head scratching wanna stay a perpetual virgin ass MC and even that wasn't unbearable in the context of the show, then episode 6 happened and you turned a relatively smart kid( near the top of his year) mind you and made him idealistic and a dumbass within the space of a few seconds, the antagonist literally had to explain himself twice so the aforementioned dumbass could finally understand that yes this is a bad guy(child killer, coma whatever) he's a bad dude and what does our MC do when this by every metric an evil man was about to be punished, sacrifice himself so the evil man can live, and does our dumbass MC suffer any consequences for his dumbassery, of co…

The first episodes made the anime look very mid and didnt get me hooked on at all but the last episodes especially 11 and 12 were so peak I’m gonna be so biased and give it a 10/10 but for a realistic rating 8-9/10. I’m actually so glad i picked this series back up and didn’t drop it entirely. Honestly the fanservice is kinda trash and I’d rather the anime without or lessen it at least (especially about Vermeil, how she’s always wearing such visible clothings) but well it doesn’t bother me that much at the end of the day and the romance honestly was peak. I do recommend this to people who like romance even though only the last eisodes were more on the romantic side and not a one sided lust thing like the begging episodes of the anime.

A solid anime that did what it wanted to do.
A magical world where one person is super powered and will continue to be super powered.
Mindless, protagonist faces troubles, overpowers it, faces even bigger trouble, and despite losing, was strong enough to survive it.
Will probably defeat the bigger trouble later.
Nothing new, no twists and anything to really set it apart from any other animes.
So they just added an ecchi secondary character.
But then they also added depth and growth to that character. You could feel that this anime had a plan, and an idea and just executed it.
So would I recommend it? Yes
Would I watch it a second time? Not really

I was holding on to watch this for quite some time, but decided to give it a try to free myself from those generic isekai titles.
It is somewhat what you'd expect from an ecchi anime, but surprisingly it didn't felt "generic".
Story - (7/10): The story is a bit basic, the villains are kinda just there to serve the plot, so do not expect some pansophical debate regarding their actions.
Characters personality - (6/10): The supporting cast is a bit disappointing, a lot of missing opportunities. Lillia has a lot of potential but is made to be just the losing childhood friend.
Ecchi - (7.5/10): Is there, but is PG-13.
Animation - (8/10): Good. It didn't felt like a PowerPoint presentation and in today's reality this deserves some praise, I guess.
Voice acting - 8.5/10): Good, professional. I…

Vermeil in Gold- 6/10. Decent.
Its a pretty standard ecchi romcom in a magic school setting. Our male main character is basically a magic student with pretty good hidden powers but can't pass the class without a familiar.
So he uses an old book and out pops a really attractive demon Vermeil, who forms a contract with him. That's the story, from here on, its a generic fantasy.
We explore background of Vermeil and other characters but its nothing you have not seen before. In fact, there is not a single thing you haven't seen before.
But there is one positive about this show- its a good ecchi. If you like that, this show is for you. I personally did, that's why a 6/10 and not a 4 or 5/10.

I was looking for some trashy Magic Academy anime when I stumbled upon Vermeil in Gold. Indeed, it was gold just like the name of the show. Although the duels and the exams at such a Magic Academy were rather cliche, the presence of Vermeil makes the story exciting. Her backstory revealed near the end of the season is especially a tear-jerker, delivered with such finesse and great execution.
- Story: 8/10 (decent pacing, lack of setup and suspense was the only problem)
- Characters: 8/10 (likable, somewhat memorable characters)
- Animation: 9/10 (incredible, didn't expect such good animation for a relatively unknown show)
- Family-friendly: ABSOLUTELY YES (watch it with your family)

Vermeil in Gold is an underrated fantasy anime that combines magic, romance, and comedy in a way that keeps you entertained from start to finish. The story follows a classic yet enjoyable setup, where a struggling magic student accidentally summons a powerful demon. While the premise isn’t groundbreaking, it’s executed well with plenty of fun and emotional moments.
The art style is vibrant and colorful, fitting the fantasy setting perfectly. Character designs are appealing, especially Vermeil, whose presence dominates the screen with both charm and power. The animation quality is solid, especially in battle scenes where spells and abilities are well-animated.
One of the highlights is the chemistry between Alto and Vermeil. Their dynamic is engaging, blending humor, tension, and heartfelt m…

