This is a really sweet story about a blind girl and an emotionally closed off boy finding love. The topic of Koharu's disability feels very thoughtful and adds a richness to the story that I've rarely experienced before. As someone who, much like Kakeru, has never met anyone who is blind and is equally afraid of hurting other people by saying something insensitive, this romance gripped me harder than I ever thought it could. Coming to understand Koharu, how normal life changes without eyesight, but is not that different than anyone else's life. Watching Kakeru learn as he goes, and show how kind a person he really is as he grows closer to Koharu, I'm not embarassed to say some of these moments started to make me cry. Truth be told, half of the episodes made me cry, and a couple more got me…

I would consider myself a bit of a safe person in terms of anime taste; I tend to like what other people like, and I tend to dislike widely disregarded content. It’s extremely rare that I look at a score on this website and strongly disagree, except for comedies (which is so subjective that I hardly count it).
This, this right here is the most dumbfounded I’ve ever been with a MAL score. Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky (or KakeKoi apparently) outscores Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, the first season of You and I are Polar Opposites, Fate/Strange Fake, Goodbye Lara, and is close to the score of Witch Hat Atelier and Nippon Sangoku (I haven’t seen this one, but people seem to love it). I don’t like to focus on scores, I don’t think it’s productive, but I’m just trying to illustrate…

Some love stories are not simply about falling in love, but about learning to appreciate life, cherishing the time we have with the people we love, and finding hope even in the darkest moments. Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky is one such story, a deeply emotional romance that reminds us of the beauty of human connection and the profound impact one person can have on another's life.
What makes this story particularly special is the contrast between its two protagonists. Kakeru a regular young man who prefers to keep his distance from others, who lives in an emotional darkness, he is introverted, carries past trauma, and feels isolated from the rest of the world, on the other hand Koharu, a young woman who lives in a physical darkness due to her blindness, but has a cheerful, outgoi…

I went into this anime with absolutely no expectations. After reading the synopsis, I thought it would be another generic drama anime that starts off strong but gradually falls off. But I couldn't have been more wrong.
Every episode made me reflect on how important it is to appreciate the little things in life. It beautifully reminds us that even the smallest, seemingly insignificant moments can become precious memories as we grow older. The way this anime delivered its emotional moments felt so natural and genuine that even the simplest scenes left a lasting impression.
By the time I finished watching, I was genuinely at a loss for words. I could only sit there in awe. It felt like watching a masterpiece being painted, one brushstroke at a time, until everything came together into somet…

We say love is blind, but in reality, we're the ones who always choose with our eyes open.
That's what we got after watching Toumei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita, or just Kakekoi. The story is simple. Kakeru, the quiet guy, meets Koharu, who's visually impaired. It starts with him being a volunteer, and eventually feelings grow between them, until it finally ends with a happy ending where Kakeru accepts Koharu's condition—her disability and the chemo she has to go through.
One last question that kinda bugs me. If the roles were reversed—the blind one was the guy, and the girl had to constantly give attention and be patient—would she still stick around like Kakeru did? Or would she just say "this is too much"? That's what makes me ask myself, are we actually fair wh…

This anime is a gentle and sweet experience that doesn't rely on forced drama or heavy tears to make an impact. Instead, it wraps you in a really comforting and soothing atmosphere from start to finish.
While the core story might seem simple and not heavily plot-driven, its subtle and steady pacing is exactly what makes it so special. It doesn't need exaggerated plot twists to keep you engaged; it thrives on its cozy, healing narrative that simply leaves you feeling at ease.
Visually, the art style is a perfect match for this vibe. The soft animation and pleasant color palette beautifully complement the comforting tone of the story, making every single episode a relaxing watch.
The characters are what truly make this series shine. They are wonderfully well-rounded and feel very human. T…

Don’t judge this anime only by its genre, nor dismiss the characters because they have flaws. Take the story, the experiences, and the emotions with you. Be grateful for the present, and keep dreaming about the future.
I started this anime randomly, without expecting much, but it ended up reminding me of something I had forgotten: to live with purpose. The story isn’t necessarily about finding someone exactly like Kakeru or Fuyutsuki and trying to live their story. It’s about finding your own reason to keep moving forward, accepting that people have flaws, and still choosing to care, dream, and live.
The story may have moments that feel predictable, especially if you’re familiar with this kind of emotional romance/drama, but that didn’t make it less meaningful to me. What matters is how…

Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky struck harder than I expected—though it’s less because of the series itself, and mostly because of the reality it refuses to look away from. Disability and terminal diagnosis are not topics I feel comfortable speaking on personally, but I can say with certainty that Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky handles both with genuine sincerity—unflinchingly acknowledging the harsh reality many people face, while still finding room for the heartwarming, difficult way relationships grow around it. From the opening statement, we’re introduced to an inexperienced Kakeru, navigating the difficulties of early college life, though that's merely the beginning that leads him to his awkward encounters with Fuyutsuki, highlighting how distant and…

i'll keep this review short. love unseen is an overall well executed romance anime but with a slightly less than ideal ending.
usually i don't like tone shift in the middle of seasons from any anime. but this anime has a good plot related reason to have one. so it's fine. but i do think a tiny bit more foreshadowing in the first half of the season would do the overall storytelling much good, making the tone shift more natural and less abrupt.
the visuals are great but contains a lot of still frames. it needs a bit more motion. same problem with angel next door.
i like the way this anime portrays empathy. empathy in this anime is realistic without extravagant grandiose. and i think about this specific point a lot after watching.
the ending is perhaps the weakest link of this anime. the…

