The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army Was a Human

The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army Was a Human

Introduction

Under the tutelage of the great demon warlock Romberg, Ike grew up with knowledge regarding an ancient advanced civilization that once ruled the land. Coupled with his innate talent in magical arts, this upbringing allows Ike to quickly rise in the Demon Lord's army ranks, leading his brigade to consecutive victories against humans. However, Ike has a secret—he is a human himself. Despite knowing all too well the consequences if this information is ever to leak, Ike is willing to face such immense danger to achieve his goal: find a way for humans and demons to coexist and stop the war that has been carried on for far too long. The premise seems good and it's refreshing to see a world from some other perspective other than the good side. I just didn't expect the attitude and personality of the MC being what it is when he's lived all his life with the Demons. The story is kind of ridiculous but it's understood much clearly in later episodes. I kind of find it funny that on episode 6 at the end of the episode such graphical oversight happened too. I personally think it is a wonderful story, magnific, superb even. There's no relation to game elements, RPG, and such. The incantations for spells is quite original it isn't clear what they're saying at all. Perhaps with persistence you can. I wish there is a proper end to this of Demon kind world domination.

A relatively new anime at the time of writing this review with a nice twist on the demon vs. human dynamics that many anime of the fantasy and magic tag/genre have focused and been based on. For what sets it apart from other anime which are like it by its setting is the unique twist of a human collaborator on the side of the demons. However, unlike some anime where there are humans siding with non-humans fighting humans, this human, our protagonist, Ike, is working not only for the cause of the demon army, but as a reformer. This reform outset of Ike is what sets him apart for other characters of his type, the collaborator, because what makes him a very interesting main character is how different he is from his counterparts which are also his coworkers and how mysterious he aims to conceal…

What did the author do to the studio in order for them to absolutely butcher his work like that? They dropped multiple CGI nukes. It was carnage for the viewers eyes. I've seen plenty of horrible animations across the years. But it's gonna take a literal slideshow with no frames to defeat this one. It's all CGI of the worst magnitude. In like 90% of the frames. But there's no point in ripping in the obvious flaw of the animation. Because i took a little time to search this show's manga out of pure curiosity. And i found out, IT"S SUPPOSED TO BE AN ISEKAI. Like they skipped this entirely at the start of the show. SO it wasn't a hit on the author. It was the isekai treatment. Also, the pig was supposed to be a thinner ORC. Honestly the manga is also meh in drawing quality. The only reason im…

Quite a good anime, lots of action, interesting battle scenes, beautiful drawing, pleasant music. I didn't understand one thing, where is the isekai here, if this is just fantasy, it's not about the reincarnated main Nero, but simply about a strong mage-commander. But in essence it's like Overlord or Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu, fantasy about the strategy of managing a "city/state" and the strategy of war, with accompanying forays for reconnaissance and solving internal problems. I treat it as a diary, which contains records of the great feats of the main character, and most likely this is so. The heroes here are well-written, they are interesting. I like the goals of the main character in many ways. At a certain point, you stop distinguishing demons from people (I saw this…

This is honestly a weird adaptation While i have not read the source material, i could tell that story is quite rushed I wonder if its a problem with adaptation or with source material itself Cut this adaptation in half like Phil Swift and it would been way better as pace could been made slower The pace is like watching a drag race, you start the episode and the next moment episode is finished and you are left a bit confused where your time go or its 12-13min episode Its not the "product" of being absorbed into the episode due to it being thanks to intricate yet well paced story telling... Its closer to bombarding you with so much content that its similar to TikTok's or Shorts Not a good thing but certainly not a bad one to a degree For example i didnt even knew this is Isekai series, i…

Okay, the show has an interesting premise - someone who would not otherwise belong somewhere is OP in that responsibility. However, even though IKE (the main character grew up in this world and learned from his predecessor it fails to explain something critical - this is not an issekai, so how on (name planet of the show) does IKE know what a firearm is? It doesn't mention at all his origin from another world, nor anything of the like. He did not die and reincarnate (as far as we know) and yet he knows things that do not even belong in the world - that is a stretch, one which caused me to rate this as a 6 instead of a 7 or 8. Aside from this, it has promise, as long as no other glaring issues (such as the above) arise or as long as they can explain why IKE knows these things he shouldn't.

