Oh man..... what a thing
Its crazy to me how this is the second worst rated anime and not first, at least skelter heaven had the dignity to have its own plot, even if its generic and with horrible dialogue, this ova its the most obvious evangelion rip-off that could even be conceived, it plagiarizes shinjis conflict with his father, the angels, the soundtrack....
So the story its nonsensical, we have a space ship burning up at the start, i think thats suppossed to be important, then we have an introduction to the ancients, some generic aliens that invade earth or something i dont know, whose i guess are their version of the angels from evangelion, then these generic anime girls go to some mission where they have to uuuuuhhhhhh, do something, then theres a super bad ancient thats super p…

Hametsu no Mars is a short animation project produced by Idea Factory in 2005, which is simultaneously the same year a visual novel named Hametsu no Mars was released by Idea Factory. The game is rather short according to VNDB and looks quite cheap for its time, so I think it's pretty safe to assume this OVA is an advertising project for the game of the same name. Which explains quite a lot!
The animation is, expectedly, incompetent, but it's not the worst I've seen in anime nor the worst I've seen from the same producer. Skelter Heaven was much worse. You can kind of tell what the scenes in this were supposed to look like in their head, even though they didn't quite get there, missing a few turns and ending up in the next town over. A certain amount of effort went into this, definitely…

Neon Genesis Evangelion is unenjoyable due to being extremely depressing.
Meanwhile, Mars of Destruction is so bad in all aspects that it may come as hilarious for regular viewers.
It is a very generic plot about female teenagers being made to fight with aliens, and the only male one is forced to wear a mecha suit by his father. Besides that, there are some plot twists for a story that wasn't shown in the 20 minutes of duration it lasts.
The animation itself is terrible for its time, being released in 2005 but looking like something made a decade before, at least. Most of the characters have the same faces, and the teenage girls are only distinguishable by the random hair color.
It is especially notable the lack of movement of the characters and scenes that affects the events of the st…

Idea Factory, the same geniuses who brought us Skelter Heaven, also blessed us with a second masterpiece of Japanese animation. I had heard of Mars of Destruction before but I never watched it and didn't know anything about it. That changed today. Mars of Destruction is a 20 minute OVA from 2005 based on a visual novel. If this was an attempt at advertising the source material like these short OVAs often are then they've done a terrible job.
The only positive thing that can be said about Mars of Destruction is that it is quite entertaining (for the wrong reasons). The animation is shit, the audio sounds like it was recorded on an Xbox default headset and the plot is nonsensical although in some ways it could be compared to Evangelion or Gundam (just like Skelter Heaven before it).

Apart from two horrible flaws:
- the main protagonist not being shown any significant skill, having his arm dislocated and not using his other hand
- and the two girls at the beginning that are waiting to be shot on before starting to shoot
apart from this, I found the script and the intended scenario pretty interesting. Would have liked to see more before judging. I also like the slow pace because I hate how everything in modern animes is extremely degenerate and fast, annoying, "weeb like" and stupid.
I liked the idea that humans actually come from Mars, and that we are the ones who are invaders against an innocent monster-like species who would be originally from earth. It could remind us of very well written scenarios like Attack on Titans, Nier Automata, Undertale. It could have been…

I want to make a case for the protagonist, Takeru Hinata.
I analyzed his character, and I wanted to share it with you guys:
Takeru Hinata (or Steve in the English dub) is a heavily misunderstood protagonist. He's actually peak writing. IMO he's the best written anime/manga, and he is above Joe Yabuki, Reinhard, Johan Liebert etc etc. Yk, in most cases I do agree that writing is subjective, but not with Takeru Hinata. Steve is objectively the best written anime/manga character, and possibly even the best written character in all of fiction.
Steve's love escapades:
Mars of Destruction (known in Japan as Mars of Destruction) follows a group of elite specialists defending Tokyo against a mysterious alien threat. The Catalyst: In the year 2010 (or 2010 in the game), a manned mission to Mars…

i would give this a 0 but the fan dub is magnificent i love everything about it
This felt like a regular show episode
I was wondering what muscle man was doing on the voice acting team
The story's not good at all, i couldn't focus on it to be honest
It feels like it's bad on purpose, I don't know who wrote this but they're an uncomprehended genius judged too harshly by the society we live in
it might get worst anime of all time reward and I would be proud if i was the author
i don't know what else to write and they don't let me publish this review for some reason so I'm just gonna type bullshit till it's accepted

