Shows like this live and die with how self-aware they are and how seriously they take themselves. If Call of the Night was attempting to be edgy and cool it would fail miserably and I would have ended with a significantly lower score. Fortunately, this anime is competently directed, completely self-aware and does not take itself too seriously at any given time. Its humor lands without being ultra-juvenile, highly sexualized or blatantly forced and it remains cute and charming throughout its short runtime.
From the very beginning this show oozes style! While I definitely love the bright lights and thematic emphasis on, well, THE NIGHT the art director is clearly going for, I didn't find it as visually appealing as Cyberpunk's Night City, for example, because this anime has a tendency to ma…

Call of the Night is one of, if not the most aesthetically pleasing shows on the market.
Call of the Night might seem at face value to be a basic slice-of-life romance, but that is so far from the truth. The bond between Kou and Nazuna that you follow throughout the show is incredibly crafted. If they're not gaming at 3am, they're flying around the city, or grabbing drinks. It's amazing.
This show has such a way of pulling you in and making you feel involved in the relationships that develop, like no other. The vibrant colors, the shining stars, the beautiful city, it's harder to pick out the flaws than it is to find the appeal. That is what makes this show so special.
Even the action feels personal here, every fight is really just another way Kou and Nazuna's world collides with the on…

This is the anime your loved ones warned you about. Impossibly beautiful women, wanderlust, shirking responsibilities, night escapism, power fantasies... This is not healthy. There's nothing to be gained or learned from watching this series, at least nothing positive. If you don't give a rat's ass about that and are prepared to succumb to the vampire succ, you will find more than meets the eye.
The women are BEAUTIFUL. This deserves its own special mention. The character design in this show is outrageous. Nazuna and Akira are smokeshows whose standoffish existence from our spun-out MC just add to their allure. God they're perfect. Nazuna's kuudere slow-burn mixture of angst, apathy and longing are like a drug. Akira's dejected, barely-clinging-on survival optimism is tragic and you can't…

At first glance, Yofukashi might come off as just another coming of age show. It has all of the ingredients to pass off just another work with a high budget but ultimately mediocre contents. But there’s a stark difference between Yofukashi and its contemporaries: it understands the subtleties of what it means to be lost. Especially in one’s youth, when hormones run rampant, the last thing people need in order to find themselves is to have their thoughts drowned out by the noise of rules and regulation which make up daytime society. Yofukashi utilizes the night as a safe haven for these people, granting them the quiet solitude needed to truly figure out who they are. The night operates not only as a means of escape from the normal world, but as a reflection of the self, allowing its inhabit…

Call of the night is the first romance focused anime I have watched, the story is admittedly a little slow at the start. With the first few episodes being genuinely a little weird. But as the show drags on, it becomes more and more enjoyable. Nazuna is a really fun character, and makes the anime fun to watch and follow. The intro, “Daten” is excellent work by Creepy Nuts, it’s one of the most recognizable anime intros in modern anime. The nighttime aesthetic was nailed perfectly, and the visuals are stunning, they lean a little heavy into the fanservice but when Nazuna start throwing hands, the show really picks up

Despite the obvious hornybaiting (and even slightly less obvious problematic age gap) and the fact that the girl on the cover is literally a manic pixie vampire, it's Very Good actually.
At the very least, the mostly appropriate eroticism doesn't cross the line into banal vulgarity, and the poster girl is actually a real character with genuine depth and layers, not some Ramona Flowers.
The anime manages in a truly impressive way to position itself between classic weeaboo romance and gothic dark romanticism, between coziness and thriller, between comedy and food for thought, between the darkness of night and neon lights, so to speak. In other words, big brain author really cooked with this one.
And yes, the representation of vampires and vampirism is peak, the intimate connection of vamp…

Elevates the vibes/hang-out anime by perfectly capturing what it feels like to be active and alert past midnight. As a sometimes night owl who lives in a city, I love the scale, the dimension, the color that the animation captures. I love the buildings we fly past, the liminal alleys and parks that we creep through. The setpieces also feel natural, like there are cafés and bars, the usual hangout spots, but sometimes we’ll just chill at home and play video games.
That natural feeling probably comes from the natural progression of Kou and Nazuna’s relationship. The season doesn’t have the most compelling plot, but it makes up for it with this immaculate setting and the characters that it allows to breathe, to be themselves. The two are cute together, and when characters like Akira start to…

I was actually a bit confused about several things, and strangely, all of them were only explained around episodes 5 to 7. I know this is supernatural, but doesn’t it feel more like a mystery? Honestly, I didn’t really feel the romance at first, but after episode 6, I started to understand it better.
It’s quite unusual—we’re kept completely in the dark at the beginning and then given explanations little by little. I think this would have worked better as a “prologue season” rather than a sequel. It also feels like the author should have added more romantic elements to the story.
However, it does clearly show how we can grow attached to the night, and how each person has their own struggles that many people seem to experience. I’d say this is quite good to watch as a side pick.

