A very very relaxing slice of life anime. I mean the main character is himself super relaxed all the time.
I loved the animation. It was quite unique for me. I particularly liked the school. In other anime that I have watched, the school looked very similar but not in this one. It looked modern with lots of open space. Very unique. Other than the school, the overall animation was quite good, the environment, the characters design were superb. The colors used were also not too bold, but seemed like a lighter shade giving the scenes a very different feel.
The characters were also quite good, especially the main character - super lazy, always relaxed. Each of their personality was unique - tsundere, air heads, dreamy, caring - each of these were covered.
The theme is slice of life with lig…

A wonderfully relaxing show with simple, conversational humor. As an autistic person with a stimulation rooted sleep disorder, I felt so seen I almost cried at multiple points of the show. I couldn't help but beam for the first six episodes.
Some people will find its slothful pace grating. The show sometimes makes use of misunderstandings, which I personally cannot stand, but only does so to add onto otherwise fantastic episodes. The misunderstanding is never the focus and sole content of a full episode. Two or three of the episodes were honestly boring, but the show has a great introduction and ending.
The music is absolutely incredible.

This might be one of my absolute favorite anime of all time that I've managed to rewatch quite a few times already, even owning a DVD set. I'm certain not everybody will come to appreciate it to the same level, as my view of it is also heavily boosted by nostalgia, yet I still decided to condense some of my thoughts in a review.
It's an absolutely lovely and gorgeous little collection of moments in the lives of the cast, the perfect comedic iyashikei I love sharing with people in my life. The cast of this anime is quite well put together and I commend it for dedication to introduce each and every one, it makes it feel like the series really took its time to focus on the character of the episode. It does mean that some of them suffer from fewer episodes, but I think the way they went about…

Tanaka kun is always Listless- 7.5/10
What a great show. The characters are quite interesting. They all have their quirks but not at all annoying. Usually with show's like these, there is always a quirky defining trait for most characters and jokes get stale fast, but here that is not the case. The magic is in the characters and scenarios they end up in. MC's best friend really is the best. Also, the romance is on point and the pairs fit well.
Now this is how you do it. Much better version of Aharen-san. I was so bored by Aharen, but I binged this through the night.

I have a deadline tomorrow where I have to submit 60 hours worth of work and I have completed absolutely none of it. I did what any logical person does, decide to crash and burn while resorting to escapism. I was looking for the average slice of life anime where nothing eventful happens and I was willing to forgive some fanservice here and there (as long as it doesn't devolve into entirely explicit).
Tanaka-kun is Always Listless was better than I anticipated. There's some romance, but no degenerate fanservice. It's not funny, but it's humorous enough that I find myself smirking like a weirdo. The characters aren't deep, but they are pretty interesting and likeable. The experience is similar to other slice-of-life, but not to the point where I find myself predicting everything and skippin…

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless. A very basic on the surface, but very entertaining anime.
Reminds me a lot of Aharen-san wa Hakarenai (Aharen Is Indecipherable).
Its about a school boy Tanaka. A boy with no enthusiasm, who never gets exited.
Oota; his always serious best friend who always supports him (literally carrying him around).
Oota is the most helpful person in the world. Always willing to go out of his way to help others.
Rino; Tanaka’s little sister who has a crush on her older brother, wants her brother all to herself and wants to keep Oota away.
Coincidentally Rino’s best friend is Oota’s younger sister.
Rino has a similar uninterested personality like her brother. But doesn’t share his unmotivated personality.
Despite Tanaka’s lack of motivation and enthusiasm he has a fair…

Even though this review is weirdly written this is still my full on opinion on this anime.
ALSO MINOR SPOILER ALERT PROBABLY.
Now I might be as listless as Tanaka, because I sure don’t want to type out a lengthy review, neither have I ever done that. Well for starters this anime is slice of, it is a genre that is either for you or not for you. So if you are not into that stuff don’t expect it to be different. It is like throwing a rock at a vile monkey that beats you up and doing it again because you think the vile monkey will act differently. I really don’t remember how the saying went sorry. So when I went into this anime I expected a lot more than that I got. I saw glimmers of romance but it was the same as in my life so it never became anything. Actually it never even started in thi…

