Sasaki to Miyano is one of very few yaois I've watched that isn't extremely 'rapey' so that's already a plus. Unlike older yaois like from the 2010's, Sasaki to Miyano actually takes place in typical romance anime situations. The main couple are just two boys in high school who have their own personal set of interest.
I do feel like the characters are quite surface level, Sasaki had no depth outside of being a boy who read BL manga, and Miyano seemed to just be a guy who had a crush on him. That doesn't mean the anime was bad, but it would've been better if the characters were a little more fleshed out.
Sasaki and Miyano are a sweet couple though, and the anime does romance pretty well. I enjoy their dynamic with a shyer timider character, and a more outgoing social one. It is nice to se…

A really wholesome BL which is REALLYY slow paced, and that's the best part. Seriously, this is the purest romance anime I have ever watched, let alone BL. It is about a fudanshi named Miyano and his senior, Sasaki who fell for him at first sight. They both like to discuss about BL mangas, and Sasaki found himself falling in love with him even more. Their relationship was so genuine and pure and imo that was what made me to still watch it, because I usually can't stand with slow-paced stories haha
I REALLY love the artstyle so much, and these fuzzy backgrounds during scenes are like the cherry on the top of the cake, they made scenes so fuzzy and warm.. ^.^
On why I didn't give more than a 7, I don't know how to explain, I suck at writing reviews but I felt like it was lacking something…

Perfect. Spectacular. No notes. Beautiful portrayal of two adolescents figuring out what love is supposed to be and how it feels to them. Briefly suspends reality’s widespread homophobia to create a safe fictional setting for two boys to come to terms with homosexuality and masculinity. A generally well-written, respectful, and positive romantic relationship, complete with all the ups and downs. Nicely-paced slice of life that balances realism and a supporting cast of genuine, well-rounded characters. I've watched both the subs and dub, and the English dub does a great job of translating not just the words but the VIBES. Give me more you cowards.

Although I really liked the premise of the story, nothing fancy but can be done smartly and sweetly, I am a fan of a more classic art style so the sloppy hair, pointy noses, and big wide eyes so common now, are mediocre and generic to me. Right away that made it harder to keep watching, besides they absolutely horrible dubbed voices (I couldn't find an original with subtitles), but this will be a highly pleasing series for those who want a "give and take", discovering "love" together, as well as a friendship with common interest story.
Through the years of reading and watching BL and yaoi almost exclusively, the seme/uke, the heterosexual overlay on a gay romance or relationship never sat well with me and it's disappointing to continue to see it in the 21st century. I'm a gay guy. I know…

After dragging on this anime for years, I feel obligated to write a review. I read the manga years ago and started the anime but never finished it-- until now.
Sasaki to Miyano is one of those series where it takes time for the romantic relationship to build. It's indeed slow but reasonable enough to flag it as one of the most healthy romantic relationship out there. Some may see it as indecisive or dull, but I believe it's because of how calm the atmosphere is. Without drama or conflict, how else are we supposed to stay awake and be on edge? That's just how it is.
The series is surrounded by goofy yet calm, comedic, sometimes sentimental-- characters. It talks about life and the leisureness in flow of time. Nothing but fuwa fuwa vibe here.
To be precise, their relationship is made offi…

MY BABIES ARE SO CUTE
Story- 10/10
THIS IS A ROMANCE DONE RIGHT. Lowkey, this relationship feels realistic and cuteeee. I love the chemistry they build up, and show is paced out really well. The ending was superrrr cuteeee. And the comedy that was given with it perfect. I was laughing a lot. And the otaku culture on boys love was perfect. LIKE IT REALLY DID THEM RIGHT.
Art- 10/10
Cutesy, perfect for the vibe they show was going for. The characters were drawn really well and the color palette was vibrant.
Sound- 8/10
The voice actors were perfecttt. Really fit them well. The opening and closing are good. Characters- 10/10

