Magical Warfare

Magical Warfare

Introduction

The world as we know it is actually just half the story, as Takeshi Nanase finds out abruptly one summer morning. On his way to kendo practice, Takeshi comes across an unconscious girl in a uniform he doesn't recognize. Takeshi does the decent thing and saves her, and in return the girl wakes up and accidentally turns him into a magic-user. As Takeshi finds out, there is the world he lives in and the world of magic users. Most magic users just want to peacefully coexist with non-magicians, but there are some with bigger ambitions. Mui Aiba is a magician enrolled in the Subaru Magic Academy, where magic users can learn to control and channel their powers and how to live in peace with regular humans. After his fateful encounter with Mui, Takeshi and his newly magician friends Kurumi Isoshima and Kazumi Ida decide to enroll in the Magic Academy as well. All three friends have different reasons for fighting on, whether they're fighting to escape the past or catch up to the future. They wield different kinds of powers, which they must learn to harness in order to fight off the Ghost Trailers, a group of magicians who are willing to use violence to assert their superiority over humans. Pursued by the Ghost Trailers, Takeshi and his friends must train to become stronger, face the leader of the Trailers, and prevent the beginning of the Second Great Magic War.

Mahou Sensou is a prime example of creators probably saying let's just make an animation that supports the light novel and manga. Do we have enough budget to try hard on this anime? Umm...probably not...., but let's make it and see what happens FOR SCIENCE! Mahou Sensou is an anime where it is a 12 episodes long advertisement and the viewers might be enticed to read the source material for the hope that the source material has to be better than this anime right? This anime can fulfill your fire emblem/bleach needs: Sword Boy fighting magical people. Also it is 2014, so sword boys are emo boys with long bangs. Part of the trend. Now for me to not give this anime a 10/10 would be quite ironic right? After all, I spent around 6 hours watching this. Time is precious and a finite thing in li…

Let just say that I wasted alot of time watching this anime that was original start of the anime being very decent and then went on downhill until the end. This anime is a disaster to being with, with the characters so bland I wish someone with great ideas can help the development of these characters. I wish I want to give this a 0 star, because you know why........CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!! That right, the anime ends with a Cliffhanger ending and then you never know what happens after that with the developers be like "Oh final episode is finish, we are done with this anime, let just move on to another anime projects" .......What kind of developer develops that type of the show and ends it with a disastrous ending. This shows how incompetent the developers are. This show, with right character d…

Summary: Mahou Sensou is the most perfectly average anime I have ever seen. Aside from a trainwreck of an ending that leaves us with more questions than we began the series with, there is almost nothing notable at all about this series either positive or negative. The characters are fine, the action is fine, the plot is fine (until the ending), it's all just "fine" and never any better or worse than that. Positives: + It's a perfectly good time killer. It's nothing special at all, and there's not really any substance to it, but it's a serviceable example of a magical school action show. + It's animated pretty well and the action is dynamic and looks good. + While there aren't a whole lot of positives for this show, there aren't a whole lot of negatives either. Negatives: - Nonsensica…

Story 6 It has a lot of potential but it is way to rushed and then way to slow the next The fact it was left open as a cliffhanger and hasn't got a second season yet bugs me What can i say again an anime that for some reason started out for me as a sort of Bleach but with magic and then it all suddenly went downhill The brother already made my blood boil the moment i heard his voice Things rush by way to fast and relationships are formed in the blink of an eye There is no real build-up to gain and hold the watchers interest. For me i wouldn't watch it since there is no season 2 so this is sadly a waste of time to watch Art 7 Good drawings but a bit boring since they always seem to use the same magic except for maybe 4 characters and the fighting during the war was boring...Nothing gre…

DISAPPOINTING Well tbh I was really disappointed, when I saw the Title "Magical Warfare" I first thought it was awesome judging only by it's title. First the CONFUSION which all came to our mind in the first episode, it could've been a great anime IF they gave us a introduction and little information that we all find in most anime. BY FAR THE WORST ANIME ADAPTATION I HAVE SEEN IN MY ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE. Animation(BAD) Story(BAD AF) YOU CAN'T IMAGINE HOW MUCH HATRED I HAVE IN MY HEART JUST WATCHING THIS PATHETIC SHIT. I almost dropped this piece of shit, I only continued watching this because maybe something great fucking happens but NOOOOOOOO, nothing at fucking all has something great even happened in this series even worse than 'Seven Deadly Sins Season 3" like HOLY SHIT may god purif…

in the beginning it was pretty okay, nothing special but also nothing bad but then at the end they had you hanging. Episode 12 wasn't a continue of episode 11 i think bc they didn't follow up. And then at the end something happened that left everyone confused. This needs a follow up bc they can't just let it end here, that just doesn't make sense if they do!!! maybe they explained or let it see in the manga but I'm not sure bc I didn't read it maybe am gonna do that and hope that I'm not confused anymore if I do.

