My Little Monster

My Little Monster

Introduction

Shizuku Mizutani is apathetic toward her classmates, only caring about her grades. However, her cold view of life begins to change when she meets Haru Yoshida, a violent troublemaker who stopped attending class after getting into a fight early in the school year. He is not much different from her, though—he too understands little about human nature and does not have any friends. Much to Shizuku's surprise, he proclaims that she will be his friend and immediately confesses his feelings toward her upon meeting her. Because of her lack of friends and social interaction, Shizuku has a hard time understanding her relationship with Haru. But slowly, their friendship begins to progress, and she discovers that there is more to Haru than violence. She begins to develop feelings for him, but is unsure what kind of emotions she is experiencing. Together, Shizuku and Haru explore the true nature of their relationship and emotions. Very Disappointed, Big Potential for this series and its faults are not even its own. My main issue is how the anime ends. It does not feel like an ending obviously because it is not. With this being an old series already it's pretty clear it won't be getting a season 2, without knowing that I thought it would be just a quick watch, just to learn the anime only covers about 20% or so. The show itself, I enjoyed it. For a romance it's pretty basic as nothing I haven't seen before in a romance happens, However the characters themselves make this pretty enjoyable. Overall, I would say this is a pretty fun watch, but I don't know if I would recommend it to people who don't want to go read the manga after finishing the anime.

Although the first 3 episodes are very fast-paced, it is very annoying that the following episodes are slow and cliché. At the same time, Harun's past and similar things are constantly left incomplete. The relationships of the side characters are even incomplete and inconsistent.. also, when the main character insists on 'lesson' just as a relationship is about to happen between them, it becomes suffocating after a while. Although the scenes are beautiful and meaningful, the number of these scenes really cannot fit in the palm of your hand, but still, if you want to watch a romantic anime to pass the time, I think you can watch it.

I did not enjoy this at all. I had downloaded this a long time ago, which for some reason meant that I had to force myself through the whole thing, which I regret. It is very generic run off the mill romcom slop. Despite being relatively short, all episodes just seem to recycle old genre tropes again and again, with the "comedy" mostly constisting of annoying, goofy characters screaming at each other. Most of the side characters are quite unremarkable. The male protagonist, Haru, doesn't make any sort of meaningful progression to his personality. His antisocial traits including dangerous lack of impulse control are depicted as a goofy quirk. A waste that the animation and art is quite decent.

This anime follows a fairly common high school romance formula. Mizutani is a top student who focuses only on her studies and her future career. Her path eventually crosses with Yoshida, a student known for being problematic but who turns out to be very intelligent. Through their sweet and sometimes slightly awkward interactions, feelings slowly begin to grow between them. One scene I remember very clearly is when Yoshida bluntly tells Mizutani that he likes her on the school stairs. His straightforward confession becomes an important turning point in their relationship. As the story progresses, various problems begin to appear in their relationship. Mizutani at one point feels jealous of Yoshida’s intelligence, while Yoshida himself struggles to understand the feelings he is experiencin…

SPOILER WARNING I first heard of My Little Monster through an online friend, and then i saw it once again scrolling through instagram, saying it's one of those good romcom animes that don't deal with the bs of just not talking it out, so i decided to check it out. After the first 2 episodes, I definitely understand where they were coming from, 2 polar opposites, a kiss, and love confessions from both MCs is definitely a fire way to start off the series. And then came episode 3. We meet most of the cast in these first 3 episodes, and once again, another love confession from both Shizuku and Haru. I started really liking their group, and if im honest, the 4 characters of Shizuku, Haru, Souhei and Natsume carried this series hard. But during the love confessions at the end of episode 3, Har…

I’m writing this review to address two points in particular. To get all of the other stuff out of the way let me say that this is a solid Romance anime. Nothing ground breaking, but it’s interesting and engaging. The animation is nothing to write home about, but it’s a good time and an easy recommendation for any fans of Shoujo. Now the first thing: this is less a complaint about the show and more for the translation on Crunchyroll. In the first episode Haru grabs Shizuku and covers her mouth. The line he says is something along the lines of. “Don’t scream or I’ll hurt you” creepy yes, but what’s a Shoujo manga without a love interest who is a walking red flag. However Crunchyroll decided to translate this line as “Say anything and I’ll rape you” JESUS CHRIST. That is so much more intense…