We often take things for granted...
Complaining we don't have the greatest of past, possessions, jobs, body appearance, wealth and we cry about our misfortunes thinking it to be the worst one out of all. But can we really blame ourselves, in this modern world, after all it is really easy to compare ourselves to others, not knowing the full picture behind it.
And so, comparison becomes a thief of our joy. A simple phrase often heard too many times, yet we don't seem to quite understand.
Similar is the case for our male main character, Sorano, after his parent's divorce at an early age, he developed trauma, a cautious outlook of life, preferring loneliness and avoidance and blaming the past for his current state.
This of course changes, when he meets our female main character, Koharu at…

“Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky” was one of the most beautiful and emotionally touching romance anime I have watched recently! 💙
From the very first episode I was completely emotionally invested in the story and especially in the romance between Koharu and Kakeru. Their relationship slowly grew from friendship into love and the way their journey was portrayed completely won my heart.
What I loved most about this anime was Koharu as a character. Despite being blind and battling cancer for so many years she never once treated her disability or illness as something that made her weak. Instead she chose to stay strong and taught herself how to read, write, use a phone, dress herself, walk and cross the street, do her makeup and so many other things that most of us take for granted.…

Who Loves an emotional rollercoaster if the answer is you then you’re in luck this has all the twist and turns as it starts out as a nice high school romance but gets flipped on his head in episode six and honestly, I was wondering where they take the story and the direction they did was interesting It very much reminded me of Clannad and your lie in April and just like those shows I enjoyed this one. I was smiling and sad I went through most of the emotions which is always a good show if it can do that to you
They are negative. I would have to say is the ending felt rushed. In the last 10 minutes, which sort of ruin the illusion and the ending for the protagonist is a bit strange didn’t really feel very creative but it was fine.
There’s not much to say about spoiling much because I ca…

A very good romance drama anime. It gave me a similar feeling to Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
The relationship between the MC and the heroine was executed quite well. The heroine is visually impaired, and at first, the MC sees her as someone who might be troublesome. However, he gradually becomes curious about her and eventually falls in love with her.
I actually agree that the drama in the later episodes (especially from episode 7 onward) can feel quite cliché and generic. However, the execution was so good that I was still able to fully enjoy it, even to the point of shedding a few tears.
I initially thought the story would show the heroine's POV more often, since I was also curious about what she was thinking and feeling, but it didn't happen as much as I expected. Still, the anime handl…

It is a story that gives us the strength to keep moving forward in life—the courage to open our hearts and to try things we never once dreamed we would have the chance to do. Life is filled with obstacles that we must overcome. There will be moments of pain, but there will also be moments of happiness. While we still have the chance, we should spend as much of the time we have as possible with the people we love.
To love someone—to want to stay by their side, to take care of them, to remain beside them for the rest of our lives, and to devote ourselves to making “us” happy together—is truly a wonderful and precious feeling, beyond anything that could ever be compared to it.
Life is not precious because it is perfect or eternal. It is precious because our time in it is limited, and our live…

This is literally a breath of fresh air but I wouldn't say this is the greatest romance ever. The current MAL score (8.41) is somewhat relative but I believe it should be around 8 to be exact.
It's actually refreshing to watch and it gives you that nostalgic feeling if you watched older romance anime except the visuals are great. The kind of characters and their stereotypes felt so real. There's passion for each and every one of them to exist. Even if some parts are cliche, there will be a little part in your heart that will make you smile no matter what. I think if you paid attention to the details of the story, you'll appreciate it even more.
But the more you pay attention, the more you realize it's not perfect. I think one of the problems for me after watching is the pacing which fel…

I didn't start this anime expecting it to leave me with the emptiness it has left behind.
Honestly, from the first half, starting with the second episode, I already felt a strong connection with the protagonist, Koharu.
At first, we are introduced to a blind girl who wants to be free and feel like a normal person, just like everyone else. She doesn't want her illness to become an obstacle.
In contrast, we have Sorano, a distant and antisocial guy who, unlike Koharu, needs to learn how to be free.
As the story progresses, we see a very human relationship that makes both characters discover sides of themselves they never knew existed.
It shows you that sometimes the best company can simply be someone you can share a beautiful silence with.

An introverted-kinda guy (made by his pretty bad upbringing) meets an optimistic girl that cannot see, and as he keeps interacting with her, he starts to open up.
A very nice story that dwells into topics I haven't really seen: how to deal with a person that has a disability like not being able to see properly.
While watching, I personally was pretty close in thinking and feeling to how the MC was, so it gave me a pretty close look at how to navigate certain situations and to better understand that disability. Opened my eyes a bit, so to say.
I watched it in one go, and some of the episodes went by very fast. The story starts up very sweet, but as the foreshadowing shows, there comes a point where a sudden turn is taken, which is not bad as some of the people in the reviews I've seen wa…

It's rare for a romance anime to leave such a strong impression on me. I honestly didn't expect to like *Toumei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita.* this much.
The premise is simple: a girl who can't see and a relationship that slowly develops between the two main characters. But that simplicity is also one of the anime's biggest strengths.
What I liked the most was how natural their relationship felt. It doesn't rely on unnecessary drama or exaggerated romantic moments. Sometimes, simple conversations, walking together, or the little things they do for each other are enough to make their relationship feel real.
I also like how the heroine's condition isn't just used to make the story sad. The anime focuses more on how she lives her life and how they gradually learn to…

For me the season surprise. A lot of very kind and human sentiments in this story. Solidarity, understanding, love, care.... oh boy... this was quite a good ride. This story is so different from the rest of the season offer, that it becomes a good pace anime in the middle of all this shonnen offier.
Animation is good. A good story does not need a flashy animation, but this one was pretty good.
Episode 12 was awesome. No regrets... this is what Fuyuki's life became. Full of the parents love and an extraordinary boyfriend that fill her life with joy and hope. Oh man, the mangaka that wrote this... the best. The music is top notch too.
Got my 10. As I said, this is the season surprise anime. Fully recommended /