A decent Anime. It's about a Human who is pretending to be a demon in the service of the Dark Lord as they wage war against humanity. You can clearly see that it's a low budget anime. The animation is not great, the writing is infantile and the story is all over the place. They also frequently pad up the runtime with unnecessarily long interactions that only serve to annoy the viewer. The first half of the Anime is rife with it. The main problem is that the anime doesn't know what it wants to be. There are episodes of nonstop combat, "tactics" and grandstanding. And then there are lighthearted romcom episodes that feel like fillers. The protagonist is surrounded by silly comic relief characters whenever literally everyone else in the world acts seriously. It can be really jarring at tim…

"he Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army Was a Human" is one of those animes that come every season with the typical overly powerful protagonist without much of a personality except for being capable, humble and noble (so that the viewer may self-insert), where women seem to gravitate towards and fight for his attention but he's oblivious and every time someone makes an advance it is interrupted. A dumb relief character, fantasy elements (magic, demi-humans...), and one-dimensional villains can't be missed either. The story is simple, we follow a human working for the demon lord (who is a young looking girl who seems to have a slight crush on him, just like every other girl) who is on a war campaign to unite the races. Along the way there will be rivalries, alliances, many fights…

This should be renamed "The demon army's strongest mage is a modern day human pacifistic dumba*s". That about sums up why this sucks so much. Basically, we have this idiot that pretends to be cool and wants humans and demons to get along, despite from what I understand it never actually interacting much with humans in the first place as he was raised by a demon (this is shown from the start, not a spoiler). He is shown as being collected and "smart" but honestly, his tactics suck and he, despite where he was raised and despite the humans clearly being more evil than the demons in this case, refuses to kill. Not even the most despicable enemy will be killed, when he corners them he simply lets them go, even going so far as to stopping someone who had his people killed and pretty much ens…

From the start, I knew this anime wasn’t going to make it into my top 10 of anything. I noticed right away that it was low-budget, with cheap CGI shortcuts, but I didn’t expect to end up disliking it this much. The plot is a slow, boring mess, with details thrown in randomly and no real purpose. I was initially going to rate it a 5, since it’s technically average, but I could only make it through by watching at 3.00x speed—just to get it over with. Even at that speed, I was bored and actually wished it would go faster. If I have to watch something sped up just to tolerate it, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to any regular viewer. The ironic part? This is supposed to be an action anime, but it’s so slow and pointless that by episode 7, I was asking, where is the spice? And that’s big c…

It's a poor fantasy anime. The storyline is not good, and the logic of the story is off. The MC is sometimes super strong, but sometimes he is weak and open to obvious ambush. The first episode was eye-opening, and after that, everything went downhill. The animation itself is still acceptable, given the studio's art style standard. I guess they couldn't make it too fancy with the limited budget as well. Overall the anime is surpar standard, the only reason I continue to watch is to enjoy the voice of Lelouch jp VA, nothing else. I don't recommend to watch it unless you are watching to pass your free time or VA that you love is voicing on the character.

We'll go straight to the points (without mentioning its animations because I already anticipated it): What's good? + Jiron (he's carrying the entire series really hard) + Tensura wannabe (?) + Generic isekai story, but still interesting What's bad? - bad CGI - brightness - colour composition & details, especially some of their outline that hurt my eyes - lots of boring scenes that made me sped up to 1.25x As a crappy Isekai anime watcher, I'm still intrigued for a 2nd season if existing since they haven't dug up enough Ike's story before death and Romberg. However, this needs a slight studio upgrade. Overall, this anime is recommended only for anime fans with low standards.

My thoughts are complicated on this one The premise is good, I actually liked that it didn't take itself too seriously with the inclusion of the pig and succubus characters giving a comic relief (even if I'm in the minority on that) The story itself is fine. For me, I have issues with a lot of the execution, it thinks it is smarter than it is, Ike is supposed to be a genius tactician yet it is hard to see that being the case. also the use of weapons and siege tactics is often totally wrong. For a series that is a medieval fantasy and features a lot of medieval warfare, it lacks even a surface level understanding of the subject matter It felt like the series tried to do too much, tried to be too many things, it needed to focus in more on just a few elements and then it might have been a be…

