Plastic Neesan

Introduction

Iroe Genma is a third-year high school student often referred to as "Elder Sister" despite her short height. This troublemaking teenager is the president of her school's Model Club, which is dedicated to building plastic models of various objects and structures, such as cars, boats, and even robots. Joined by her two underclassmen, the violent Hazuki "Okappa" Okamoto and the rational Makina "Makimaki" Sakamaki, the small group aims to carry out their club duties but are often sidetracked by a myriad of distractions. From battles between club members to lessons on how to confess to your crush, these three schoolgirls get caught up in all sorts of wacky, and downright outrageous situations! It might not look like it at first, but some of the finest gag humour you will see in anime lies right here, folks. A feat that becomes all the more impressing when you consider the entire runtime of this show shies from 28 minutes approximately. Just so that you know, that's usually what the average episode of a regular anime last usually. Just from the get-go, you are greeted with perhaps, one of the more chaotic anime intros I have ever seen. That pretty much lies the tone and feel of the rest of show: raw, pure, and unadulterated chaos. Nothing on this series makes sense: why do the main-character girls all have plastic models of vehicles seemingly attached to their head at all times? Why is there a presumably alive toy soldier hiding in the tank on top Maki-Maki's head? Why does Oka…

I think this anime is alright. While there are some parts that are more enjoyable and relatable than others, overall it is not that intriguing. This anime is more akin to portraying the everyday lives of three female high school students having fun together. The art style and animation are fine; each episode consumes only 2 minutes, by the way. This anime may have a different impression on girls because it portrays the life of a girl. And the storyline is not that unique, and this anime gives no shit to character development. If you feel free, you can just try this anime with no expectations.

The word I would use to discuss Plastic Neesan is this: Kinetic. It has the energy of a bouncy ball you've thrown at the floor as hard as you could. It's fast, sometimes loud, and you have no idea where it's going to go next. Plastic Neesan is a series of gags and jokes with a thin veneer of a setting draped over it in order to justify its own existence. beginning with the story, there is none. A group of girls who supposedly enjoy building plastic models get into reality-bending hijinks, though the plastic models are nowhere near the focal point of the anime. Again, it exists only to justify the jokes it has to tell. And I must say it succeeds on this front, as I often found myself laughing at the sheer absurdist comedy unfolding before me. However, given this style, it is sometimes at ri…

It's only 25 mins, but still not worthwhile in my opinion. Not only is there barely a story, but it is very inappropriate at times, bordering on hentai. The comedy, aside from maybe 1-2 funny jokes, is pretty intelligence-insulting - gag comedy at its worst. I'm not sure what the point of this show was at all. There is no real takeaway message. The character development is awful, you can find better character development in some 5 minute animated shorts, than in this 25-minute miniseries. I give it a 3 only because the art/animation was pretty good, and the music/soundtrack worked decently well.

What the heck did I just watch? Before I knew it, it was already over... before I can even process what I'm watching, it ended so fast. Life can hit you like that... so can anime too. Well how to describe this anime? Well, just watch it yourself, it's not like you got anything else better to do. Since it's only a short anime, less then 30 minutes, basically one whole episode. A bunch of random things happening, can't really say there's a plot? No character development either. Just things to make you laugh and confused and enjoy. It is simple and not sure how to really write a review on this? Since it's one of those you just gotta see it for yourself type of anime. Premise is simple as we just witness three HS girls doing "ordinary" things. As they go about their daily life with whate…

Plastic Nee-san is one of the very few gag anime that manages to constantly subvert the subversion, in most average gag anime, you can already tell what the punchline is going to be once you see the first few seconds of a scene. In most good gag anime that expectation is subverted, what you expect doesn't happen and you're surprised by something that you simply did not expect. Watch enough of those anime and you can probably tell what they want you to think is going to happen and what is actually going to happen. Plastic Nee-san is one of the few anime that manage to consistently go beyond that point. A scene is set up, you know a punchline is coming and you know what the usual subversion of that punchline would be. Not in this. To more or less "prove" my point I am going to take a scene f…

while I am no professional anime reviewer (if such a thing even exists...), I know a good anime when I see one. it is really funny, even though a few of the jokes were a bit different than what I typically enjoy. the three main characters are so adorable, I cannot possibly pick one to deem "best girl." I really enjoyed it. the only thing I did not like is that it had to end. I recommend this anime to anyone who is looking for a good anime that can be completed in under half an hour, or those who are just looking for something to laugh at.