God, this was awesome. Don't even read this review, just go in blind and have a wonderful time.
I got a laugh from the bottom of my soul out of this anime, the type of laugh that puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day and sticks with you. It's just... so shit. Everybody already knows that, but it must be said that the combination of awkward, stilted action, barely any music, and a totally asinine generic twist at the end make for something truly magical.
It's not a surprise at all to me that there almost 4,000 10/10 ratings for this show along with all the 1s.
Not that it matters a ton, but I don't think I've seen anyone mention that this seems heavily ripped off from Muv Luv. The main characters name being Takeru, the killer aliens with a weird abbreviated name, the bodysuits…

Third review in the shitty anime review series: Mars of Destruction, a work of art. You ever asked your mother for McDonald's and then been told you have McDonald's at home? Well let's put it this way - here we have Neon Genesis Evangelion at home, and boy is it hilarious.
Story 2/10, literally nothing to say about this other than they ripped the whole of NGE's plot and made it complete crap. Was it hilarious crap? Hell yeah. Also, complete fun fact, but I counted 3 heads being exploded off (+ 2 almost fully destroyed).
Animation 3/10, christ is the animation ass. But, to be fair, it literally adds to how hilarious this crap is. Expecting a well animated death? Nah, head disappears. For that reason, hell yeah this is worth a watch it's fcking hilarious.
Characters 3/10, welcome to Mars…

My post says recommended because you will learn some "history" of anime. After all, its just 19 mins for at least a "unique" experience.
About history, we have 0, no context at all. The artstyle is poor. Characters are only a few, no great designs. Most of the time you will feel that somehow you have "seen" this anime before (If you has watched the most historical and famous mecha-anime).
But, at the end, it has a very interesting plot twist. That it what can "save" this anime.
Btw, far better than Kanojo Okarishimasu. This not deserved to be the 3th worse anime on the list.

I remember watching this as a very young child out of curiosity and I recently got drunk with my friends and watched this for shits and giggles.
Overall it was a terrible concept, forgettable characters and crisp audio that was made with a toaster. These people decided to bring back the girl that got her head blown off to see if she was still salvageable.
We only really know the names of the main character and the organization of the squad that they are in so the setting has next to no development.
Although it wasn't the absolute worst since there are still worse things to watch than this unfortunately, this at least made me laugh. This is still better than Cautious Hero and Dandadan...
It's something that you could probably get drunk with your friends and watch, but I would not seriou…

After hearing about this absolute train wreck of an OVA my curiosity was peaked so it had to be checked out.
The story is an absolute mess and has the subtlety of a large neon light encrusted house brick being thrown at you, basically alien invasion humanity fighting them etc, there's a twist at the end that's so typical and cliche that it made me laugh out loud and ironically made me wanting more to see where else the absurdity of the plot could go to.
The character designs look kinda cool though for a mid 2000s OVA, the voice acting is really bad and sounds hilariously amateur.
In conclusion an anime OVA that's so awful that it loops around and ends up becoming a meme worthy and infamous disaster piece for all the wrong reasons.

I am beyond speechless right now ngl. I was planning on doing a normal review of me just talking about this anime that I happened to watch yesterday because I was thinking and hearing about how it has a cult following because it’s that bad but as I was coming up with what to write for this review, I realized that there are some things out there that are really beyond description. This is one of those rare occasions where a piece of media is beyond explaining. It's one of those things where you just have to experience it yourself.
All I can really say about Mars of Destruction is that it is easily one of the most throughly entertaining pieces of media that I have seen in quite awhile and I'm dead serious. And I made the greatest decision ever to watch the fan made dub for it. I'd actually…

"Hametsu no Mars" stands as an unparalleled masterpiece in the world of anime. This sci-fi epic takes viewers on an extraordinary journey to the red planet, offering a gripping narrative, awe-inspiring visuals, and unforgettable characters.
The storytelling is nothing short of genius, with each plot twist and revelation expertly crafted to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The meticulous attention to detail in world-building creates a rich and immersive atmosphere that sets "Hametsu no Mars" apart from the rest.
The animation is a feast for the eyes, seamlessly blending stunning visuals with a vibrant color palette that brings the Martian landscape to life. Character designs are both unique and memorable, contributing to the overall visual excellence of the series.