I liked this show for the following: - Medieval fantasy setting - No characters seem truly OP yet, all have a weakness and go through trouble - MC has an interesting backstory - Large-scale battles, tactics, kingdoms - Human/demon interactions are interesting - MC has a secret identity I disliked this show for the following: - Harem-like aspects (to be fair one is a pig-demon-man, though) - Ending was weak... I actually didn't realize what I watched last week was in fact the final episode 12 of the season - Fairly predictable plot from episode to episode - MC teleporting around so often, it sacrifices the journey/adventure of traveling in this world, all to increase the pacing of events - MC's secret identity turns out to be not-so-secret as time goes on - Some of the animation is bad at…

Weak storyline, the plot is boring. I can't understand why some reviewers talk about "rebirth in another world". I didn't even notice a scene like that. The episodes are action-packed but most of the scenes don't make sense. Like episode 8, for example. The hole in the wall is patched up with a spell, only to then open a new hole in a different place during a counterattack. Military and strategic decisions are absolute nonsense. On second glance, they probably tried to add a "harem touch" but apparently didn't quite follow through with this idea. I really wonder where all these animes without a meaningful story come from. It's truly amazing that they even take the time to animate something like that.

PANTRIAS

This anime is a fine example of "so bad that it's good" while not being too much of a bother to watch. The title gives away exactly what kind of anime this is. Cheap, generic copy paste isekai, that portrays demons as the "good side" you'd want to root for. A pleasant surprise was how nuanced it manages to be, especially in contrast to how the storytelling can be rather blunt and rough at times. There's no time wasted with filler content, it is straight to the point and most interactions have plot relevance aside from the very obvious comedic moments. The pig is whiny and annoying, but not overly so. He can be taken seriously and has an actual useful role, being the main character's tactical right hand. The girls are all designed overly "sexy", clearly an effort to appeal to fanservi…

This anime is a clear example of how a great opportunity for innovation in the genre can be wasted—not by revolutionizing it, but by settling into such a state of creative laziness that it ends up being boring. The plot is overly simplistic and basic, and the supporting characters are more like puppets, unfortunately in a negative sense. They're used as mere props for the protagonist, with shallow, caricature-like traits that rely on repetitive and tired stereotypes. The battles are almost nonexistent, with only a few rare exceptions. They unfold in one of two ways: either you're bored watching the protagonist lift a staff, or you're subjected to awkwardly animated monsters that move clumsily, though at least they follow some kind of logic. One of the few strengths of this work, however…

IN A NUT SHELL REVIEW this anime is teeming with tropes an repetitive notions. the first few episodes will draw you in, but the remainder of the season will have you yawning as our main character hops ceaselessly from 1 "unwinnable" battle to the next. presented as a crazy over powered and genius commander magician, Main character's relationships with others is the main reason for watching this show. yet, as the season progresses those relationships, except for those under his direct command, expire and go no where leaving them as time sink filler to help bring this average work of anime to 12 episodes. the plot is stagnant for the most part, leaving us at episode 12 seemingly where we began at episode 1, and if animation quality matters to you at all, just do not watch this as its poor/…

After having finished this anime, I feel pretty safe in repeating what my preliminary review said: it's fine. Everything is fine. Nothing is great. Nothing is particularly bad. It's... fine. That is simultaneously the best and worst thing I can say about this anime: it's fine. The show manages to do everything that it sets out to do, which is basically to "not completely suck" and it manages to do that. However, when not being terrible is the height of your ambition, it's also the best you can hope to accomplish. So this show... doesn't suck; which is not praise. It is forgettable mediocrity: something to pass some time and then forget everything about it in less time than it takes you to click on a different show to watch. The show's title tells you all you need to know about the concep…

Introducing a gun in a medieval fantasy anime always a terrible idea, as it disrupts the very essence of magic and fantasy. The mismatch in time and theme gives off an impression of a lazy strategy to conclude story arcs, resembling cheating game. I understand its from the lost civilization but deym, right at the start of the series?! Dunno who came up with that idea, the director, writer or author but it totally wrecks the mc's strategical characteristics. Using a gun ain't exactly what you call a 'strategy' in a medieval fantasy world. The story falls flat, was expecting some 'Overlord' vibes but got let down. And why introduce a useless teleportation if they end up trekking for four days on foot? It's painful to watch. On the bright side, the characters are interesting and funny. The…