(This review will be based on personal opinion as a straight guy and I will try my best not to give any spoiler)
Sasaki to Miyano is a romance done right. If you're the type of person who likes to enjoy a romance with good plot, being simplistic and has no fanservice or too much drama, this might be a good show. Although it's a BL, the story is literally wayy too wholesome, there's no signs of toxic relationships (which some of the bls have in common) and the character development is top notch.
The show is literally about Miyano Yoshikazu, a shy, introverted guy always being insecure about his looks being similar to girl and Shuumei Sasaki, who fell in love in first sight when he saw him. The story starts when Miyano finds his friend get beaten up by a group of guys and try thinking to…

TL;DR – Sasaki to Miyano is a good BL, but nothing new or notable was achieved. While better than older BL anime, this anime sadly fell into familiar tropes. Two “straight” teens suddenly find themselves attracted to each other, one of them is bold about expressing how they feel while the other is all blushes and anxiety. “He’s so cute… But he’s a boy, so whatever will I do?!” The most progressive spin I can apply to this trope is, “They are discovering their sexuality while dealing with the pressure of heteronormative expectations.” But when the characters say, “I’m straight” and “But I like girls” to themselves, it kinda undermines that argument in my book.
Despite falling hard into this bad plotline, the anime itself has a fairly compelling story, the character building for our two mai…

This series should have only been 6 episode has the Main character is a coward and there is 5 episodes that is basicly fillers and feel wastefull. They should have added a little drama or something to make it a little more interesting.
Tho if you look past this, its a cute story, and i like how all the friends respect their relationship and back out and let them deal with it instead of interfering. Also the art in this show is stunning. I loved it so much.
Also, if you watch it with english dub, one of the guys sounds like chris from the show "family guy" even tho the voice actress is not the same. But it give you a good laugh.
Allthough i recommend watching this.

If you enjoy feel good stories, this is a must watch. A wholesome story about two boys falling in love, with so many moments that can make your heart melt. It has a great balance of funny, serious, and just adorable moments throughout. If you've never watched a BL, or avoided it because you've heard bad things about common tropes, this is perfect for you. An amazing entry that stays healthy and avoids so many problematic themes associated with the genre.
Some parts can be annoying, and it may feel like the story drags on, but the cute moments given by that dragging almost make up for it. The focus is of course on Sasaki and Miyano, but you're definitely able to get invested in the side characters and their own stories. Watching their relationship progress is very sweet, and if you're look…

Sasaki and Miyano is a romance anime based on the concept of falling in love with a guy over the gay porn he lends you, which is just an inherently funny premise.
I was hesitant at first, when I found out the characters in Sasaki and Miyano were active fans of BL. This is because BL is a genre with a fraught and controversial history, so I was fully prepared for it to be full of unfunny jokes about uncomfortable tropes. Thankfully, I was wrong!
Sasaki and Miyano uses its self-aware nature to its advantage. Some might criticize it for affectionately joking about and including BL as a major part of the plot in a way that is almost entirely uncritical (as, like I said before, it is a genre rife with controversy and tropes worthy of criticism), but I disagree. I think most people would agree…

This was my very first BL anime and I am not disappointed. If you're looking for something lighthearted, funny, and cute then this is just the anime for you.
Too add on, this is more reserved from other BL series, well so I am told. There's very light physical affection for those who are just starting off and don't want to be thrown into all the physical stuff.
The only downside is that it is a slow development. It was definitely cute, but I can be impatient lol. So please, check out this anime and let me know your thoughts.

This is the first ever BL anime I watched and It helped me come to terms with my own sexuality. Having for a long time consider myself weird or felt like something was wrong with me because I never had any strong feelings when watching hetero love stories/dating, this anime definitely open a whole new emotion for me at the age of 23 and helped in the process to accept that I wasn't straight. I enjoyed the fact that both Sasaki and Miyano are patient with each other's feelings and try their best to communicate their problems.
The fact that their relationship is focused mostly on their emotional connection up to the very last scene is just wonderful. Having surveyed the BL genre after watching this a couple months ago, I can say nothing is ever going to really compare with the simplicity o…

As a 26 year-old who thought she was past watching school-centric romance + slice of life, and whose goldfish-like attention span often makes her frustrated watching a media with slow pace and little to no major conflict, Sasaki to Miyano completely changed those assumptions I had about myself.
But most importantly: it made me believe in love again. Romance is NOT dead.
[Characters: 9 for great]
Let's start with the best element of Sasaki to Miyano, okay? The characters.
At first glance, our leads—Sasaki and Miyano—seem like your typical feminine-looking uke with tiny body and masculine-looking seme with tall height. Well, 50% of the time, those are what they are. However, the anime seems to be self-aware of that, and actually makes it one of the conflicts: Miyano is insecure about his…