This anime is one of the best anime I've ever seen. The low ratings are due to people who can't understand peak fiction. Watch this to change your life.
Hametsu no Mars movie is an absolute fucking tearjerker that I love coming back to and showing it to people so they also suffer.
Despite having watched it three times already, I still cry with it because it's a story done to hurt you specially when you know what's gonna happen. It explores our desire of "I could of have done something better" a lot which is something I find incredibly interesting. It is definitely not a movie that can be watched alone without the anime so be aware of that.
In the movie we finally get to explore Makinohara Shouko's character in an extensive way which I truly appreciate because it's the only character that…

Of course, as an avid anime fan, sooner or later you dive into the deepest depths of the internet to quench your ever-growing thirst for animated goods. In your quest to find the One Piece, you stumble across some of the more underrated pieces of fiction there are, like Beck for me or something similar, or even an underrated slice of life. But of course, diving into the vast ocean of anime has its problems. You see, not every sea is clean in this world, and like some beaches that are so picturesque that even the most prestigious director could not replicate their beauty, there are beaches with trash and hard rocks on the ground, and the worst part is that they are overcrowded by some of the most noisy characters in this world.
The deeper you go, the more you travel, and the more you reach…

i don't even know what the fuck to say about this show it was absolutely terrible and i wasted 19 minutes of my precious day watching this piece of shit, animation is garbage, sound is shit, only reason i'm rating it a two is because it is a slight improvement from their other shit show, this sent one of my friends jumping off a 10 story building, i cried, i don't know what to do with my life anymore, my other friend slowly peeled all of their skin off with a potato peeler which all happened because of this god forsaken anime.
but is that fucking asuka langley soryuu with her hair cut?????

Hametsu no Mars is what you get when... I don't even know how this abomination was created. It's far past "bad", it's actually an incoherent mess of a shit show in the form of an anime. But despite all of that, I highly recommend that *everyone* watches it.
(This is a spoiler free review)
Everything about this anime is bad: from the terrible (and somewhat inexistant) character personalities, to the mess that I dare you to call a plot. It almost feels like everyone that had a part in the production either hated what they were creating or they did not care at all. Hametsu no Mars feels souless, as though they didn't try to create an actual story at all. But funny as it may be, I beg you to watch Hametsu no Mars. After going through the absolute worst of the worst, I started appreciating t…

Yeah this shit is pretty awful.
This should be a given because I think it’s one of the lowest rated shows on all of MAL. Which is completely fair, the immediate reaction you get from watching this is “how the fuck did this get greenlit.”
However I definitely think this anime is overhated.
I know I gave it a 3/10 let me explain.
Even though this shit was absolutely atrocious, it was so bad that it became extremely enjoyable.
The entire thing is only 19 minutes, and the plot is so excruciatingly awful that you can’t help but laugh at how anyone thought any of the plot decisions would be a good idea.
Compared to literally any of the shitty isekai or fantasy seasonal anime I’ve tried to watch in the past, this is the most enjoyable thing ever.
I’d much rather watch something that is bad becaus…

The film must have been damaged or something. Because it was only filled with worst possible animations, designs and sound effects. I don't know what the movie was about or why it was shot. There was only one thing I knew for sure. This young man in the suit seemed to be the main character because the movie was based entirely on him. It was so gruesome and I didn't get the point of it. But still that man kept wearing his suit and being the worst main character in the worst anime ever, through the duration of the movie. Without even realizing it... I found my hand was clenched in a fist and I went to the bathroom to puke.
(I just tried to write my opinion of this pile of garbage called Hametsu no Mars by using and changing a quote from Fire Punch. If you care about your sanity, I advice y…