Surprisingly, beside other reviews, I actually really liked this anime. It was overwhelming at first trying to understand everything that was going on. But this anime had a lot of potential. The way that this story was introduced was kinda weird and shaky but I found a lot of romance and I like romance anime's. I also liked the character development throughout the anime as well. I find it strange who the main male character's objective was and who he wanted to be with. Later on in the anime it got interesting, with all these problems and battles, it showed that they can struggle too. I find it strange how some people never really showed their potential and their power and I wish that was introduced more. It was a shocker that there wasn't a second season, considering how much of a cliffhan…

I really wish I hadn't watched this. It's a few hours of my life I will never get back. The story is stupid and unbelievable. Forget the tired anime tropes like kid who gets powered up starts wailing on people who have been learning how to use magic their whole lives. Forget the fact that everything that was happening in the plot was so heavily telegraphed, you'd think they brought Samuel Morse in as a story consultant. Forget the fact that you probably will have figured out 90% of the plot by the 2nd or 3rd episode and the rest of the anime is a boring exercise in watching the rest play out. Forget all those it's just badly paced and never manages to achieve any tension or involvement. Final nail in the coffin for this story. It doesn't have an ending. What's worse this isn't a spoile…

Story: 7 - It started strong but it didn't manage to go all the way to the end. Also left you with a cliffhanger. I guess it's meant to make the viewers to read more about it or get them curious what will be the ending. Needless to say, I think there could be a better ending for it. Art: 7 - I guess it's okay. There are times it's not consistent but it's ok. It's hard to animate you know. Also, there's a thing called budget. :) Sound: 7 - I don't mind the sound really but I guess it fits the anime. One thing I just notice is that it lacks bg music that can build up the tension but that is also because of the story. Characters: 7 - They're good. But the development could really use some work. Enjoyment: 7 - I enjoyed it. Really. It's not an anime that I'll be too excited to know what…

I looked into Mahou Sensou [Magical Warfare] just to see if it was worth watching, based off of previews the anime looked interesting as well as it had allot of my favorite genres. So, I watched it and must of the anime was well written, character art was well created, character voice acting was well placed. The only true draw back is there's not enough episodes or seasons to truly give this anime the credit it deserves. The creators, in my opinion, just wanted to make a quick anime but really didn't focus whether or not to give it a good ending like it should have.

I don't usually hate a work of fiction. Usually if I didn't like it, then it either was disappointing but not bad or it just wasn't for me. It takes a lot to make me actively hate your work. So where does Magical Warfare "succeed" where so many before it "failed"? To be fair, it starts off pretty well. Our main character is already in a relationship with a girl, the system of magic used is interesting having been split into around 6 or 7 different schools that range from the usual slinging fireballs to matter manipulation to battle precognition and the setting is a good enough masquerade-style setting which justifies the "magic high school" setting reasonably well. So where does it go wrong? The MC's relationship? Turns out that's a "fake relationship" just to keep creepy guys away fro…

The premise of the show is nothing particularly innovative, the title speaks for itself. It's a real-to-magical world transfer concept (otherwise know as the isekai genre) that has become rather popular with the current generation; and I am a sucker for it as well so it seemed like a safe watch. As i got to episode 8 of 12 i was wondering why it was so poorly received in the various anime communities. The artwork would give mid-seasons Bleach a run for its money. The sound was passable as it is in most shows and the voice acting was above average (although the subtle "nasal" twist on Mui's speech did become a little annoying). The character designs and attitudes weren't for the most part cookie cutter tropes, but you may notice some popular character archetypes in the mix. Ironically, the…

For real, never watch this anime. The story is slow, we don't understand what is happening and nothing is well explained, the way the anime is directed is just horrible and the characters aren't charismatics. During the whole anime we are expecting for something better, but actually it goes worse and worse.... The secondary characters aren't useful, they are supposed to "help" the main character, but in reality they aren't helpful at all. Even in the "side of the bad guys" no one has an interesting ideology. And by the way if someone understood the end of the anime let me know ... (sorry for bad english)