If an anime could be a sleeping spell this one is it, but in a good way!
I'm of the opinion that pure comfort-centric slice of life with next to no plot could fall short when put next to more impactful series'. But if honourable mentions were rated, I'd say Tanaka-kun deserves a 10/10.
I loved how softly animated and scored in a way that could potentially lull you to sleep. I'm in love with the voice acting and even lack there of, I'm referring to the long drawn out pauses which in my opinion made the best contribution to this series' comedy.
And finally the comedy: light and lowkey chuckles accompany this series pretty consistently, absolutely no need for chaotic or weird scenes typical to anime humour.
Its cozy, breezy and forget-your-worries vibe is perfect for someone looking to take a…

This show is a very quiet riot as the subtle humor fluctuates between heartwarmingly awkward to totally off-the-cuff. In surprisingly bold ways, this cast of teens navigate their way through high school, trying to become the best versions of themselves - especially Tanaka. His honest desire to become a sentient rock is lowkey impressive, but the interactions and bonds he makes in his pursuit are highkey hilarious. Tanaka is calm, unaffected, moisturized, and in his lane throughout the entire series, with the most soft points of growth keeping him from becoming stagnant. His orbit of friends also have rich undertones and nuances to the stereotypical roles they've been assigned. It's a refreshing take on so many common anime tropes: the energetic lead, the hardened muscle, and flawless beaut…

Honestly this show is really uncomplicated but that is also the reason that it's so much fun to watch. There is something really comforting about the simplicity of it, there is no extra thinking needed it literally just is what it is. The art style is really clean and fresh and the characters are fun and likeable.
There are a fair amount of funny moments and tiny sections of light drama but i feel like the overall vibe is very relaxed so this kind of show is perfect for when you feel stressed in my opinion.
I was actually kind of sad when it ended i felt like i could literally watch another 50 episodes of it.

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge starts with a lazy protagonist and his reliable friend. The anime is set on the school theme with nothing new or interesting
The plot is pretty average and basic as many other high school anime and even the story is pretty bland there are occasional comedic scenes that will at least make you chuckle but the undertone of the anime remains boring up until the end. The characters were all stereotypical with no intention of trying anything new and the development was minimal. The anime tried to be a comedy-focused one but utterly failed to do so because of forced comedic scenes and stereotypical characters. The art was good but inconsistent with eyes and the animation was pretty ok
The school theme is considered one of the most used themes and it has its checkma…

A feel good Slice of Life that anyone can enjoy. I already knew I was going to love the anime since the manga was one of my favourites, but enough of that and into the anime basics we go.
Story; You follow the everyday life of two high-school boys, Tanaka who tries to live as Listless as possible and his best friend Oota who tries to live his life to the fullest (as much as a high-school can anyway). You watch these two in simple situations that remind you of yourself growing up. Wanting to sleep during class, eat sweets after school, trying to escape the rain, wanting to become more mature, becoming a better version of yourself and more. The best part of this series (manga and anime) is definitely the slow and slightly awkward pauses they put in-between, during and after the scenes. I al…

I started the show because of a pretty funny gif I saw, and I'm glad I did. The show had a lot of tasteful elements to it that really brought the atmosphere together. Normally, I'd say that long/longer pauses makes a show lag, but in this case it really brought it together that much better due to the nature of the main character. I found myself laughing a lot at just random unexpected things, and I didn't get bored of anything during the show. While it would seem that there wouldn't be much direction in terms of how the story progresses, the author(s) did quite a good job keeping the reader/viewer on their toes while being quite plausible (e.g. the main character acts like a real person and sometimes does things that appear to be counter-intuitive to the viewer, as opposed to a generic ani…

It can be a good anime to enjoy before sleeping, relaxing to an almost drama-free, slow-paced slice of life anime. However, it ends up having more focus on platonic relationships than it should.
Despite that, the nice and relaxing art ensures it a relaxing quality. Plus the overall behavior of the characters is mostly chill too. It's a shame that, despite the good quality, it didn't sell that well means it will hardly get a second season, tough it will be hopefully used as inspiration for other animes.
Personally, what made me not enjoy it so much was the relationship, specially platonic relationships, through the anime and specially frequent in the last episodes. Not that it didn't ruin the mood, but IMO it did lower the quality and purpose of said episodes.
So, TL;DR, it's almost dram…