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun had quite a bit of hype surrounding it a while back, but I can confidently say it doesn't live up to the excitement. It starts off strong enough, I guess, and it looks like it'll deliver a fulfilling, slow-burn romance. But it doesn't. What you get instead are 13 episodes mostly consisting of Shizuku and Haru getting closer for a bit, only for her to suddenly pull back. Then Haru has to spend another episode or two chasing her before she finally opens up for another 5-10 minutes of screentime and starts pulling away again. This repeats ad nauseam for basically the entire show, interrupted only by the occasional completely unrelated side-character arc. There's no real closeness developed between Shizuku and Haru after the first two episodes. The way they are right b…

This is my first time writing a review I decided to do it on this anime specifically because I feel as tho I will not remember it This anime is kinda annoying in the fact that it sits a point where it is not a anime where I just turn my brain off and look at fan service but it also doesn’t have the me on the edge of my seat with super interesting story beats or super meaningful characters I did like this anime the character development from our main characters kinda seems it existence tho the characters from the start and end are more or less the same this kinda bugged me cause it seemed like they where steering towards them being able to come ton understand there feelings but it never happened fully The side characters where nice I don’t remember there names even tho I watched the s…

At first, the anime seemed so interesting. I enjoyed seeing Shizuku and Haru interact; they're such a unique and funny pair! Each side character also carried their own quirk, so it was nice to get to know them a bit. Honestly, the most frustrating part was Shizuku and Haru's development. Yes, they were amusing to watch, but them going through a confusing rollercoaster of feelings throughout the entire series got me feeling odd at times. Luckily, their individual characters were somewhat built to be different from the rest, so someway or another, it made sense to have them going up and down with their relationship, but it would have been better to see a better development at the end of the anime. The final episode got me staring at the screen for a bit, for as much I liked their sentiment…

My Little Monster is a refreshing and unconventional shoujo anime that blends comedy, chaos, and unexpected sweetness. At the center of the story is Shizuku Mizutani, a studious, emotionally distant girl whose world gets turned upside down when she meets Haru Yoshida a wildly unpredictable classmate who’s both brilliant and socially clueless. What makes this anime stand out is the dynamic between the leads. Shizuku’s blunt, no nonsense attitude contrasts hilariously with Haru’s impulsive and intense personality. Their relationship doesn’t follow the usual romantic formula, there’s awkwardness, misunderstanding, emotional growth, and a lot of moments that feel surprisingly real for a high school romance. Haru confesses his feelings almost immediately, flipping the slow burn trope on its he…

unique-pov: my little monster had a very unique concept As for me, I haven't watched much of Shoujo Anime but, it quite reveals the point of view from a girl's perspective. It shows that they usually find boys annoying; on the flip side boys, think that they they want to have a relationship with them "and to talk to them" [ep12-2:43] as what anime suggests. art-style: I fell in love with the art style and animation as it Felt like pastel-based colours drawn on-screen. I searched up, but it was made by an unknown manga artist, Robico. Not info further that. animation: 8/10 music:6/10 story:7/10

Honestly i thought it was going to be a good anime where the concept of falling in love will be simple but the female protagonist made everything so shit . I found her really disturbing and annoying .the story was unique but in a bad way for me . I don't think you should watch this if you are planning for a cute romance anime . This anime will just make a simple thing really big and waste your time . Even after completing the anime I didn't feel even a bit attached to the story. The story remains dry thoroughly. The review is my personal opinion but if you want to try something different with no romance then you can go for it.

