Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout

Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout

Introduction

Since their days as students, Tsukasa Jinguuji has had incredible luck with women due to his good looks; Hinata Tachibana has had almost none, overshadowed by Jinguuji's brilliance. However, while Jinguuji has never shown interest in the opposite sex, Tachibana is always desperate for a girlfriend. Despite their polar differences, they continue to be best friends even in their thirties as salarymen. One night, the two are returning home from a mixer where Jinguuji was the center of attention as usual. In his drunken rambles, a frustrated Tachibana inadvertently wishes to become a beautiful girl with irresistible charm. As if the heavens were listening, a goddess suddenly shows herself before Jinguuji and Tachibana, transporting them to another world to defeat the Demon Lord and simultaneously granting Tachibana's desire. Tachibana—now in the body of an impossibly perfect woman—has become so attractive that even Jinguuji is captivated. Moreover, Tachibana grows aware of Jinguuji's stunning appearance, finally understanding his popularity. Before they fall in love with each other, the duo must complete their mission or risk remaining prisoners to their infatuations forever. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Simple, Peak Comedy The Story: Simple but Hilarious The plot is basic isekai. Two best friends get transported to another world. One turns into a beautiful girl. That is it. Yet, the show is incredibly funny. It takes a silly idea and milks it for great comedy. The Characters: Unremarkable but Needed On paper, the characters are generic. You have seen them before. However, their chemistry makes the show work. Every single character is indispensable. Without this specific cast, the jokes would completely fail. The Verdict: No More Excuses This show proves that the anime industry has no excuse for making bad isekai. You do not need a massive budget or deep lore. If a simple story about two friends can be this entertaining, other studios are just lazy. Watch it for an easy, fun laugh.

Life With an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into a Total Fantasy Knockout is an isekai comedy that takes a very different approach compared to most Isekai anime. Instead of focusing on generic cliiche tropes, the series centers around two best friends who are suddenly transported into a fantasy world. Things immediately become complicated when one of them, Hinata Tachibana, is transformed into an incredibly attractive blonde girl by a goddess. While the pair are still the same people on the inside, their new situation creates all kinds of awkward, hilarious, and completely ridiculous problems. Their is also the problem tthat Tsukasa is very upset his friend has become a women and its noted through most of the series The anime's biggest strength is the chemistry between the two main charact…

This show...is a genuine masterpiece this show honestly hit all the marks for perfect rom-com. The jokes are all in great taste and above and nothing gross either. Every joke landed not even 5 minutes into the first episode I was genuinely laughing. The writting: beautiful written no artificial misunderstandings, no plot holes (that I could find), nor any plot convient "oh looks". The dialog feels natural and the characters blend well. The Characters: are main characters tachibana and jinguji blend amazing together, their conflicts are very well implemented and shape the story well. Not to mention the humor each bring to the table. Both very different in a aproch but they overlap as well as any two friend could. The Concept: and by this I mean the who turning into a girl thing. It's do…

i don't remember the last time i laughed this much watching an anime, i pray for a second season. from story, character dynamics, jokes, they all are perfect i never got bored watching the show The pacing never really drags something ridiculous is always happening, and it moves quickly from one chaotic situation to the next. and my fav part about the anime is how others react to the main character relationship and how un-serious people are in this show but it's sad that anime has source material but no news on why there isn't more seasons, it's really a gem of an anime

Story The premise is straightforward: You and your best friend get transported to a fantasy world, but the catch is that your friend is magically transformed into a stunningly hot woman. Because of this "curse," you both gradually become attracted to each other as you progress. This central concept drives the plot, and it’s genuinely funny. There are several other amusing running gags in the anime, but I won't spoil those for you. While the initial concept is interesting and there are funny moments scattered throughout, I felt the season finale fell flat. That specific disappointment is the main reason I landed on a 6/10 score instead of a 7. Art Style The style is simple but good. The art, animations, and special effects aren't groundbreaking or incredibly flashy, but they are certainly…

Like many anime, this one starts off fairly well, I’d even say the first scene is actually good. But the following scenes are bland and forgettable, and by the halfway point it becomes clear what this show really is. There’s a scene where the protagonists completely ignore a girl who has been enslaved, someone they could easily help, but they don’t even acknowledge her. It looks incredibly strange. Even stranger, in the following episodes they walk around with the very slaver who captured and sold that girl, and as it turns out, he knew the men who bought her planned to kill her. Yet our so-called heroes ignore this completely. At this point, something becomes clear that wasn’t obvious at first: the protagonists have lost all compassion and any sense of decency. After that, any sympathy f…