Vermeil in Gold truly lives up to its title—it’s like discovering a hidden treasure in the anime world. Honestly, I stumbled upon this anime by chance when a Facebook reel popped up showing Vermeil, the adorable (and a bit cheeky) demon female lead, trying to seduce Alto, our shy and blushing male protagonist. I couldn’t stop smiling like an idiot while watching it and thought, "Okay, this seems fun." Little did I know it would turn out to be much more than just playful teasing and romance.
From the very first episode, the chemistry between Alto and Vermeil had me hooked. Sure, there’s a fair share of flirtation and suggestive moments, but the anime surprised me with its depth. The story is packed with humor, some pretty intense action, and a strong emotional core. What really stood out t…

tl;dr: Some good but generic concepts, but overall pretty shoddily put together.
The anime is about Alto Goldfilled, a student at Ortigia Academy of Magic, and his familiar Vermeil, a high class demon. Though demons are generally feared and shunned by humanity, Alto can't help but have a positive impression of Vermeil, and Vermeil too becomes quite fond of her master. As they spend more time with and learns more about each other, they grow even closer. However, that doesn't change the fact that Vermeil is a demon and all the risks associated with that are still present.
The core of this anime is the relationship between Alto and Vermeil. Due to Vermeil being a demon, she needs a lot of mana from her master, and the best way for him to give it to her is through kissing. So from the start…

A wimpy generic idealist to the core kid that has something special summons a dom mommy (succubus) demon as a familiar, and they re in an academy.
Okay, this anime could have been pretty good. At least an 8 or even a 9 in my book. But too many things kept happening over and over again, and it became quite a drag for me to finish this story.
The story has an interesting concept, but it's not work on it for the love of God give me something to work with here man... I wanna know more about that world and magic and how it happened to end up like that, but you don't get much in terms of that unfortunately... You get something along the slice of life of living with a succubus mommy in an academy of magic... Besides the fact that you can easily guess a lot of things that are gonna happen, you g…

Unusually good for it's genre.
Don't expect anything groundbreaking. It isn't a top tier story that would change your view on life or teach you something. But despite it being an ecchi, it is very sweet and kinda wholesome.
I've seen many ecchi anime, I admit, but this one got actually some depth to it. Albeit just some.
Everything, the story, the characters, the world seems like an ordinary ecchi cliche at first. The few first episodes we watch a generic nice-guy, weakling, blunt protagonist who summons a hot chick who is all over him for some reason. What happens in the first episodes has very little meaning and makes very little sense as it only serves to provide the fan service to the audience.
However as the story progresses, the characters evolve a bit. Especially the main guy wh…

I mean... Holy sh*t
So a few things before the review... Couldn't he be Of age? Like why did he have to be like a 15 year old with a 500 year old demon mommy?
Whatever.
Story:
I think for the most part the Story HAS potential But for the most part since this is a Season one I didn't really see a lot of Tasty stuff, just *bonk* Horny jail tier writing because of the massive jugs and while I'm not complaining as a Man of class myself it doesn't really translate if you're looking for a story beyond that. It has potential. Let's see if in A hypothetical season 2 more of that is focused on.
Characters:
I think the characters are fine. Nothing ground breaking but nothing too Bad from some of the other anime I've seen. Vermeil is not too deep of a character but I see this anime as more of a "T…

A tale of a young prodigious magician who has difficulty summoning a familiar until he has a chance encounter with a book in the library. This is a mixture of drama, action, romance, and intrigue, and it is a completely unremarkable concoction in its totality.
The cast is comprised of shallow supporting characters that fulfill the most miniscule of roles in that they only ever appear on-screen to induce shenanigans or to invite adversity into the story. The villain(s) are evil for the purpose of being evil. The main character is special and has a unique power because that is how it is. The major supporting character is mighty and can only be summoned by the main character because that is also how it is. There is little expounding on the subject of magic in this series. It is a mystery as…