It's not every day you come across a rom-com that's equal parts sweet and frustrating. I'll start with the good stuff - the characters are pretty well-developed, especially Shizuku and Haru. Their relationship is weirdly adorable, and I loved watching them navigate their feelings for each other. The supporting cast is great too, especially Natsume (he's like the ultimate bro). But here's the thing - the pacing is kinda wonky. Some parts feel rushed, while others drag on forever. And don't even get me started on the plot twists. I mean, I get it, they're trying to keep things interesting, but some of it just feels like unnecessary drama. Despite all that, I still enjoyed this anime. It's like, I couldn't help but root for Shizuku and Haru, even when they were being super annoying. And th…

Review of Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun + Story - Kids falling in love and not knowing how to deal with it, what more can be said? + Romance - There was a kiss scene, but that was it. Not even hand-holding, but how could they when the two main characters were basically never together? + Comedy - It's listed in the genre, but I personally didn't find it funny even once. + Characters - There are two main characters: Haru and Shizuku. - Haru falls in love with Shizuku because she brings him his homework and openly tells him that he has the wrong friends. But apparently, this is about a different kind of love than true love. His behavior is a complete disaster. He harasses, hits, and threatens Shizuku multiple times. The only positive is that Haru isn't interested in any other girl throughout the…

Okay, so I'm 24, and maybe that's why I'm a bit critical about "My Little Monster." But let's talk about it! First up, the good stuff: Yamaken, Natsume, Sasahara, and Misawa. These characters had some real development and watching them change and grow was a highlight for me. It was genuinely nice to see their journeys throughout the series. But, let's talk about the rest. Shizuku, honestly, she just didn't do it for me. She came across as arrogant and kind of oblivious to her friends' feelings, which was frustrating. And Haru? His whole thing with being tough and into fist-fights felt a bit too much. Together, they kind of had this toxic, co-dependent vibe going on, which was a bit concerning. Maybe this kind of dynamic works in a high school setting where clichés about how boys and gir…

Girl with a bad attitude meets an immature controlling psycho and they fall in love and have an extremely toxic relationship. Not cute. I think this anime would have been many times better with a different male lead. Blond guy is way way way better in every imaginable way and isn't actively violent and horrible. Taming a habitually violent person (who hurts and threatens FL several times) with major emotional and psychological problems is so far not romantic, it's insane and dangerous. ML here should not be in a relationship, but in therapy. I think you can have one half of a couple in a romance who has a bad attitude or major problem, but not both. FL is barely mature enough for a relationship, but ML is not in any way, shape, or form and a relationship with him would be abusive because…

I really like this. This is the first romance anime I've watched, I've re-watched it many times, the art style is good. I really like the opening! I like the art style. I even memorized the opening of this anime but unfortunately now I've forgotten a bit T-T I like Shizuku who tries hard, even though she acts indifferent to those around her, but actually she also cares about those around her, especially the people close to her. because in the anime the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, I've read the manga until the end, I really like this!!

The story sure is unique, but the story is frustrating, there are some personality difference which is a good factor. The Fl was unique at first but soon enough it was clear that she was selfish or maybe self centred, she doesnt come close to an understanding human being and on the other side the Ml is childish earnest, even clumsy but he still understands stuff and is all over an entertaining character. I really liked this anime in the beginning but by the end of it the things were just the same there was no change all together other than some relationship forming. There was no character development evryone was the same. Ofc Haru being the main lead would be the root of everything but... Thats it other characters where just there... Its like everything revolves around him even if noones th…

This could also have been titled Domestic Violence:Origin Story. Shizuku is smart, focussed, hard-working. Unfortunately, one day she crosses paths with Haru. He is violent, jealous, and has no understanding of, or interest in, how anyone else thinks or feels. In other words, someone who Shizuku should stay well away from. He is an incipient abuser who needs therapy, not a girlfriend. Unfortuntely, Shizuku falls in love and forgives every red flag. Haru's default reaction to every stress is violence. See a friend talking to Shizuku? Attack. Encounter his brother? Grab the class president by the throat and hold her hostage. The worst of it is that not only does he never understand the harm he is doing, not only does everyone keep forgiving him, but the victims blame themselves. He's misun…

I really enjoyed the time watching this anime, but if you‘re looking for a show with a conclusion - this isn’t it. The positives first: My Little Monster starts out with an unusually fast pace for anything romance-centric and goes further than some other shows go in their entire runtime in just the first episode. The characters are fun and interesting, but show very little development in the short 13 episodes. I loved how blunt and realistic the dialogue was at times, and some scenes had me laughing out loud. The art was pretty good - nothing outstanding, but pretty to look at and a nice colour scheme. Unfortunately however none of the arcs in this show seem resolved at the end. Neither the main protagonists’ relationship, nor any of the side characters arcs or the questions about certai…