Imagine living in the night.
When the world goes quiet, the streets empty, and the city lights glow like distant stars, a different kind of freedom begins. The night feels endless, mysterious, and full of possibilities. It’s a time when rules fade, thoughts grow louder, and the ordinary world feels strangely magical.
This is the feeling that Call of the Night captures so beautifully.
The anime tells the story of a boy who begins wandering through the city at night after struggling to connect with the normal rhythm of daytime life. In the stillness of midnight, he meets a strange and carefree girl who introduces him to a world he never imagined — a world that exists in the shadows of the night.
What makes Call of the Night so special isn’t just its story, but the atmosphere it creates.…

I think it's fantastic, and there absolutely must be a third season, otherwise it would feel incomplete. I've never seen a vampire story like this before. Vampire anime didn't usually interest me much, but after watching one episode, I realized this one was very different. Then I watched all the episodes. The character designs were very unique, but I liked them. I think it's a very valuable work. The music is also very carefully chosen. The emotions of the characters in the story are conveyed very well to the audience. I think most anime fans will really enjoy this anime.

How Do I Fall In Love?
Call of the Night is a show about why wandering about at night is actually good, Because you will meet interesting places, women and they will make dirty jokes while having fun with you.
The show is about Ko Yamori, a boy split between two worlds. The sexy night where the vampires live and Where Nazuuna lives, someone who can,t stop making dirty jokes. The world of the day time, where they keep saying, "what a horrible life to live in the night." It's the eternal dilemma of freedom or normality.
But when does an Eternal Night become normality?
The main character is so great, there is such earnest autistic feeling to him, of him wanting to understand and wanting to be in love. And seeing him develop throughout the series, and having to thinking through the dark con…

As a anime released in its own season, it is a highly and contentiously well-placed anime at its release and to its end, a statement based on the art style, and the social topics that are placed in the anime. The "Social topics" placed are refering to the dynamics of our protagonist, Ko Yamori and how he is a semi-epithet of the nocturnal young teenager and one who has exhibited delinquent behaviour about his sleeping habits and attendence to school. Not only that, he appears delinquent to the responsibility of those who care around him, and they themselves are not nocturnal either... This is something to be spoken about as the story progress and how keen one should be when discussing the nature of character of Ko Yamori, our protagonist.
This is where the other main character comes into,…

i live a pretty happy life, no actual issues, because of this i feel i cant relate to any anime (or other media) that well. Theres always some issue i dont have, this is one of the few where i feel like i can relate only because i enjoy the night a lot, cant tell if this is sad or good but this is the first time ive related to anything really, now i get why people wanna relate.
anyhow good animation, not too much fan service considering whats possible (this is a good thing), i dont really like romance but this was still nice.

A vampire anime with lots of love. The animation is beautiful, and the character designs are great. What I liked most was how the protagonist is an ordinary guy who's learning to manage his emotions and who has someone special in his life. We see him experience different emotions, and this new bond grows, along with the questions he has about himself. The anime's universe also expands with more characters, both vampires and non-vampires. It kind of reminded me of Monogatari, which is a really good thing. I highly recommend it.

anime de vampiros y amor mucho amor. La animación es muy linda, el diseño de personajes esta bueno. Lo que más me gustó como el protagonista es un chico normal que se está encontrando en como gestionar emociones y que tiene una persona especial. Con esto…

Call of the Night: It's a very successful production. Aside from the first five episodes being repetitive, it has no flaws. The characters introduced later, such as the vampires, are well integrated into the anime, and each plays their role well. It has a small but solid group of supporting characters.
There was a lot of fan service, and at times it was shoved in the viewer's face, which was a bit annoying. Other than that, it's an anime worth watching.

Call of the Night: Gayet başarılı bir yapımdır. ilk beş bölümünün tekrara binmesi dışında bir kusuru yok.

The show was suprisingly good for a supernatural anime, it had a unique coloring and artstyle that helped showing the beauty of the
night, each night had its own adventure, and each adventure shows new characters who have their own reasons to go out at night,
the slight hint of mystery, comedy, action all contributed to making this how awesome. The portraying of the night life style was
absolutely amazing, it attracts a huge number of viewers who most likely fancy the night more than day (me included), so the lights, the
calm, the freedom and all the exceptional values/quaities the characters enjoy during the night are very relatable. The character
developpment of the protagonist is quite remarkable tbh, the other characters as well, each episode shows how the characters grow aft…

The story/plot is tragic and boring. On the other hand, the setting, all those colors, and the music matched to the current action actually turned out really well, which is the biggest plus. If not for a certain character near the end, this anime would be, colloquially speaking, completely fucked. The rest of the characters feel thrown together on the fly for laughs — none of them has anything original about them and they exist just to exist. The main character’s entire personality is that he walks around at night and is messed up; there isn’t a single thing that makes him interesting to watch. As Mammon would put it: congratulations on the brain, kid. Even if this anime has some deeper message that isn’t visible at first glance, there’s still no chance of saving this season. I had to writ…

It sets a unique vibe and atmosphere that sets it apart from other anime.
The feeling you get makes you feel apart of the night-time settings, and it's colour scheme give it a unique identity.
With it's main character 'Ko', I feel like he's designed to make the viewer remind them of themselves, the innocence of being a child, and not fully knowing the world yet. He explores the unfamiliarity of the night, and a part of life he hasn't experienced yet, which takes the viewer back to similar feelings of their youth.
The show captures the essence of the night-time very well. It grants the feeling of being free and unburdened from the natural troubles of life, peaceful, and full of new open possibilities. It feels vast, mysterious, and subtlety rebellious, with the potential of adventure. The…

Was amazing to watch with a rather slow pacing and conflict that revolves at one single point. Honestly not my type, but the anime delivered it very well and managed to make me stay entertained the whole time watching it. I don't really like the plot, or how the background story of this anime works. But I believe it would be someone else's preference. It doesn't make me excited too much until the lasts of the episodes. But hey, I am satisfied. And I think you would too.