[mostly spoiler free review] I like to keep reviews relatively short, and there's only one thing I can say about Mahou Sensou - it was a complete train-wreck. It started out well enough with the introduction of the main characters Takeshi, Mui and Kurumi and immediately managed to grip my attention with an (albeit cliche) "dark mysterious tone" regarding Takeshi's home life. Further along into the first episode, I got the impression this was going to turn into some sort of loli harem: not necessarily a bad thing, I thought, as long the producers tie the romantic and magical elements together properly. How naive I was. And then it began. Mahou Sensou spiralled into chaos from the second episode, and maintained its destructive path until there was no hope for the series at all. The main fa…

WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS: Enjoy the review ^^ Lets talk about Plot-holes - In the beginning... Why are they chasing that girl, they explain it but it doesn't really make sense... they also don't really explain why this and that happens it just happens and you just want to appreciate the action because it is alright -Why is it anyone who sees magic can become a magician, its the dullest idea i've ever seen, there is no special ritual or process that transfers you into magicians doesn't make you sympathise with the protagionist at all! - Ending: They go back and in time for some reason, it serves no purpose and you're left at that what a crappy shit ending - Content: Its jammed packed as it is, being a 12 episode series. They push as many as ideas as they can into your face, its ha…

Can somebody please remind me to never watch a Madhouse anime ever again. I am grateful to Madhouse for producing many good anime, but can they please finish the anime in a second season instead of leaving us at an enormous cliffhanger every time at the end of the first one. Now I have one more anime on my completed list without knowing how it actually ends and it doesn't even have a manga, just a light novel, and to be honest the anime is not worth reading it. And here's all why: PLOT AND STORY LINE 📜 When I saw this anime and read the synopsis I knew that I shouldn't expect much of it. It is just another, average fantasy and magic anime, with a mainly shallow story and characters, a poor romance, predictable events, annoying shoujo and fan-service elements and an even more irritating…

It's a shame that this anime turned out to be so disappointing.  It had a lot of promise but it really got screwed over.  This anime is based off a ten volume light novel series of the same name but fails to provide an adequate adaptation.  Even the author of the novels didn't like it !  Mahou sensou has an interesting enough premise : the main character Takashi has a troubled home life and one day he and his friends are put in a war in the magical world. This could of been a great piece of work but the writers wouldn't let that happen. From what I ready from others, the anime tries to adapt 6 volumes of content into 12 episodes.  I can't verify this considering how the novels aren't even translated in English and the manga adaption follows the same route as the anime.  Compressing the st…

This one didn't deserve most of the hate that it is getting. It may not be mind blowing but it has a LOT of things going for it: cute girls, magic powers/fighting down fairly well, all sorts of mystery and twists and turns, a plot that is paced well, lots of character development, good animation and OST, bad guys you love to hate, characters who turns from good to bad and vice verse, basically is had a ton of tropes but they are generally done well. There are some dropped plot points, and some things that are smoothed over a bit too nicely but that is typical in this genre, it is tough to do so much in a single season. So here is the problem... the ending is GARBAGE. It literally ends on a cliffhanger, basically mid-sentence. I have seen anime put their eggs in the sequel basket many a ti…

Oh dear lord the HATRED I have for this show. This show was the worst anime I have ever laid my eyes on. Please Note that in order to accurately and thoroughly explain my hatred for this series I will be spoiling quite a bit. Story-1 Where to begin with this wreck of a narrative? How about how it's one of the most generic things I've ever laid eyes on. This story goes through the check list like it enjoys ticking those boxes for a 100%. It starts with a flashback years ago the world was one and some people could use magic. Then this evil guy tried to kill all non-magic users so the magic people split into 2 groups. The group that opposed Mr. Genocide (not his real name but all the characters are so generic that I forgot all their names and I'll be damned before I look them up) split the…

OK I am glad I happened to watch this before looking at reviews (because we all know how that can go). This anime is supposed to be about a magical war, but really, you don't go into it know anything about what's going on and when you finish, you know even less. There are odd explanations throughout the series which are more like information dumps but about what? Uh, good question. They're for characters you don't know well and didn't realize things were going on in the background. Uh...? I actually did enjoy the anime. I had questions and kept watching to see if they got answered but the ending of the anime left me annoyed. Not only is it a cliffhanger, it's a poorly crafted one at that. I was constantly left wanting more in this anime, but the cliffhanger was worse than the one for Zombi…