Plastic-neesan was probably one of the best ONA’s I’ve seen in quite a while. The wacky zany humor that happens on a continuous basis is what make the anime a great one. There were times, however, where I felt that the humor was too zany that it sort of distracts you from the story. The other times, it actually makes up for it for having sub-storylines that actually make the show more entertaining and a pleasure to sit through. Most of the episodes that were classroom-centric involved cutscenes that were a lot more hilarious than they intended to be. From dealing with Saotomi and her battles of being the overweight UwU girl at school (even though no one cares), to the famous scene of Kuniki shaking his pelvis to distract bullies (while also getting picked up by the police in the process)…

"What the actual fuck" is what i thought watching this. This short ONA of 30 minutes in total is a short but hilarious compilation of three girlfriends doing stupid things. The animation style is surprisingly good, switching from different styles to make the joke even better. Sometimes they are cute, other times they are a potato. These jokes are very over the top and ridiculous and i had a good laugh watching them. So don't expect any commonsense. A lot of times I thought "what the fuck is happening". Well now i know, and you should to. No plot or anything, just straight up humor.

Overall, I think Plastic Neesan is one of the most hilarious shows ever. In my video I go into more detail as to why, and highlight the great comedic writing of Cha Kurii. I also discuss why the series has been so successful for over 10 years. Plastic Neesan is an Original Net Animation and ongoing manga both created by Cha Kurii. The series follows three schoolgirls with a passion for making replicas of cars, boats, tanks, and other miscellaneous figures, dedicating their after school free time to their model-making club. With conflicting personalities and quirky behavioral patterns, the girl’s after-school meetings tend to avert from their original purpose of making models and instead shift into some bizarre and outrageous circumstances. With a total runtime of just under 30 minutes,…

Plastic Neesan (2011) Short and to the point episodes. Could have greatly benefited from having a few more minutes in length per episode or too have had 24 episodes instead. Despite that the show is very funny and a good watch. The story doesn't really do much in the way of anything outside of it being a model club and its antics. It doesn't require the progression you would expect. You see some very odd situations such as a baseball player who wears women's underwear trying to rescue some guys get arrested or the Neesan / Chibiko one of the main girls being overly aggressive whilst being cute due to her stature. Ultimately the show is very random but it is not hard to follow. It does do a lot of good. The only negatives are as above being that it could have been longer in length…

its not that i expected much from this anime, but it still managed to disappoint me. here wmy thoughts. Story: 3/10 in the case of a comedy, the story was poor. it had whacky jokes but no joke stuck. as in, no joke had any impact, it tried to jump over the boundaries with the humour, but chickened out and somersaulted and tripped over the fence with its face planted all the way down into bedrock. half-assed and deliberate jokes. but not incredibly terrible. CharactersL; 1/10 this was the real problem with this anime. every one of the main characters was vague in their deisgn. literally no character hadd a diferent feel. no charcater stood out, and the personlaity of the main characters was never set in stone, so even if they broke character we wouldnt know because we dont know what the…

I am guessing by now that everybody has seen the length, and nobody needs any introduction to the simple fact that this Anime is short. In fact, it is so short to the point where the whole Anime would equal an episode of a normal Anime TV series. The short length isn't a problem though, as it doesn't really take away from it's hysterical slapstick comedy at times, because in just twenty slim minutes it manages to extract laughs out of the viewer unlike most comedy Anime series out there, even when some episodes may seem a bit too outlandish and trite. The thing about this series which separates it from the others within the same category, is that it is fun and does not take itself seriously. It doesn't try to force it's slapstick comedy down the viewer's throat, and it has fun with it's…