Tanaka kun is Always Listless-and this may surprise you-is a comedy anime with a school setting as if there aren't a ton of garbage out there with the same premise. It's as if the industry that produced so many exciting and thought provocative animes is now a stagnant pool of shit and i blame YOU, the viewers, cause when an interesting anime appears if it hurts your feelings you take to twatter and cry internet tears of despair so we end up with crap like this one.
TIAL is about Tanaka, who is a lazy as fuck student who wants to do nothing but sleep. In his quest for total nothingness his loyal comrade Ohta is always there to carry him like those dogs Paris Hilton carries around, you know the ones that look like a dwarf devil with an attitude. Thankfully a petite blonde bitch comes into p…

I watched Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (all animated content). Here are my thoughts:
Great direction
Solid production quality
Decent soundtrack
Nice character designs
Genuinely funny -- the humour is derived from character interaction which I like.
I generally don't seek out humour as a genre, and typically don't like shows where the focus is on humour. Humour works best as a side dish at most, usually. I made an exception for this show because I thought I might like the flavour of humour. I was right; it was pretty enjoyable and I laughed out loud plenty of times. The gags in this are implemented well with things like dramatic pauses, facial expressions, thought-bubblish stuff for context, etc.
Fairly likable cast of characters. Using their various personalities, the entire cast is em…

This was such an enjoyable slice of life anime! The characters and story are hilarious and lowkey relatable! I really like the art style and sounds (or lack of sound) to create a lighthearted and relaxing atmosphere.
Tanaka is so silly, yet I’m lazy af like him at times hahaha. There were so many moments I couldn’t stop laughing. I didn’t expect some of the situations/reactions. Also, let’s give it up for Ohta! Get yourself a best friend like Ohta!
The female characters are cute, especially Miyano! She’s so precious! I usually am not a big fan of overly cute or high pitched female voices, but she’s an exception! She’s so energetic and sweet but wants to be Tanaka’s disciple hehe!
I definitely would recommend!

At first i thought this show was kind of boring and could not understand why ppl would rate it so high. But I must admit that after 4 episodes this show grew up on me.
Still its a solid 7 rating for me. Main reason for that is because of the main character. I found him a bit annoying and boring to be honest. Like his listlessness really annoyed me. He is blessed with a very great friend though! But i wish he was a bit more independent.
The show gave me a bit Hyouka vibes.. Though Tanaka-kun is nothing compared to our genius Oreki-kun. But the school theme, cultural festival, laziness and the soundtracks reminded me a lot of Hyouka. Really brought back memories and nostalgia.
At first i was just planning to finish the main series, but afterwards i even watched the specials :D So yes i e…

Awwh, what a cutesy, pleasant lil' surprise. :>
Nothing ground-breaking, mind! But, going into it with few to no expectations, it was better than I thought, and I enjoyed myself.
The art: it's fine! It doesn't need to be groundbreaking. I'd say it's above average, and just right for what it needs to be. The colouring is very pleasant to the eyes, adding to the relaxing atmosphere, and so watching it, you yourself start to feel cosy!
The music as well is just pleasant, and wonderfully adds to the comedic or restful moments!
There's some stars of characters. Tanaka is the main character who really doesn't want to be the main character, preferring to lead a normal life and be left alone. He is ridiculously listless, to the point that, in my headcannon, he has some sort of disease - but th…

Story:
Since this was a slice of life there really was not much going on in the big scheme of things, and rather had small and silly everyday problems every episode. Although it may seem boring, I genuinely felt that the concept of boring is precisely the selling point of this particular anime. Watching Tanaka-kun embark on the journey of listlessness with his friends through everyday life was so relieving, relaxing, and wholesome.
Art:
The art was very simple and cute, which I absolutely adore because it just makes everything so wholesome and innocent. I always felt very satisfied afterwards since I got my daily dose of wholesome content. I thought that the art style was a good fit for the anime because it had the necessary detail for things but also gave a simplistic overview of the m…