Fantasy Knockout is a tsundere gender bent boy’s love that is basically an Isekai version of Love is War. Whether or not it’s on par with the aforementioned depends on your comedy & character preferences, and due to the frequency of jokes & gags, these preferences will make or break the show. The show is surprisingly mature regarding sexuality, masculinity, internalization & societal norms for a Romantic Comedy however at times the aforementioned maturity gets undermined by gags & jokes while topics used for jokes like slavery & body visuals are left in the wind to be ignored. The main duo work well together although their hijinks & characters start to get a tad repetitive & regressive as the episodes continue, only being refreshed with the introduction of side characters. The side chara…

In my opinion this is one top tier underrated anime. I love a good comedic romance anime which is why I looked into this one in the first place. Honestly, this show left me shocked. In terms of how the characters get introduced to the new fantasy world, it could’ve been done better; but, frankly I couldn’t care less. Once they got to the new world it was fun and silly from the jump which I loved. Heading into the show blind, I expected it to be weird and probably drop it, but it ended up being a great watch! I liked the relationship between the two characters and how it tremendously continued to grow. I also deeply appreciated the fact they actively mention that one of them used to be a guy instead of just brushing over it and allowing them to fall in love without addressing anything. Most…

Full disclosure, I went into Life With an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into a Total Fantasy Knockout expecting it to be bad. I love trash TV, and I love dumpster diving for shows that look like not very good, trashy fun. But the thing about dumpster diving is that among the garbage, occasionally you’ll find treasure. Life With an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated Into a Total Fantasy Knockout (which I’ll be shortening to Fabiniku from here on) is that treasure. Fabiniku is, of course, an isekai with an overly long, overly descriptive title in both English and Japanese, but you don’t quite get what it says on the tin. It’s not *just* the story of a normal salaryman (Hinata Tachibana) getting reincarnated in a fantasy world as a hot blonde woman and getting told to go kill the Demon King, beca…

Very quick review on this one: Stupid, but very well executed. Probably one of the best friendship anime I have seen in a few years. Less quick, but still short. No real spoilers other than the mood you can expect: I expected most of the character interactions to end up being one off jokes for the sake of a laugh without any substance, but the continuity impressed me each time something came up again episodes later. Characters with little impact early on are brought back later, each having developed in some way rather than being put in a vacuum to just wait for the MCs to interact with them again like you see in so many other anime. The guys here actually go into the feelings that can make a guy uncomfortable and this does a good job of showing how easy it is for guys to ignore or hide h…

Let's do this: I'll give it a 7 because at least the production value is decent, and I've seen worse with better votes (like Shield Hero), but as for the rest, there's little to nothing to talk about or enjoy about this. The plot is what you've seen in dozens of similar isekais that did it better. The art is mediocre, the animation is mediocre, the character design is uninteresting, and the worldbuilding is shabby. They clearly leaned too hard into the gender-bending trope and didn't put effort into, well, anything else - another dishonest isekai who tries to do something different but ultimately fails at being compelling. When are they going to learn that adding a little twist to the standard formula doesn't guarantee success if you can't present an interesting story, an interesting w…

I was so upset by how this anime progressed; and to be honest, my main issue was with Tachibana. Initially, Tachibana as a character felt like he had potential, with ideas of having years of experience as a 32 year old adult man dealing with issues that a young, attractive woman might face in a fantasy world. But instead what I got was is a clingy (manageable, can make it work), whiny (not fine), inept (*really* not fine) screaming child who could not stop and think at all throughout this series. No sense of strategy, no sense of responsibility, blamed his problems on Jinguuji, and cried like he was some kind of innocent victim when his situation was a result of his own choices and didn't takes responsibility for the impact his actions have on others. He, quite frankly, never thought abou…

What the hell dude? I came into this show expecting low tier humor with homophobic undertones that I could cringe at, where did this genuine exploration of gender, relationships and identity come from?? Jokes aside, I'd heard that this show was pretty funny, but I didn't expect it to be so emotional and introspective as well. Our two protagonists have incredible chemistry and are both interesting and flawed characters. The art is really good, the humor is as great as I thought it was gonna be and while the worldbuilding appears a bit simple/cliche it definitely feels like there's more that we don't know, which keeps us hooked and hoping for an eventual sequel. As much as I'd recommend this show for the hokes and humor I'd praise it's heartfelt moments just as much, they really did a great…