It's been a while since I had a review for something, and I had the urge to write one, especially for this particular BL anime.. my first-ever review had to be on a BL anime.. lol. Well I don't mind since I'm a fujoshi, but having the chance to read and own almost all the latest volumes of the manga of this anime, I felt like I needed to say something.
First of all, some mangas are better left as mangas than animations. That's what I've been thinking the whole time I've been watching this adaptation midway through. I'm not gonna drag this out longer but I need to point out how Miyano's "Fudanshi Blabber" is so awkward and cringe when displayed with a voice, whereas in the manga it wasn't like that. Japan's way of making an excited person shout when excited about something is getting dull…

This anime was delightful - its very soft and fun. Very slice of life as you follow the life of both Miyano and Sasaki and the love that grows between them. I will warn new watchers this is 100% a slow burn. Hella cute and get you a man like Kuresawa.
This was a beautiful anime- the art style fits it just perfectly the colors and mood of the art style really help sell the feelings, even when the characters are being silly.
I really liked how Sasaki is immediately into Miynao but is also totally respectful of Miyano's feelings even when he is super into him he is 100% ready to wait for the response. But it is also not all of Sasaki's motivation to do something, Sasaki has his own feelings about other things then Miynao - his concerns for studying and how he feels about graduation are cle…

If anyone would ask me what my favourite romance anime is, I would no doubt say it's Sasaki to Miyano (unless the person is not inclined to bl haha). I love it, so so much.
I love how slow and soft the romance is. I'm very fond of slow-burn romance, and I really can't take it if the romance develops too quickly. With Sasaki to Miyano, it's perfect.
They're such a healthy bl couple which is pretty rare to see in anime. They're very thoughtful and so so respectful of each other's feelings. It's also very sweet, the development between them from just senpai to kouhai, to finally realizing how they actually feel and what the other truly mean to them.
I've read the manga a little, and felt very satisfied that the adaptation is pretty faithful to the original material and even manages to brin…

I am a gay man who loves GOOD boys love anime. Sasaki and Miyano is pretty fantastic.
I don’t like being represented by the most grotesque stereotypes possible, i.e., rape-to-romance (Love Stage!), pedophilia (Super Lovers), possessiveness (My Very Own Hero), and endless ambiguity (Gakuen Heaven). Watching these anime elicits the same repulsion in me as being called a slur on the street by a drunk. This is not one of those anime. The show follows the eponymous high school students Miyano, a fudanshi (a male fan of boys love manga), and Sasaki, his slightly older delinquent classmate. They meet when Sasaki breaks up a fight between Miyano’s friend and trash-talking jerks. The random encounter immediately subverts a BL trope; the older love interest protects the younger man’s friend rather…

I can honestly say this is one of the best in its niche. Disregarding that it fulfills the gay slice-of-life romcom that very few animes portray accurately. The writing is some of the best I've seen in the genre, the plot line is fairly simple, but along the plot line there is so much that happens that you don't even notice, despite it being right in front of your face, that becomes gets called back to and made important which just leaves you sitting there like, "oh wait, yeah that did happen, wait its been happening all along? that's awesome!" Sasaki to Miyano has amazing character development without creating trauma and abrupt changes in characters. Its pacing is amazing. Its very realistic yet feels fantasy-full. My only judgment is that it's cheesy at points, which i personally love, b…

I'll start with that, there is continuation after the couple gets together. The manga is currently covering it and still running, and a movie is planned for this series in 2023.
Apart from that, my review is that, I tried to think but I can't find any place that was done half heartedly or less than that in this anime. Every aspect of it exceeded my expectations from a good anime, and there were many added surprises that I never really thought of or seen somewhere else. Watching it was also just about every emotion I can think of.
I really like this. And I'm really happy that anime seems to be evolving in a way. New series are taking inspiration from previous works and becoming more and more great.
Thank you and good job to all of the staff related to this anime. May you keep bringing us…