Vermeil in Gold is an example of a good story told poorly.
At the story's beginning, it looks like this anime has nothing special. Instead, it started like an average anime without anything to highlight.
The last three chapters will change your mind. Vermeil in Gold is a story with a lot of potential and with characters' personalities very well built.
Sadly, in a world with thousands of average animes and strong competition, it is the author's responsibility to create a story that catches the audience's attention from the beginning.
Sadly, the poor storytelling of Vermeil in Gold will cause the majority of the audience could lose interest in the first three chapters.
I believe that Vermield in Gold has a lot of potential. But the mistake of average storytelling will condemn this story…

needless fanservice + poor writing + predictable plot + trope heavy. I loved the artwork, especially the mana crystal ball scene and Vermeil's eyes, but other than the art, it doesnt have much going for it. the opening song as well as much of the soundtrack is really good. however, the magic system isn't thought out, the villian makes no sense and appears out of nowhere, with little to no motivation. it covers a lot of story in a short amount of time, but at the same time, the plot is stretched really thin in places. it would have been interesting to see the world be fleshed out a bit more.
I think bringing in a bigger bad for the final episodes is a bit cheap, almost as if the show didn't know where to go next. the only saving grace of the final episode is Vermeil's backstory because I am…

Well this was an amazing anime! Apart from all those lewed stuff the anime, the story was marvelous! Though I really wanted to know more about AIto well now we know what was Vermeil's past....
Well I had a theory that AIto might have a past of his own meaning his parents reason at the beginning Vermeil told that his mana is dense but she amplified at first she acted as a catalyst and finally he managed to obtain Golden Mana well of course it's all thanks to Vermeil but it's his power that was amplified! Guess we will know this in the next season! Farther more in that battle where he fought Iolite he overheated himself even Vermeil was shocked to know that it's his mana...!
Now this is of course a speculation but got to say the story was beautiful! A tragic past a great story no plot twis…

Its actually not that bad, imma gonna go give it a (8,37).
The story is indeed built normally, but over time the plot also builds up even though sometimes the plot seems unclear. The development of the plot continued to develop until the end of the episode, which in my opinion ended sufficiently. To be honest, at least this anime's story was not forced to develop because basically there was potential to expand the story in the last episode. But I'm really grateful they didn't.The story only focuses on the two main characters, what I think is lacking here is the fact that the other characters really feel like side characters. Stories that only focus on the main character in my opinion are not good stories, but it's a different story if the main characters are a group or maybe more of 4-5 act…

"VERMEIL IN GOLD"
Genre- Shounen, Ecchi, Comedy, School, Magic, Supernatural, Fantasy.
In terms of existence and the kinds of entities that are out there, you can say that demons rank as the most fearful. And when 'Alto Goldfield summons Vermeil, the most powerful demon out there, you can be sure that things are going to take a turn. With high dreams of becoming the most powerful mage in the world, Alto gets on with his journey of becoming a Platinum Square after summoning Vermeil as his familiar.
The main plot of the anime remains pretty basic right from the start, where we have an MC who is pretty bad at practical magic and summoning, but after encountering a book in the library, and summoning Vermeil, he suddenly awakens a power that makes him the strongest. With high goals and him b…

Kinsou no Vermeil was a decent anime to watch, and I'll try to explain why in this review.
First things first, this show has the ecchi tag, therefore, expect a lot of fanservice scenes, and you can already skip this review and show if you don't like that type of scenes, cause there will be many of them, and they aren't that unique nor thoughtful.
Pros of this anime :
+ Vermeil character, you are bound to like this waifu
+ The visuals were good looking ( no pun intended ), it's colorful, the opening is nice aswell
+ The character design felt good enough except for the MC Alto that really had a generic/bland look
+ The pace was enjoyable, it's hard to describe, but even if there is only 12 episodes, the story covered many events, a lot of stuff happens in almost every episode, but it…