A show carried by its main characters and the fun conceit - what if your best friend was the cutest girl in the world? It's a little awkward at times but is mostly very charming, especially due to the acting of the two main characters (I watched in English). Fun fact, Tachibana is voiced by a romantic couple which I think has only happened before in Pop Team Epic. It's a fun friendship/romance/???? angle that you don't see much in standard anime! This is only my second Isekai and it is not a genre I care about typically - that is still the case here. The most dull parts of this show are the weird RPG elements that make no sense given they weren't sucked into a game or something, the literal NPCs having no personality, and the played-out fantasyland world. Extremely shoehorned and would be…

The first anime that I classified as “boring”, even though I watched the whole thing. I am not a “hater” and usually I don't even rate the ones I don't like because I don't finish them. But since I watched this one to the end, I decided to give it this rating. The characters are not well-developed, the story is very stagnant and difficult to watch in many moments. Thank God for the speed acceleration of the video. They could use a lot more material from the story, there are many things that were little used or explored. Disappointed, I hope it ends there. I'm a fan of Isekai, but this one is one that should stay off the recommendation list.

Honestly, don't know why this doesn't have better ratings, I personally enjoyed it so much. The comedy was Konosuba level no cap, hadn't laughed this much from an anime in a while. The characters are all pretty unique and very likable, including the side characters. There is a wholesomeness to certain scenes which honestly balances out the comedy aspect. The story isn't all that amazing necessarily, it's a simple isekai defeat the demon lord type stuff but all the other aspects make up for it. It seems like what turned many off from this anime was the gender bender aspect, which for me felt weird at first, but anime in itself is honestly really good after getting past that. For a isekai comedy, with a touch of wholesomeness, and funny characters, it does a great job. The only lacking par…

This is a really enjoyable isekai, especially for fans of lighthearted, easygoing anime 🌟. While it's not your typical isekai, it offers a refreshing twist on the genre. The plot doesn't dive too deep—at least not so far—but that's part of its charm. If you're looking for something that’s not too serious, this is a fun watch 🎉. It reminds me of a mix between Konosuba and No Game No Life, with character dynamics that give off Arifureta vibes 🎮✨. Is the story unique? It’s a bit of both—while it leans on some familiar tropes, it's still fun and engaging 😄. Even if parts of the plot feel predictable, it's the kind of series that keeps you entertained if you're a fan of the genre. Is the art style fitting? Definitely! The art style suits the tone of the show perfectly, and the character d…

Fantasy BJO is a surprisingly entertaining anime. It's far from perfect, but it's very funny and approaches the Isekai genre from a unique angle. It's basically a rom-com that focuses on two men struggling to accept their feelings for one another. It becomes much more difficult when one of them is blessed by the goddess of love to turn into a beautiful woman in a fantasy world. Outside of this unique angle, it's completely low-stakes fluff and not at all different from any other generic isekai anime you've ever seen. The final boss is a giant robo bunny, so that should be all you need to know about whether or not this anime should be taken seriously. In spite of it's very middling world building, supporting characters, and animation, I still enjoyed it. Nothing was particularly terrible…

It is the story of two best friends who are transported into a world of magic and fantasy. Where one of them is transformed into a woman and the other is given a curse that makes him fall in love with his best friend. In other words, a man falls in love with a transsexual but that doesn't happen. At the beginning the series is very entertaining with its comedy but as the episodes go by it becomes very repetitive. The animation is quite decent, the soundtrack doesn't stand out much, the character design is good but I was expecting something more to attract me. There is a bit of character development but only in the season finale. If you like the isekai you can give it 3 episodes to see if you like it, otherwise you don't even see it, it's wasting your time on something that isn't worth it.…

Two bros sittin in a hot tub, 5 feet apart cause they're not gay! : The anime. This was a hidden gem for me. I passed on it at first because it was an Isekai. Oh it was a romcom too? Ok. I was already watching SO MANY others. Couldn't be bothered. Then I watched it recently. Out of curiosity. Well... IT WAS AMAZING! I am upset with myself that I waited sooo long. So if that old meme reference didn't sum it up, then here is the basic plot: Tachibana and Jinguuji are two bros. Tachibana is the fun loving, friend making, gets no bitches having, people person of the two. Jinguuji is the hard working, perfect, good looking, strong, women attracting, woman hating, awkward best friend to Tachibana. One night they go drinking and Tachibana strikes out while Jinguuji passes on all women in order…