Do you like Nichijou? If so then this is the anime for you! This anime is kinda similar to Nichijou but it is more humorous (for me) and I actually laughed for the most time unlike Nichijou, the joke only make me giggle but this one actually got me laughing out loud that my mom (I'm still in high school) came in to my room. To summarize this, if you don't care about story and you want funny comedy high school slice of life then this is anime for you. Ignore the critism and the lack of popularity, what's important is the content and the character is full of personality too despite of the short episode. Another thing to note is that the last episode contain mild NSFW scene so if you don't want to see them part then skip the part where they all start to dance at the end of the episode. v…

The biggest laughs I remember having was watching Gintama and Nichijou. They are the kind of comedy that is straightforward and easily amusing, so it might not be the cup of tea for someone seeking a more "highbrow" kind of comedy. They are hyperbolic and very loud, as in they practically shout at the audience "Look at me! I'm doing something stupid and ridiculous!" I remember comparisons linking surprise with our laughter, and that's probably the best analogy for these kinds of comedy - it surprises you into laughter. And it works for me, too effectively, in fact, that I'm literally addicted to it. My viewing of Plastic Nee-san is the result of feeding that addiction. Lasting two minutes per episode (making it altogether a 24 minutes series), Plastic Nee-san features the familiar slice-o…

With 30 minutes to kill, I decided to indulge myself in a comedic anime, hoping to have some giggles before I rest for the night. Plastic Neesan is an anime that is short and sweet. Simple yet delivers. Comedic and unfiltering. Overall, you'll find yourself enjoying that 30 minutes before you move on with your life. ※ Strength ※ - No filters. This anime clearly has no filter when it comes to cussing, sexual innuendo and maturity. That alone stands out from plenty of the animes I watch, let alone comedic animes. This is definitely a plus if you are a fan of these. - Physical Appearance. I personally feel like the anime brings out the personality in the characters rather than relying on cute and moe-looking characters alone. Letting a person's traits, feelings and way of dealing with sit…

If you need to kill 30 minutes and really need a laugh at something goofy and utterly non-nonsensical, Plastic Nee-san will definitely will that void. Best to watch it when you're already in a reduced state of mind, like sleep deprived at 3 in the morning. The name and opening are completely misleading. This has almost nothing to do with model building and is instead just a dozen absurd sketches with a rapid set up and pay off, comedy that pulls no punches and gets away with a lot of really risque humor and scenarios, all with animation quality that is honestly more than the premise deserves.

Plastic nee-san is a short anime of 12 two-minute episodes. So, if you have 30 minutes of free time enjoy this anime. This anime is just a bunch of randomness with random characters having random adventures. There’s not much of a story in there so that’s one thing that’s hard to rate. The music and art in the anime are fine. Nothing outstanding in a good or bad way, but still fitting for this type of anime. The anime is about three high school students who are in a plastic models club. There’s nee-san (the main characters, now guess where the name plastic nee-san comes from) a small girl who doesn’t give a shit about what everybody says, Okappa who looks nice and innocent but is cold and violent and last of all Makimaki a girl who just tags along with the two and must put up with all the…

First of all, I have to say that I have been greatly spoiled to this anime. From the pelvis thrusting dude to the basketball net scene to the dancing naked at the rooftop scene and of course, the all so popular ass and bag shaking scene. I was so surprised of how popular this anime was because of the fact that almost every available scene in this anime has been utilised in videos in one way or another. And after watching this ONA, I can see why. Being a short 25 min long series, I was not expecting much as most of them don't really end up to my liking. However, Plastic Neesan was vastly different from all that. In the short amount of time that was available, the pacing was handled absolutely brilliantly. They managed to cramp in so much interesting content and still make them seem compl…

LA watching Plastic Nee-san after the 4th time, LA thought it was time to actually write a review about this insanely slapsticky comedy anime OVA. The plot is about the daily lives of Iroe Genma, Hazuki Okamoto and Makina Sakamaki and their club activities of the Plastic Model club, but that is nothing but as it's more focused on Iroe, Hazuki and Makina's antics with each other as well as several other characters getting into the mix and ohh boy is the comedy golden here, especially if you love extreme character jabbing and just absurd levels of comedic actions and reactions. In terms of characters, Hazuki voiced by Yumi Uchiyama is your mature yet "not really" character, but is also the character that dishes out the most pain to Iroe and Makina, usually due to her dilated pupils is a cl…
